Visited this place during my lunch hours from work.
Absolutely loved their cafreal biryani. It's too good. Would love to go back just to have it again and try more options from the menu. The staff was polite and promt at service.
Very descent and good place to go on and have some good food
Taste was good , Biryani was properly cooked ,all chiken dry dishes were tasty ,service was fast , quantity was more then sufficient. Recommended for sure as a fine dining place. Would rate 4.2/5
It's located in hotel golden pleateu. Having a nice ambience and amazing food, it's a perfect place to visit with friends and family. They specialize in goan good. So if you're a goan food lover, this place should be in your bucket list. They have really nice drinks. We had tried their watermelon cooler and blue lagoon mocktail.
Steamed chicken momos- Stuffed with minced chicken and served steaming hot with mustard sauce. Very delicious and filling dish.
Tereyaki vegetables- Exotic veggies tossed in sesame chilli sauce. Recommended for health concious folks.
Butter garlic naan- Very filling. Perfect for 2 people.
Chicken Cafreal biryani- Very rare dish and highly recommended dish.
Gulab jamun- Was served streaming hot along with suugar syrup. Again highly recommended.
Looking for a decent family fine dine place then look no further. Basil leaf, located in hotel golden plateau has an unique experience to share with its guests. The place is really well designed. Food was really nice. For starters we tried their chicken dumplings. They were really tasty and well stuffed. For mains we tried their butter chicken and their signature cafreal biryani. Their butter chicken was really thick and creamy and paired really nicely with butter garlic naan. Cafreal biryani was something unique. We ended things with a plate of nice hot Gulab Jamun. Overall a really nice experience
A wonderful restaurant in a convenient location in Porvorim, The Basil Leaf serves up delectable Indian, Goan and Oriental Food in an elegant family-friendly setting. I sampled one starter from each of the cuisine offerings - Steamed Dumplings (Oriental), Batter Fried Calamari (Goan) and Tangdi Kebab (Indian). The steamed dumplings were okay, they could have been presented better. The Calamari was wonderfully light and crispy... generous portion, too. I really enjoyed the succulent Tangdi kebab and therefore opted for an Indian main course too.I'd highly recommend the Murgh Musallam... it is a lavish treat for chicken lovers, Paired with butter-garlic naan, you can't go wrong! Mocktails definitely need improvement. Will visit again to try out more of the Oriental offerings as many of the items on the menu looked really tempting.
Must visit place for amazing food. Had a great time and enjoyed every bit of the meal.
Easy to find location, decent parking.
Lovely decor, simple yet elegant.
Had heard a lot about the fish thali here, so tried it.. very good portions, curry was exquisite, the kingfish could have been better, the sweetdish:gulabjamun was heavenly, I would have preferred to have had solkadi as part of thali.
But overall good place, always attracts a decent crowd, and is value for money.
The lime soda is pretty good! Do visit! I hear the Chinese is good too.

Contrary to Indian belief, this Basil Leaf is not Tulsi (from Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi). Jokes apart, last time before I visited Goa I had a list of invitations from various places to try out their menu. As it was monsoon, I was skeptical about how many I would be able to make it. We didn’t take a chance and on the first day we reached Goa, I visit The Basil Leaf.
my mom and myself Quite enjoyed our lunch here! We ate some Bangkok shrimp and rice which was really very tasty, we did enjoy some mocktails as well! I would def recommend this place for families just wanting a nice meal together! The staff of the place were very friendly and helped us out with the menu choice!

Porvorim is one of the most family friendly neighborhood s in Goa; with malls, schools, sprawling residential colonies, shopping centers , it is no wonder that family friendly restaurants are very popular in this locality.
@the_basil_leaf_goa is a new multispecialty family friendly restaurant, which serves everything from Indian, Chinese, Goan speciality food.
We had a very satisfying meal of fish curry rice with prawn rava fry and caramel custard. The quintessential Goan Saturday lunch. For starters we had chicken dimsum ( surprisingly good and extremely good value for money) and stuffed crabs ( also fairly good) .
This place is already getting popular with office get togethers, department celebrations , and family dinners. Everyone gets their cuisine of choice and the service is hospitable and the ambience pleasing and comfortable. Situated on a downslope behind Delfinos supermart, in hotel the Golden Plateau, it's just off the highway.

A small family restaurant with good taste and quality food. Totaly worth the price. Warm and welcoming staff.
P.S.- Do try their chicken noodles and pasta.
The food was too good. The taste, the presentation everything was above par. My friend ordered something in vegetarian and it was yum too. I ordered Garlic pepper prawns and chicken Thai Red curry with steamed rice. The prawns were big, fresh and beautiful. Tasted awesome.
The Thai curry was perfect. The staff was courteous and friendly. All in all amazing experience and I'm definitely coming back again.
The Basil Leaf located right behind Delfinos in Porvorim Goa, is a fine dining restaurant serving North Indian and Goan Cuisine. Our recent visit to The Basil Leaf was filled with yummy food and great service.
What we tried: Starters: Garlic pepper prawns, Malaysian Chicken And Chicken tandoori. Loved the garlic prawns so much. Amazing quantity and reasonable prices.
Mains: Burnt Garlic noodles and Hyderabadi biryani.
Desserts: Gulab Jamuns.
Gonna visit soon for some seafood😋

Ordered Chinese. Menu, chef and manager is ex-Goenchin. Every thing that Goenchin offers, and at a lower price, which makes it 6-star (1.5k for 3 of us).
Try the Mix Veg Teriyaki appetizer.

Dinners are one of my favorites especially with good company. My friend and I decided to explore the quite hyped up Hotel golden plateau's restaurant ' The basil leaf' which is in the heart of porvorim.
As we entered the restaurant we were greeted by the staff and asked where we preferred to dine.
After we were comfortable we were introduced to the menu and were suggested to try out some of the mocktails. Which I found to be average.
For starters we had Naam Prik Pla which is a thai dish which is usual grilled fish and I fell in love with it the second it was introduced to my taste buds. We then had the Murgh Malai kabab and Murgh Banjara Kabab which was the right amout of flavours.
The highlight of this dinner was the maincourse. We ordered the Chicken Cafreal Biryani which was so amazing and different from all the various kinds of biryanis i have ever tasted. Also its super spicy, so caution to people with low tolerance to spicy food. Lol.
We ended the dinner on a sweet note. We had a plate of gulab jamun which was the perfect ending. Satisfied and craving for more
Ambience:3/5
Food: 4/5
Service: 4/5
Celebrated my best friends birthday here. Best place to have a get together. The staff is welcoming and very patient with their diners. 5* to the food. And 5* to the ambience
Had a really good time here. Would recommend this place to everyone looking for a peaceful place to dine in. The staff was very welcoming and extremely helpful while ordering our meal
The Biryani (veg/non veg) is the best here. Just couldn’t get enough of it. For dessert we had gulab jamun and it was the best way anyone could end their meal
This is recently opened restaurant in porvorim. Ambiance is excellent.
We ordered
- Malaysian chicken: It was good. Chicken was cooked well. It came with fried crispy noodles.
- Pan fried chilly fish: Must try. It's spicy and flavours are on point.
- Chicken biryani: Recommended. It was good.
- Chicken patiala: This gravy came with chicken kheema wrapped in omelette. It was unique and we loved it. It's bit sweet though.
Good service. Prices are reasonable. Most of the items prices are in range of 250-350 bucks. We would definitely recommend this place.
It's too crowded, the manager said we will get a table in 5 to 10 minutes, we got a table in less than 10 minutes. Their staff was attentive and happy to help. We tried the Garlic Pepper Prawns for starters, The portion was okay but taste was decent. The chicken in Chilli Lemon Sauce was tasty. The portion too was good enough for 2 people. Their ice cream with honey noodles was simply fantastic.
Really very tasty Goan food. Loved the Pan Fried Chilli Fish and Mocktail. Best service provided. Very nice design restaurant. When you enter it a different feeling comes. The staff is very friendly and welcoming.
Seseme paneer chilly and Wonton
The food was amazing! The staff was welcoming and helpful to suggest the dishes. A good place to dine withe friends and family.
We went on a Saturday afternoon and there was less rush. Comfortably got a table.
We ordered Chinese starters including Malaysian chicken, Bangkok prawns, fish Phoenix and pan fried chilli fish. All the dishes were excellent and quantity was reasonable.
Goan Squids masala fry and Banjara kebab were good too.
The rates of all dishes including fish were very value for money.
The main course chicken in chilli oyster sauce and hakka noodles were also great.
The food is excellent, ambience is good and the service can be better.
If you are looking for options in Porvorim this place is a must visit.
This just opened recently, went there on a Saturday and it was quite full at 9:00 PM. Thankfully we got a table within 5 minutes and thanks to the live music our dinner was well spent.
We ordered a perfect soup, starter, maincourse which took a bit longer than we expected. Owing to the fact that they were full, the dishes we were served were absolutely perfect. Literally the 5 stars for that.
Basil restaurant actually belongs to hotel golden plateau and it's a fine dine restaurant situated on Porvorim highway road. The ambience of this restaurant is quite nice. It's bright and quiet with smooth music playing in the background. We ordered for dragon and phoenix soup which is a thick soup with chicken mince and chopped vegetables and tasted good. For appetizers we had Bangkok chicken and Taipei chicken out of which we enjoyed Taipei more cos it was sweet, tangy and spicy whereas Bangkok chicken was a green chicken with lots of garlic and tasted average. For main course we ordered for chicken oyster chilly garlic noodles which was bursting with so many flavours and was the best of the evening. What I liked the most about their food is that they serve everything with exotic vegetables and my favorite palak 😅. Ended our meal with their warm and soft gulab jamun. It was good but not outstanding. Overall a good experience. Our server suresh is a very nice guy who is very polite and recommends good food. One more thing I would like to add is that they don't serve alcohol but can arrange on request.
The basil leaf...lovely ambience, tasty food , courteous staff. Porvorim has got a very nice family restaurant now along with Copperleaf.
We ordered fresh lime soda,chicken dumplings,pan fried chilly fish(awesome taste),Malaysian chicken(very nice)
Cheese garlic naan and chicken dragon and Phoenix soup(unique taste as unique the name is)
Prices are a bit high but ok as per the Porvorim highly recommended. Will definitely visit again.
Ambiance: It's a family restaurant with good ambiance.
Food: For starters we ordered Malaysian chicken(good), pan fried chilly fish(must try, it's spicy). For main course we ordered chicken biryani (must try) and chicken patiala(good, bit sweet) with plain naan.
Service: Good, prompt service.
Cost: Most dishes lie in range of 250-350bucks.
If you are in porvorim and looking for a good food place than look no further then basil leaf.
Location : Take the first left after you cross Bharat petroleum, porvorim, goa. You will see golden plateau board on the left turn.
Alcohol is not served yet at this restaurant but you can carry your own booze here, this way you save on the vat that would have been added to your bill.
Perfect for a small get together with upto 50 people occupancy, but have limited parking space. They have this huge screen where one can enjoy sports. Good ambience and service.
Dishes I tried here are as follows:
Starters : garlic pepper prawns, fish Pheonix(There is a similar dish in chicken which has the same sauce. The dish is called as Malaysian chicken. Try that if you are not a fan of fish), Bangkok prawns, chicken dumpling(this takes a while to prepare so I would recommend to order this at the start only) and chicken lollypop.
Main coarse : rara mutton, butter chicken(if you like sweet butter chicken then you may try this one), chicken biryani and cafreal chicken biryani(has a goan touch to it but not as great as the normal biryani). All the gravy dishes go well with butter rotis.
Dessert : gulab jamun(didn't like it much)
Must try :
Starters : fish pheonix , garlic pepper prawns
Main coarse : Rara mutton and Chicken Biryani
I visited this newly opened restaurant sometime back on my recent trip to Goa. I loved how the place has been beautifully set-up. I went there for an early lunch and the place was relatively empty, but as the time passed, almost the entire place was occupied.
I really loved the food here. Despite a lot of crowd, the service was quick. Tried many different dishes and would definitely recommend the following-
Paneer ke Sholay
Stuffed Crabs
Pepper Garlic Prawns
Bhuna Murg with Garlic Naan
Finished my meal with Darsaan with Ice cream, which is honey noodles topped with white sesame seeds and served with ice cream.
Head to Basil Leaf for some lovely Indian and Oriental dishes.
Highly recommended
We happened to visit the Basil Leaf for lunch. It is a restaurant by the Golden Plateau which is located in Porvorim. We had an amazing experience there!
We ordered Thai Spicy mushroom in the appetizers and Bangkok Prawns and Murgh Pahadi Kebab. Ash loved the Bangkok Prawns and it's a must try!
The staff was really friendly and answered all our questions related to the dishes we ordered.
We had exotic vegetables in Szechuan sauce along with Garlic fried rice.
If you're someone who's looking for Oriental food this is the place to go.
You can try out Apple Fizz drink and Fruit punch, we enjoyed both the drinks.
In the desserts, which is our favorite part, we had Gulab Jamun which melted in my mouth as I had a bite of it!
Also we chose the Goan sweet dish Bebinca which didn't disappoint us and was equally good.
If you want to enjoy sports matches on the big screen along with good food and good times this is the place to go! It's a great place for fine dine with family and friends.
We had a great time at The Basil Leaf!
visited this place after reading some good reviews on zomato and I must say I was not disappointed....right frm the starters and main course to desserts, everything was quiet good...pahadi kebab and specially tht chilli grilled fish was finger licking good...whole staff and sales manager was so friendly too...looking for one more visit soon...
One of my favourite family restaurants. The food is great, the biryanis and kebabs are die for. Staff is very welcoming and the restaurant gives a very happy vibe.
(The banjara kebab, gulab jamuns and the cafreal biryani is highly recommended)
A newly opened restaurant in Porvorim. The Basil leaf is an in house restaurant of the hotel. The ambience of the place is nice and bright. The staff is friendly and makes sure you have a good time. The food is delicious and pocket friendly as well. Overall it’s a good family restaurant in Porvorim.
I went to this place with my mom when i was craving for delicious indian food so there i had...
1.chilly paneer-the paneer was a little bit less spicy for me otherwise it was very good.4/5
2.chicken pahadi kebab-it was superb the chicken was so tender...5/5
3.Hyderabadi chicken biryani-this is my all time favourite and it was very nice5/5
Situated in the Golden Plateau Hotel, right on the Porvorim Highway, is the recently opened fine dine restaurant Basil Leaf. Honestly speaking when I attended the launch of the place, I couldn’t make much of it. There were a lot of guests back then and I had reached quite late, also I tried only Thai Chicken Curry and Rice during the launch which was good, but I wasn’t really sure how it would turn out when dining on a normal regular day. So when I headed to The Basil Leaf for a lunch with my family, I had no expectations at all, but at the onset, I have to say that I was taken by a complete surprise. The overall experience turned out to be so good that it has already become a favorite neighborhood restaurant for my entire family who looks forward to going back there soon.
Another thing that added a feather to the cap was the fact that as a blogger I wasn’t given any specially curated or pre-selected menu. I was free to choose my order, and this was because the restaurant management wanted me to try, experience and provide with feedback like a regular guest. This helped me understand two things about the place very well, first, it showed their confidence in their preparations and secondly, they were open to constructive feedback and suggestions to improve.
Coming to food, I ordered the following dishes
Pan Fried Chilly Fish– An absolute must have!
Chicken Pahadi Kebab– Very highly recommended, especially for those who are trying North Indian
Garlic Pepper Prawns– A very decent preparation yet again
Pan Fried Tamarind Fish– Something very different and unique, must be given a shot
Chilly Paneer– This was ok, nothing exceptional, but not bad either.
For the main course, we settled for Dal Makhani, which could have been better, Hyderabadi Dum Biryani, which was great, Chicken Noodles and Chicken in Oyster Sauce, both of which were really well prepared. We ended the meal on a sweet note with some Hot Gulab Jamuns.
P.S.- They have something called as Cafreal Biryani, which is chef’s own twist to create a fusion with Mughlai and Goan flavors, although I did not try it, it sounded interesting and I will surely try it soon. Just keep in mind that if you are ordering in, you will have to call the restaurant and especially ask for this one, as it is not part of the regular menu.
To sum it up, I had a great experience enjoying my food at The Basil Leaf and you definitely should give it a try.

Great place for oriental cuisine. The bangkok prawns of the hotel are a must try . I had the burnt garlic chicken fried rice with sesame chilli chicken, the combo was quite nice . The ambience is perfect for family or couples and the interior of the restaurant is very elegant and pleasant . The staff is very friendly and gives good recommendation for dishes to try .
One of the new restaurants in porvorim and one of the best ones too.
Tried their Bangkok prawns and butter garlic calamari in starters and the spicy crab meat fried rice in chinese mains. For desserts, we tried their gulab jamun.
The taste was amazing, flavours were perfect, great ambience and a perfect experience. Totally satisfied.
Great food! Really good hosts. Honestly, we ordered too much to now remember and rate. But overall the food is 5/5 ! New favorite for Pan Asian cuisine.
A pleasant find in Porvorim, which has a drastic shortage of restaurants with acceptable taste levels.
We ordered Indian snacks, Indian main course and a Pasta... and all were very good. Not oily, not smeared with Colors and not loaded with Chillies. Just the way food should be !
The Restaurant is part of the new Golden Plateau hotel and the interiors are very nicely done. Since it's a new place, only Hotel guests were there and it has not caught on yet with dine-in guests.
Since we were the only non-Hotel guests dining ok the weekend, we got a bit too much service , with the staff over-servicing us :-)
Bookmarked this in Zomato , definitely ordering delivery from this also
I had come across a number of mentions about dis place recently so thought of giving it a try & it did not disappoint at all!
For starters, we ordered bangkok chicken, malaysian chicken, wontons (steamed). All were very tasty but I loved d wontons of all for d flavours dey had.
For maincourse we ordered chilli oyster noodles (chicken) which was just wow, prawns green thai curry (again a must-have for someone who loves thai cuisine) with plain rice.
To our surprise - dey had this offer wherein if d bill amount is above 500/- den you get a complementary dessert - v were served a gulab jamun - which was very yummy.
Overall, a very gud place with best food for d prices dey charge. Quick service & good staff.
This restaurant is recently opened in Porvorim by the Golden Plateau. The place is really good, has a very pleasant ambience and the prices are very reasonable. It is situated near teen Building and opposite Gauri Petrol Pump. The food served is really good. Bangkok Chicken is a must try there and their green prawn thai curry is amazing and very creamy. In their Desserts the Gulab jamun is to die for!! Hot and soft and delicious. The seafood they serve is freshly brought. I was invited to the restaurant to give a review by the owner. The staff is nice and friendly. The place has a good parking space too. For more detailed review about the restaurant check out my food page @romaloves_food

Happened to order these dishes via zomato and it was simply amazing.. the chicken dimsums are juicy and delicious. The malaysian chicken had the right balance between spicy and sweetness..loved it. The crab meat fried rice was spicy and an absolute winner. My palette was truly asking for more. MUST TRY!!!!
Great food. A good restaurant in porvorim. Chinese and Asian food is amazing. Located in a hotel called the golden plateau right on the porvorim highway.
Great food great ambience! Try Pan Asian food here right next to the main highway in Porvorim close to major tourist destination! Loved the place

Very nice place with variety of dishes. One might not find the place easily as it is a bit inside from the highway. The food is good & rates are reasonable. I had a pineapple mocktail & it was really amazing. The service is good and fast but they do not serve alcohol so the 4 stars.
Thought of visiting a new place and definitely basil leaf didn't disappoint. The service was very good and the ambiance is just like any other good restaurant. We had only veg food here and every thing we ordered was tasty. 5/5
An excellent restaurant to visit for a relaxed meal, I happened to see their kitchen too, clean and very systematic.
They have am excellent menu, must try the chicken biryani, its class. Their kebabs are also yummy. Not sure if they serve Alcohol as yet.
Nice ambience and seating. The best part is that they have parking right inside the hotel.
Fast service by friendly staff.
We tried the Bangkok Prawns, Malaysian Chicken, Pan-Fried Fish (Modso) and Chicken Chilli Noodles. Food was good. Skip the (very visible) chillies incase you are sensitive to spicy food.
One amazing place with thoughtfully chosen menu options! You don't get to see too many choices in the menu here, but items that are there are definitely worth having. And coming to people, they are lovely! They suggest you right items.
Stuffed mushrooms look different here than other places. Bankok chicken is very good. I have already been here twice, will definitely go many more times!!
Amazing Indian food, simple elegant ambiance and wonderful service. Must try the Murgh Musallam. Will definitely return to try more dishes soon.
Must visit place for amazing food. Had a great time and enjoyed every bit of the meal, specially thai curry and Darsaan for desert. Lovely ambience and good service
Had a lovely fellowship on July 25 the with 26 old college friends...we selected full oriental food for dinner...Mr Sovin the restaurant manager helped us decide on menu...snacks were good the prawns are big size and generous portions....as they have no bar licence we could bring our own bottles of wine etc...go for oriental
I went to this place when it was opened and the stuff they served were good.
What I liked : prefer ordering fish dishes especially ambot tikk of fish and king fish. They both were amazing dishes and I really loved it. One of the good places that serve authentic Goan dishes. I did try chicken dishes too, but I preferred ordering fish 🐟
The service can be quick but nevertheless, it’s new and they will Improve.
We enjoyed the Chinese dishes and butter chicken with cheese garlic naan. The portions were adequate. Suresh the staff was helpful and very courteous.
The restaurant has a beautiful ambiance. Nothing but peaceful. Amazing for date nights. The food was delicious and budget-friendly.
Must visit!
Awesome amalgamation of ambeience, class and hospitality.
Tried the Tzjeio Kay pen and Bangkok prawns.
As they say, first impression is the last impression...!!
Safe to say the Basil Leaf abides by it...!!
Great ambience and great food and that too in a reasonable cost. Worth the drive.
Must visit place for amazing dinner date😊
The ambiance and food was remarkable.
Also don't forget to taste the stuffed crabs with white wine🔥
High quality Oriental and Indian cuisine. Attentive manager and staff.
We were also very pleased with the banquet arrangement. The tastefully decorated A/C banquet hall is ideal for lunch events as it overlooks the valley. The service was excellent and our guests had only good things to say about the service and, equally, the food.
Highly recommended for a meal or an event.
We had Valentine’s day special lunch from here and it was a wonderful experience. The hospitality is commendable. They were so courteous and helped us to order the best Goan dishes as it was our first time in Goa. They gave a complementary dessert too. The food was delicious and the ambience was great. I strongly recommend this place. It is a bit difficult to spot this place from main road but its worth it.
A nice place with a great ambience and good staff. We had a good time and enjoyed the food there. The only draw back is that they don't serve hot drinks. Place is comfy and we all enjoyed our time.
Only the road to cross the highway is a bit challenging, you need to be very careful.
So enjoy.
