Visited this place on New Year's. It's good for those who like loud music. The place is a little small and hence the tables are too close to each other. However nice cheap booze , good food and lively atmosphere. A good place for youngsters.
Café toons is the perfect sports bar. Talking about the ambience, the cartoons on the walls were awesome and I loved the music they played. After renovation, the look has been completely changed but the feel remains the same. We just dropped by for a couple of beers after a long day of shopping so cannot comment much on food. Service was nice. All in all, a nice place to watch sports and chat.

A great college hangout since ages.Every day it spills over with guests – locals (mostly college students) and tourists alike. One of MG Road surviving icons, for a feel of its ‘character’ (underground bar...good service..loud music....), Although there are many options to eat, none can replace Chilled Draught beer with Chicken wings & Masala Dal + Fish & Chips.

In the end it was the beer that destroyed me.
So this place is known for its beer, right? Who dosen't love beer, but at the end of the day it will become the end of me. My group of friends tried this place solely because of the buzz about it. I decided to join them for a couple beers cause I don't usually drink. Forgetting that I was on a sore throat, we went on a drinking and munching spree. We ordered the onion rings that came in late and the slider burgers that didn't last long on the plate. As my folks went on harder spirits, I noticed the irritable throat of mine. Amidst the loudness and claustrophobic place one can hardly appreciate the ambience of the American drinking theme. Nevertheless, it went such we were involved in drinking or eating or both. Me ending up with having chugged draught beer on a sore throat made it worse.
Nevertheless, the food and drinks were good but a bit too heavy on the pocket. The staff was trying it's best to take orders and operate in the tightly packed loud atmosphere.
And in the end it was the beer that destroyed me.
First every party in any dance plan. Parking is issue. But the most inside ambience is small buy it is very interesting to dance on the floor. Enjoyed alot to first ever time. Must visit again and again. Rate is also good. Food quality is nice. Inside crownd were also dashing, since it is in centre of city. Waiting for your next plan.

Best place to hangout in Pune. The food served is awsome. The price is very much in budget. They don't pick up the beer bottles till you leave the table. It's some kind of ritual they have. All in all a good place to eat and booze.
Went there quite a few times and liked it. I mostly go there on weekends when there are some good EPL matches in the evening and it is a nice place to enjoy a drink and watch the matches. They have multiple screens showing the multiple matches simultaneously.
It’s a pretty old place and has all the basic necessities. There is some offer everyday so have a look at the offer menu and you might just become lucky. The music is on the louder side and a bit cramped for space too. The beer is cheap but the food can be a lot tastier. Fish Finger is good though along with the toon burger. Nice place to hang out with friends and watch football matches. One of the very few place in Pune which properly shows epl matches.

One of the best places for college students because of pocket friendly. It doesn't give a hole in pocket. Nice environment with live band performance mostly rock bands. Service is good.
Beer lovers can drop down here and as a part of the food we loved the chicken platter which had sausages, boiled egg, salami, cutlet, chicken BBQ wings, fish finger, fries and salads it's too good. We also ordered chicken steak mushroom which was not as expected it was okay and the mushroom sauce was a bit salty. This is very old hangout for beer lovers located on the main Street of M G Road Pune, its designed at the basement totally sound proof with loud music played by DJ guarded by bouncers outside. Crowded with young college goers.
This place is LIT.... the pizzas and Burgers are too tasty... and the alcohol is cheap and very tasty... Must visit... the ambience is also nice .... only problem is that the seating is a bit compact.... other than that everything is worth every penny you spend

Toons is a place for those looking to chug some beer while listening to loud rock music and/or watching their favourite sports teams in action during their live match broadcasts.
However, the location is bit shady and is not at all spacious... Might disappoint some :P
Overall, we had a very good experience. The pricing is competitive, and portion sizes are good. Fun place to visit if you are going in group.

When you begin to list some old trademarked place of Pune, i am sure you wouldnt leave out Cafe Toons! And it has always been my go to place for a chill afternoon or say a relaxed evening. It is surprising how over the years they have managed to maintain the quality of the place. One plus point is they dont have entry scenes and unlike the over hyped places now-a-days they entertain stags and mixed groups alike. The steaks are something to die for, barbeque chicken steak being my personal choice. You can call for the fries, one of the best in town. I am personally very chosey with fries, needs to have the perfect salt content and the crunch.
The fish and chips and peri peri steaks are recommended too.
The bar menu is super pocket friendly and you can even chill over a bottle of london pilsner. Very few places serve LP bdw :)

Visited the place last week. It's hard to figures out the pub as it's like a hide out area in middle of MG road.
The ambience was very cozy, but if you are a rock fan then this place can guide you to the heavens door.
Being cozy and not so high fashioned place their music, food and service is superb!! Even the washrooms were very clean.
We had order 3 toons tower, 1 pitcher (1300 ml), masala peanuts, masala dal, cheese chilly toast, veg 65 and fish fingers (very delicious in taste). All the food items were great in taste.
The service was very prompt and staff were courteous.

So, I have been to this place many times. This is the place where you can have fun with your friends as well as chill your nerves. They have a really good taste of music.
I had chicken sausages here which were really good. The staff here is very polite. They have a separate smoking zone for the people who smoke. They have their happy hours for the whole day long . So if you want to have a great time with your friends this is the place.

Cafe toons is a nice little pub where you can easily get high. It has reasonably priced booze and high volume rock music. I visited on Thursdays, not sure what kind of music is played on other days.
I think waiting is guaranteed on busy hours, they have reasonable amount of smaller and larger tables. When I reached with my wife, all the smaller tables were occupied. We were asked to wait but later the owner got us seated on larger table with other group of 3 people. The table was reasonably big in size and when you go to pubs I guess you don't really mind sharing the table, having said that, we didn't feel our privacy was breached.
Food was good. We ordered Chilly Paneer, Nachos, Veg Burger and Chilli Cheese toast. No complains.
Staff is active and responsive. Serving is prompt. Definitely worth visiting at least once.

The beat thing about this place ia that its small. The reason being loud retro music just gets everyone psyched. The best time to visit is during matches.

Visited this place last week after a gap of 5 years or more. I was kind of hesitant to visit the place, was kind of under rating the place in comparison with numerous option opened off late. I had a pre-conceived notion of this place not being as much fun as newer places would be.
And to my SURPRISE, I had a great time. Hesitation converter to alacrity in no time.
This place has not changed one bit in last ten years but continues to be fun with the great atmosphere & loud music. Great food. Masala peanuts was mouth wateringly delicious. Everything we ordered was nice. Also very much pocket friendly.

The music this place exposes you to is the primary attraction of this place. Rock music that gradually increases its pace as you progress with the night. They’ve an extremely shady ambiance, but that’s another plus point, as it makes you comfortable. They’ve live music as well (on days you get lucky) moderately priced alcohol, and shots that are named after rock bands (AC/DC, Green Day, to name a few). In food, their Cafe Toons Burger and Chicken Stronganoff was what we tried and loved it, which therefore makes it a must try. Their Cafe Toons Non Veg platter is amazing as well, hence a must try. In Veg, try their paneer chilli (as you don’t have too many options). Given that, their pineapple and cheese is a must must try. Plus, their night ends with Californication (by Red Hot Chilli Peppers) and everybody singing it in chorus and that’s a sight you wouldn’t want to miss. It’s a must visit place on MG road in Pune. Cheap beers and exciting offers everyday. The place is always crowded but the ambience is good. There's a smoking room as well. Pocket friendly and highly recommended for college going students. Food - portions are good! We ordered 1 masala peanuts which were awesome ... then we ordered a hawaiin salad ... i would give it a 5/10 as it was loaded with big pieces of potatoes. Then in the main course i had ordered a mushroom steak ... the chicken fillets were amazing and the mushrooms spread over were delicious... the portion was amazing... it was served with some sides which werent very fascinating...it had a garlic bread, 1 tablespoon of coleslaw, just a few sauteed vegetables and dry parsley rice and mashed potato which wasnt as i would expect them.
Alocohol was very cheap! And ambience was very appealing... they have a seperate smoker zone so thats also was very good!

Food - 4.5/5. I love the food they offer. My favourite is White sause penne pasta and Chicken steak. And for munchies nothing can beat masala peanuts.

A very beautiful place. I was here for beer with good music and I loved their taste in Music. They didn't had the Beer I usually drink but Pink Floyd compensated the same.

I'll be honest and admit we didn't try much of the food apart from the Napalitino Pasta but as a drinking joint Cafe Toons has been an old favourite of many in this part of town. Nestled in the basement at MG Road, Toons has all sorts of patrons ranging from barely legal adults to hardcore drinkers availing it's many offers around the week. They also have a one of kind dedicated smoke room where the smokers need not bother the other non partaking public with tobacco fumes. The service is fast and they place some terrific music in the evenings. All in all a classic place to hang out....
Was there last evening with my girl, it was el-clasico and the atmosphere was electric. Music was as usual hard rock and fish finger and 3 pepper chicken burger was awesome too.
