Went to Cafe Pondi on a rainy Saturday evening, and the first thing which you notice is the quiet ambience and the colourful, yet quaint setting. I personally liked the library, where I spent some time browsing through the books they have.
Coming to the food, I had ordered the Chettinad Cottage Cheese, which was nicely cooked with soft and fresh cottage cheese. The taste wasn't too overwhelming, and it was quite flavourful.
Overall, a nice place. Will visit again!
Cosy place simulating mix of indo-french culture. Menu items are kept likewise (south indian and European). Polite staff. Has both indoor and outdoor seating. Great taste.

Today a friend and I decided to visit this cafe. This is located in Kalyani Nagar. A little tricky to locate as it's not on the main Street. Google map helps. The place has a lovely serene ambience. Its a bungalow converted into a cafe. Little details like lights, seating arrangements, plates bowls and cutlery, decor make it a place worth visiting. They also have a big book shelf with variety of books. Staff is friendly and polite but can be more attentive. Food and drinks tasted good. Portions could be bit large. Nice place to unwind and relax. Do visit if in the area.
Out of all the cafe's I've visited so far in Pune - Cafe Pondi has got the best property.
The place actually justify the name. You will totally get the Pondi vibes - calm, silent and relax.

One of the best places I have been to in a while now. Crazy ambiance, amazing bun butter... They have actually spoiled bun butter for me now... I can't have it anywhere else but here. They have this bun butter filter coffee combo which is a must have. Polite staff, quick service and reasonable priced. In short... I am in love.
Being a vegetarian plus a nature lover this place is actual paradise for me. The moment you enter all you can get is peaceful vibe. I went here in evening when the sun was mild. Was mesmerized by the delicious panayaram and then paneer chettinadi❤️ and then the filter kaafi with the maska pav became my love. I ordered the coffee twice just to enjoy it's taste with the most blissful ambiance. It was my best day. Thanks to my friend who was aware of my taste and surprised with the best. This place is in my list of favorite places for Nirvana!

Moshezz reached Cafe Pondi, situated in one of the bylanes of Kalyaninagar Joggers Park, the Tvum Lane. The moment she stepped in... She was transported to her dating days of Pondicherry with Monssiuer Edward🐥 the Chihuahhaa. Though the affair did not last long but the Foodgasm did.. Of pondi cuisine.. A perfect culture marriage of the French and South India.. Blended well.
She was led by the server to a corner table with a swing delectably done up. The Ambience was soulful and par excellence. Given the hustle and bustle on a Freaky Friday night that too in Kalyaninagar, CAFE PONDI did not have any of that but perfect Nirvana. "Next time I am coming here for a good tete a tete with Ninja, Ubercool and Archie.. ", said Moshezz as she ordered in something really unique... MURRUKKU NACHOS 🐱🐱n Paneer Chettinad... Yeah yeah yeah... Today Moshezz was on a veggie diet and she did want to blissfully enjoy the food to the core. Paneer Chettinad bursted in the mouth with the strong spicy yet zing full flavors of Chettinad cuisine. The MURRUKKU nachos seemed like Iyengar Aunty home cooked crispy MURRUKKU having got married to Pedro's salsa sauce and cheese... And what a Rab ne Bana Di Jodi it was. Moshezz blessed the Jodi and complimented the chef for this delightful masterpiece. Just perfect.
Cafe Pondi reminded her of Morrigan murralluappa style ( her class mate at Trichy) Avial and cafe Pondi just served her a hot soulful bowl of pure Avial bursting with the flavors of Curry leaf, coconut oil, ghee and vegetables just the way Murragan got it to school. Caramel salted coffee and some Veg Au gratin to remind her of Edward.. The Auro ville days and the sea side walks, the lazy afternoons, breezy evenings over good old coffee and French cuisine.
The coffee was just perfect.☕☕ The salted caramel just added on to the zing and flavored it well. Moshezz was now in total Gastronomic delightful state... Craving for a near perfect Foodgasm🍻🍺.. Oh Yeh.. Oh Yeh.. Oh yes.... Yessss ... Here came the Veg Au gratin pipping hot.... Phew wow.... Meoooooooooooowwww.... Moshezz burned her tongue now... Greedy weedy cat cud not wait for anything!!! The soothing music, the Ambience almost made her crave for more but now she knew it was time for bidding adiue as she did not have a driver to drive back home and Uber on a Friday night... Phew!!
Warmly snuggled up now in bed Moshezz recommends the cafe to all of you through a whatsapp message. She said to definitely try the Avial and the MURRUKKU and drink in some caramel salted coffee for a perfect Foodgasm. CAFE PONDI - a perfect amalgamation of the subtle the spice and all things nice... A review would score a 4.5 on a scale of 5. Beautiful Friday well spend... We had ordered
1.Appam with mix vegetable stew- it comes with 2 appams and the stew was too good.
2. Ghee masala appam- it was up to mark but not something i would crave for again
3. Pongal-it was more like a masala khichdi and not like a authentic pongal.
4. Kerala parota with alu mutter- this was gud with a tomato base alu mutter gravy..a tangy side of taste
5. ghee roast aloo biryani..trust me guys..it was as good as a non veg biryani..a must try
6. Elaneer payasam- it was a ok ok kind of dessert..to thin consistency..might taste better if the consistensy is a bit thick..
7. Filter coffee brownie with saffron icecream- a small quantity with a bit salty taste but a good combination overall
8. Paan panna cotta- the basic pannacotta taste could be improved but presentation was good.

We tried their famous Appams, Paneer chettinad and Mix veg stew, totally loved both the dishes.
Appams especially are a must a try.
We also tried pineapple rassam, which I would highly recommend because it has quite a unique taste. Spicy, tangy and sweet at the same time.
The only complaint I have is with the service they provided, can improve on that.
Also the quantity of the food can be increased so that at least two people eat fully.
Good place.its worth to experiment something new.though I find it a bit expensive but it’s fine to try once. Order different starters and then enjoy the taste.
Perfect amalgamation of traditional and continental cuisine. If you like your food with a twist, this is the place to eat. Wonderful ambience especially in the evening it feels so serene. Definitely on the top of my list!
This is a really impressive place. It looks like a typical pondi house. Beautifully decorated with all the Indian things. As I entered I saw brass vessel with marigold flower. They have a huge book shelf with good collection of books. It's a airy place with really pretty tables, trees on every side of the house.
Even table decorations are madhe with used coconut shells. They serve water with mint leaves which is a detox water. Their crockery is also impressive.
I tried pasta agli olio, which was amazing. Flavors were on point.
Filter coffee was decent it was served in a really pretty brass cup. I also tried masala tea which was not that good.my second cup of masala tea was not that good.
Service was nice & quick. Even owner went to every table & took feedback from every customer.

At the end to end the dinner with a perfect blend of brownie and ice-cream named Filter Coffee Brownie with Saffron ice-cream tossed with coffee powder is dessert one must go for.
Great ambience. Both indoor and outdoor seating available. Widespread menu options. The potato and cheese soup is delicious. Also the mushroom soup. Their Appam dishes are also really good. The kafir lime cooler is a great option in cool drinks. Filter coffee is just like any other South Indian restaurant. Thai curry with rice were okayish. Those days when you are in blues, want some time for yourself, want to go away from the city noises without travelling long hours.
This place is especially designed to give a sense of serene calm while being situated in the city's centre. The place , the atmosphere, the sitting, books, everything this cafe has makes you feel good.
Each dish comes with beautiful representation, especially the Filter Coffee which comes with heart shaped crusty zeera cookies.
The presentation makes you drool while the taste doesn't disappoint either. The dishes definitely are made from quality products, desi ghee etc.
We ordered,
Pineapple rasam - different unique taste, spicy rasam with tangy pineapple pieces, worth a try.
Chettinad paneer with appam - given the price it seems expensive but the quality of food perfectly justifies the pricing
Aloo matar with Kerela paratha - though the paratha looks more like a regular paratha but the taste was good.
Coffee - This is the thing you should come here for. The presentation only sets the cafe different from other places. Taste wise it was better than most filter coffee we get around Pune.
A very quiet and nice area and really good for breakfast and mid day meals. Portions are decent and the staff are very pleasant as they give you your space even when the restaurant is more or less empty, as that can get awkward sometimes.
Starting with the ambiance it is very nice and decent its a decent place for family dinner and dates the staff is also very nice and also the service was excellent coming to the food we had lot of food items with are mainly based on south Indian food and the taste and presentation was fabulous love the names of the dishes overall my experience is very good want to revisit this place and want to explore more in the menu

Had been waiting for a long to visit this serene place. As you enter a server welcomes you with a big smile! The place looks so peaceful and divine you can sit here for hours! The decor and ambience is just amazing! Coming to the food we ordered Garlic Podi bread with cheese, mix veg paniyaram, paneer stir fry chettinad, veg manchurian, corn n cheese balls, appam and paneer chettinad, onion bhajjia.
Garlic Podu bread with cheese had a good crust but the topping was super greasy, the oil was literally dropping of the plate they should do something about this. Paneer stir fry and onion bhajjia was fantastic loved it! Mix veg paniyaram was undercooked so was corn n cheese balls. I would not recommend these for the appetizers. Also i did not understand their concept of giving veg manchurian in a bread, the manchurian was also undercooked and was noticed by everyone on the table. The star dish was the appam and paneer chettinad, totally loved it, i had the best appams in town, couldn't stop myself from ordering more of it! Highly recommended! The service was super quick! Only suggestion from my side would be to cook the appetizers until they are properly done. A perfect place for a lunch or dinner date, or a get together with ur friends and family! I would be coming back soon!

Visited Cafe Pondi yesterday. Ordered 2 things quickly and really enjoyed it.
1. Mangalore Filter coffee (75Rs): Coffee was given in a nice glass. Coffee smelled great and tasted even better. I am going to come to this place for coffee soon. 2 complimentary cookies were served along with coffee.
2. Appam and Paneer Chettinad (290 Rs) : Appam served was good. Nice texture. Can be better. Chettinad paneer was superb. Fresh paneer and great masala made the dish invisible in less than 10 minutes.
Ambience: Lovely place. A bungalow has been transformed into Cafe Pondi. Perfect for conversations when you intentionally keep your mobiles and watches aside. The swing they had put made me nostalgic.
Owner asked us about food quality. Feedback was shared with owner at the venue.
A perfect place for vegetarians where you can sit and talk over a delicious food and beautiful ambience .

I've been to cafes all around the city but this cafe was different, they have literally converted a huge Portuguese bungalow into a cafe, they have tables setup which are really cosy & If your in the romantic mood why not sit on their swing in the open seating area. The place is very relaxing and rejuvenating and has a sense of calm, you can play the board games they offer or relax reading a book and sipping a nice filter coffee, and they also have a good selection of books to read to pass your time from their indoor library

Since I already had lunch so wanted a light snack as I was the 'kabab-ki-Hadi' for my wife's weekend meetup where they planned for lunch here leaving me all alone to ponder around the place.
The menu is pretty impressive and simple although this is a pure Vegetarian place.
I ordered a roast vegetable sandwich and their iconic filter coffee which I heard so much about.
It took while for my order to arrive, so I got immersed in reading a book and sipping on my coffee, and when my order came, I was taken aback. Now usually when you order sandwiches you expect stuffings in slice bread, this sandwich was huge! Heard of the pokemon 'Humungousaur'!!!
And along with that there were a small mountain of fries, A salad, and some spicy chutney. Yummy! was the word. The sandwich was juicy and the roasted vegetables were succulent.
Now honestly I'm not a huge lover of Vegetarianism but this sandwich was simply yum!!
It did take me some time to finish the
Humungousaur!! But when I did, I was as satiated as one can be.

Visited this place for a Sunday brunch and it couldn't have been more amazing. This is such a pretty little place with a simple yet captivating décor. Everything right from entrance to seating area to food gives out Pondi vibes. The ambiance is serene and free of any hustle.
Coming to food, we ordered corn and cheese balls, paneer chilli scramble dosa and spicy mushroom risotto. The quantity of the cheese balls served was a bit less but the dosa and risotto were quite filling. The cheese balls were perfectly crisp and so was the dosa. The risotto was absolutely creamy and had ample mushroom pieces in it.
The staffs were courteous although the service was a bit slow. But truly this is one of the nicest cafés I have been to lately and I am definitely going to visit this place again sometime soon!!
Beautiful cafe that captures the vibrancy of Pondicherry. Electric blue & yellow shades of furniture do perfect justice to the quaint beach city.
Food is really good. “Pineapple rasam” was the best dish I’ve had here. “Appam & vegetable stew” Was delicious. “Manglorean filter coffee” was super strong & creamy, definitely tasty. “Paan panacotta” was a visual treat, & was definitely one of the best desserts I’ve had.
Totally loved the place! The ambiance is marvellous. The sitting arrangement (both indoor and outdoor) is beautiful. If you are a bookworm, this place is a beautiful library for you. You can sneak a book and enjoy your coffee with melodic music playing behind.
About the food- they have very interesting South Indian dishes with a lil twist and lil touch of western food. They have idli, uppam, dosa along with pizza and pastas. The idly waffles are must try.

As the name suggests a typical south indian restaurant. but Cafe Pondi is known for its fusion of Franco tamilian cuisines . we tried the whole menu which started with a hot cup of filter coffee served in the authentic south indian way.
The soup fusion we tried were a combination of authentic south indian Rasam with pineapple bites. And cheese potato soup.
In starters we had,
Masala potato wedges, potato wedges tossed in twisted southindian masala.
Mixed veg paniyaram,
Corn and cheese balls, Classic
Ratatouille podi crostini, turned out to be the favorite one.
The main course came in with a wide spread of,

Tomato Rasam Risotto
There is always some room for dessert, and the desserts here blown our mind. the best one to try is the filter coffee brownie with saffron ice cream and also the red velvet cheesecake, soft n creamy as hell. hard to stop on just one bite. We also tried the wobbly wobbly panacotta here topped with pan n cheery.
Over all a must visit place with a beautiful south indian feel ambience, a typical seating arrangements handpicked from pondicherry. Carnatic music playing in background sure gives a beautiful vibe and positivity.
A bit different then the usuall South Indian places..
It's a beautiful place to spend some great quality time .. they have indoor and outdoor sitting as well. Food was good , filter was #fantastic.

Cafe Pondi, I know what are you thinking about the place! A typically south Indian place serving some south India inspired cuisine. I did the same just like you I judged the book by its cover. So I decided to read the book I mean I decided to go and try the place.
The cafe is in Kalyani Nagar, in the lane which is bang opposite to joggers park. The place has beautiful decor. It is so beautiful that love, at first sight, happened to me. They have incorporated the trees and plants which makes it beautiful. They have a small indoor section which includes a library. The outdoor section is pretty big and is open to the sky and is full of plants. It's a rowhouse which they have converted into the cafe. You get the pondi vibe as soon as you enter the place, I haven't visited Pondicherry but I guess this is how it feels there. Yellow walls and blue furniture, everything is so color coordinated. Even their staff wears yellow colored aprons. The place offers great service too.
So let's talk about their cuisine. I already mentioned that I felt that this place serves South Indian cuisine I was partially right about it. This place serves Franco-Tamilian cuisine and it is their theme as well. Of course, they are not limited just to Franko-Tamilian, they have a fusion of traditional Tamilian cuisine with modern Global cuisine.
I tried a variety of food and I'm listing them below with my take on it.
Appetizers
Masala Potato Wedges
Potato Wedges tossed in South Indian masala. The masala wasn't finely ground, that gave it a texture to the wedges. Overall the dish was super tasty but binding of masala to the wedges lacked a bit. Better binding with some extra masala will take this dish to next level.
Mix Veg Paniyaram
Lentils and rice batter with a mix of veggies was used to make this dish. It was something similar to round appe which we eat. It was made in the same mold as of appes I feel, at least the shape looked like it. It was glazed with ghee and gunpowder masala. Tasted brilliant and it had a beautiful aroma as well. It was served with green and coconut chutney.
Corn and Cheese Balls
Absolutely delicious cheese balls!! Crunchy crust with cheesy stuffing was perfect. The stuffing was spiced so well, it enhanced the beauty.
Ratatouille Podi Crostini
Stewed vegetables with podi masala have to be the best fusion one can think of. Bruschettas tasted brilliant, the sauce was bit sweet and tangy and podi masala added the required hit of spice to it.
Soups
Pineapple Rassam
If I have to define this in one line then I would say "Burst of spices with a hint of sweetness"! Rassam is flavored water with some veggies, it totally depends upon you how to blend the flavors and enhance the taste. This rassam was a perfect blend and the addition of pineapple was a good decision, it balanced the spice level.
Karampodi Cheese Potato Soup
Karampodi is a spice mix which is used in south India. The soup was thick creamy and thick and delicious. This can be my comfort food for winters. One must try it to know it, it is that kind of soup.
Mains
Chennai Express Margherita Pizza
Soul of the pizza is in its sauce and of course, the amount of cheese used lol. So if you get a pizza which has yummy sauce and cheese is used generously the how you will feel? I felt exactly the same!!
Burmese Khao Sui
At first, I was a bit skeptical about this as just Burmese Khao Sui no twist no fusion nothing and after the first bite, I don't remember when did I stop!! A really good Khao Sui with a perfect balance of flavors.
Thai Green Curry
Hands down the best Thai Green Curry I have tried!! On the point on taste, on point on texture, on point color and on point aroma!! what else you need for a perfect preparation. I tried this with appam and oh god I'm in love. You can skip the rice and eat with appam and thank me later.
Appam + Mixed Stew
I was in so much with the green curry that I gave it a pass and I ate my appam with green curry. My fellow bloggers said it tasted really good and I believe them.
Tomato Rassam Risotto
A perfect fusion dish desi rassam with videsi risotto. If you are a risotto person then this thing is heaven for you.

Leaf Community Salad
WoW!!!! I don't know what was in it what veggies what dressing but one thing I know and that is it was just WOW. I rarely try salads, eating them is out of the question but I hogged on salads here. Thank you Cafe Pondi for making me eat salad(My wants to thank them).
Desserts(SINS)
Pan Pannacotta
It jiggles and it wiggles and it tastes amazing too. I like to eat pan after a good meal then why not pan flavored pannacotta!! Tasted really good.
Filter Coffee Brownie with Saffron Ice Cream
Go eat and thank Cafe Pondi for getting heaven on earth. Heavenly brownie with saffron ice cream was just out of the world. I did injustice with ice cream as I just ate the brownie, then I asked for the only brownie and ate it alone and cried happy tears.
Red Velvet Cheese Cake
This was sinful. It looked pink. It was one of the softest cheesecake available in the city. Perfect taste and soft cheesecake what else one can ask for!

Having an immense calibre to attract even a hardcore non vegetarian like me, I was literally overwhelmed by Pondi's asthetics and the cuisine as well.
Highly influenced with the french and tamil architecture giving you all the pondicherry like vibes,Pondi is not just restricting itself to only south Indian cuisine but also offers other continental varieties.
Here is what we had.
STARTERS-
1)Masala Potato Wedges -Absolutely delicious wedges with the curry leaves and the masala adding lip smacking flavour to it I literally crave for it even right now.
2)Mix veg paniyaram -Made from steaming batter and served with chutney this was worth every bite
3)Corn and cheese balls - I literally drooled for this with the cheese inside making it completely mouth watering.
4)Ratatouille Podi crostini -Small slices of toasted bread topped with veggies this one was coupled with an amazing mint chutney which I have never had before.
SOUPS-
1) Karampodi cheese potato soup- I went gaga over this. Again the amount of cheese in it created magic.
MAINS-
1)Chennai Express Margherita Pizza - A thin crust pizza topped with veggies it yeilded pleasure with every bite I indulged into.
2)Burmese Khowsuey - Let me tell you again Pondi serves south east asian cuisine as well and hence the fantastic burmese khowsuey.
3)Tomato rassam Risotto - Can you even imagine this? If not you gotta straight away head to pondi right now and gorge on this beauty !Highly recommended!
4)Thai curry and rice- I can have this literally every day. The one here was way too perfect !
DESSERTS-
1)Paan Pannacotta - Paan flavoured Italian delicacy which you should not miss!
2)Filter coffee brownie with saffron ice cream - Another scrumptious dessert for coffee lovers!
3)Red velvet cheesecake -This one has my heart!My personal favourite here .

So I was taken to this place by a friend and I must this one beautiful place to be!! Open area seating with inside seating to!! They have swing seats too. The vibe of this place is amazing. The night we went they were running out of waiters but service was still fair enough. Food was yum! I don’t know what my friend ordered in food I mean I don’t remember the name but it was yum. Cold coffee and filter coffee was cherry on top!! It’s a must family dinner place

CAFÉ PONDI
INTRODUCTION
Café Pondi is located in Kalyani Nagar near jogger park. This is a bungalow converted into a beautiful café. This place is inspired by the French colonies which are in the region of Pondicherry. The place has a touch of the Pondicherry to. It’s a all day dinning café. This place serves south Indian food having a twist with the French cuisine.
AMBIENCE
One of the beautiful ambiences I have come across is this place. It has a essence of home like feeling to it. It a bungalow converted into café. The place is having vibrant yellow colour walls to it. whole place is surrounded by trees. They have mostly outdoor seating with all the tables and chairs having a classic touch to it. The indoor seating is small as compared to the outdoor. They have whole shelf filled with book indoors. This place is colourful and vibrant. Its feels good to be here.
APPETIZERS
Murukku Nachos
Murukku is basically a chakkali which is less spiced. The murukku is made of rice flour and dal flour. This was murukku was topped with fresh tomato salsa and some cheese. The salsa had the perfect tang to it and the murukku was nice and crisp. This was a perfect appetizer to start off your meal.
Malabar Poutine
Poutine is a dish which has French fries and some cheese topped on it. Here they had replaced the French fries with a more Indian rather more south side dish. Homemade potato and cheese bread freshly made was the replacement of the fries. These bread where tossed with Malabar spices. The Malabar spices mainly has spices like coriander seeds, clovers, cumin and some mustard seeds. This bread was also coated with some desiccated coconut too. topped with melted cheese. This was blast of flavours in mouth.
Mixed Veg Paniyaram
Paniyaram is nothing but the appes we eat. These were made from rice and urad dal which where swallow fried. This was then tossed in some mustard seed and some chilli powder and some curry leaves to give that extra spice to it.
MAINS
Appam served with Chennai Avial
Avial is a basic stew or curry made from yoghurt and has a strong flavour of curry leaves to it. It had veggies like carrots, French beans, some bitter gourd along with some coconut in it. The curry was made in mustard oil giving a hint taste of mustard to it. The curry was mild on spice but blast of flavours in mouth a must try dish.
Dosa Margherita
A dosa with a twist to it. Instead of filling the dosa with the normal masala they had filled the dosa with some spicy green chutney and some grated pieces of paneer chenttinad and some cheese. The dosa was good overall but the paneer and cheese tasted a bit dry.
Tomato Rassam Risotto
One of the best fusions of the classic risotto with the south Indian rassam. The risotto was perfectly cooked. The risotto was cooked in cream and cheese and this gave a nice cheesy flavour to it. The rassam was poured around the risotto. The rassam was a bit on spice and tangy which complimented the cheesy risotto well. A must try dish here.
Idli Waffle with Tomato Korma
Waffle made completely for idli batter. The waffle was light and fluffy as an idli. This can be cooked according to our preference, it can be made crisp or it can be soft as it is. The korma was having base of the tomato to it and a strong flavour of curry leaves. The combination of this two was just perfect of the taste buds.
PIZZA
Chennai Express Margherita
When a south Indian meets Italian this is what they get a Chennai express Margherita. A pizza having topping of Chennai curry flavours on the top. The pizza had a normal pizza sauce as the base sauce on this they had used the curry sauce which is usually made of red chillies. To finish it off the pizza was topped with curry leaves and mozzarella cheese. It had the perfect spicy and tangy flavour to it. It was bit dry using some more sauce would make it more joy full to eat
Chettinad Cottage Cheese
The pizza was having the topping of paneer that is the cottage cheese which was roasted along with the chettinad spices. The base of pizza was the same pizza sauce and then topped with gun powder and the paneer and some mustard seed. The same story with this pizza to it was dry.
DESSERTS
Paan Panna cotta
Paan cotta is a Italian dessert made cream which is thicken with gelatine. The panna cotta is usually on less sweeter side. The more the wobble nicer the panna cotta. This panna cotta was having essence of pan flavour and was topped with desiccated coconut and some edible leaves which are used for making paans.
Filter Coffee Brownie with Saffron Icecream
A Brownie made from filter coffee and then topped with a saffron icecream. The brownie had the perfect coffee flavour to it. But it was more dense could be more moist. The icecream on the top complimented the strong taste of coffee.
VERDICT
This is a very beautiful place. Its feel like home to be here. The food here is way different from what we usually eat. The pricing of the dish is great its not too heavy on the pocket. The food is damn good. A place where you can come with your family or with your date.
Give "good time" another name and it's "Cafe Pondi". Tastefully set antiques from Pondicherry and attention to little details make for a great ambience.
The menu is just varied enough for everyone to find something they'll enjoy; with a Pondi twist. The Paneer Chettinad and Mushroom Chettinad are delicious. The pineapple rasam is just the right combo of sweet and tangy and the Burmese Khousuey is scrumptious coconutty creamy goodness. Highly recommended!
Definitely worth sparing a lazy weekend afternoon to swing by Kalyani Nagar for a meal at Cafe Pondi for great food and conversation.

There’s also this small book shelf where you can come over a coffee which is their speciality and read/work as much time you want.

The ambience is classy, beautiful and lovely.
The service is quick.
Mix Veg Paniyaram - Those were mini idlies or appe with veggies in it. It was shallow fried so was less oily. It was little crunchy, soft, tasty and Good.
Murukku Nachos - The murukku was topped with lot of cheese and served with salsa. They were crunchy, crispy, cheesy, tangy and amazing.
Tomato Chutney and Cheese Crostini - It was a crust bread topped with tomato chutney and topped with Cheese. It was a lot tangy, little spicy and yummy.
Appam and Paneer Chettinad - Two appams were served with paneer curry.
The Appam was topped with a lot ghee. It was perfect in texture. The taste was delicious.
The curry had paneer and veggies. The paneer was soft and fresh. The curry was little tangy, little spicy and nice. It need to be more spicy.
Payasam - It's like a rice kheer topped with lot of pistachios. It looked a small portion but it went heavy on stomach later.
The taste was heavenly.
It was flawless in taste, texture, consistency, sweetness.
Visited the place today and I must admit I loved every minute of it.
Usually I don't write reviews but the amazing experience compelled me to write the review.
Food was amazing and I never had Sambhar this delicious. It's was just wow.
Ambiance: 5/5 , given that it was a weekday, there were just a handful of people. Hence, it was very peaceful, soothing topped with good background music. It felt like I was away from all the tension and the Shor-Sharaba of the world.
Food: 5/5 Appam, paneer Dosa and Filter coffee was amazing. Cheese balls were ok.
Staff: 5/5. Very courteous and decent.

Cafe Pondi brings you the vibes of pondicherry with bright yellow walls, blue chairs and cozy vibe. As soon as you enter this place you will be mesmerized by the ambience! They also have an outdoor seating.
Starting with food:
1)Rasam Risotto: Rustic rice and rasam are whisked in submission to give you a risotto. The presentation of this dish will make you go drool over it
2)Appam with Paneer Chettinad: I was completely in love with this dish! The smoothness of paneer and spiciness of chettinaad with soft appam! Hiw can this dish be not tasty?
3)Ghee and Masala appam: You will find all types of appam here. Ghee appam was spongy and delicious but masala appam was outstanding. The flavours of masala and smoothness of appam literally melts in your mouth.
4) Idli waffle: A completely new concept. Idli + waffle. Grilled rice waffles topped with sambar, butter sauce and chutney.
5)Filter Coffee: Now who doesn't love filter coffee? A typical south indian coffee made by mixing frothed milk and boiled milk brewing finely ground coffee powder in a traditional indian filter
6)Salted Caramel: One of the best frappe I have had. The taste of Caramel and coffee balanced really well.

Pure vegetarian, authentic South Indian food (tamilnadu). Beautiful ambience, indoor and outdoor seating. Best in class customer service. Top hygiene. And, the best menu (innovative) and the best taste...
It is in the residential area of Kalyani Nagar. You can expect total silence around.
I would recommend to go there in taxi / cab, as parking is an issue in the small lane. Though, I won't take away any stars for that.

A real fun culinary experience. The serene outdoorsy ambience with a French color scheme resembling Pondicherry is a surprise element in midst of a busy Poona neighbourhood.
One could spend a long time with family and friends and feel relaxed. The hostess was very helpful and attentive. The service needs a little pep talk but overall staff was very friendly.
The food was excellent. It is presented well and is very appetizing. We were a large group so tried out variety of dishes on the menu. The twist and interpretation of different foods from regions of India and dishes from around the world is really a treat to the palate.
The Biryani, Chennai Express Margarita and the Paan Pannacotta are dishes that we all savoured. Highly recommend this place.

Cafe Pondi located in the beautiful lanes of Kalyani Nagar near the Jogger's Park is an amazing open air cafe. Parking can done in the adjoining lanes.
The ambiance is absolutely stunning. There is an open air section under the canopy of trees and there is plenty of seating indoors. Books are available to read as well. The atmosphere is so comforting that you can easily spend several hours here. The service is slow and servers are average. Non south Indian folk will need some help while ordering here.

Mix Veg Paniyaram - Spiced Appam balls
Pondi Club Sandwich - Typical Club Sandwich. Nothing different.
Appam + Paneer Kondapuri - Appam served with paneer in tomato-coconut gravy. Opt for Ghee Masala Appam over the regular appam.
Green Moong Pongal with Desi Ghee - Moong Dal khichdi with cashewnuts. Rich and delicious.
Paan Pannacotta - Subtly sweet gulkand dessert
Mangalore Filter Coffee - Stronger than usual coffee.
Average Dishes:
Maddur Wadai - Small hard dal wada
Mysore Bonda - Small hard medu wada
Garlic podi bread with Cheese - 8 inch thin crust pizza like garlic bread with 8 pieces.
Pineapple Poha - A very random combination
Masala Chai - Watery and unflavourful.
Overall, this place offers an excellent ambiance and good food, which is really value for money. Definitely a place to visit for Sunday Brunch or romantic date.

A very nice cafe.. calm and peace u can describe it as. One can work, chill, read etc there while having some crunches. Dishes are all tasty and take less service time. Naturistic architecture. Indoor and outdoor eating space. All in all a good place.
Located on lane no. 13, opp. Joggers Park, Kalyani Nagar, the resemblance of French quarter can be seen at this restaurant, feels like eating at home. Nice resto with soft music playing around. Dishes here have different name as it's have some south touch to it. I ordered Nachoes with cheese and they provide me chakli topped with cheese and mavnies. Though it tasted good it is something unexpected. Price is bit higher here and not easily located in kalyani nagar. Parking is also problem.
But overall good place to hangout with friends and new menu to explore.
A bungalow turned into a restaurant.. beautiful ambience.. has small library.. differently prepared yummy south indian food with a tadka.. everything we had was definitely tasty. Only thing, on the day we went their chef were on holiday, due to which service was extremely slow that we had to cancel one or two orders! Otherwise it's a must try place! Also, my baby was sleeping and the staff co operated so well to put her at ease even on sofa chair.

Cafe Pondi is one of the most cosy places in Kalyani Nagar you can ever find. Peaceful ambience to relax and take a break from Ur work schedule. The best past of this place is the books that they have. (If your a book lover) service a bit slow. Filter coffee on point however the food portion is less compared to pricing.

A very well set up. It gives you the feel of Auroville Pondicherry. Menu has the south Indian dishes modified for a cafe. Do try the Idli waffle served with coconut chutney and the filter coffee brownie with ice cream. They offer good sandwiches. Welcome to the leaf community. They serve water with mint leaves, brownie too has a mint on top.
