Underrated place for the food quality, service and price. Ambience is also good. Visited the place couple of times recently and did not disappoint at all. Mostly tried nonveg from chicken to fish and cannot complain about anything. From starters to main course every thing tasted good. I was here for lunch on a weekday with colleagues from office.
We ordered tandoori chicken, reshmi kebab, murg musallam, chicken dopyaza. Everything tested good and the portions we're generously sized. The mocktails were good too.
The food beat my expectations.
Tip: some of the traditional items like Murg Musallam were not on the menu but we were still able to get them. Ask the waiter if you want something like that.
Service was very good.
The ambiance is not super premium, the place look old. But still neat and clean and should work for business lunches.
The prices are very reasonable considering the location and the food quality.
I will definitely go back here for office outings. It is also worth a try for family dinners.

Seafood... Rahul. The best option near FC Road! The one item which needs to be lauded is the "Crab Tawa". I would need nothing else to accompany it, maybe max a butter garlic nan!! It's a meal in itself!
Its a dry preparation, with loads of garlic, onion and red masala, the crabs are big and fleshy.
The other items I had was patrani fish, which is fish steamed in banana leaf with green masala and lots of it.
The spicy Tiger Prawn in red sauce is a chinese preparation and awesome with some plain haka noodle. The crispy chicken we had was too dry, we expected a Chinese preparation with some garlic, chilly, spring onion tossed up, but this was dry fry.
Veg crispy on the other hand was better. Surmai fry, bombil fry was okayish. Another starter which is nothing like its name, but tastes awesome is Chicken Khasta kabab, which is big succulent pieces of chicken, cooked on grill with yummy masala.
Add to it they have a good bar and very polite and good service.
P. S. The entrance is a bit shady, got the courage to go in after seeing such good reviews!!

We ordered spicy seafood soup and lemon coriander soup. While seafood soup was good, to my astonishment, lemon coriander was very spicy but it had lots of good vegetables.
For starters, we ordered Tawa Crab (boneless), Chicken Chianmai and Veg Mums. Tawa Crab was good and quantity was huge. We had to pack almost 1/3rd of it. Chicken was good too but veg chums had an overdose of garlic and was little high on green chilli in it. But overall, starters were flavourful.
For main course, we had Surmai fish curry and Chicken Chingari Masala with Neer dosa and kulcha. Fish curry was too good and chicken was also good at taste as well tender. There were two slices of surmai in the fish curry.
One portion of Neer dosa comes with 3 pieces. They were very soft and light. Later we also ordered Appam but Neer Dosas were too good.
Overall a very nice place. Good flavourful good especially seafood. By the time we finished lunch at 1.30 the restaurant was packed. So, better to reach early and enjoy the food.

10 years back I was frequent visitor to this place for Patra fish. Today was bit hesitant to enter the place after so many years. The place didn't disappoint me. Being with chicken lover didn't got chance to try sea food.We ordered simple lunch murg lahori ,roti and biryani.Food quality was really good and prompt service even being Sunday lunch. Rahul Restaurant and Bar is one of my absolute favourites and most evergreen restaurants of the town with two branches at Shivaji Nagar and Aundh. Dishes of the day included:
Veg Wonton Soup (Rs. 120)- Medium Spicy with deep fried wontons. Delicious enough to began a good meal.
Chicken Sholey Kabab (Rs. 270)- High on spices, this has been an all time favourite at both the outlets! Not for the faint hearted!
Chicken Kolhapuri (Rs. 250) - Another consistent delicacy of the place is chicken kolhapuri. High on spices and even higher on taste, I've had this dish over five times without being disappointed even once.
Veg Triple Fried Rice (Rs. 190)- Fried rice, noodles, chunks of broccoli and other vegetables topped with fried noodles and shezwaan sauce, this delicious dish is a steal at Rs. 190 with the amount of quantity they serve!
For all the years I've been in Pune, this has been one restaurant that has never disappointed whether in terms of service, quality or even delivery of food on special occasions and holidays! Kudos to the team!

Patra fish a must try. This was probably the first steamed fish dish for me and it was fantastic.😄😄 Also must try is the chicken manglorian curry... You could always try same curry with fish but we heard chicken was a sure shot winner and it was! Kababs not too great - we tried tangdi kabab. Reasonably priced beer 😄
Not much to talk about ambience, typical ac nonveg restaurant smell but good service to sort of compensate for it?
Will be visiting again for sure.

"Rahul, naam to suna hoga?" I just couldn't pull myself out from mentioning this dialogue from a very famous Bollywood movie. Here's introducing to you, Rahul Restaurant & Bar, highly recommended by a very good friend of mine and his wife too!
Situated right opposite an over bridge that connects Shivaji Nagar and Pune Station Road, the complex that houses this restaurant, also has a single screen cinema hall that has been quite famous for many decades now.
The restaurant is known for its seafood and spicy Chinese/Thai fare. After watching a very soul-stirring movie, dining here was the best option at our disposal.
Some of the amazing dishes we ordered were; (for 3 persons only)
Spicy Thai Prawns, Bombay Duck (Fried Fish in Crunchy Batter), Mutton Sheek Kebab, Mutton Rogan Gosht, Tandoori Naan
The drinks we glugged down were;
Sweet Lime Soda (2), Virgin Mojito (2), Orange Punch (1), Jack Daniels with Coca-Cola (2 small pegs)
Boiled Peanuts, Crunchy Mixtures and Koshambi (Thick Curd Raita) were served on a complimentary basis.
The food did take a while to be served, yet admittedly the dishes were quite tasty and up to the mark. Even the drinks kind of complimented every dish. Service is satisfactory and the bearers had good knowledge of almost all the dishes.
This restaurant is recommended for Saturday/Sunday dinner gatherings with family and friends.

We were suggested Prawns Spicy & Surmai Tandori for starters & Crab masala with neer dosa as main course. We also tried Prawns Biryani which was delicious. Some of my friends had ordered veg which was great too!

Though I was thoroughly disappointed with their prawns chatpata and fish curry, rest everything was too good.

I had visited previous version of this restaurant 3 years back in Pune when I was working as trainee. This restaurant was only for booze. But now to my surprise this has become one of the Finest ambiance based restaurants situated in university road. To my surprise I have seen corporate employee's having their lunch,so u could imagine the kind of ambiance it will have.
Food -3.5 ( I didn't like paneer peshwari which seemed to be like butter paneer masala. Rest of the items was good)
Service - 5 ( I have never seen such a quick service in Pune atleast)

Rahul's review is pending since long. Its my preferred place for drinks and dinner ever since its renovation.
For me Rahul fits in the category of resto bar where u can take a family or "decent" crowd along. They serve alcohol by peg system and by half or full bottle. Honestly I feel prices of a bottle are tad bit high, but the food, ease of parking and decent crowd around makes up for prices.
In food, my all time favourite dish is patrani macchi. Four pieces of surmai fish are wrapped up in banana leaf and served. Tandoor preparations and fish tawa/rawa fry are also decent.
I never tried extensive main course though, but chicken mangalorean curry and appam were tasty and good enough for 3 people.
Overall, I like the place because of food, ease of access and parking, crowd and prices.

A great place to venture with some really old mates - say after 2 to 3 years gap. We relished the evening with all old time talks and happenings plus the latest progress in life. Oops - missed to mention the eatables ordered - Chicken Chinmay ( sounds different) and Fish as starters and main course - Chinese Kung Pao Fried Rice and Hakka Noodles - oh and the toppings ( Beer and Mocktails). Can't menton more about the spread out we had - visit once and enjoy the food !

A very good place for a casual dinner , the food is excellent and good prices , the ambience is good, service is ok a bit slow , they have good offers going on, so do check with the captain before ordering especially for drinks. We ordered mojito and a blue cocktail and one was free on it , so got gimlet ,, the cocktails were good ,, ordered for fish tikka which was very well done , Reshmi kebab and chicken crispy - the chicken crispy were big chunks of chicken in a green palak marination deep fried, though nice I wanted the regular chicken crispy as it was under the Chinese section ,, chicken tandoori was very succulent and well done ,, the masala had percolated nicely and was flavourful in every bite , the mutton biryani was good and so were the sholay kebab ,, the butter chicken was nice and not very sweet ,, all in all I recommend this place - very good
All the hype about good fish dishes took us to this place at Ganeshkind. We tried Bombay Duck n Lady Fish Tawa in Starters, Surmai Curry n Neer Dosa in Main Course. Wasn't much impressed with Bombay Duck and yeah it's a fish preparation. The Lady Fish Tawa did promise but wasn't prepared well for our serving as it was very salty to be considered a starter but the masala was good. The Surmai curry was good to have with some Neer Dosa n steam rice. Though it didn't live upto my expectations but overall a 3.5 rating to suffice.

This week after ages visited Rahul Restaurant one of the finest restaurant of all times. If you wish to eat sea food this is the place to be always see the size of the raw fish as sometimes the sizes of the fish may vary. This restaurant always keeps up to the current trends of the interior and the new fresh looks gives an awesome feeling while having food. To begin with starters we had tandoori prawns and chicken tikka just perfectly cooked. Crab masala is just too good and don't forget to have some neer dosa with it. Rahul is one of the good restaurants in Shivajinagar, Pune! It is at prime location with ample parking. The ambience is good. This restaurant serves some of authentic south Indian dishes like Veg Manglorian Curry which tastes quite yummy with Neer Dosa/Appam. My other favorite is Veg Tum Yum Soup, Veg Stewed Rice. Cost wise, it's reasonable!

I have been visiting this place since a long time with my family. Love the food and ambience. The staff too is very co-operating and prompt at their service. If you want to try good seafood, especially prawns, lobsters and crabs, you must visit Rahul.. The only problem is that at times you have to wait for sometime to be seated..but it is definitely worth the wait...

No other restaurant can match the taste served here...NonVeg options are more authentic and rich in taste as compared to veg...Visiting RR from early 2000; till date and there is no change in taste...So must visit place...😊☺️😋
