Affordable Vegetarian and Must try restaurant in Pondicherry
This Vegetarian restaurant is well recognised for it’s authentic and variety of South Indian and North Indian cuisine food items. They provide á la carte service at comparatively reasonable rates with heritage delicacy.
No wonder, this food-joint feels like home for localities and a must visit for tourists as well.
I would recommend the veg meals that they serve in the afternoon. Had an authentic veg lunch only for Rs 80/- It's a simple place but the food was fresh and wholesome. Keep it up!

A good place to have tasty South Indian dishes. The chutneys and sambar are delicious. Don't forget to ask for the podi. You can also try the mini-tiffin in the morning to get a taste of everything - idly, dosa, pongal and puri.
Had been to pondy & was looking out to dine local cuisine. Also was keen on pure vegetarian & also hygienic. As reviews were good tried exploring vaasavi mess. Though i had to park my vehicle & walk. Was for a surprise seeing the place as the entry was too small. As i entered in was struggling a bit to speak tamil i was made comfortable with the owner divakar who was fluent with English. So we were family of 8. So he started suggesting dishes 1 after another that we could cover 50% of his menu. Started with idlis & a podi chutney was the best combination. Then came in different kind of parota which are named sada, pepper & chillie.onion Utappa was too good also their ghee roast. Infact tried rice item too. Over all loved the food & price was too reasonable. Infact visited twice on my 4days visit to pondy. So do try will enjoy food!!

Vaasavi Mess serves hot, hygienic, Tasty, South Indian food. Though the place is not very fancy, the location is excellent and air conditioned.
Unforgettable Memories..... Good serving staff and best place for family.... Really caring staff and good taste like home made taste.... Guys who wil visit the place plz taste Idly chetni powder as it's different taste.... Even they helped us for getting there home made idly podi for our place.... Really appreciate to Vasavi Mess and team who gave us great welcome and made us hungry full fill.....
A good restaurant which provides all types of Vegetarian dishes at reasonable prices and also provides various types of traditional foods..i recommend everyone to visit Sri Vaasavi Mess and experience the food..☺
