For those who know this place from Kothachiwadi Girgaum, it's all nostalgia.
The quaint little marble top tables bring back old memories.
The taste elements are still the same. Met the owner Khadpe who carries on the family legacy.
All in all a great place for a nice hearty meal.

Iconic 80 year old Girgaum eatery comes home to Goa. I was deeply saddened when the Khotachiwadi vintage restaurant shuttered it was a sad day in Bombay. This restaurant which was once on the New York Times described as worth getting on a plane to eat at. The Penha de Franca establishment still have a woodfired Clay kitchen doling out fish thalis on the century old marble top tables.
Nice place. Good food.
Tried the mutton thali(1 cup(waati) mutton with a large fried Dodiyaro) for Rs.170 and
Surmai Thali for Rs.200.
Both were delicious. Authentic Goan.
An elderly gentleman served the food. We had reached early around 12:30pm and were the first and only people having lunch at the place. Was really calm and we enjoyed it. Will definitely visit again if I happen to pass by.
Since we went here by reading about it earlier, we had a basic idea about this restaurant. It was a famous sea food, and fish thali restaurant in Goregav, Mumbai which they shifted to Goa due to some reasons. So they have converted their home in Goa into a restaurant.
The ambience is from 70s, so was the, music and staff. Everything here is old and out of fashion but well maintained.
The food was great ! Service was fast. The server must be atleast 55 years old, as his hands were shaking and he couldn't hear well.
They make homemade style food, no excess oil, no unnecessary spiceness or colors. Food was simple, and tasty. Veg thali is 90, fish thali 120.
I will truly recommend this place for anyone who wants to eat a simple yet delicious meal !
After reading a one line review of the authenicate taste of meals. We went to this restaurant not sure what to expect.Once there ( we were early by 10 minutes) from the welcome to the meal and out it was a simple lovely experience. We din't have any issues with service nor quality.Everything in the fish thali was tasty and yes authentic Goan taste !! It was evenly spread to suffice your taste buds. A must visit.

sukya sungatachi(galmyachi)kismur was just like the cherry on top of the cake...loved it...
Great place for authentic goan fish thali...menu also has chicken thali amd veg thali included in it.....the fish thali had 2chapatis,bhurgi,rice,a piece of kingfish, salad, chutney, sol kadi and a vegetable... quantity was satisfactory amd the taste was just the best....
