Best ever for south indian dishes. Authentic South India food only. Awesome taste. Visiting the place from 35 years.
Good food. Service is always perfect, food is always on point, and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. Always looking forward to this place with my friends, dosa is exceptionally good!
Food 4/5
Service 4/5
Atmosphere 4/5
Waiting period 20 to 30 min
This was my second time in hotel Vaishali with 20 mins wait time for a Sunday afternoon lunch.
For starters, we ordered veg cutlet which is served with green coconut chutney and chopped onions, it was refreshing and fulfilling.
We had mysore masala dosa, which is a must try if you come here for the first time since it's their speciality, it is made in pure ghee and tastes absolutely delicious. The Dosa is not crunchy, it is soft.. Only thing is it has too much ghee and it gets heavy for 1 person.
We also ordered masala dosa, it was classic masala with crunchy dosa, perfect size and perfect for 1 person.
Overall experience :
Food 9/10
Service 9/10
Ambience 8/10 since it's too crowded
it is a very good place for food service is also great. Rates are also the reasonable only thing is. It is always rushed and very crowded. You will have to wait each and every time you visit the place.
It is on of the city's top most, reputed dine in destination. In peak hours rush is observed, so is waiting period.
They use quality raw materials. Taste is mesmarizing. Rates are on higher side and is natural.
Vaishali in Pune is a culinary gem, offering an authentic South Indian dining experience that transcends expectations. From the moment you step in, the vibrant ambiance sets the stage for a delightful journey into South Indian flavors. The menu is a masterpiece, boasting a diverse array of dosas, idlis, and uttapams that are nothing short of perfection. Each dish is a symphony of spices, skillfully crafted to tantalize the taste buds. The attentive staff and prompt service enhance the overall dining experience. Vaishali is not just a restaurant; it's a celebration of South Indian cuisine that leaves an indelible mark on your palate. It is a landmark of Pune.
This is our old favourite when were in Pune. This time we travelled all the way from Bengaluru for work so thot to try this after decades also the taste and consistency is same in dosa .They dosa are so large and value for money. Service as usual fantastic
The food here is very tasty. There is also a good variety of South Indian dishes.
The restaurant is clean and the atmosphere is lively. But, it takes some time to get a table. Parking can also be a bit of an issue, especially if you have a four-wheeler.
The service is quick but quite rude. The waiters have a bad attitude and are constantly trying to rush you.
The food is a bit pricey, but the location and quality compensate for that. Overall it is a good restaurant to go to with family or friends.
According to a local Punekar, "Vaishali is not just a location, it's an emotion." I had heard a lot about this place but never had the chance to grab a table due to the crowds. Whenever I passed by, I always saw a group of people waiting for a table. Fortunately, I managed to secure a place this time around.
While the prices were on the higher side, I must say that the quality of the food and service was amazing. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience and will definitely visit again in the future.
What can I say about this iconic south indian eatery which the city of Pune is known for!
Mysore dosa is a must-try served with their fingerlicking sambhar and chutney! The batata wada is a family favourite. Their Sabudana wada is the epitome of deliciousness.. Crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. Don't miss it.
Pair all this up with a filter coffee or cold coffee or their fantastic chai if you're a tea lover.
Overall, order anything blindly and you won't be disappointed.
This place serves delicious South Indian food but is usually very crowded.... However... Wait is worth the money
One of the iconic eatery place to visit in Pune. The name is legendary so is the taste. All the staff is working from past 30+ years, they are friendly and service is also top notch. The only drawback is that the waiting time too much. But no one can beat them in the taste.
The food was very good and the price is also very reasonable. Must try this place if you are in Pune. We tried Mysore Dosa and cold coffee. Dosa was nice but the cold coffee was just ok.
The only best place for south indian food in Pune. We had cheese onion uttapa, mysore masala dosa, masala dosa, cheese chilli toast, and coffee. The coffee is amazing something to die for.
One of the iconic places in Pune, where people have been going since ages to have all types of South Indian food and other dishes too.
It has the best Mysore Masala (cheese) dosa, Onion Butter Uttappa, idli, batata wada, medu wada, veg cutlet, dahi wada, sabudana wada and SPDP (only after 5 p.m) and many more tasty dishes.
Also try thier delicious filter coffee and mosambi juice.
If you ever visit Pune this is one place you must visit. Ask any Punekar and they will tell you how great it is due to their sentimental value attached to this place. You might find it mediocre but it's the vibe, so do try once.
Overall,
Affordable prices.
Good and fast service.
Polite staff.
Delicious food.
Clean and hygienic.
Parking not available. (Especially for cars)
While the restaurant is seriously overhyped, it serves simple and fresh food at all times. The crowd and the waiting times don’t seem real for the fare but then that’s how the place is! Their menu is a huge spread with the most sought after being fast food. Variety of sandwiches, South Indian dishes, Pav bhaji and cutlets are a thing here. The quality is decent and prices are affordable. The service is fast and good. The waiters are polite. Located right on the busy Fergusson college road, it continues to gather crowds - and hold its place!
