The is a very old & charming family restaurant on the famous FC road of Pune.
It serves very delicious South Indian Snacks & Excellent coffee. Their Dahi Wada is also very popular.
Kudos to the poha, it was really good. Uthapam and set dosa were too decent

I really liked the place. A perfect place for having breakfast , especially South Indian food. I had the Maysore Cheese Masala Dosa and Cheese Onion Utaapa. They were amazing and especially the Sambar was too good 😘😘. I definitely recommend this place 👌

Even though its underrated the food here is excellent... The Rawa Dosa is a must have dish here, also lunch thali is recommended... good for a evening snack or breakfast!

Whenever we are at FC Road in Pune, one visit to Vaishali is always on the to-do. We always used to plan on trying out Roopali (situated just few steps from Vaishali on the same road) on some occasion but our obsession with Vaishali always overpowered our plans for Roopali and we never took that step. Until last weekend.
For those unaware, Roopali is as iconic as its sister restaurant Vaishali, both being popular Udupi restaurants in Pune on FC Road and owned by the same family group.
It was during our last visit to Pune (last weekend) that we finally managed to visit Roopali for a quick and light dinner. It was around 9 pm but after a few minutes of wait, we managed to get a table. Roopali is a simpler and smaller version of Vaishali, with its non-AC seating and lack of ambience. But when it came to food, we realised gradually that both restaurants were as good as on par. We called for the heart shaped Veg Cutlets and the crispy Rava Dosa, both of which were excellent. The chutneys of both the dishes were absolutely different and the sambar was good too, thankfully not the usual sweet types. We ended our meal with some nice and hot filter coffee, one glass of which was good enough to be shared between two.
I'm so glad to have finally done Roopali and I'm pretty positive I'll be going again, whenever the South Indian cravings set in.
Best filter coffee in town. They actually make it strong on request. Love the restaurant. Nice dosas as well. Authentic South Indian. This restaurant is a must visit just to try its coffee.

This is one of the most favourite places in my city. The staff is wonderful, location is great, coffee is amazing and the food is top notch! One of the few places where I don't need to look at the menu card because I know everything there. (Except the prices, which keep increasing steadily).
But the regulars (like me) have some kind of irrational connection with this place and keep coming here irrespective of everything else. A place for all ages, sometimes you may have to share a table with strangers. And if you keep your ears open you may hear the patrons discussing confidently on various topics - from world politics to sports to theatre and films. Everyone here is an expert :P
If you are looking for tasty South Indian snacks followed by coffee your search should end here. Been here many times and all preparations are yummy. A must visit not once but those many times you feel.

They were courteous enough to book a table for 10 over call even during rush afternoon hours.
Delivery of any kind of Dosa was super quick within 5 mins.
Taste and quantity/quality is awesome. I loved the fact that Sambhar was authentic and Not typical sweet Puneri style. They serve additional if required. Also try Lemon Soda during summers.
Ambience is a bit of an issue because the place is old and cramped up. There is always a queue waiting for you to get up. So if you decide to go, only visit for the food and not to spend a quality time with someone.

This is an amazing place serving food lovers over decades. The best South Indian food you can get in the city. The most authentic taste of Sambar you get here. I must have been to FC road a hundred times, but this place is always full. Fortunately, this time a got a table quickly.
It was late evening and early dinner time, so we ordered sabudana vada, poori bhaji, aam panna and chai.
Vada was amazing, crispy on the outside and soft inside. Perfect balance of flavours. Poori bhaji was amazing too.
Aam panna hai cardamom, but I believe that’s how people like it in Pune. I have had similar one at Goodluck too. The waiter mentioned that they don’t prepare aam panna and get it from outside.
Chai was good, service was super quick and I can’t wait for my next visit.

This place doesn't need any introduction. This restaurant has been her on FC road since ages. People old and young frequently come here to enjoy tasty, simple, satisfying South Indian food. I have heard tales from senior citizens of how they used to come here for coffee and idli dosa back on their days so many years ago. I think it is one of the oldest restaurants of Pune. This place is full no matter what day or what time of the day it is. On Sundays it is especially crowded as people come here to have their Sunday breakfast after their morning run or cycling or visit to tekdi. There is lot of laughter and happiness shared over coffee and amazing food.
After many days I visit Roopali for breakfast. I had #ravadosa which was crispy and soft at the same time, #meduwada which was floating in a bowl full of #sambhar and #vegetable #cutlet with green #chutney
And of course there was a glass full of filter coffee to boost me with extra energy for the day ahead.
I don't know why debit cards are not accepted here.... South Indian Delight. You will definitely love the food. Ghee Idli is a must try. I would recommend filter coffee instead of tea #TheFoodieTraveler

A fast serving south indian joint famous or known as place for senior citizens but you have to visit many times. In general you order anything here, dosas, uttapa, idli, coffee all will be good. But my personal favorite is meduvada sambar. When medu wadas float in that sambar they are heavenly 😍 try once for sure
What can I say about this place? It's like my second home....
South Indian food is always recommended and you get it any time. Signature thing in South Indian food is their unchanged taste of chatni sambar.
Apart from this I would recommend thali which has typical flavour of byadgi mirch and blend of South Indian spices. It has 3sabjis rasam sambar 3 chapatis / 5poori rice pickle papad and curd.

Starting with taste and quality it deserves 5 star rating, Roopali is an South Indian Cuisine restaurant majorly famous for breakfast at FC Road, but they should add on some facilities like AC sitting and need some betterment on their interiors and ambience.
We ordered cheese Mysore Dosa , Vada Sambhar Chutney and Bread Butter. The only improvement in food they need to make is the bread felt a little dried up
The best Mysore Dosa i have had in recent past , the quantity of Cheese was also upto the mark .
Special mention of green coconut chutney they served with Dosa was extra ordinary

All in all a very good breakfast experience refreshing the taste buds

Roopali Veg restaurant on FC Road is a very old venture and very famous for its locality and premium services ! Do visit the place for some great early morning breakfast. The Poha and Upma here are worth trying. 😋

Ambience and Service- Ambience is both indoor and outdoor. I prefer sitting out on a nice cold Sunday morning sipping my filter Kapi :) The arrangements are minimalistic but the service is damn fast. You ask for it and you have it!
Food- Almost everything on their menu is delicious. I'm a fan of their Coconut chutney and Sambar.
All in all- great family or friends place to have a sumptuous breakfast!

We had a proper dinner thali. The food quality was excellent and served to us hot. The staff was also polite and promptly served us the food. Our thali consisted of 2 sabjis, 1 rasam( lovely taste and was hot enough to please you during the winter season), 1 sambar, 1 curd, papad, pickle, onion, rice and roti. The curd was a bit sour for my liking but overall the thali was really filling. Rasam was really a standout dish in the thali and suggest my followers to have a quick bite at this place whenever near. The place actually is recommended for having authentic south indian breakfast items that really goes easy on the stomach.
So overall on the basis of my experience at this place I rate this place 4/5 and would give an additional 0.5 rating for the prompt service. I thank the owner for providing me a good experience and time at the place and also serving lovely food.

Roopali has been my go to place for South Indian when I’m near the Deccan area for years & years .Yes prefer it to Vaishali for South Indian. Taste has been consistent throughout & best part is the service out there. My default order there is Sada dosa & tomato omelette. Love their sambhar & chutney as well. My go to place 😁

Visited this restaurant to have breakfast. Tried idali chatani and medu wada along with sambar. Taste was amazing. Very good place for breakfast. They also served complimentary sweet during Diwali time.
One of the oldest restaurant located at FC Road and favorite amongst all Punekars. I have visited this place multiple times and all their south indian dishes are worth of each single bite.
Try out their Mysore Masala Dosa and cheese Uttappa with the typical taste of coconut chutney and sambar. One can definitely go for filter coffee along with above stuff.Keep a buffer time of 30 mins at least for waiting especially on weekends.

One more iconic place on FC Road with a big fan following amongst punekars and people visiting pune. We went there early morning on Saturday and as usual waited for 15-20 minutes to get a table.
Ordered for Masala Dosa, Mysore Masala Dosa, Sambhar Vada and Sabudana Vada. Both the dosas came accompanied with yummy coconut chutney. The dosas were crisp and sambhar was piping hot. Medu vadas were fluffy and on our request came dunked in piping hot sambhar. Excellent taste. Sabudana vadas were also very flavourful, not very oily and green chillies provided that extra flavour. It came accompanied with sweet curd.
Finally we rounded off our breakfast with some excellent filter coffee which is one of the star attraction at Roopali. Excellent food, casual ambiance, quick service and excellent value for money.

So basically there is no need to praise this restaurant but i just want to share what i feel about it. Roopali on FC Road is the best restaurant to try out south indian breakfast items like idli, wada, masala dosa etc. This resturant never disappoints you and has not only maintained its quality but has improved it over the years. The brothers over there are really very polite and give us a warm welcome and they do the most basic thing immediately, which is expected in any restaurant i.e serving you a glass of water as soon as you sit on the table. The green chutney is so delicious that i need to order an extra one (no charges included) because it just doesn't satisfy your taste buds.

Go to place for rassam rice and Sathe coffee, Roopali's famed layered bitter black coffee. Taste seldom varies from Vaishali. However, it is easier to get a table at Roopali and the place is quieter too despite being on FC Road.

It is one of my preferred places to have south Indian food. I have been visiting this place since my college days and they serve excellent quality food. The sambar and chutney served over here is is superb in taste and similar to their sister concern restaurant Vaishali. Although I feel it is much better and balanced in Roopali. I have tasted almost everything from the menu but I really I like the Masala Dosa and Veg Cutlet and always make sure that I have these two dishes in my every visit. Service has always been exceptional over here. One of the Must visit place in Pune.

Very underrated restaurant.The food is tasty and affordable compared to vaishali.The pav bhaji and south indian dishes are a must try. The veg thali was average but the puris very the best part of it. They have started to serve chole bhature now,yet to try that though.

Coming here since early 80s. The taste is not changed at all since then. Had an opportunity to visit again after 5 years. Same ambiance, taste, quantity and cleanliness.
This time we had thali and dahi vada.
Their thali is affordable and sufficient with full of nutrients. You can opt in for pooris or chapatis. You have to have this if you come here often and never have had this.
Dahi vada was typical South Indian with sweet dahi. Was soaked well in dahi.
