Malaka Spice is one of those places where the food is just disturbingly delicious. It moves you to such a degree that you are left wondering if anything you eat in the future will ever taste this good again.
I have visited on several occasions and now, am confined to ordering for delivery. The food has always, consistently, been excellent. Two of my favourite appetisers here are the Top Hats and the Chicken Murtabak. Every bite of a "top hat" is a shock to the senses, in terms of texture and flavour. Never been a fan of sprouts but in this, it definitely works. The chicken murtabak is just crazy happy food - can't go wrong with fried pockets of minced meat. So good.
Must also recommend the Chicken Kari Kapitan - a thick, dreamy coconut-y gravy with bites of boneless chicken. Definitely order the roti jhala (4 a plate) to go with it. The roti jhala is magnificent, aesthetically (the lace-like structure is lovely), and also so pleasing to the palate. It's unarguably the perfect thing to sop up the decadent kari kapitan - a legit party in your mouth!
If you are a seafood fan, this place is a must visit. I loved the butter garlic prawns, very juicy and sumptous treat for your taste buds! Mutton chops is a must have here if you like mutton dishes. Burmese khao suey was good too. To sum up my meal, i ordered a MS special brownie with ice cream.
Overall, a 5/5 dinind experience in terma of ambience, taste and service. Would visit again soon 👍🏼😁
The ambience here is just right. I'm not a sushi fan, but thought I'd give it a try this time, and I'm glad I did. Absolutely loved it! The butter garlic prawns and main course spread that we ordered were amazing. Even the dips on the side were worth relishing! Highly recommended!
The Lotus Stem Chips with the Chilly Honey dip are fabulous...other dishes that we tasted on our visit Khau Suey, Crispy Noodles..
Malaka is an excellent place for anyone looking out for a South East Asian Cuisine experience. The food and its flavours taste great with just the right with the blend of spices, flavours and balance. The food feels fresh and hot and just the presentation works as an appetizer. The portions are decent, service excellent and its priced appropriately. You won't feel let down by the food, ambience or the bill.
Do try it once...highly recommend this place.
Have been to Malaka umpteen times n have reviewed it too,but this time decided to try their lunch buffet priced at rs699...yes 699!!! Was sceptical for sure, about the dishes that will be served but malaka never ceases to surprise.it had their regular dishes, the top hats, the red and the green curries, the starters, stir fries, everything and the desserts too.and did I forget to mention unlimited alcohol(rum, vodkas n drought :😍😍. All in all worth every penny.no wonder it was almost packed on a weekday. It’s a steal. A million times better than the other buffets priced above 1k. Malaka rocks
We went for buffet at this place. The vegetarian buffet had good options. Each and every dish that was served on our plate, tasted heavenly!
For starters There were crispy chilli tofu, pumpkin chips (must try and the best), spring rolls (the flavors were good) and pumpkin salad with peanuts (a fresh taste)
For main course, we had sambhal (the veggies tasted fresh and had an amazing combination with the Roti), Rice, Veg curry, Thai Noodles. There roti was also crispy and soft at the same time.
We ended our buffet with A litchi dessert (was too sweet and I don’t have a sweet tooth) and Brownie with ice cream (this was like a cherry on top for our buffet).
What I didn’t like was that the service was slow and the staff wasn’t taking our orders promptly, we had to continuously look for then and ask for the dishes.
Overall the food experience was amazing! I was flabbergasted with their vegetarian options and taste. A must visit place.
This place never fails to impress. Year over year consistent, excellent tatse, same awesome service, reasonable price for the offering. It is the only restaurant in Pune that I have no hesitation in rating 5 stars. Ambience is awesome. They have valet for the ongoing parking issue for all Baner joints by the way so don't change your plan to visit here just for that. There are several oriental cuisine choices in Pune now but I can say they have a long way to go if they want to beat Malaka Spice consistently year over year. Keep it up guys..
This place has beautiful ambience and decor too. I instantly fellin love with the place, We loved the dumplings here both vegetarian and chicken. Must go if your looking to relax and enjoy good food
The Hallmark of any great organization is that it will continuously strive to improve, innovate, take impartial customer feedback, never try to manipulate scores and ratings to present a rosy picture to the outside world when things inside may not be so good.
Malaka Spice to me is the epitome of customer service simply because of the way they engage their patrons and work closely with customers to ensure that nothing but the best makes it to the Malaka Menu.
If they encounter a negative review or a constructive review, they always try a service recovery without threatening the person sharing the experience with lawsuits and defamation suits , neither do they go about threatening to shut down the blogger community or asking them to get any certification to share their experiences.
They have always believed in the co-existence of patrons and restaurants and in the genuine process of working on customer feedback.
My first #foodtasting invite from Malaka almost 3 years ago was an honor and many many tasting sessions later, the latest invite for the winter menu tasting still brought a smile and a feeling of pride.
A Malaka Spice food tasting is unlike any other typical food tasting where the endeavor is not your feedback but the eyeballs you can grab for the restaurant through your blogs/Instagram/Zomato/Facebook followers.
They're the only place who give you a pen and paper along with a printed menu for feedback during a tasting and then calibrate amongst themselves basis your feedback a day later.
They're also the only place that lets you interact with the staff, chefs and freely share your feedback, share your suggestions/opinions to make any particular dish better.
They're also the only place who will strike a dish off the menu if it doesn’t meet the Malaka standards.
The tasting panel comprised some veterans and I hold most of them in high esteem not because they have 10000 followers on Instagram but because they've earned the right to be on that panel due to their respect for food and the depth in knowledge of food.
The Winter Menu is designed keeping in mind the natural human behavior of looking for warmth in cooler climates, therefore we were not surprised to find grills and smoked meats along with some soul comforting soups and curries on the menu.
The Gaeng Som Soup was a Chicken Broth soup with the tang of tamarind, it immediately tickled the throat and flushed down the irritating cough.
The Korean Fish Cake Soup had beautiful chunks of fish in an extremely flavorful broth. Both the soups would be amazing during the winter chill of Pune.
Among the Salads, the Roasted Duck Salad and the Korean Green Salad were outstanding with crunchy farm fresh vegetables.
The Banh Trang Nuong - Chicken and The Banh Trang Nuong - Prawns didn’t work for me because the description said they were Vietnamese Grilled Rice Paper Pizzas but when the final dish came, they were more of crepes or rolls. Also felt under-seasoned. Also the mind is conditioned to expect a commercial looking pizza rather than a roll or a crepe. Maybe re-branding the dish and re-launching it as a Vietnamese Paper Roll might work.
The Clay Oven Roasted Duck was inconsistent, some of us received pieces that were wonderfully done whereas the ones I tasted were under-done and therefore hard to bite into. A little consistency in grilling it to perfection with the right char would make this an unbeatable dish. Duck Meat is tough to work with anyway.
The Grilled Chicken and Korean Fire Chicken were spot on though with the right char and were grilled to perfection.
Cambodian Tribal Clay Pot Cola Chicken was an intriguing dish with an interesting history of how it was conceived to impress guests by cooking chicken in Coca Cola (A luxury in those days) in a Clay Pot. The glaze on the chicken was beautiful and the meat was cooked perfectly.
The Vietnamese Grilled Snapper was a sight to behold and the accompanying sauce was fantastic. The size of the fish was bigger than my palm and the meat was flaky and soft. Loved this.
The Cambodian char grilled lamb ribs had the signature touch and perfection of Lamb Chops of Malaka and the Jakarta Spicy Mud Crab also stood out for preserving the sanctity of crab meat while adding flavors that complement.
In the desserts, the Key Lime Pie and Chocolate Baked Cheese Cake were tried and tested recipes.
Praful is a genius with a touch of madness that separates him from the rest and the culture that he has created in Malaka will ensure that Malaka continues to set the bar of excellence and innovation in the food industry.
Most ingredients in Malaka Spice are sourced from Cherish Farm where they grow food organically. Even the wood used in the grills like Tamarind, AMba, Babul and Mulberry were sourced from the farm. Each wood brings its own flavor to the meat being grilled.
The Winter Menu is available in Koregaon Park and Baner from 18th Nov. Do give it a try.
To start with, a wonderful place with splendid ambience. The floor above the entrance has a pretty romantic couples space with a non interrupting view of the western Pune.
Reception and other staff is courteous and welcoming.
Food was finger licking good with as mentioned inspired from and not imitating from Malay, Thai food.
Starters - Golden fried wings was extravagantly tasty with its tangy lemongrass Malay flavor.
Fire cracker prawns were an equal delight that had an Indian chat remix. Both the starters must try!
Mains - Having been to Malaysia I had, to my dismay, missed a few of the must try dishes - kari kapitan and Roti Canai. And I must say Malaka spice made me relive the Malaysian taste in somewhat its own way! The sweet and spicy thick kari kapitan curry surely made my day - again a must try. Malaysian shredded herbal rice was an average but went well along with the kari.
But then the obvious downsides -
1. All such great experiences won't come cheap, ~3k₹ for 2 (included a glass of Belgian wit, Independence brewing Co. Beer)
2. Tummy overflow error!
If you love non-veg food, then you can give a try here. Starters were amazing especially the shrimp ones. Veg food was simply not good here.
It was our first time visiting this restaurant after hearing a lot about it. And to our relief it did live up to our expectations. The food was exceptionally good and the quantity more than enough for 4 adults. The staff were courteous and helpful. The ambience was a bit noisy.
However, I felt that the alcoholic drinks were quite strong to the taste.
Celebration ... it was my mom’s 75th birthday. She fondly recalls how she enjoyed her 70th birthday with her two daughters and their extended families at Malaka Spice, KP. The impression lingers, wasn’t surprised when She suggested, she wants to visit again, and we readily agreed😊
We are big fans of Malaka Spice food, visiting a decade + yrs This was however our first visit to the Baner outlet.
We were polite customers you see! We took the menu cards offered (we knew what we wanted to eat😜) And then each one rattled off the starter name, they were yearning to devour. My mom is the only vegetarian, so I was assigned the task to order and she was happy.
Round of drinks included #Malaka_Sling , #Paradise_Passion both mocktails and some Gin.
The signature starters ordered :
Chicken_Dumplings : Delight! 😋😋😋
Veg_crunchy_rolls 👌👌👌
Grilled_chicken_skewers ✌️😋
Sugarcane_Skewers (Mutton )😍
Sugarcane_Skewers (Chicken) : Our Favorites😍The sugarcane enhancing the taste of the Venetian kebabs served with the classic thin peanut-plaintan sauce .
Top_Hats : fresh sprouts n herb…yummy and served complimentary!
Mains :
Thai_Green_curry(Veg) with… #Corriander_Rice :
The strong flavors of Kaffir, lemongrass, classic Thai curry blends well with this rice. Loaded veggies which I love.
Penang_Curry (spicy) Chicken with Herb_Rice..yum
Chocolate_mousse : Complimentary! Wow!!
As usual each and every dish is top notch, excellent in taste, service is amazing good, Ambience cozy and comfortable. Suggest more overhead fans, its gets humid now a days.

Do visit it’s the perfect location for a once in a lifetime celebrations!
Have a look at my pictures!
My favourite place for Asian food in Baner. The ambience is great and the sushi is to die for. They have a decent collection of cocktails too.
I had a fabulous dining experience. It was a sudden plan, I wanted to get the table decorated for a celebration , I called them at 7.30, and told We shall be arriving at 9, I got an excellent response from Ria (the floor manager). She got the table ready in such less time. Thanks a lot Ria, you are an excellent manager.
We had our favorite Red Wine, Malaka curry Kapitan & Canai Roti. It was so delicious. Ria also offered us a chocolate mousse on the house. Would love to soon dine with you again. Thanks for making our night such a memorable one :)

When passion and expertise comes together, what you get is a beautiful outcome such as the celebrated 'Malaka Spice'.
This one of a kind diner serves some authentic South East Asian cuisine, along with their own fusion and twists. Things that I tried :
• Vegetarian top hats (this was complimentary from their end, which I found to be a wonderful gesture)
• Coriander Rice
• Prawn Thai Curry
• Kari leaf Prawns
• Golden Squid Rings
I would love to go back here anytime anyday.
Recently visited this place with my friends. Great food and great service. Dumplings and vegetable kababas were awesome. Highly recommended for thai food
Recently went for night out in the town with all my friends and decided to come here. Loved the ambience and the dimly lit interiors. Food was great too. Definitely would recommend
There wasn't much of a crowd but I would chalk it to being lunch on a week day. The up side was that we had the server mostly to ourselves. Ordered the veg top hat, chicken in pandan leaf, laksa-ma soup, Singapore chilli noodles and stir fried veggies. The food was good, the top hat was stand out. For desserts we had chocolate walnut tart with ice cream. We had a good time.
This is one the BEST places i’ve been in Pune to... the ambience, the FOOD was 11/10, farther more than just perfect. It’s a must visit place in this town.
Actually my overall rating is 4.5
I have been here in last week for buffet team lunch. It was good experience in terms of food, service, and ambience is descent (for afternoon).
Must try Nan tod potato's & top hat in starter, electric salad, black sesame ice cream (if you like sesame). Also for team we got mocktails and other drinks unlimited offer which was great 😊
Malaka Spice specialises in authentic South East Asian cuisine
We had the Maki Roll Sushi, and Dumplings for starters
Burmese Khao Suey for the mains
The food has very clean flavours and taste exactly like what they should.
For dessert we had the Black sesame ice cream and Chocolate Brownie
The desserts were the best part of the meal
Should definitely visit if you want to try something exquisite
Awesome restaurant with great unique fusion dishes. I visited this place along with my extended family ( adults and kids) and we just enjoyed the variety of dishes.
My overall rating is:
Ambiance: 3/5- The smoking and non smoking zone is adjacent to each other - don't understand the logic !
Food (quality): 5/5
Food ( quantity): 5/5
Table reservation: 2/5 ( we had asked for non smoking section during table reservation and they didnt provide it, hence low rating)
Service: 3/5 - we had to hunt for service team members each time we had to order !
Price: 5/5 - at the premium end which the restaurant serves. The restaurant is not a pocket friendly one, you need to have a heavy wallet !
Pumpkin chips- dont miss this, unique dish
Lotus stem tango- another great dish available only here
Grilled chicken skewers- good one
Fire cracker prawns- tasty fiery spicy prawns
Tangy spiced chicken sioh- loved it
Nasi Goreng (chicken ) rice- ok, i have tasted better than this
Phad thai noodles with crunchy peanuts- can be better if the tangy flavour is reduced a bit
Lots of varieties of wines to select
we went for Hoegaarden beer and all the time we were served chilled beers
I would recommend this for small family groups and couples.
There is a separate Pub on the top floor with live screening of sports and music! I will write about it more when I visit it !
One of my favourites in Pune! It has such a long and varied menu that everytime you go here, you have to think a lot to place a order. Full of options, and yet, full of flavours! I have been here for 4 times now and everytime i have ordered, the experience was amazing!
Very courteous staff. Separate dining space for family. I tried the sushi for the first time and it was quite good. Freshly prepared. Overall a great experience. Please try their top hats. Wonderful starters.
I visited this place with one of my friend for the lunch today. I really appreciate this place. Their food is great and authentic. It has super warm ambiance with nice spacious interior that harness a cozy and welcoming vibe. There are plenty of options, very tasty and full of flavour. We have ordered Madurasi Veg soup which clear and with lot of vegetables. WE have really enjoyed it. With soup we have ordered Prawns Tempura, it was excellent and crispy, the prawns were fresh. It is highly recommended. After this in main course we ordered veg Indones fried rice. It is vibrant and flavorful Sweet and spicy Indonesian fried rice. It was brilliant and one more thing they gave us complementary Top Hats. Overall i like this place.
Amazing place for south east asian cuisine . One must try the phad thai noodles , it is awesome also the dumplings are very good . Staff here is very polite and helping in nature.
Food is just wow. Indonatian style.
Almost all varieties are good. Even many items are available in Jain (they will customise on request).
The “set menu” on weekdays is the best. Unlimited food and drinks that too 499 (plus taxes). It is heaven for foodie.
One of a few places for tap beer.
Many a times they do screen matches on projector. On such days can enjoy company with friends, have a few drinks and good food and enjoy the match.
Little expensive if you go with ala-carte, but taste is worth.
Happened to visit this place for dinner. This place serves the best thai food. The ambience is just too awesome and a good place for candle light dinner. We tried the Malaysian rice with red chicken Thai curry. It was way too delicious. M in love with the food here. The staff is very friendly and suggests menu as per your needs. We also have the walnut trat with ice cream which was tasty. A must visit place.
Still the best place to enjoy south east Asian food in Pune friendly staff good quality of food and authentic ingredients. Also good parking
One of the worst chicken Thai curries I have ever had. I just ordered it from zomato. How can you add green peas to the curry, also the taste was worst. I have eaten Thai curry from Malaka spice many times, but I was very disappointed by this.
#mala-ka 😉
beautiful experience, authenticity in taste, love the food and drinks both...
Beautiful Ambiance and the vibe in house.
Keep up that spiciness always!🙂
Cya guys!
Malaka spice is located in Atria Building in Baner, Pune. Its very famous for Pan Asian authentic food. It has a very courteous staff and they have amazing food with superb presentation. We tried their Prawns Tempura, Virgin Mohito, Top Hats it was very yummy.
This is a very well known place for South East Asian cuisines, for a long time i was thinking of visiting the restaurant, and finally I had.
I loved so much the food and ambience that I forgot to take pictures. Menu book is in detailed mentioning each and every food item with clear description, and which I liked they serve large and small portions of the food item.
Following we had :
1. Dumpling chicken
2. Boston Roll - sushi which is my favorite
3. Murtabak chicken
4. Randang fish
5. Chicken Ramen soup
6. Japanese choco truffle - it is amazing, it has mixed tastes both spicy because of Wasabi and sweet. Will had again..😊
Drinks we had Indian white wine named Vallonne riestling. I liked.
Ambience - 4/5
Food-5/5
Quantity - 3/5 it can be increased
Service - 4/5
Overall I liked the place and will definitely visit again.. And hope Malaka will make us happy again.. 😊
This is a well known name for South East Asian Cuisine and just to try something authentic ,I along with my three friends visited this place for a Saturday Dinner.
Located on 1st floor this place has a huge space with great South East Asian vibes.Everything here was on-point starting from Music to seating and Graffiti to Waiters' uniform.
Coming to food, the menu was detailed and depicted the journey of this place alongside the name of dishes and is as heavy as a photo album.
We all are vegetarians and this is what we had,
🔸Madurasi Soup
This clear soup having its origin from Indonesia had a rich taste of lemongrass, carrot & turmeric. It acted as a good appetizer.
STARTER
Every starter here was available in two options: regular portion & smaller portion. We tried smaller portion which allowed us to try 3 starters.
🔸Nan Thad Potatoes
These were baby potatoes stir fried in Chilli Sauce providing it a Chinese taste, very suitable for Indian Palate.
Portion Size was adequate.
🔸Thai Spring Rolls
These crispy rolls served with red chutney were full of veggies & had a good taste.I personally loved them a lot.
🔸Top Hats
This starter was something unique. It was a tart filled with sprouts on top & minced vegetables on bottom. It had a fresh and a very different taste.
MAIN COURSE
🔸Burmese Curry Noodles
These creamy noodles were a perfect start for main course.Served with fried garlic, fried onion, spring onion, chopped chillies and red Thai curry like sauce, these were damn tasty and sufficient for a group of 4.
🔸Malaysian Shredded Herb Rice
All I could taste in these rice was mint.I personally did not like Rice + Mint flavour.Served in large bowl without any sauce, these tasted okish.
We booked this table through Dineout App and so got a complementary dessert as well which was as under.
🔸Malaka Magic Choco Lava
This was basically brownie topped with Hot Chocolate Sauce, served with Vanilla Icecream. The taste was good but very common. We expected something more from its name.
👉Overall the place is classy, vibrant and serves good authentic veg South East Asian food.Do give it a try for authentic South East Asian Cuisine.

Good place for small parties..ambience is nice refreshing. Been here for official get-together. Beer was nice chilled. Food was okies. Chicken wings was over fried ND smelly(old batch).
Beautiful place. Catches your attention with the aura and the overall atmosphere. Dim lit mesmerizing ambience, spaced out seating.
Availability of Zomato gold made it even more interesting.
Positives: Tasty food, zomato gold on drinks, pitcher offers on beer, Kimaya and Moonshine meadery serving their bests, Good service and very suggestive staff.
The overhead sprinklers were our attraction, as they helped us beat the heat inside. 😁
Will recommend everyone to visit this place if you love Thai cuisine.
I had amazing night at malaka spice in baner Pune restaurant is on spectacular view of a city the ambiance is perfect the staff is very helpful the best part of food and varities of drinks so good that we had a superb night.
All time favourite place to have Malaysian and Thai food. Many options to choose if you are a non vegetarian and the service is also very nice. Their lunch deals are a steal. Will visit soon again.
I have visited yesterday for the 2nd time for an office party. I must say the food made me fall in love with it. I tried various sea food dishes and each of them are really yummy. The staff were very humble and good. For the very 1st time i have tried the white owl dark beer 🍺 and it was great. I have decide to visit soon with family so that they can also enjoy the food🍤🥘.. I really had a great evening Malaka Spice
A very nice and cozy place.

Extremely helpful sta
ff and a particular staff named Mr. Arjun was so humble and friendly. He gave us great suggestions from the Menu.
The ambience was beautiful, the service was on-point and the food was really great. The overall dining experience was really wonderful. The green Thai curry and the honey garlic chilli chicken were the two food items we enjoyed the most.
Amazing food and ambience, the food is seriously amazing and delicious like you feel to meet the chef✌️
Do visit the restaurant and I will suggest my friends to visit this place
Wonderful food and service on a buzzing Sunday night! Please note our special thanks to our host that night, Uttam, who was not only courteous but also so helpful to us in arranging a lovely birthday cake.
We wanted to take family members who had come down from abroad to a place with authentic Pan Asian cuisine and zeroed in on Malaka Spice-Baner. We were super hungry and ordered a couple of appetisers right away.
* Tangy Green Papaya Salad🥗
* Vegetable Tempura 🍡
* Prawn Tempura 🍤
* D for Dumplings (Chicken) 🥟
* Prawn Sushi 🍱
* Grilled Chicken skewers 🍢
All the starters were super tasty. I loved😍 the Papaya salad; it was bang on tanginess with a crunch of peanuts😋🥜 Tempura - both veg and prawn were hot and crispy. The mango sauce served along was delicious. Chicken dumplings were perfect steamed and soo good. Prawn Sushi was ordered by my niece and she hogged on it. Grilled chicken skewers were nice too.
Moving to our main course order -
* Nasi Goreng 🍜
* Malaka Thai Red curry (chicken)🥘
* Steamed rice 🍚
* Green Pepper Chicken 🍗
* Grilled Fish in Banana leaf🐟
* Singapore chicken rice 🍛
Everything from our main course turned out great as expected. Nasi Goreng was perfectly spiced and looked lovely on the plate. Thai red curry was great with steamed rice. The Green Pepper chicken had a lot of pepper and did find it spicy. Grilled fish was fresh and nicely prepared. Singapore chicken rice served with a clear chicken broth was good but nothing to really talk about.
All in all it was a great experience. We ate more than we thought we would 😁😅Must mention the polite staff added to our experience. Definitely lives up to its name! 😊👍💯
Best place to have Asian cuisine.
Must try things :- 1- Firecrackers Prawns
2- chicken Ramen (if you’re a ramen lover)
3- Green chicken Thai curry *best compliments with coriander rice
Ambience is decent could be much better.
Staff very friendly and service is moderate
Rates little bit on higher on side but worth every penny
Along with my colleagues last week i have planned for lunch here the food was amazing and very tasty must to visit again .I love this place😋
Pan Asian food is just awesome here. We were seated in the taproom and you get good variety of craft beers as well. Service is great and ambience is pleasing.
Ordered Singapore noodles and chicken satay.. chicken tempura... food was superbly authentic and amazing ambiance.. with fruity wine.. along with super helpful staff
After making innumerable unsuccessful plans in the past to visit the highly rated Malak Spice on Baner Road, me and my wife finally went there for dinner on a Sunday night.
a. Location – Baner road, very easy to find. It is adjacent to Poona Republic.
b. Parking – Valet parking available!
c. Ambience – It has both indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor is further bifurcated into smoking and non-smoking. We opted for the indoor area as it was calm and peaceful.
d. Food – For starters, we had “Salt & Pepper Prawns” and “Chicken Skewers”. Both were cooked to perfection, indicating that the marination was equally good. I personally enjoyed the skewers to the core as the chicken was succulent and melted in my mouth with minimum effort. The peanut chutney was beautiful – sweet and spicy! Matt Preston from Masterchef Australia would have put it this way – “The combination resulted in a burst of flavours and I am still trying to recover from it” 😊 For Mains, we went for the tried and tested “Thai Green chicken curry and steamed rice” & some lced tea to neutralize the spicy curry. Though it tasted as expected, I found it to be a little too spicy and that did not go down well with my stomach. We skipped the desserts – the menu has got little to offer when it comes to satiate your sweet tooth.
e. Service – As good as it can be! In spite of the large crowd, they have well behaved and informed servers which impressed me. This justifies the premium they charge on every dish.
f. Price – It’s a no-brainer! It is a fine dine restaurant and the pricing is in line. However, the experience combined with the food quality makes it a must try place!
In pics - Salt & Pepper prawns, Chicken Skewers, Thai chicken green curry with steamed rice
Malaka Spice - Baner is a semi outdoor dine in place. Less crowded with mild music - perfect for a short lunch outing.
Courteous staff and very tasty food especially the signature dishes. The LIT here was lit!
Had starters and drinks
Chicken in Pandanu - 👍👍
Top Hats - 👍👍👍
Tebasaki - 👍
Mai Tai - 👍👍
LIT - 👍👍😍
I have visited this place twice. The 1st visit was memorable one. The recent visit i ordered singapore chilly noodles which were deliciously yummy. Then we ordered pumpkin chips, dey were very very oily as compared to last tym. Last we ordered coriander rice and thai red curry veg which again delicious. Luvly cosy ambience. Generous staff.
We went there for dinner. The flavour of the food is good. I liked the ambience. Sitting outside was very good. Again, the food was very good, as was the ambience. The service was excellent as well
I visited the place yesterday
1) Staff : Our host Arjun was so polite, well versed with menu and food combinations. He suggested food to go with the drink.
Restaurant was quiet so during a breather Chef Bhushan enthusiastically asked for feedback and actually listened. One trait very few restaurants have in Pune :polite well trained staff
2) Food :
Thai Mutton chops: finger licking good
Kafir lime mojito : Epic and simple
Top hat : gave me the swirlies Remy from Ratatouille gets on eating good and interesting food
Penang Curry : We came here again for it .
Japanese Truffle: Wasabi in chocolate mousse ..wow !
3) Ambience: clean , artsy (artist features were awesome) , very nice music that allowed conversations
Definitely a place to go and recommend
Very subtle yet impressive ambience, peaceful place with a very accommodative and helpful staff. Amazing taste, one wouldn't miss eating the Indian versions of these cuisines, for once.
Quantity completely does justice to the price. The small and large serving options help you try more dishes on their menu :) Serving and garnishing techniques totally bowl you over. Overall, an amazing experience.
They served almost 6 types of dips and sauces, very authentic and tasty. Must try !
Ohhh amazing Saturday night dinner v all had at malaka....every dish was sumptuous...the mutton chops were mind blowing ...the other starters were good too ...the quail though should b more tender ...the ambience was nice...the mains were equally tasty n sumptuous.....loved every bit of it ...
If you are looking for a spicy thai experience i would definitely recommend a visit to malaka spice. To start your spice buds you should definitely go for a tom yum soup which is full of flavour with just the right amount of spiciness. It is something that one should try out. We had gone for the prawns tom yum which didn’t disappoint. We tried the chicken thai thai which is mildly spicy and has a lot of thai flavour in it. Wouldn't recommend it for someone who is trying out thai for the first time as they may not be able to handle the flavours. For desserts we tried the chocolate sin mousse cake which i would definitely recommend one should try out as it has just the right amount of sweetness and is really soft to dig into. The ambience and service of the place is top notch with the waiter providing you ample amount of information on the dishes and helping you choose them.
Awesome experience, superb ambiance and highly trained and courteous staff.
Looked like we came in some out of country restaurant.
Highly recommended for rich and affluent as it is a costly restaurant
Always a 5 star for this place! Amazing food! Such a good experience always here! Their specialty is burmese thai khow swey! Its amazing! A must try!
We had visited Malaka Spice for late dinner. One thing is they remain open till late night.
We had Top Hats in starters which is basically cups filled with sprouts, carrot etc and served with 3 different chutneys or sauces. It looks like Shev puri etc.
Laksa Ma soup was less spicy with coconut milk base and lot of vegetables in it. I had to put spicy chutney sauce in that to add spice.
For main course, we had Malaysian noodles, which tasted good with perfect spicy taste. Quantity was sufficient for 2. Overall I will rate food as 4 out of 5.
Ambiance (4/5) - below are 2 of the photographs. Ambiance looked nice and felt energetic. They have candles placed on each table. Tables are surrounded by indoor plants or partition. Lighting was perfect.
Service (4/5) - It was execellent. They also helped to understand the menu in detail. I should give 5 out of 5 for service. But I won't as not sure if they are allowed to charge 10% on your bill as service charge apart from GST.
Overall it was nice dinner experience with good food.
Malaka Spice never ceases to please the senses!! Abhilash and staff take great care of us, each and every time....the food and drink is arguably the best in the city!!! My all time favourite....would highly recommend to one and all!
Malaka Spice is a good place to hand out and have a get-together dinner with friends. We ordered dumplings, Thai Curry with a few drinks. The food we tried was good and really tasty. The drinks menu also had great options for all kind of drinkers. Ambience of the place is very jolly and some how had a very calm but live atmosphere. Overall a bit expensive place but it's worth it. Especially if you are going for some special occasion. Me and my husband would definately go again.
Pros:
Great variety in different cuisines
Ambience lighting on point
Music playlist top notch
Serving staff courteous
Cons:
Chairs are a bit uncomfortable
Less variation in vegetarian food
Fabulous and excellent place. Courteous and friendly staff. Love the decor. Recommend the Burmese noodles, Thai mutton chops, Tom Yum Soup and all the Stir fry dishes. The best of course is the BASIL CHICKEN, a must try dish !!.
A must go to place if you want to have food Thai food. They have some amazing varieties and even the wines are pretty good. Loved the ambience of baner branch
The best restaurant in town for south east Asian cuisine. Also in my opinion, the restaurant with the best service in town. Go to usual dishes are Top hats, Murtabak, Lamb chops, kari kapitan and Roti kanai. They make some beautiful Sangrias as well.
Delightful experience, superb hospitality, friendly staff, delicious food and a memorable experience. Arjun served us and he more than went an extra mile to make us feel at ease with the menu. He helped us in choosing the right dishes based on our preferences. He and other staff asked for our feedback on every dish we finished eating. I loved the momos, dumplings, Negima, Burmese noodles, Kapitan, roti jhalli and finally the birthday special chocolate mousse. I would have given a 6 star if I could for the presence of mind Arjun showed where he noticed my birthday on the feedback form and immediately acted on it by bringing a surprise for me. Thank you for the hospitality and for making all of us feel special.
Wanted to visit this place since a long time so went with family for lunch. Lively ambience and decor. Food is awesome. Service is also good. Will definitely go again. A cool place to chill out.
Great service. The chef accidentally prepped a different dish than the one I had ordered. We told this to our Waiter, and he got the dish replaced at no extra cost.
Being a vegan, I was very impressed with their 8 page vegan menu. Sushi is great. Vegan gelato is a must-have. Their pumpkin chips are amazing as well.
Visited Malaka Spice, Baner for some weekend brunching scene. Used the PEO card to make the booking. It was super easy to book and avail the amazing offer which was curated for the PEO card holders. Coming to the food.. ordered
Butter Garlic Prawns - the portion size was amazing, but I missed the kick of garlic in it! Since this dish doesn't have any other spices, the lack of garlic punch made it bland for my taste buds
Bbq Mutton - I usually don't order mutton in Restaurants but this dish was really nicely done. The mutton was cut into slices. It was well cooked and the bbq flavor came right through!
Mad Hats (I think that's the name) this dish particularly was a crowd favorite! The presentation was on point, coming to the flavour, crispy shell on the outside and minced flavorful chicken on the inside made sure this got over in seconds!
For main course we ordered Thai curry with rice! It was done well, nothing to rave or complaint about!
Over all, we ate like puppies and enjoyed the brunch! Service was excellent!
Loved the food here😋
Each and every dish was a top notch.
Must try Dishes: 1) The Malaka Tom Kha
2) Murtabak
My Ratings:
Food - 5/5
Ambiance - 5/5
Service -4/5
Overall A great place to enjoy food with friends or family (Especially Non-Veg Food) ❤️😉
Enjoyed the family lunch with varieties and very tasty food. Staff was very supportive and knew their job well. Enjoyed the decor.
Food was very tasty but bit expensive ...ambience was nice and the service was good.
Great food and ambiance, though a little pricey, is well worth a visit here! Kids friendly place.
Great for and great ambience. Very friendly staff.. the best thing about Malaka Spice is their quality of food or service never goes down. I have been to different branches of this chain over the years but all of them have great service, great staff and superb quality food. I believe most organizations should learn from these guys how to ensure that the quality never suffers even after years of being around
Ambience was nice, taste and authenticity we truly Malaysia. Service was good. Portion per serving is less and ensure you order food giving 20 min to come. Enjoyed! A bit overpriced though, good to go for special occasion.
