The place is very welcoming with soothing music, nice aroma, and courteous staff. Coming to the hero, The food We've tried, Uppu Kari, Pallipalayam Chicken, Nellore prawn starter and Kongu Mutton Biriyani. We loved everything, but the Prawn was the highlight. We also tried some of the cocktails which were recommended by the staffs, Roselle was excellent and presented well. Overall a memorable experience and will recommend Savya Rasa to all!
Absolutely loved the food n the vibe of the place. The only disappointment of the place is its service it is very slow as it is always crowded. Before visiting the place make sure you make prior reservations. The staff is super helpful.
This place have a very unique design and interior. The best South Indian food you can get in pune for sure!! It's absolutely authentic and delicious. It maintains quality of food and what more can you ask for?!! This place has never failed my taste buds and I always enjoyed coming here and having a full stomach meal. Kudos to the team.
Savya Rasa is hands down one of my most favorite restaurants in Pune. Quintessential South Indian fare that is unlike any other place in the city. Appam, Putty, Kadala Curry, Savya Rasa has the South Indian favourites and so much more to offer. With a delicious menu and various festivals like the Sea food festival and the Millet food festival, this restaurant never fails to provide a vast variety of options. Love going there to satiate all my cravings of wholesome and hearty food!
Lovely People, Awesome Food and super Ambience! Look forward to visit again.
The hospitality here at Savya Rasa is exceptional. I had to make make sure I highlight how efficient the staff here is.
I really really enjoyed the Rasam here.
The ban parota with curry is my new comfort food. The curd rice was so tasty and yummy I couldn’t stop myself from finishing it all.
I can’t wait to go back and try something more.
Highly recommend.
Visiting Savya Rasa turned out to be a highlight of dining out in this Pune trip. Really high quality food with quality ingredients, mutton with eggplant and string beans was simply divine. They accommodated special requests for ‘non spicy’ dishes for children. Staff was extremely courteous and happy to accommodate outside of menu requests. Look forward to visiting again on our next trip
A very special birthday celebration of my husband at very authentic South Indian place so called Savya Rasa. We have ordered all must try dishes and they all made our evening very tasty.
Savya Rasa is located in the koregaon park area, near starbucks coffee house. We recently visited here for having south indian food. They have decorated Christmas tree very beautifully. The entrance of this restaurant gives feels of kerlite home. The restaurant always having waiting do better book your table before visiting. We have given order on dineout app.The ambience of this restaurant is very beautiful. You will find all decorated items on typical style of kerala. The chair and table also from very old style which gives the feels of your grandparents home. They served all menu on banana leaf. We ordered the pallipalayam chicken curry with Appam. Then we ordered chetinad chicken biryani.
The food was awesome. We like the typical style of cooking which gives you home made food feeling. The cost we found little costly here.
But over all good experience.
There is an amazing variety of South Indian dishes for veggies too. Though the price falls on the costly side, it is definitely a worthy place to try in Pune. The taste is authentic and delighted by the mocktail "Vasantha Neer".
Each and every dish we ordered was 10 on 10. Loved this experience. the taste of the food was just amazing. i can't wait to go here again.
The food was fresh, delicious and authentic. I had visited with my friend from Kerala.
Right behind the Koregaon Park, Starbucks is the wonderful Savya Rasa. We visited the place for our anniversary lunch and it was worth it. The staff is knowledgeable about the menu and we went with their recommendations on starters and the main course. Everything was perfect!
Amazing South Indian non-veg cuisine, prepared to perfection served with precision. Spicy oooh!!
Need multiple visits to sample the vast array of sumptuous food!!

As they say, 'Most peerless gems are found deep inside the ocean; the deeper it is, profound the hallmark and it's magnificence'. Well, I concur and I am sure you do too. Having said that, you would also agree that all gems are mere stones unless they are cut sharp on the edges to shine, that's where the 'Master Craftsmanship' plays its most eminent role.
While the ocean is open to all and anyone who has in it to delve deep can find the treasure of such rare gems, but how would one get the dexterity of a lapidary to make sure that each of that gem turns out to be a masterpiece in itself. You must be wondering why such a heavy preface for a food write-up, it's because what I am writing about today is not mere food, it's an experience that holds the distinction of tipping your food wealth from poor to riches in just one meal !!!
It's about Savya Rasa, Pune's most celebrated 'Speciality Restaurant', unarguably so. When it comes to the South Indian Cuisine, they have set themselves the standards those are beyond gold and with every food fest they host, breaching their previous best is indeed a donnée !!!
They are hosting a Coastal Food Festival from 15th November to 30th November and it's only my good fortune that I could attend the preview for this incredible food fiesta. Needless to say that we Punekars know a thing or two about seafood, don't we, but mostly about the Malwani and the Konkani style of preparations. However this food fest takes us deep into the South Coast and present it's rarest gems in their most ethereal avatar. Ride on this fun ferry and be prepared for a joyride from the coasts of Kanara to Mangalore to Malabar to Cape Komorin to Coast Coromandel.
I would only share a glimpse of the fest here, two reasons for it; One, I am not qualified enough to give out a detailed account of this experience because of my limited knowledge of the Southern Coastal Cuisine. Second, even if I put Google to use and give you the theoretical delineation, no words could ever be more compelling than experiencing this meal yourself and step out literally besotted, as I did !!!
Look out for:
* Nandu Rasam (Crab Soup): The natural salinity of Crabs mixed with freshly grounded spices, if anything can warm the cockles of your throat to your heart, it is this soup !!! #DontMissIt
* King of the sea to the lady of the ocean; Vanjira Meen Varuval (King Fish) shallow fried on Tawa with Chettinad Masalas to the Kane (Lady Fish) Rava Fry from Mangalore are sure to rule the drools. Supreme Taste with Splendid Texture, the Hallmarks of rightly cooked fish. Top Notch !!!
Nadan Roast Squid and Yeral Varuval (Deep Fried Prawns): Enormous crunch with every munch, absolute showstoppers. Despite being overloaded with spicy condiments and marinades, both squids and prawns retained their kosher taste profile. If this ain't sheer artistry, I don't know what else is then !!!
Nandu Getti Puttu (Crab Meat): This dish for me is the epitome of 'Surgical Precision'. A little bit of salt here and there could make this dish either a Master-Piece or Master-Sleaze. The one served at Savya Rasa is an absolute marvel, kept low on salt intentionally to maintain the sweetness of crab meat. Coup de Grâce !!!
Karimeen Polichatthu (Karimeen steamed in Banana Leaf): The protagonist of coastal food from Kerala is delictably sumptuous, every bite oozing out the flavors of this atypical Fish and Banana Leaf, giving you the experience of God's own country first hand !!!
Main Course primals for me would be -
Malabar Fish Curry: Huge chunks of Seer Fish cooked in Coconut Milk, Turmeric and Kokum. Absolute #ComfortFood
Madras Fish Curry: Vatta Parai (Malabar Trevally) sourced from the southern coasts cooked in Tamarind based gravy with spicy condiments. Mop it up with the soft and fluffy Appams cooked in the traditional 'Appa Chatti' to experience what people mean when they say food trance !!!
Yeral Biriyani: This Prawn Biriyani was Chef's recommendation and it proved out be very special indeed. It tasted like nothing that I have ever tasted before, very different, very delicious. Period !!!
Savya Rasa is a major landmark in Pune's Food Scene, and if you haven't tasted their food, there can't be a better time to do so. They have put their absolute best foot forward in this food fest and it's indeed a 'Must Visit' for anyone who takes pride in calling himself a food lover.
Go and experience this Seafood Bonanza, it in itself is potent enough to turn you into a 'Thalassophile' !!!
Cheers. Ciao !!!
If you wish to explore authentic South Indian cuisine in Pune, this is your go to place.
Apart from food which covers Keralite , Chettinad etc what I found worth trying were their Cocktails and Mocktails
Which is fusion of south Indian flavors with liquor or mocktail syrups respectively.
Also the staff is very helpful in guiding you about the dishes which have typical south indian names
It is difficult to get a seat if you just walk in. Book and go or be prepared to wait. We tried the thaalis. The taste and quantity were both great
Nice ambience, authentic food, great service, and really courteous staff characterise this restaurant. Worth a visit.
The staff was very polite. Ambience was superb but the price was unbelievable! 27,000
For 18 people!
The Onam sadya was delicious. All the dishes tasted really good :) .. The payasm was bit too sweet otherwise all the other dishes was awesome:)...
Savya rasa has targeted seven different regions of south India and has picked up the local cuisine to include in the menu. The menu is differentiated in a similar way.
There were 9 course meal and à la carte option , as i was not aware of the food much I saved myself from pain of choosing.
3 varieties of(each) starters , main course , breads and desserts were served.
In starters winner for me was Urulai Podi Varuval - It had baby potatoes tossed in amazing coarse powdered masala , it was spicy and lip smacking good. The smell of asafoetida was so prominent and the flavors..ummmm...so good.
For main course best thing was Batata pathanja gassi - again a potato thing ,but very well made in coconut gravy with sprouts , curry leaves , tomato and onions. It had to be eaten with neer dosa , which was very delicate not like usual normal dosas. Also special mention to one more bread i.e. Bun Paratha , flaky texture , it was so good that I can eat it without any stew or curry.
Also rice god!!!
Vertrilai Poondu Saadam : It had betel leaves and fried garlic, it was also spicy and so flavorful , I was almost full by this time but couldn't resist asking for a second serving.
For desserts I was surprised by Kavuni Arisi halwa : it is made from Burman rice, but was brought to India by a South Indian community which is settled in Chettinad.
These are just a few things which I am writing about , other things were also good but these things were worth special mention.
Talking about service , the staff is very well trained in each and every department. very humble and polite.
Amazing food , ambiance and service definitely deserves a 5.
Getting authentic south indian food in Pune is very difficult. But, Savya Rasa so far exceeded my expectations and it is the only place I end up in when I miss home. Lovely staff and delicious food! Gongura mamsam with appam is my personal favorite here. :)
Savya - south & rasa - flavours
Basically the flavours of south . Visited this place recently and it truly was a very delightful experience!
It has a very calm and authentic ambience , also the menu is very authentic so ask the staff there to help you ! Staff is definitely very courteous !
We ordered appam , appe both turned out to be really soft and tasty !
Pricing is fine as per the area !
Must visit.
Dinner was absolutely phenomenal at Savya Rasa, this evening. Started of with Uppu Kari. Cubes of mutton in a spicy flavour. Very tender and succulent pieces. Super in taste. Main course was even better. Had their Chicken kori gassi with aapam. Probably one of the best dishes ever eaten. The chicken melted in the mouth and the curry lit up all the taste buds. Very rustic ambience and super service. The staff were very polite and knowledgeable. No wonder this restaurant was ranked once in the top 50 restaurants of India.
15th Aug 2019:
This restaurant was on mind from a long so finally visited it ... firstly d staff is really really very warm and makes u comfortable
The ambience is different nice.. there wasn't any fish dish as they don't serve Frozen fish n right now it's fish breeding season..
I apologise for not knowing the names of the dishes but will get back with the exact names soon
We ordered 2 starters n 2 gravy along with neer dosa ..
Sameer was d person who helped us order the amazing mouth watering delicious dishes....
Mocktails - Sameer suggest a roots based along wit lime juice n a different wit soda n coconut water
Starters - prawns in a coconut based style and mutton in chettinad style .....the mutton was cooked 2 perfection
Gravy - the prawns in Mangalore style with alot of spices n the chicken gravy was different in it's flavors
Neer dosa - soft n really amazing, never eaten such amazing beer dosa
Sweet dish - rice payassam : not very sweet but yet had d balance...
A must visit 2 this place
With the rains the approach to the nicely done up restaurant was a challenge. It made us apprehensive as to what to expect. As we entered the dimly lit place having exquisite artifacts and subtle decor, we were told the air-conditioning had taken a day off, however the suckers for good food that we were, caught the aromas from the kitchen and we dropped our anchor for lunch. It was worth it for us, a family of three, two hardcore carnivore and an intense Vegetarian. We were served intriguing cocktails accompanied by food cooked with heart, with fresh ingredients and choicest spices. The knowledgeable staff explained painstakingly the nuances of the food and pairing. We enjoyed our experience and happily sweated out our lunch by walking back home. Keep up the good work, your presence at Mumbai will be welcome. Good fresh fish awaits you.😊
Hailing from Chennai , I was on a hunt for a South Indian restaurant in pune - after 4 years I should tell that I've found an apt place to fulfill my satiety centre .
From typical Chettinad food to their ravishing cocktails & traditional mocktails everything was exceptional .
Also the Zomato gold experience was a boon for me .
The lip smacking dinner and the explanation of each food given by the manager of the restaurant (Sam) made it an unforgettable experience .
Everyone should experience this place atleast once
Oh this yum place! You can’t just get enough of the food.
4 Rating for this place can be split into -
5 - Food
3 - Price
They have a perfect and exquisite South Indian menu in offer. Food is very tasty. Even the ambience is good and has that Southern feel. Taking about the rates, it was overwhelming. Extremely expensive coffee (200 bucks if I remember correctly). That's atrocious.
Nostalgia ..
Must try - Mutton stew
Simply the best south indian food you can have in Pune
Great ambience
Good staff
Service bit slow when it gets crowded
But food worth the wait
Prior reservation strongly recommended
A superb dining experience , One of the best I’ve had in Pune. Starting with the ambiance , tasteful and traditional decor , they have not crowded the place with too many tables. excellent and knowledgeable staff. Coming to the food everything we had was superb not a single thing was off the mark, starting with Rasam till the desert. A great fine dine place
My my what a place .... In d lane of star bucks koregaon park.... The best appams i have had in my life till now... Veg gravy just tooo good ... This place is bit on d expensive side... But d qwality if d food is just woowwwwww
Would be more preferable for non-veg eaters
As soon as you enter the restaurant , ambience radiates tradition .
Taking about food I ordered kottu curry ,appam and bissebelle rice , I would rate it 3.5/5 for taste
Maybe the staff can be more explanatory when it comes to describing the taste and options.
Most of the items are authentic. We took a vegetarian course of food. The hospitality of the staff is exceptional and they offer customization too if you have allergies or any other diet restrictions. The place is kids friendly and location is good albeit slightly difficult to find by google maps. One star less for being too expensive for veggie food else a perfect experience.
I went last week with 6members. The welcome drink rasam was superb..we all liked the food and the way they served was good ...what I liked the most is Pallipalayam chicken and the best part is Dessert(Kavuni Arisi Halwa)!!😍
They serve authentic south indian in one section and in other section they serve ethiopian cuisine .We went to south indian section, food was really fresh and taste was really amazing.we had kootu curry along with neer dosa and appam. Neer dosa and appam was really really soft and delicious.Staff was really polite and helpful.Must Go Place!!
We loved our meal at Savya Rasa - we didn't have a table reservation, but the cheerful staff accomodated us in no time. The food was packed with flavour and served piping hot - the best part of the meal, was clearly the Dessert! :)

This place was awesome in all aspects. Amazing food, friendly staff crew and manager. Tried different cuisines (Karnataka, Tamilnadu, Kerala) based on the staff recommendation and I liked everything and as matter of fact I went there again to try more of their food. This is my place to go whenever I visit Pune.
There’s this place tucked away into the bylanes of Koregaon Park called Savya Rasa. An authentic fine dining experience with South Indian cuisine, this place has you hooked right from the “vanakkam” (welcome) at the entrance to the minimalist decor and the delicious food. The service staff knows exactly what they have and what would suit your taste buds and make good suggestions. They we’ve food on this vintage brass plate in the shape of a leaf that made me go just wow! 😍
Even though I’ve only had their Coorg Chicken (trust me, my love for spice was answered!) and the Mysore Chitranna and I was sold! Obviously I’m going to go back there to treat my taste buds to the variety they have on their menu.
Oh by the way, some delicious Mangalore bhajji with coconut chutney was on the house 😊
Loved the ambience and rasam they served as starter. We had appam and vegetable stew which was really tasty. Also the stew was thick and creamy which I loved. Overall a great experience. Must visit.
Haven been to a better south indian place then this one.
Loved the ambience. The staff was so warm polite and helpful. The food is very authentic and cooked with perfection. Had been there almost 6 months ago and still have that taste fresh in my mouth.
Best place to taste south indian cuisine. Had the best Chettinad Chicken and Kori Gassi. Both goes well with neer dosa and parotha. The price is on the higher side but the food is worth it. Also do try Venchina Mamsa koora for starters.
This is my all time favorite restaurant in Pune (very close to being my all time favorite ever anywhere in the world). This is what we ordered
1. Pallipalayam Kozhi(chicken starter)
2. Chanaga pappu vada (Bengal dal veg starter)
3. Guntur pandu mirapakaya Kodi (chicken starter)
4. Kondakadalai kozhukattai (veg stuffed starter)
5. Kalaan thirattal (mushroom curry)
6. Milagu Kozhi chettinad (chicken curry)
7. Elaneer payasam (tender coconut dessert)
8. Kavuni Arisi Halva (brown rice dessert)
Everything dish was immaculate, to a point that now I'm intrigued to know what the restaurant has to offer with the other dishes on the menu.
My humble request to the management is that they restart the buffet so everyone gets to experience a bit of the amazing offering at this restaurant.
Ambiance
This place is a visual treat ... right from the decor, to the kalamkari paintings, to the brass utensils and cutlery, the heavy solid wood furniture... is a must experience.
Food
This place is a paradise for south indian cuisine fanatic. Every states specialities have been presented beautifully but the taste is mild and coconutty, which not all south indians prefer.
Price
Yes, this place is a fine dining restaurant but the quantity is way too less, we ordered the Kootu curry, which is a vegetable coconut stew served with only 2 small appam which was priced ₹399. Extra appam costed ₹199. Royyala iguru ( prawns fry) costed ₹699/ 8 pieces. Chettinad mutton biryani costed ₹799 for what is normally served as a half portion biryani.
Service
This is where everything goes haywire. The service is dead slow. It took minimum 20-25 mins for our starters to be served, another 25 mins for the main course, another 25 mins for the desserts. This was the only complaint that almost all the tables around us complained about. Except the manager almost all the staff have no clue about the menu ( as the menu is huge). When we’d inquired about some dish, the staff started reading the dish description from the menu and then the manager comes to the rescue to guide and describe the elaborate menu.
Ambiance 5/5
Food 4/5
Price 3/5
Service 2.5/5
I am not much of a review giving person, but this place compelled me to do!!!
It offered more than I expected. The authenticity of the south Indian food was maintained, this place will show you that there is much more to south cuisine and not just the long associated idli & dosa. I would really like to thank the cook for the soulful cooking!!
The place well crafted giving the feel of an another era of south adding up to the food....so peaceful. The staffs were so polite and warm. Keep it up guys😊
Awesome experience. Superlative authentic South Indian food straight out of traditional homes in South India. It is also set in a home like setting which makes the experience even more authentic. Brought back all the fond memories of the time I lived in Bangalore and travelled to Tamil Nadu and Kerala. The bisi bele bhat was as good as it comes as was the ulli theeyal. The chutney paniyarams were different in a really nice way. The baby potato varuwal was fiery but outstanding. One may argue that curd rice is curd rice but it isn’t, until you’ve tried it here! I went with a vegetarian guest so I never tried any of the seafood. But this experience has left me craving for much more and I will be back!
One of the best indian cuisine fine dining places to eat. Anytime better than than Conrad, westinn and 5 star restaurants
Great service, explanation of each dish and everything is freshly cooked.
They add 10% service charge which you should look out for. Absolute value for money
Must visit and recommend.

Excellent and authentic food with polite service and homely ambience. The drinks are some of the best I have ever had and the dishes are flavourful and meat extremely well cooked. Overall a great dining experience and I am definitely going back to try more of their extensive menu.
Amazing place, very tasty food, great ambience and superb staff. I would probably try neer dosa instead of appam the next time I visit which I surely will!
Absolutely fantastic... The choice of South Indian cuisine is really good and one of its kind in pune. The service is excellent and consistent...,
A must visit place for South Indian food lovers . Also Loved the concept, very different food and the service . Book your table in advance as you might have to wait otherwise for a longer duration .
Ambience: Very homely. Every table seems like a home dining table. Artefacts from Southern part of India is lavishly laid out everywhere in the restaurant. Overall, very pleasing and happy.
Food: True culinary treat for fans of authentic South Indian food. Among starters, tried Mini Meen Polichathu and Chanaga Pappu Vada. Both dishes were rockstar. Right amount of spice and great presentation. Main course was Mango Daal, rice, appam, Kottu curry. All dishes were quite good.
However the showstopper for me was the Betel Whiskey Sour. I have not had a Whiskey cocktail any better than this. Must try here.
Service: Decent. Main courses take time to prepare so place your orders in advance. The staff is quite courteous.
Overall: A visit that will be remembered for quite some time.
A restaurant that seems to be built inside a home. Not suitable for people who can't take the stairs -unless their ground floor section is open. Do call to make a reservation and check the seating if this is a concern.
Ambience is simple and understated. Staff is well versed in English and Hindi even though most are from across South India. Ask them for recommendations if you aren't sure what to order. We ordered:
1. Royyala iguru -prawns in masala (flavor: 4/5, presentation: 3/5)
2. Uppu Kari - lamb dish in tomato sauce. Very very well made. Super soft melt in the mouth! (Flavor:4.5/5, presentation: 3/5)
3. thakkali meen - fish in red tomato gravy (flavor: 3.5/5 presentation: 3/5)
4. Idiyappa idli
5. Appam
6. Nannari sherbet - a flavored coconut water drink, must try!
Check out my photos to see these dishes
Savya Rasa serves you authentic South Indian Cuisine. Generally when it comes to South Indian Cuisine people think about idli and dosa but this place offers you a variety of South Indian Dishes. Food, Ambiance, Staff everything was amazing. A must try place for everyone.
Good food . Great ambience. Most authentic kerela food in Pune. Kindly ask the ordering person to recommend your order if you are unsure about it. They recommend the best.
This place will give you real feel of South India. You will get all type of South Indian food here. Ambience and hotel staff hospitality is really great. Food is really very awesome. Must recommend to foodie lovers.
The best chettinad kerala flavour I had the....the starters to the dessert it was supper good. MUST TRY bun phrotta, pallinatu chicken and many other dishes with south Indian flavours. The seating space is what makes the vibe and the attenders are so well dressed in a south Indian manner totally a place where we can enjoy with family and friends. BAR &FOOD
Savya Rasa is definitely worth a try. Excellent food and warm hospitality. They take effort to explain each dish to you and special compliments to Sam.
Excellent food and really very good service .Service very feast and all staff helpful and attentive caring service . Next time before coming my all female
The lunch on Thursday was probably my fifth visit to Savya Rasa and I will keep going there every time I am in Pune. The ambiance is fitting to the food they serve. The staff is super friendly and more importantly, extremely knowledgable about every dish in the menu and not afraid to suggest, and at times even insist, which dishes pair well. Listen to them and you won't regret it. A special mention for Sam, who has a glow on his face while suggesting dishes and Suresh also knows his stuff very well. But the real hero is the food. My favourite is the Venchina Mamsa Koora (mutton) with the bun parota. The Batata Pathanja Gassi is probably the best potato dish I have had across cuisines and the Curry Leaf Mojito is a superb Indianisation of the classic cocktail. The other cocktails are great too. It's not cheap to eat there but it's totally worth it.
The experience was amazing right from the start of booking a table through Zomato. Make sure you book a table specially on weekends as the place is in high demand. The restaurant ambience is so authentic with lovely paintings and wood work. The food is served in a Thali with a banana leaf. For those who are not aware of South Indian cuisine may find it a tongue twister but the dishes are very well explained that you will know exactly what you want. The meal starts with a bowl of tasty rassam along with papadams. Every dish had a different taste and aroma. In starters the pan fried potatoes were superb and so was the prawn starter . In main course the mushroom with thick gravy along with appams are a delight. We felt the service was slow but I think it is their style of serving so that we relish each course slowly and enjoy more
I have given a star less just because of the service issues.Rest is amazing about this place,be it,food, ambience, staff. They server authentic South Indian cuisine which is very difficult to get in Pune. You may want to take help of staff in selecting food.Service can definitely be improved as it takes lot of time to cook but delay in service definitely breaks the momentum.I would suggest to take prior booking before going.A definitely must go place if you are South Indian food lover.
To start with they served rasam and papad .. Rasam was outstanding ! . I had to ask for additional serving of it .
Starters were equally good ( Kuzhi paniyaram , baby potato fry and dal vada ) ..
For the main course we had ordered Gassi and kambu roti , Gassi deserves a special mention and do not miss it . So was kambu roti crispy and cooked to perfection .
Overall this is the only high end southern indian cuisine restaurant , Dont miss it .
This is one of the best places to enjoy good food, nice carnatic music and relax. Nellore, Musuru, Malabar and Chettinad Cuisines are pretty authentically made!
Ambience is super. Food is authentic. Service is okay. I recommend this place to everyone who wants to have authentic South Indian cuisines. The dishes are very close to authentic ones we get at south.
Had been here for team lunch ... authentic south indian food without any customisation ....service is outstanding . ..too many food items in decided menu .. go for a la carte. ... Best is rasum, and the drink we had .. suggested by the restaurant .
One day the best experiences of my life. My god! Starting from a variety and the creativity of this restaurant to its exclusiveness I’m in love with the food, the flavours as well as the the atmosphere with the hospitality they provide. The cocktails here are one of a kind with a hint of creativity and immense taste. A must visit guys if you really want to explore the flavours of the south. It’s a little on the expensive end but worth it!
The food is amazing here, authentic south Indian cuisine, breaks the perception of south Indian is just Dosa or idli or Sambhar. This is all types of dishes, and each of the menu item has different taste. If you are a foodie, this is one place you should visit multiple times to explore all the dishes
Authentic South Indian special dishes. Thalasari biryani was tasty, chutney was way awesome. Other rasam found less in quantity.
Heavy on pocket but it's a tasty affair.
They seem to have parking issues.
The place was so sophisticated and clean. I like the way they wear traditional and make it more relative, yes it’s a proper south indian Chettinad food restaurant. Polite and has very good service. I love the iddiyapam and neer dosa they serve . Its not very costly but not too low on cost but yes its worth it 🔥🔥
Authentic style of serving food on banyan leaf is so soothing. Ambience is good. Must visit once.
Recently visited here and tasted menu all the way from Tamil Nadu state.
Ambiance here is very beautiful and it gives you old days vibes. You will get food on banana leaf which is very authentic. We tried chicken curry with bun parotta and it was delicious.
Chicken soup was mild spicy.
Tried mutton biryani, quantity was enough for 2 people.
If you are looking for authentic food from South India then you must try this place. Highly recommended.
Savya Rassa is an absolute gem! We recently had the pleasure of visiting during their Chettiar Table festival, dedicated to the flavors of Chettinad cuisine. The culinary journey was nothing short of remarkable!
The attention to detail and authenticity showcased by Chef Giridharan Kalidasan truly impressed us. Each dish, from the tantalizing Nandu Idi Rasam to the mouthwatering Chetti Mutton Biryani, was a testament to their commitment to preserving and presenting traditional Chettinad recipes.
The starters, including the Karuvepillai Yeral Varuval and Kozhi Varattu Kari, were bursting with flavors and left us craving for more. The VaHai Poo Vadai, with its unique combination of lentils and banana flower, was a delightful surprise.
Moving on to the main course, we savored the aromatic Chettinad Chicken Curry and relished the perfectly cooked Bun Paratha and Steamed Ponni Rice. The Ennai Kathrikkai Kozhambhu added a burst of flavors to the meal, complementing the other dishes beautifully.
To satisfy our sweet tooth, we indulged in the Ashka Halwa and Nungu Nurukals. The Ashka Halwa was a heavenly delight, while the Nungu Nurukals with ice apple chunks offered a refreshing twist.
The ambiance at Savya Rassa exudes a homely and authentic vibe, making you feel like you've stepped into a traditional South Indian home. The staff, dressed in South Indian attire, adds an extra touch of charm to the dining experience.
In conclusion, Savya Rassa provides an exceptional Chettinad culinary journey, and the ongoing Chettiar Table festival is a must-visit. The combination of flavors, warm ambiance, and attentive staff make it an unforgettable dining destination. Don't miss out on this delightful experience!
A food festival you just cannot miss !!!
The Chettiar Table @savyarasa !
A celebration of the rich culinary heritage of Chettinad cuisine!
From June 29th to July 13th .
.
The menu showcases outstanding dishes such as Nandu Idi Rasam, Kandatippili Rasam, Kanadukathan Meen Varuval and so much more. All the recipes are extremely unique, flavourful and bring the delicacies of Chettinad right to our table. Highly recommended to try this food festival.
Moreover to make this experience even more fantastic, the hospitality of this place is impeccable. The team is aware and recommends you food as per your preferences. A must visit.
We celebrated my friend's birthday there. We ordered Kerala cuisine for veg food n Andhra non-veg food. The food was delicious. 😋 Loved the stew and appam the most. The staff was dressed in traditional veshti and shirt. The paintings n ambience was soothing with dim lights. Lots of steps everywhere a little difficult for elderly folks. Valet parking is available.
Ambience is perfect, South Indian music was playing in background, typical south India wooden furniture and colour scheme.
Food, starters were ok ok, we liked the cocktails, in main course we tried chicken chettinad with parotha and appam, parotha was fabulous. In desert kids loved ice apple pudding and Ashoka Halava.
Note: please book the table before going.
Visited this place recently for Chettiar Table. Tried most of the dishes including chicken, mutton and fish along with biryani.
Taste of each and every dish was very good.
Service was prompt. Highly recommend place.
