A must visit for the taste of an authentic Maharashtrian Thali in Pune. We visited the outlet in Camp for lunch. The place came highly recommended by our maharashtrian friends. All 18 of us tried the complete menu and all I can say we found the thalis and other dishes Lip-smacking. This place offers the the complete gastronomic Maharashtrian affair. The food is spicy, so be prepared (but ideally that is what maharashtrian food is). Service was quick and staff was helpful and very professional.

An authentic Maharashtrian Thali is a must have when you visit Pune and there are several options for you to indulge and the highly recommended one was Maratha Samrat. We visited the outlet in Camp for lunch and I settled for a vegetarian thali, which came with - Wangi Batata Rassa - A spicy brinjal and potato curry - Sukki Bhaaji - Dry vegetable preparation - Bhakri - A flat round millet flatbread - Dal Palak - Lentil and spinach gravy - Phodniche Varan - A comforting lentil curry - Indrayani Rice - A very unique sticky rice with an interesting flavour and texture - Dahi - Curd - Kanda & Limbu - Onions and lemon - Shrikhand - A sweet sour creamy yogurt dessert Based on ayurvedic principles, the thali was a true representation of Maharashtra as there were elements from the various regions combined to give you a delicious sample of the region, in a sweet, sour, savoury, spicy and bitter platter beautifully represented. I know that Maharashtrian cuisine is known for its spicy dishes, but this Thali at its spiciest best, from the mildly subdued versions that I have experienced outside Maharashtra. I think the Sankeshwari chili from Maharashtra is in use here, which is touted as the one of the spiciest red Indian chili. I loved this wonderful spicy meal, where the bhakri brought in a balance to the spicy curries that went well with the unique sticky Indrayani rice. This is the first time I am introduced to this type of Indian rice, and loved how the texture reminded me of a millet ball, and is also extremely healthy because of its low glycemic index. I was extremely content and satisfied indulging in this meal that was fulfilling to the soul and I keep wondering at the diversity India has in its cuisine, and not just people. Highly recommend Maratha Samrat for you to experience a slice of Maharashtra in a thali.

This place came highly recommended with our maharashtrian friends all going gaa gaa over it! We ordered the mutton, fish and chicken thalis....Honestly we were all a bit underwhelmed. The punch was missing.....Dont get me wrong the food was very good and everything was super fresh...but it didn't hit the spot. There was one particular fish curry served in the thali which was outstanding!!! Was certainly expecting it to be a bit spicier....it seemed too toned down.

Lip-smacking Maharashtrian Food, from bhakri to the bringal bhaji. Typically spicy if you are not used to it, but ideally that is the USP of maharashtrian food. Veg and Non-Veg thali options. They serve Indryani rice in a mashed rice sort of a recipe and that gives a heavenly taste to it when mixed with their delicious dal or curry. Very filling Thali for medium appetite. Reasonable price despite all this. Also had Surmai Rava fry, again was super delicious, marinated with spices. Must try place in Camp. Lovely traditional decor too just something out of observation if you like a little art around.

Amazing Food, Amazing Service. We ordered Veg Thali and a sea food thali.. They were kind enough to modify their sea food thali as per my request. I was craving for prawn curry and they had pomfret curry, which they switched as per my request. The service was great, attendent was very attentive and sweet. The food was also great. Not very spicy and oily. Perfect blend of spices.

Assal marathi mutton ithe milel!! My friend visited Pune after spending 5 weeks in the US and I suggested this place for authentic maharashtra mutton thali.. she was sent on a truly gastronomical journey with the aromatic food, the traditional flavors and essence of Maharashtrian cuisine. We ordered mutton thali and kheema masala with bhakri and indrayani rice. The food was finger-licking good and satiated our food cravings.. the onion with curd is the cherry on the top!! Unlimited pandhra and tambda rassa with the thali and they allowed sharing of the thali which most places don't allow. The pandhra rassa and tambda rassa was continuously refilled even before the bowls were empty..this was continued till we said no and asked to stop serving the rassa!! Amazing food and warm hospitality.

Ambience - Decent, can dine alone as well like me. Food - The bestest taste of all, have tried many seafood hotels but with authentic thalis but this was the best mutton thali ever, could not leave a single dish from the thali. Mutton rassa was the best. Indrayani rice is a different part which sticky rice lovers will love. Service- Pampered service. Quick service as well. Must visit as it's pocket friendly and worth the price.

I am a pure nonveg and my taste is very high. My expectation was to have very spicy and different taste, but this is pure puneri taste in non veg, I tried kala mutton, chicken thali, mutton thali and biryani, but it's not spicy but regular taste, ambience is good but traditional. Service is real puneri but slow yeah the cleanliness is really good.
