Phoenix Marketcity recently organized the first ever Food Trail 1.0 in town with the most popular food bloggers go head to head in a contest for the best blog. Participating restaurants were 212 All Day Café & Bar, Copper Chimney, Cuba Libre, Khiva and Indigo Delicatessan.
Participating bloggers had to randomly pick a restaurant and an ingredient. Based on the ingredient they chose, they had to order a dish from the menu of their chosen restaurant which they feel hero-ed the ingredient. Every blogger was given a voucher worth Rs. 1500 in which to manage their orders.
I picked “Copper Chimney” as the restaurant and “Fish” as the ingredient. So far, so good. But now comes the tough decision. Fish being such a common and abundant ingredient, how do I showcase a dish that heroes it like none other?
The restaurant, Copper Chimney, is an ode to the secret recipes and cooking techniques that the founder, Mr. J. K. Kapur envisioned using influences from the slow cooked dishes across undivided North India, from Peshawar to Delhi. He always wanted to share the culinary experiences reminiscent of his years growing up near the North West Frontier Province.
Their Ustads’ [a more respectful way of addressing the chefs, that Copper Chimney has adopted] in-depth knowledge about ingredients, expertise in cooking techniques, command over textures and tastes, and their experience in the kitchen sets them, and in turn, their food apart.
I discussed with the Ustad about identifying a dish on the menu which featured fish and yet was distinctly different from other fish-based dishes. The name that instantly came forth, the Fish Rahra [Rs. 375 for regular portion, Rs. 495 for sharing portion].
Traditionally the Rahra dish is made with mutton and sometimes with chicken, another protein that can be easily customized. But here, Copper Chimney has redefined the Rahra by making it with fish.
Made using Rawas fish, the fillets are simmered and served in a spiced tomato and sautéed brown onions gravy. The gravy itself was made with such perfection, it tasted heavenly. All the spices made their presence felt, albeit subtly and the base of tomato and sautéed onions provided the tangy and sweet flavors. And the fish fillets only elevated the dish even more. Absolutely melt-in-the-mouth cook on the fish, literally falling apart when forked.
The dish would go well with any Indian breads, with rice or even by itself. I would rate the dish a complete 10. #YumYum #HighlyRecommended
I also tried their Tandoori Fish Tikka [Rs. 625] to get a better understanding of how they treat their fish. This one had chunks of fresh fish marinated in Punjabi pounded spices and grilled. Lovely char on the edges, the inside was still soft and tender.
Apart from the star dish, I sampled a few of their other specialty dishes, like the Copper Kadak Roomali [Rs. 225], Chili Cheese Naan [Rs. 250] and Vegetable Dum Biryani [Rs. 375] and a Khatta Jaljeera [Rs. 195] for company.
The Khatta Jaljeera was the apt representation of our favorite ice-gola. Instant connect with our childhood memories.
The Kadak Roomali with loads of diced tomatoes and onions and garnished with coriander and red chili powder, looked colorful and tasted just as good. The Chili Cheese Naans could’ve been a little thinner, in my opinion. The thickness skewed the flavor balance a tad.
The Dum Biryani was extremely well cooked with the right proportions of veggies to masala to rice. #DeliciousDelicious
Copper Chimney proudly states on their menus, “Indian Food, Made Unforgettable” and their quality of dishes put forth and the keen and attentive service only helps stamp this on the diner’s experience.
The esteemed judges for this unique food trail are Karen Anand [Culinary Expert], Raul Dias [Travel-Food-Luxury Writer], Sameer Malkani [Co-founder, FBAI] and Roxanne Bamboat [Food & Travel Afficianado].
The excitement of participating in such a Food Trail was evident in everyone’s participation and it certainly was a unique way to judge the best blog!
Its an amazing place for a quiet dinner with family.. The food is good and the staff us extremely warm and friendly.. all in all, I would definitely recommend this place to everyone.

I’ve been to other Copper Chimney’s across Pune but this one has been by far THE best!! With a family, out for a vegetarian dinner, and the food here is finger-licking. Special mention for the Chole they serve. My father has a soft corner for Chole and he said in 60+ years, the one he ate today was the best! Second best item to have here is the stuffed aloo kulcha!
This place never disappoints me. They surge delicious North Indian food. Ambience is also great for a good family meal.
Went to try their signature chelo kabab. It was absolutely delicious. A must must try! The ambience is great. Price is slightly on the higher side. But taste makes up for it.

Was here last weekend with my family, I have previously been to the Worli branch in Mumbai of Copper Chimney.
I tried there Benaras Malai Kofta & Roti. Subji was delicious and had balanced taste. We also tried there Biryani which was also great.
Also ordered their dessert Muzaffer which became my favorite from my earlier visit, But the taste was no where near to the one i had earlier. So was left disappointed a bit because of that.
Overall the place is good, This one is located in Phoenix mall and has some amazing artworks on the wall. Good ambiance, Perfect place for Family dinner.
The ambience and the food both goes well.
The presentation of the food here is 10/10. 💙
One should definitely try kadak rumali! Nice crispy naan with topping of masala, onion and tomatoes..

There are multiple options available but I have come across this very nice ambience and mouth watering food place, yes I am taking about copper chimney only.
I have had team lunch here . It was buffet lunch but the standard of taste is very good compared to buffet lunch I have had.

I loved the food and friendly staffs here. There's decent number and variety on the menu for non vegetarians. Especially loved the Fish Tikka. Chicken dishes in main course looks authentic on the coaster,but when you come down to it it's not upto the mark. Ambiance and Decor is Ok,Seating comfortable. Charges are a little on the higher side.Basically, a good family restaurant with authentically home- made tasting dishes.
Hi , this is my almost 4th or 5 th time .. this is my favourite place whenever I visit to Pune I make sure that I have atleast 1 lunch here. It's one of best place . Let's start with dessert fan of rabdi and small gulabjamun . Biryani is my favourite too , in main course I mostly go for paneer very fresh and soft. Than fan of big roomali roti khakra served with tomato onion salad on top of it
This restaurant is conveniently located in Phoenix Market City Mall and the ambiance is very nice and peaceful. The decor is very interesting and earthy. We went for dinner and tried their butter chicken, garlic naan and chicken dum biryani. The taste is authentic and the blend of the spices are surely to tickle the right notes of your taste buds. The portion served is also good and the staff is very courteous. We had a great experience and would definitely recommend for a dinner with family and friends.

Copper Chimney- This place located in Viman nagar has got beautiful yet sturdy ambience. We were here for their buffet tasting. Before proceeding let me tell you, it's the first place in Phoenix Market City where you can enjoy spread buffet.
Staff- The service was bit slow.
One has got quite a few options to choose from spread. You have amazing salads. Salad freaks you need not to worry 😜 . In starters you have 2 starters each in non veg and veg . I have totally loved the starters. The fish fingers were too good and not to oily and the coating was well balanced of spicyness. Mushroom and paneer starter was lipsmackingly amazing. The main course chicken curry was best. We ordered lime juice, but unfortunately mocktails weren't satisfactory.
Desserts were good too. Gulabjamuns here has my heart. They were very soft and sweetness was well balanced. Couldn't resist myself by having just one bowl full of gulabjamuns😛.
All in all, had great time. Do visit the place and enjoy their awesome delicacies.

I recently visited this fabulous restaurant on the top floor of phoenix market city as they have started their new buffet spread and its the first of its kind in phoenix, they had so much variety that it was really difficult for us to choose from and trust me that's a good headache to have.
Ambience:- It's always a treat to visit copper chimney as it's so beautiful that you won't be able to take your eyes off the decor, very well designed and gives a very happy vibe to all the customers.
Food:- They had so much variety in the spread in both the veg and non veg section, the food was very fresh and everything was prepared keeping the Indian palate in mind.
Quality:- The food was served piping hot to us and everything was absolutely exquisite.
Service:- The service was pretty amazing and the serving staff was very understanding and attentive as they were serving all the dishes once we were finished.
All the breads and the beverages were served fresh to the table.
Hygiene:- The place was really hygienic and the dishes were change after every course.
Cost:- The cost of the buffet is very affordable and they have many other offers to add on to their buffet.

Unique ambience with a pleasant food experience. We had ordered Paneer Tikka and Tandoori Shashlik as starters which were pretty good and Kadhai Paneer with roti basket for main course. Ordered Fresh lime soda, Virgin Mojito, Fresh Fruit Margarita as Beverages. Overall a happy experience and must visit place in Viman Nagar.
Superb makhani chicken, one of the yummiest butter chicken I ever had. Tomato soup and chicken soup were 100% as per expectation. Chura paratha is as good as my mom's churi paratha. Service is little slow. Probably staff is less. Table is small for a family of 4. Quantity is very less compared to the price of each dish. High on budget.
After a tiring day shopping at the mall decided to have a good North Indian food for dinner .

One of the first things about copper chimney in Phoenix that will strike you are the interiors. It is a classy good looking restaurant. The food is equally good. Moving over from their regular butterchicken, we have their biryani and kebabs a shot this time. The biryani was good, but the kebabs stole the show. I really loved the Ambiance of Copper Chimney. Looks really rich and classy. Just after entering, we are in love with this place.
As we were invited there for new menu tasting by chef. From staff to management to PR all are very supportive and polite to us. And that's really great.
So we tried some starters, main course and desserts. And each and every dish we tried was delicious and mouthwatering.
I really enjoyed the dinner over there. Would love to visit this place again.

Copper Chimney being one of favorite North Indian fine dine restaurants has always been a childhood favorite. I've been to their Mumbai branch on numerous occasions and I've never been dissappointed. finally had the chance to try their Pune branch at Phoenix Market City I can surely say that things have only got better.
To my luck I had the pleasure of trying their newly launched menu which has a whole new choices of grill and kebabs.
Classy interiors and a friendly staff are makings of a very Happy dining experience here.
What we had:
Delhi Shikanji: the good old shikanji with its chatpata flavour was the right pick to awaken my taste buds.
Kadak Rumali Cheese Masala Papad: this is one of their trademark items in the menu and it didn't dissappoint. me personally not being a huge fan of masala papads did love this one. it wasn't soggy at all, had the right amount of cheese and Masala on it. loved breaking a piece of it while sipping on my shikanji.
White Peppered Chicken Chops: I gotto say the chicken for all the dishes was outstanding. it was fresh, perfectly marinated and very tender. these white chicken chops were one of my favorite picks for the night. it tasted very well with some mint chutney.
Tandoori Fired Chicken: Couldn't say this was the best Tandoori Chicken I've ever had but it had its positives. the chicken was well marinated and perfectly cooked but the flavour didn't quite hit the spot for me on this one.
Delhi Fried Chicken: Who doesn't love some crispy crumb fried chicken. the was crisp, very well fried and it went very well with the dip they served. the kids would love this dish.
Chutney Fish: served on a bed of steam rice, I didn't have much expectations from the sea food here. but it turned out to be a good dish. the fish was fresh and very well cleaned. the fish did seemed to be slightly over fried though. but other than that couldn't complain much.
Mutton Seekh Kebab: This being my all time favourite, I had to try it here and they absolutely scrumptious. the Mutton was very well minced and cooked at the right heat. they soft and succulent. felt like they were melting in the mouth.
Chicken Reshmi Kebab: probably my favorite non spicy chicken from the Kebab family. these were tender and juicy. tastes awesome with mint chutney.
Had Butter Chicken & Butter Naan for main course. the Naan's were soft and not chewy. the butter chicken was spot on. right amount of sweetness and spice.
For desserts we had Almond Chikki Phirni Crumble and Chocolate Mousse.
I loved the wonderful innovation with the phirni with crushed almond chikki sprinkled on it with a few kiwi slices.
My overall experience at Copper Chimney was truly amazing and I was satisfied with every aspect of it from service to food. It's a must visit for a truly royal dining experience.

Located on the top floor of the phoenix mall, Viman Nagar, Copper Chimney legit looks like medieval tavern from the outside.
With beautifully designed interior, lights and the unique bells hanging from the ceiling, it made it's own mark.
Starters:
Kadak Roomali – We started with Kadak Roomali which was in a shape of a big bowl. It was a crisp roomali roti with all the spices spread proportionately at the center.
Achaari Mushroom – Probably one of the best mushroom dishes in town. Fresh and spicy mushrooms tossed in pickle and flavored with mustard. A perfect starter.
Hung yogurt tikkis – You won’t get this is many restaurants. Crispy tikkis with a twist of curd stuffing. The flavour is tempting and you will enjoy each bite of it. This is a must try dish!
Mutton seekh kebab - Classical mutton seekh kebab. Soft, spicy and melting in mouth.
Tawa Imli aloo - Potato cubes marinated with imli juice, and spices with just right crispness and spicy notes.
Paneer tikka - Vegetarians have a lot of hope in paneer dishes. But, here they let down the vegetarians. Paneer was not cooked well and it tasted bland. This one was not upto the mark.
Mocktails:
Passionfruit orange Margarita - A beautiful non-alcoholic take at margarita. Passionfruit juice with slowly melting iced passionfruit, infused with beautifully cut orange slice.
Delhi Shikanji – This was not a regular shikanji. It had a twist of spices and mint which makes you go “ek baar piyoge toh peete reh jaoge”.
Main Course:
Chicken Dum Biryani - Biryani is the unique mixture of rice, spices, and gravy, which, when consumed with the chicken, delivers one to heaven. This Biryani was a bit of a letdown. It was more of a Kesar masala pulav rather than dum Biryani. It tasted well with the nicely marinated chicken pieces.
Punjabi onion and mirch roti – Spicy roti dressed with onions and chillis. It’s different! This is a must try!
Roomali roti – Soft and served like a well ironed handkerchief.
Punjabi aloo – Regular potatoes with masala. Nothing special about the dish. Not recommended.
Desserts:
Rasmalai – Super soft rasgullas with perfect amount of sweetness, not more not less. You can try it. Come on, it’s your cheat day!
Overall, food and service was good with a very friendly staff. If you are a Biriyani lover – Not Recommended!
Also, this place was a bit on the expensive side.

Being in restaurant business for more than 45 years is an exceptional achievement, it itself is a proof of quality and consistency.
Copper Chimney has many outlets within Indian metro cities and abroad in Kuwait and UAE. In Pune, they have their outlet in Phoenix Mall
at 3rd Floor.
Recently, I had been invited there for tasting review of their new menu launch, along with many other food bloggers of Pune City. The Ambience here is de"light"ful
which suits to the legacy of this outlet.
For starters, we were served All three variants of Kadak Roomali Roti, which were "Chilli Butter", "Chilli Butter Masala", and "Chilli Butter Cheese".
All three were lip-smacking, Masala one came with Spicy Tomato/Onions on the top and cheesy one had loads of Cheese on it. Though it looks big, it takes
little time to Finish it up.
I asked for Achari Whisky and Caipiroska in drinks. The Achari Whisky had a nice flavor of Achar, just loved how it worked out. Caipiroska was the usual one.
In Veg, other starters were Vegetable Seekh Kabab, Achari Mushroom, Spicy Cheese Naans, and Paneer Tikka. Paneer was soft and fresh, Achari Mushroom were
barbequed with mustard and pickling spices, Spicy Cheese Naans had a nice flavor of herbs and spicy green chilly, and Seekh Kababs were Soft and Tasty.
For Non-Veg, starters were Chutney Fish, Chichen Tikka, Mutton Seekh Kabab, and smoked white pepper chicken chop. Chutney fish had a tasty and spicy coating
of green chilly chutney, and it was served with rice, the combo tasted really good. Mutton Seekh was minced nicely and had a perfect charcoal flavor.
The smoked white pepper chicken chop is Baluchistani influenced dish, prepared in Copper Chimney since beginning i.e 1972. It's a roasted chicken flavored
with nutmeg, white pepper, and fresh mild green chilies.
We were so full with Starters that we had no space left Main Course, so I just ordered Chicken bharta with Panjabi Onion and Mirch Roti. It was a spicy gravy chicken
chicken dish. The Roti was simply best, it's a dish in itself, it would go with any gravy in the menu.
Last but not least, Desserts were superb. Muzaffar and Chocolate Mousse. Both were yum, Muzaffar is Lucknowi thick and rich Rabdi with golden roasted vermicelli, perfectly sweet for my liking. While Chocolate Mousse was thick and tasty.
The taste, the presentation, the ambiance, and the service. Copper Chimney ticks all the boxes right. This place is worth a try whenever you are planning
or having a lunch/dinner in Phoenix.

Casual dining Restaurant serves North Indian premium cuisine. We were shopping in Phoenix so thought to try this place out
Had hung yoghurt tikki. Crispy from outside & smooth , creamy from inside, served with mango pulp (which was surprising for us, as usually people serve mint sauce with such things)
Quantity was good & our stomach was almost full with these tikkis only and hence we ordered only mango Mastani ... no main course

Copper chimney is known for their Indian grills , curries and briyanis. A friend and me landed up here for lunch . We tried to order kebabs which was marked as SIGNATURES. But unfortunately the chicken kebab was not available. Hence we ordered for the Delhi style fried chicken and the kadak rumali roti. Both were just average. The kebab was bland , crumb fried pieces of chicken (and the portion size was a joke) . The kadak rumali was kind of stale and lacked any flavour at all (a masala papad tastes much better) . The saving grace was the raw jackfruit biryani and the chelo . Both were very flavorful and well prepared. Service is slow..but attentive.

This place is beautiful. The ambience with soothing music just makes you comfortable. They have a very humble staff and thus the service is great. Recently they have updated their menu with lots of starters, grills and desserts. So this just means that you have more options to try.
I would highly recommend to try out the drinks,
Khatta panna - Kairi panna with a touch of alcohol. For summers this is a must.
Blue Breezer - this is a paradise if you are having a rough sunny day. Taste is just light and not over powering.
Achari whiskey - As the name goes this sounds really different and you should go for it if you wanna try something innovative. Whiskey with a touch of achar tastes salty and sweet.
For starters,
Kadak roomali - This is their signature dish. There are a number of variants to try from this single dish. Would recommend the butter masala one. It's really huge and you can munch onto this for a long time.
Veg kebab - Never thought that veg kebabs can be so good. They are slight dry but the taste is really nice with all the veggies coming together and blended with ease.
Seekh kebab - This dish is my favourite. Juicy yummy kebabs served with salad taste nothing but pure perfection.
They have introduced more amazing options to try from, so why not visit them and try new options everytime.
The decor is Woody, calm and beautiful.
The service is quick.
They have launched new menu.
I loved veg seekh kebab, Banarasi Kofta, Paneer Biryani and phirni topped with vermicelli.
The flavours are rich, royal and subtle.
The kadak roomali in starters is something new.
The veggies and paneer was cooked properly and were fresh.
The cost is on the higher side.

Elite and legendary fine dine place, which serves dishes originated from the North western frontier of India, is a total winner for me. As this place gave me that, it became my instant favourite. The overall aura of this place with its ambience, lighting and props is great. Seating comfortable and cozy. Absolutely no music. Loved the place totally!
Positives: Good Tandoor dishes, Newer additions in the menu, Moderately strong cocktails, delicious mains, Cozy comfortable seating and good service.
Recommended for: Families, Dining for small groups.
Thing to remember: There are many options in the vegetarian section of the menu too.
Some must haves:
1) Skewered Chicken Kofta: Skewered mild pieces of chicken, served with white sauce. Must have if you love your starters non spicy.
2) White Pepper Chicken: 3 leg pieces of pure bliss, juicy and really delicious.
3) Kadak Roomali roti: It is the eye candy of this cafe. The moment you see someone else order it, youll buy it. Comes with 3 different toppings.
4) Mutton Seekh Kebab: Classic dish. A must have 😋
5) Fire Tandoori Chicken: Modified version of regular Tanddor chicken.
6) Khatta Panna: Aam panna with a tinge of vodka. Loved the consistency and the combo taste

The place is on 3rd floor of Phoenix mall. The food was excellent. It serves Indian food and the taste is very different from the usual ones that you get in other places. The dal tadka was the best in Pune. The staff was helpful and friendly and gave good options. The seating space is limited so it gets crowded and noisy on weekends and the service is a little slow. Nevertheless, a great place for Indian food, must try.
We dropped by at this place on a random Saturday afternoon. Ordered chicken curry (their signature dish) and tandoori roti. It was delicious. The service of the staff was also really prompt and made us feel quite comfortable.

Good upgrade to usual north Indian family restos with the bar and great ambience. Loved how everything around was Copperish, the bells hanging on top were an attraction.

Superb service. All food taste great especially the Rumali Papad and Signature chicken gravy. All the mocktails were awesome. We tried Masala Cola, RusLeela and Blue Breeze, all superb. Service from Raj was also too prompt. Manager also coming individually to all tables, that is another exception.
The place was amazing I visited this place on my birthday it was really good, the service was warm and welcoming, the food was good, loved the ambiance as well it loved the kebabs! Amazing place to be!

We were craving for some desi food when we were in phoenix mall and it was dinner time. We always wanted to visit copper chimney but somehow plan always got changed.
So finally we went here for dinner at sharp 7, it was not crowded but yeah when we finished our food , restaurant was full.
We ordered a mug of beer, kaala khatta masala soda, copper chimney chicken chop, malai kofta, stuffed kulcha, churra paratha.
Beer was chilled and my mocktails was kind of jaljeera with soda. I can barely taste kaala khatta flavour which we used to have in childhood days....those kala khatta flavoured ice gola.
Starter was amazing, right amount of spices.
Malai kofta was not enough for 2 people but somehow we managed. The gravy was of cashew and gladly it wasn't very sweet. Kofta was tasty as well. Stuffed kulcha had filling of potato masala and it was soft buttery and subtle in taste. Churra paratha was not like we had at other places. It was mediocre. Generous amount of butter or oil can make it better.
Service is quick and staff is friendly too.
Ambience is just what it should be for a family restaurant.
A must visit if you want to have desi food.
The ambience is awesome. The food is also very good specially paneer based north indian dishes are very good. Nice staff and serving. Its just a bit overpirced but overall it was good experience
Visited Copper Chimney on Christmas 2023 and really enjoyed the serene ambience and great food. The place was very spacious and had good crowd. The service provided by Amrit and Romil was very nice and the food was very good. You can visit the place with your family and enjoy a whole hearted food.
The food is primarily North Indian cuisine. The quality, quantity and service is very good. The staff are very welcoming and mostly attentive. They inform in advance as to how long it will take for a dish to be prepared. Overall a very good dining experience.
Went for a lunch meal here yesterday. Had the tandoori chicken, butter chicken, room Ali roti and Gulab Jamun.
The butter chicken here is one of my favourites and was done well. The food, however took a lot of time to arrive.

Good fine dine restaurant in the phoenix market city mall. Very good taste for vegetarians if you are looking for a hygienic place to eat with family. Mostly crowded and does not feel very fine dine types. Food prices are a bit high but worthy if you are going with family. Don’t expect exceptional taste.
Must try: Garlic Naan , Onion mirch paratha and paneer tikka masala
We always enjoy our meal here.

Found the place from Google and it turned out great for all of us. Nice food especially Rumali roti and their paneer. Very good atmosphere too inside the restaurant and outside as it is located in the popular mall in Pune.
The food here is great and quality is good. The service provided by ms gargi and raj was good and they are really humble to ask if we are having a good time.
Plus the restaurant do quality to be called as fine dinning restaurant.
I really loved this place. We ordered Paneer Masala and Dal Fry, the paneer was scrumptious, dal was good. The paneer just melted in mouth.
I visited with parents and I would like to say special thanks to Roshan for making sure we are enjoying the food. The service was just impeccable!
The food and ambience was good. We ordered Kadak Rumali roti, Kebab platter, Paneer Kurchan, Rawalpindi Gosht along with Chur chur naan. We liked all of the items we ordered.
The only thing that they could have done better is the spacing between the tables, they are near each other with no personal space when you are having conversations within your group at your table. The seating arrangement looks more like mess/fast food joint than leisure dining.
