Chitale products are the first thing I buy to send for family or carry before traveling. Quality and hygiene are top notch. Kaju Katli and bhakarwadis are to die for. However;I just have one very small critique.... some of the Pedhas have TOO much sugar in them because of which it tastes too sweet and you can’t taste the actual flavour. Apart from that everything else is awesome.

With all due respect , I think people have become too critical. The objective while rating legacy joints should be quality, hygiene taste of food over the years. Nothing short of a 5 for Chitale Bandhu. I have been a customer since over 30 years, my parents my family and all friends relatives swear by Chitale Bandhu. Bhakarwadi, ambawadi, ambe, shrikhand amrakhand, the list is endless

Best bakarwadi. Fresh and tasty. Also other sweets here are tasty and fresh.. they also offer some different variety of ice cream. One of which was ginger ice cream, That didnt went good with ice cream part. Recommend for bakarwadi.
There is no competition to the bhakarwadi of chitale bandhu.. From the sweets, mango burfi and Gulabjam is the best known product of them. You will always get the fresh goods.

An extremely popular sweet shop chain in Pune which makes the best bhakarwadis. The shrikhand, basundi and Amba barfi (mango) are also must haves. They also make great Chivda and snacks. It remains crowded all the time.
I have tasted Bakarwadi and gulab jamun dry.Bakarwadi was so good that I ordered 2 packets next day that too at reasonable cost but jamun was too sweet and large sugar grains were spreded on that so you can improve it...

Since 2004 have been visiting abroad for both short and long term visits and two things I check before leaving are - first the Passport and second Chitale Bakarwadi and Amba Barfi. Ok maybe an exaggeration but I always carry Chitale's sweets and savories as they give me the much needed company away from home.
Seldom is our celebration sans Chitale sweets.
I don't know if it's my mind or there is some truth but never does sweetmeat of any branch of Chitale taste better than the one in Mandai.

Bakarwadi - Don't know how they make these bakarwadis so crispy. Perfect balance of spices. Haven't tasted such bakarwadis from any brand.
Amba Barfi - Sweet, tangy and soft with bursting flavors of mango. Must try.
Amrakhand - Sweet, sour and mangooey. Smooth and silky shrikhand..

Thier iconic bakarwdi tastes same for years. The crispness and taste is unique. Many tried to replicate but could not. I bet you cant eat just one. Hands down.
Amba Barfi is mango Barfi and tastes fantastic. Other sweets are also really good.

This franchise is one of the best sweet centers in Pune. The bhakadwadi is just out of the world. It can act as a snack as well as starters for your drinks. Chitale’s bhakadwadi is the only one worth having among so many brands and once you have this you won’t ever like any other brand’s.
The kaju badam roll and kalakand are also very delicious. Definitely a must try. For ones visiting Pune from other cities should never miss a visit to this franchise.
Today i visited there Satara Road Outlet for sweets on occasion on Ganesh Chaturthi. They provide good service as when i visited it was time of outlet closing. I asked for Modak and Bhakarwadi. One of there salesman asked we have closed but one another opened kitchen and given fresh Bhakarwadi. Its is easily accessible as its just at of Pune-Satara road. Whenever you go for Bhakarwadi go for Chitale only i also checked others in area but not softness like Chitales.

Best sweets you can get in Pune ! It is basically located at the Chitale Chowk, opposite Bank of Maharashtra.
My personal favourites are Amba Wadi, Besan Laddu, Rawa laddu, Dry Fruits Laddu, Karanjya !
Bhakarwadis and Amba Wadi are world famous !
Besan Laddu and Rawa laddu use good quantity of best ghee and due to which they taste very yum ! There is no taste of eating raw Rawa or flour. I have homemade and of only Chitale Bandhu Besan Laddus.
Karanjya are of two types: normal and baked ! The Chitale Bandhu apparently is going a step ahead to take care of ppl having cholesterol.
There are more sweets than the above mentioned and to taste them you need to visit this place. The quality of all their sweets is the best.
Obviously, expect a crowd and waiting queue for payment.
Parking is definitely an issue everywhere in Sadashiv Peth.
Tip: Check out their timings before visiting them. They are Punctual.
Chitale is known for authentic taste and purity and quality. From ghee, milk only you can justify the same. Rates are similar to those anywhere in the market. Everything here is fresh. They send the paneer back after 7-7.30 pm so it won't rot. You need to be on time if you want to get such specific items. Now u can imagine their quality concern. :)
Very famous for bakarwadi (snack). You can get most of the sweets including modak, satoli, gond laadoo, fresh dhokla, baasundi etc. Just the behavior of the people at the cash counter is rude. Little egoistic.

There are also many other Sweets, Farsans which I Haven't tried yet but I can gurantee that even they will not disappoint you. that's the Brand of Chitale.
Pune like being called as Oxford of East is also famous and synonymous with it's - Chitale Bandhus' Bakharwadi too. All the people staying here since long would definitely vouch for it.
They also have been serving their famous Chivdas', Mango Barfi, Kaju Katli, Pedhas and other sweets /snacks. Taste has remained same nice one till date. Bless them to stay like this, tasty, forever. 👍

I have been coming here since I was a kid.
Personally I don’t think this place needs any introduction as it has been loved and praised on countless occasions.
I remember long ques and some of their items only given one packet so that others can also buy it.
The experiences have been many.
They were strict with their store timings closed in the afternoons however all has been relaxed a bit now. Things have changed with times not the taste though.
From we do not have branches to opening stores across pune things have definitely changed.
New items have been kept adding to the menu.
They have set a benchmark for many dishes which have been tried to be imitated however none ever succeeded.
I don’t remember any dish disappointing me ever.
This place is a must must visit, satisfaction guaranteed.
My personal all time favourites are the Bhakarwadi, sakhreche gulab jamun, amrakhand, barfi, kaju katli. The taste has been the same forever n I mean it.
