As everyone knows this who stay in Pune kaka halwai and chitale are two femous names from decades for their sweets ...their sweets have been tried atleast once by every punekar ..so we are one of them as a punekar we always prefer to buy sweets from Kaka halwai or chitale bandhu..so this review for their snacks items like veg pattice and khandwi they are awesome whenever I get chance i always prefer to buy veg pattice from Kaka halwai..
If you have a sweet tooth you must visit this place...very well know and famous ....the flavours and texture of all sweets will be in your mouth for a long time after eating kaka halwai's mithai.
One of the best sweet shop in Pune.
Compared to other well known sweet shops, Bangoli sweets are amazing her. I have became a fan of Kalakand.
The place serves some of the best namkeen and sweet.
Everything is fresh here.
The sweets are yummy, balanced in flavours and tasty.
I love Malai Jam, Pakija, Rasgulla, Gulab Jamun and Malai Sandwich.
The namkens are also Good.
This place serves really good Moti choor laddoo.
The samosa is also good but only when piping hot. The other sweets aren’t as great as expected. Dhokla was good too. All the stars for moti choor
Wonderful collection of sweets. Good quality and at the same time well maintained. Has a wide variety of sweets and also snacks. A must try if ur as vivid sweets lover.

Good and tasty sweets are truely available here...ladoos are always awesome here. U can also try rasmalai and other kheer stuffs. They have loads of dry fruits collection as well.evening time samosas are also good to have....
Nice taste of every sweet. Taste is maintained per sweet. Very good managment as digitized. Kesar pedha and kaju katli are my favourite. Not so much of queue issue. 👍👌
There of us friends visited this mithai shop. It is very famous in the area. As soon as I entered, the shop was full of sweet smell. We tried raj bhog (it was really raj in size), boondi ki mithai (it went directly into the mouth without any effort) and samosa. Worth trying and pocket friendly.
Ambience-4/5
Value for money-4/5
Quality of food-4/5
Had been to this place on Dusshera. I wanted to try the sweets out here, since it is so famous.
As soon as I went in I was so excited to see the desserts and most of all gulab jamun(kala jamun). Immediately I had one after the other on the spot,it was amazingly delicious. Also a friend of mine had moti chur ka ladoo. It had just the right amount of sweet in it,not too much at all. Then we got kachori, Pattis and roll. Kachori was really tasty. Although Pattis and roll was not that amazing(recommend to stick to basics when we go to a sweet shop). Also we got Rajbhog packed and it was worth every bite. The place was all jam packed due to festivial time. I recommend to try it out atleast once, when in pune. It is going to satisfy all your sweet tooth cravings and more.
This is a landmark in Aundh.. this is one of the oldest franchisee of miṭhai shop in Puṇe.. you can experience the journey of taste from Poona to Puṇe..
Very organized, fresh and updated sweets menu.. Also one of the most famous sweet shop chain in Pune. These guys have a wide range of sweets, you should specially try Bengali sweets segment.. Yummy! :)
Sweet map in Aundh has enriched a lot since Kaka Halwai branch is opened. Different sweet segments and namkeens has made it a dependable place.
If they work on introducing their customers with sweets from across India that will make it a complete sweet shop. Also please try to bring new twist in you sweets.
steamed modak .................... this is one of the best so far...... loved it
Being a bong, I naturally had sweet tooth. But staying out if home since long, I lost that urge of having sweet for obvious reasons that I couldn't get good Bengali sweets matching to my expectations. This is one place I love for sweets n go on a guilt ride by over indulgence. Rasgulla and malai/mango burfi are my favourites from Kaka. You need to experience it to know it.Go for it anytime you think of sweets for any occasion or just to satisfy your cravings. This place will not disappoint you.
This place is located near seasons mall in aundh. They serve yummy Samos's and matar karanji..in snacks .. mango barfi ...is also nice. Service is good.
It is one of the best outlet of Kaka Halwai...
You can find multiple options for sweets and Namkeen... They also keep ghevar for special occasions...
have eaten kaju roll and kaju katli. it was really awesome. i think now i like only this one's kaju roll. but they do not have any outlet in mumbai :( i would to have mithai from from here.
Delivered stale food items. Ordered Rasgullas delivered old food stock..got stale in a day even when kept under proper refrigerator the whole time.
There quality has come down from before..moreover they talked rudely when complained.
11th August 2016 (Update)
They provided us replacement sweets and apologized for their staff's rude behavior..thats how u do business in a professional manner..thanks :)
Being a sweet tooth person , i almost required sweet every day . this time i choose to go to kaka ji, Quite disappointing when you are not getting fresh items and my 3.5 rating is only because of my previous experience with Kaka ji ..else not worth at all
Best samosas and motichoor laddus, compared to many sweet shops in our area. Also, the rasmalai is good. To Zomato: I don't know why we have to make our review 140 characters long.
i like my sweets sweet!!
happy to have found a place that caters to so many types of sweets including gajar halwa, ghevar and gujiya.
everything here is delicious and worth the price.
have visited many times, you can definitely go to, but make it quick, their sweets finish and sell like hot cakes.
Are you a Rasgolla lovers? Dieing to find a decent place for delicious Rasgolla? Then jump into Kaka Halwai.
Although I am not sure about their other outlets but this one in Aundh ia really famous for sweets like varieties of Rasgolla. The one is a little pricey though but worth spending. Delicious soft Rajbhoj (saffron yellow color) and best part is at its centre. Stuffed with some little pistachio and kaju there making it unique. Possibly one of the best hunt in Pune for Rasgolla...loving it:)
The price of the any of the product is on the higher side else baaki sab first_class_hai ;)
Matar_kachori was good & all the available mithaai are fresh anytime one goes to purchase!! \m/
The old school mithais can never be out of fashion ,thanks to kaka Halwai. The shop adheres to its reputation .Even though the shop is for sweets the samosas are just delicious , please don't miss it.
Good options, decent owner attitude, try pudachi wadi. Rasgulla are yummy.. Rates are on higher side. Matar kachori was good. Fresh stock is seen whenever I visited..
Having Kaka Halwai in Aundh is a wonderful asset for those of us living in the West End of Pune! You can get Gujarati Pharsan, Bakarwadis, Rasmalai and Keshari Pedhes! Do visit and plan it into your festivals and family events!
one of favorite place for snacks and meethai . I visited almost all kaka Halwai Outlets in Pune , my favorite food items are kachori , matar Karaji , chirote , palak matari , methi puri and chiwada , tasty and Namkin
The Ras malai. It's phenomenal. Out of the world. It's so we'll balanced in its taste. Fresh and soft. Be there to pick it up in the mornings because by evenings is all over. After a week I start missing the kaka halwayi Ras malai. Once you've had it, you will too
Kaka Halwai = Quality. Been to lot of sweet shops over the country, but this one being unique for their quality of sweets they deliver. as a matter of fact its highly costly when compared to other shops on the other hand if we look at the quality of sweets they offer, its excellent. I purchased the kaju badam variant of assorted sweet for diwali for all of my family members and they were highly impressed with the quality of the sweets which they tasted. Overall., if you really want to taste some quality/premium sweets in Pune city., u just take a visit to this place.
Every single delicacy ordered is perfect. Be it namkeen, chat, sweets or anything. Simply perfect in every single piece. I love this place. Rasgullas and gulab jamun are my personal favorites here.
I dnt remember how many times I have been here. I have always found myself drawn towards ras malai here. I just love their ras malai, rasogola and the wide range of namkeens too. Have unique, hassle free, organized billing system. On the whole it is the best place to try Indian desserts in aundh area.
I know everybody would have gone and tasted sweets.. Their billing system is very good..I got fresh panner it was really very much fresh and soft..
Good for a quick hunger snack . Just like every other sweet shop there is a good variety of sweets and savouries to Choose from . My recommends - noodle samosa (if you really want to go off the line) , imartis, rajbhog and aluwadi.
Zomato, why don't you allow to mark rating more than 5 for such a special once :)...
Amazing variety, awesome and different tastes of sweets and namkins... Yummy!!! I was on diet for 2months and my family made sure that I do not visit Kaka Halwai in meantime. But one sunny day ;), Ganesh Chaturthi, I had to go there to bring a Prashad for my society. And (heehahaha), I bought two more sweets along with Prashad...
Go for 'Sandesh' and Bundi ke Laddu... My altime favourite, bought from Kaka only :D...
So if you have sweets bought from Kaka Halwai, and no one to finish it of, just pick you phone and gimme a call :P
A rather big outlet of kaka halwai this one. They have their trademark varieties of sweets n dairy products at your service. I quite like their multi layer dokla and a very uniquely prepared samosa which is cut in halves. More like a hot n sweet karanji with aloo stuffing i would say.

Review No 178:
For those who called Aundh home, there is something to rejoice as Kaka Halwai is also open for customers in Aundh. For folks like me who may not muster the courage to visit the parent outlet at Sadashivpeth, this outlet in Aundh is a welcome relief.
Located at the prime area of Parihar Chowk, this outlet is in the same line of high street shops and has Shivsagar as neighbors. This outlet serves almost all (if not all) the goodies that I saw in my experience in the Sadashivpeth outlet. Some of the favorites are Rasmalai, the awesome Bhakarwadi, Peda and Samosa (the taste is slightly different from the ones we are normally accustomed to).
Service is usually prompt and with a smile in the occasions I've patronized them. No qualms there. Parking can be an issue, not as much for a 2 wheeler as much it’s for a 4 wheeler, something to look out for in the evenings. I will definitely visiting them again soon.
Final ratings on basis of the few visits made to Kaka Halwai are as follows:
Food: 3.5/5
Price: 3.5/5
Service: 3.5/5
Ambience: 3.5/5

Hungry?? Want some quick bite...
Around Aundh this is definitely a place to grab some quick bite of delicious samasos of different type A must try noodle samosa. Namkeens available here are also good.. Tried Bakarwadi, Dhokla, Khaman etc.. Sweets are also good. Everything is delicious and as well as hygienic.
Pocket Friendly
Fast Service.
One of the best place in Pune for breakfast or snacks as they have huge varieties of namkeens and sweets and everything tastes so well. Been there many times and everytime it was great experience.
Awesome ..the only word ! They have hell lot of variety of sweets , namkins. Just name it and you will find it here ! Sweets are made up of shudhdh ghee, laddoos, barfis , jamuns, rasagullas , balushahi and what not . When you enter in , just get confused what to buy nnd what to not, i just feel like tasting everything at once ..5/5...nothing much to explain why !
This is one of the best sweet serving places that I have come across in pune... Excellent variety and quality of sweets... Garam gulab Jamuns (small) sold in the evening are simply amazing. A must visit place to get variety of sweets under one roof. This outlet is the best among all.
This is one of the best place for having sweet dish.....its price is also reasonable... And if you love jaleebi then definitely you r going to fall in love with this place....and one of the best item of this place is "jalebi rabdi"..... But no place for sitting place......still then. Best place
I have rated it based on the quality sweets. I often take sweets for my colleagues for every occasion I get and they really love it. Within seconds the box gets empty and all keep asking about the shop location. And they suggest me to always bring sweets from this shop. Thanks to kaka halwai.
Kaka chi mithai lai bhari aahe :)
Just superb quality & freshness. Walk in here to get consistently good sweets.
The order of assorted pedas had malai, dharwad, kesar, sakhri and kandi peda. All were superb. With individual strands of saffron in each kandi peda it was definetely no compromise there.
Kharwas - This is not something i have seen in other store. it is sweet steamed pudding made out of milk given by a cow or buffalo within a day after she has calved. Not sure if they use that milk though..The taste is unique & has bubbled like lower texture with a very peculiar milk flavor.
Mutter karanji which is green peas stuffed karanji was good. Some spicy tangy chutney is a relish .
Bengali sweets are pretty good too! Rossogulla, chum chum & sandesh were superb.
helpful staff & delicious goods what more could one want.
Note that they do not combine pedas for single box, so for assorted you will have to buy smaller boxes of each.
Kaka halwai has always been my favourite ! The samosa, dhokla, all the sweets etc. Are always tasty. Just one request, please make some seating arrangements because it is very annoying to stand and eat , as the chairs(hardly 4/5 ) are always full.
On a 4 day trip to Pune, I was more than fortunate to have this shop located right opposite my hotel. Each and every day of my short trip meant a brief visit to this place for a daily dose of sweet and savoury goodies...:D
The franchise is probably one of the most renowned brands in Pune, well known for its superior quality of foodstuffs. Was delighted to see a grand range of sweets and namkeens stowed in the displays (each and every item was fresh and looked super appetizing). Had to try out the range of sweets we usually don't get in Delhi; mangi barfi, mango mewa barfi, orange barfi, badam pista barfi and many more. Got me some Bhakrawadi packed to take back home (again fresh and well packaged ). Bought a large variety of other sweets and namkeens too ! The place was hygienic and clean.
A word of advice... the place is best for take away. Don't expect a sit in dining experience. Try out this brand, it is definitely value for money...:)
This is strictly a takeaway place with about two or three tables placed outside just in case someone is too hungry and cant wait to dig in. I accidentally happened to discover this place while searching for a sweet called 'Kharwas' (yes, it's hard to come by). Anywho, so I ended up buying a lot more than just Kharwas and totally fell in love with the place ! So far I've sampled their famous Kandi Pedha, Angoor Malai, Rajbhog and Kharwas and can vouch for it being the best this side of town, hands-down ! There are other sweetmarts closer to home but I still don't mind going the distance just for a bite of the real stuff. Their wares are fresh, tasty and reasonably priced (given the quality).
All in all - Food - 4.5/5
Service - 3.5/5
Ambience - N/A (the place is clean and well maintained but due to the dearth of a 'real' seating area, this doesn't really count)
Value for money - 4/5
Shopping sweets for Diwali was what tempted me to try this place,
And i must confess,Kaka Halwai did impress me in several ways..
The ordering process is unique, well executed and organised,
Get your card --> choose sweets --> show your order card and pay the price..
Bengali sweets here are sold by weight, and not by quantity,
Rasmalai and Sandwich are my favorites , mouthwatering, rich and tasty. ..
All khoya sweets are pretty good, and there are numerous varieties,
But of all sweets , Jalebi rabri and Kaju Gajak are their specialities..
I tried Kaju Gajak , all thanks to Ruchi Kamble ,
They were soft, delectable ,yummy, and simply blew my mind away..
Although the taste of Kaju Gajaks is a bit similar to Kaju Soan Papdi,
But it is a must try at Kaka Halwai, and is really good indeed..
Snacks, farsan are good in taste, and their preparation is nice,
Every item at Kaka Halwai, is absolutely worth the price..
If you are Indian sweets lover, this is a place you ought to try,
So all you people craving for Kaju Gajaks, rush to Kaka Halwai..

Kaka halwai is now a brand serving quality sweets and few snacks. Their main USP is hygiene and professionalism.
Their store is not too big but quite enough to serve huge variety of fresh sweets and savory. I like chocolate milk cake the most and their dhokala and samosas. I just want them to serve green chutney which would just make dhokla and samosas even more delicious.
I would like them to make available variety of chaats and snacks -chaat papdi, dahi bhalle etc like haldirams in north India.
Its probably one of best sweet corner in Aundh.
Two words- Jalebi-rabri! I have been to Kaka for 4 or 5 times, have always tried the Jalebi-rabri everytime. THe jalebis are cooked to perfection with the right amount of sweetness in it and the rabri lends an amazing texture to the jalebis and elevates the taste manifold. On the whole- a brilliant 500 calories worth of 100Gms ;)
I absolutely love Kaka Halwai. Its a brand now and they do stand for their name. I love the Amba Barfi the most. Also, Jalebi and other sweets. I like their Dhokla a lot. They are very professional. Worth your money. :)
Kaka halwai is a shop, where you are assured for getting fresh and delicious sweets.
Whenever I am depressed or sad or looking for a change, I just visit this shop, and my mood gets a swing with the smell of delicious sweets in the shop…
No matter what kind of sweets are you looking, they have them all and they make sure that the dishes are fresh and well prepared.
The workers operate in a very hygienic manner and all the packing and serving is done carefully.
They also have a variety of snacks like Dhokla, Khandvi and samosas. I really liked the Noodles Samosas, which was fresh and yummy…
The Rasgullas and Rasmalia are their speciality, with milkcake and other barfis add to the fiest...
Apart from these, you will get a large variety of namkeens in this shop, specially the Kachri and the Bhujia’s…
No matter the occasion, this is the best shop for sweets…
Can't even compare other shops in Aundh to Kaka Halwai...
Kaka Halwai is probably the best mithai and savory snacks shop in and around Aundh. Their pillars are quality, variety, hygiene and good customer service. Once you step into their shop you are surrounded by stacks and stacks of yummy goodness. It’s like entering a temple with multiple gods..... you dont know where to go first.
In their mithai section, they have a huge variety of pedhas, barfis and rolls. Their most famous items are the rasgulla, mango malai pedha and rajbhog.
When it comes to savoury items they can get pretty innovative. Apart from the regular samosa and dhokla, they have a lot of fancy items such as open samosa. They also have some awesome chivdas and other fried snacks like chakli and sev. Most of their items have always been fresh and we’v never had any complaints with their quality.
This shop is at least a thousand times better than other shops in Aundh such as Mithas!
I had gone to Pune with a new job and a heavy heart to be so many miles away from home and the last thing I expected there was Bengali sweets. Kolkata is often characterized by 'rosogollas' and 'misti doi'. But there are just so many more of our delicious sweets that the list does not stop. And right where I got down from the bus from Mumbai was the sparkling shop 'Kaka Halwai'. Though I expected only laddus and bhakarwadi but I was pleasantly surprised to see a placard reading 'Bengali sweets available'. The counters were filled with 'rosogollas' and several types of 'sandesh', native to Bengal mostly. Though I am not much of a fan of 'sandesh' but I tasted a few and found them to be very fresh and authentic without any artificial flavouring. I would recommend Kaka Halwai for authentic sweets in Pune.
Kaka Halwai is one of the busiest sweet shops in Aundh ! Highly systematic with really a wide of variety of sweets and namkeen. The snacks are good!! The orange rasogulla is a must try here. During Ganpati and Diwali festivals, there are special chaklis and faraals available which are a must have too!!
I noticed Kaka Halwayi because of the crowd there whenever I pass through that Aundh area. After giving a try there, I came to know what's so special here. You will not find a better organized shop. Everything is perfect here right from the service, variety of items and quality of the food. We had tried almost all the sweets here and I would say this is the best shop for sweets I have come across in Pune so far. This is a must try place for all the sweet namkeen snack lovers.
Kaka Halwai has many outlets across Pune and all of them have maintained the quality of the Mithais they sell over the years. The namkeens here are as popular as the sinful sweets.
Amazing sweet dishes! A trusted place to buy traditional sweets. Special mention to the big rasagulla, kaju katli, danedar besan laddoo, kala jamun and noodle samsosa.
It's pretty much a good option but if someone tells me which I will personally choose between chitale bandhu and kaka halwai it would be a tough option as both are good brands with their own unique taste(for some sweets not all), they both have their own speciality among themselves so would be a great option if we try both the places.
This store in Aundh is quite good. The Rajbhog is a must try as also their Nachni laddoos and other sweets too.
They have an impressive range of savouries and they also store few other pre-packed branded items.
Overall very good experience and a place worth hoping in to when in Aundh
Best sweet and snacks... One of the reputed brand in Pune city... morning 10 and evening around 5 is the best time to visit for snacks like dhokla and samosa
It's a good place for sweets & namkeen snacks in pune & I also Congrat them on their 9th anniversary of this outlet. But still there is little things required to be 5 start place
The nearest authentic Kaka Halwai for PCMC people! They've everything that a typical Kaka Halwai branch should have! Good discipline is followed during rush hours and festive season. Staff is quick on feet and serve well! Must visit!
Good quality of sweets and kachori. They should sell some quantity of sweets without silverfoil.
Very nice shop visit it. There are different types of sweets and also bangali sweets & and many more namkeen products.
Good variety of sweets and namkins. Samosa and dhokla are must try
One of finest sweets shop in pune... Kaka Halwai... This store is having limited spaces but varities are many...
A one stop destination for all types of mava mithai, rasgulla, kandi pedha, ras/angur malai. It also has packed items like corn chiwda, shev etc. It also has many gujurati snacks like kachori, khandvi, samosa, and pattice. They also sell mapro crushes, chocolates, and beverages like coke. They have all methods of payment i.e. card, cash, qr code. They have cotton bags charging 10 Rs per bag so make sure you carry your own.
Best place for Indian sweets
Best in pune in my opinion, fresh and delicious as always. I am a regular customer since last 10 plus years. The taste, the freshness of the sweets are superb all the times. They maintain their quality and thats the only reason i am a regular consumer of Kaka Halwai Aundh. The mango kaju barfi is the most favourite even at my home town prayagraj. Their chhena sweets are also good.
Visited this shop for Diwali sweets, tried Special Mysore pak, which was awesome.
Everyone should try this item.
It is best to buy Boondi Ladoo's here.
And Kachori... It's Top Quality and Authentic Taste... Khasta.
Other' sweet's are excellent too.
Parking is a huge problem here because the Pune Traffic Police Routinely tow away vehicles parked on the main road.
