I had ordered paneer biryani from this restaurent which literally turned out so good and tasty
One of the very old restaurants in Pune.Best taste, affordable prices.
Must try dishes :1. South Indian dishes2. Veg Thali (with Sweekar special Dal (Aamti)3. Shreekhand
Located near Mhatre bridge signal opposite to fire brigade station.
Very pocket friendly place. Good variety having big seating and cooperative staff. Ambience and seating is simple. If you want to cheat chat for hours without spending much it's the place for you. You can seat there for hours over couple of coffee cups.
I love the rice plate there. Especially the 'amti' it has unique tangy pungent and sweet flavour perfect mixture of chilly tarmarid and jaggery.
South and north indian options are also available but very ordinary quality. You get very good quality of poha with sambar in morning.
If you have limited budget and looking for good thali you must go to this place. 4 chapatis rice and unlimited vegetable are served in thali.
How the time flies I didn't realize. This was a hot favorite of us during early days in Pune. A decent budget place to chit-chat with colleagues over lunch. I use to prefer Puri Bhaji here....
Sweekar is one of the oldest hotel located at Nalstop. I visit this place frequently. The ambience is good with traditional wall decor. They have a separate section upstairs if you wish to have proper Punjabi Thali. The ground floor serves the other food variety. Yesterday , I went to Sweekar for Diner with my family. The food quality is good, service was quick. The staff was very polite and friendly. We ordered Paneer Angara, Onion Kulcha, Butter Nan , 1 Punjabi Thali and Fruit salad. Fruit salad was the real delite.
I had mentioned earlier about this place.
This is our favourite place for thali.
But our last visit we experience the thing which we never experienced yet.
And that was LAL BHOPLYACHI KOSHIMBHIR.
Most of the times there was Cucumber Koshimbhir or Beat Koshimbhir but LAL BHOPLYACHI KOSHIMBHIR was mouth watering........
Sweekar people you again made our day......
Thanks for being in Pune.
Sweekar thali is still famous. Had it after a long long time, taste remains same... As good as before. Its very economical, so if you are looking for something easy on pocket, go for it. Sweet dishes are good in quantity and very economical.
Me and my wife was out for a trip last Sunday and we're looking to have something for breakfast ... We came across this place accidentally ... Had masala dosa and buns (poori with banana in it)
Dosa was excellent... Not the usual stiff wafer .. it's perfect .. and d sambar (udipi style, a bit sweet) and chutni were very good.
Similarly the buns and aloo sabzi were also good...
Will surely visit again
It's a legend . If you haven't ever visited sweekar and had their thali you have done a sin. Their alu bhaaji at sundays is orgasmic . Pure legend
I visited this restro after long time in morning , food was good tried uttapam and dosa. Potato filling was quite tasty. You won’t get space at lunch time. I know it is famous for its thali.
One of the oldest Pure Vegetarian restaurant in Pune., Exclusively known for their veg delicacies around Erandwane.
Been there yesterday for a small family get-together. I have been a regular customer more than 15 years now. the taste has been changed slightly but no worries , its still good.
I personally think, these restaurants doesn't require reviews.
anyway, We directly jumped on main course:
Here are the some dishes we had ordered.
Panner kadai : excellent, one of their flagship dishes been eating from long more than 15 years.
Veg Anagara: mix veg a bit spicy preparation but worth it.
paneer chilly and gobi 65: typical Chinese starter preparation.
Thali: I didn't ordered yesterday but have eaten this earlier so writing it. one of the best thali in pune. two vegetables, chapati or Puri, curd, chatani rice and daal with salad/koshimbir.
Overall, the visit was worth.
Truly, Punekar have accepted them! ("sweekar")

Hotel sweekar Erandawane
Initially plan was to have some south Indian food...As I entered in to the hotel saw thali on many tables so tempted to try.. also heard good reviews about this thali from fellow foodies... So asked the captain what are the sabjis they are serving today all three were my favourite so ordered one thali and Baba wada newly introduced in menu
Thali contained
4 ghadi chya polya
3 sabji Batata sukki, watana, Wang rassa
Chinch gul amti
Dahi pickle papad koshimbir
Specially want to mention polya Aprtim hotya.. Garam mau just the way we make at home.. far better than many other thali restaurants..
Watana bhaji Wang rassa both were having superb taste
*****Chinch gul amti star of the evening with pipping hot rice papad dahi just delicious
****Baba wada small 6 pc batata wada with coconut Chutanny awsome taste
Unlimited sabji aamti
They serve 2 rotis at the start and after finishing they serve remaining so the roti keeps hot and soft ++ for this serving
Rs 130 for truly tasty thali super VFM

Happy Eating
Masala paw, cheese pakoda, rava dosa are my all time favorite 😍
Have seen many people have veg thali. Good for the times when u have less money and more hunger.
Have been to Sweekar on different occasions with friends, relatives, office colleagues etc.
😊 Good points:
--- amti in their veg thali tastes so good. If they have banana raita in their veg thali then you should try that & it won't disappoint you.
--- location is very central & on the main road & it acted as meeting katta for many groups with friends coming from different sides of city to meet here :)
--- surprisingly their Indian version of veg cheese pizza tastes good. Don't expect it to be like a real pizza but if you taste it, it's really good one
--- paav bhaji may not be the best one but is descent one & tastes fine
--- South Indian items such as idli, dosa are good if served hot
--- really really pocket friendly place & their service is fast too
😏 Not so good points:
--- few years back, their taste was even better than it is now. I don't know the reason but many regular visitors have seen this change
--- ambience is not that great..you feel like you are at any other hotel located near ST stand or railway station, if you go by Ambience
--- Punjabi dishes are not much impressive. I mean they are not worst but you can get better options for these dishes at walkable distance from hotel Sweekar ;-)
TLDR:
Overall a descent place if you want to try their thali or South Indian items & do not want to burden your pocket too much. Just insist to serve dosa/ uttappa hot & immediately as soon as it is done; even though your partner's order is still being prepared.
Good option for cheaper thali...you will love the puneri aamti here...you can have Puri instead of chapati and sweets need to be bought a la karte...worth a visit sometime for casual lunch
Tasted south Indian cuisine here, fantastic taste and worth every buck. Not quite expensive either.
Even snacks ere pretty decent, would definitely like to visit again.
They serve simple and yet very tasty 'chapati-rice plate'. This place is famous for their maharashtrian thali. The 1st floor is for thali section.
In thali, there are 4 chapatis, amti, 1 dry sabji, 1usal, 1gravy sabji, koshimbir(raita), rice, papad, dahi and salad. Sweets are extra but they are really tasty.
Beetroot koshimbir, amti and fruit salad were heavenly.
Price : Rs.120 (Excluding sweet)
So by reading the reviews for Thali.
I decided to try out there thali and I loved it. Ending it with a bowl of fruit salad made my lunch PERFECT!

One of Oldest restaurant in pune!😋 they serve tasty food, i almost tried all dishes from this place because i used to eat here since i was around 8 years old!🙌
But all time favourite is "Chole Bhature" and "Paneer tikka biryani" recently ate Chole Bhature and like always it was delicious! "Chole bhature and coke" is best ever!!😋😋😋 this place is perfect for family get-togethers and family treats/party. Price also good so its best place to have some delicious Indian food!😋
Well this place is for the sweet food lovers. Almost all the vegetables were sweet even the amti. I don't know why but there's was lot of hype for the thali at this place so I ordered one and then I got to know why there was so much hype. Well it turns out bcoz it was "unlimited". Never the less a good place to dine with family members.
Best thali in the locality with variety of items and option for chapati Or puri at an offordable price.
Good taste and service.
As my office is nearby, I have visited this restaurant many times and always prefered thali.
Been there many times for the thali . Simple fare tastes as good as your home food. The menu keeps changing but if you have been there many times you probably would have tasted all the varieties of bhaji/ dal they have to offer. But still it would be asatisfying meal
If you are bored of vaishali or roopali and wanna try other south indian restaurant then this is the place . They serve authentic south indian food. It's an old restaurant which got renovated some years ago. There chutney is a bit spicy yet tasty. Sambar is also nice . Dahiwada is a specialty here. Must visit for a change.
The Maharashtrian thali @sweekar is a treat for veggies. .... I have been visiting this place since long time...and to be true ..the taste and quality has not at all changed...
I love the Maharashtrian thali n its really affordable. ... the amti is mouth watering ... n curd is really fresh.... in sweet dishes the fruit salad is like a treat after having a tummy full of meal....
Its really hygienic and clean place to have yoir food..Ambience & service are admirable. ..
Must visit for thali.....
This restaurant is situated in prime locations of Pune
They serve all kinds of food... but my personal favorite is there south Indian and Thalis...good quality of food as well as good quantity... strongly recommended for Thalis and south indian...

This is a vegetarian restaurant with low budget 😊😊
Paneer and naan was good.
Don't even try tomato soup here it smelling bad!
But overall I can say just go for it!!😋🤞
They serve really good north indian food. Also, the maharashtrian thali is special here. I visited this place recently with my sister. We had tomato soup, paneer do pyaza and roti. The quality of food is good, it is also very reasonable.
When it comes to weekend and having a good food with family,i would always prefer sweekar. The place is very amazing with mesmerizing interior inside. Even the rice plate here is affordable and worth paying. I love the tawa paneer here at sweekar. Just want the service to be fast. 8/10 from me. :)
Whenever I have travelled from this route have always observed customers waiting for a table.
Hence thought of trying it out.
We ordered Mushroom Tikka Masala and few Chinese dishes, the food was awesome in taste and quality.
The fruit custard is simply awesome ... !!! Do try it
It was lazy sunday and we decided to try new place for our mushroom cravings and we ended up here. Its quite famous for its maharastran thali.but we decided to go for regular as there was waiting for thalis. we ordered mushroom tikka masala with naan and it was one of the best punjabi cusine i had ever had (as of mushroom) and for sweet their fruit custard is a must try.As of parking its not much of problem.
A nice restaurant situated at an almost prime location nearby Nal Stop. Have been here 3- 4 times. Everytime with my family. So it has been either a Lunch or a Dinner affair.
The food is good in taste. The Veggies being nicely cooked. The Rotis though need to be softer. The quantity too is sufficient enough.
The Service is quite efficient. Speaking about Ambiance, it is kinda good. The tables feel small though.
Enjoy your Food! :)
Good veg restaurant in Pune..we have taken Thali and the experience was good..taste was good and specially fruit salad.. service was also up to the mark..
One of the old restaurant in Erandawane. Going here since school days..:) This place is good for Veg lovers. Variety of dishes with good taste. Ambiance is average. The staff is co operative.
The Pav Bhaji here is heaven!! It is available after 6 p.m only. The place is well furnished and the staff is experienced.Good place for a quick and hearty meal.
Probably one of the good pure veg restaurants... And also good for your wallet. Closest to office 🏢 and Tastiest as well. Recently been here a couple of times, and wish to visit few more times.
A value for money place.. Running for many years without any change of taste..
Simple ambiance, spacious..
Known for its unlimited vegetarian thali :
1. Aluchi bhaji ( only on Sunday)- special typical Marathi cuisine made of green leafy steamed alu (colocasia/taro) with peanuts. Very very tasty ..
2. Aamti - type of dal.. Spicy tangy, with added dried coconut, a must try!
Other routine udipi items , paavbhaji are as usual.
Nice for a vfm Marathi meal..
Am a fan of their thali. Absolute value for money. Not a fussy job with 15 katoris and other paraphernalia. Tasty good food served hot and quick. It is a place that I go to frequently with friends and family.
A good and hygienic food joint. Avoid visiting over weekends due to huge waiting time. Does not accept credit card and suggest to carry cash, the upstairs area is reserved for thali system
Nice multi cuisine hotel located near padale palace. All the dishes are of good quality. Very fasy service and ambience is good. Thali is also famous.
Always went through that road but didn't notice the restaurant.
Very much crowded place. I loved the thali they offer. It is not so spicey but very good.
I liked 'Aamti' very much. It has sweet flavour. Don’t miss fruit salad. Its a must have. Chhole bhature was also good there. Overall nice place to go if you are bored to eat punjabi or chinese.
After so many years got the chance to visit this restaurant which is just round the corner. But always ignored.
I never knew this place was so big from inside. Even though it was a weekday afternoon, there was a lot of rush, which proves the quality of this place.
We ordered veg gavran masala sabji, butter rotis and Paneer crispy.
The sabji was very delicious with the right amount of spices. Not too spicy and not bland. I loved it.
The butter rotis were also nice and soft.
The Paneer crispy was rightly cooked and was differently tasty.
We also had watermelon juice and strawberry milkshake which were also good. All in all it was a nice experience and I would totally visit the place again.
One of the older places on this side of the city, sweekar is a simple value for money place to go to have a rice plate(thali) or usual south and north indian dishes alike.
There is a separate section for Thali on the first floor and it usually is very tasty. Especially the aamti (maharashtrian dal) that you get there is good.
On the groundfloor you get rest of the fast food items and all are from good to decent level. Don't expect anything extravagant here in taste or presentation or ambiance and you'll leave the place with a satisfied taste buds.
it is a lovely place. no wonder it is always crowded. you need to wait for an hour sometimes for your turn. they serve delicious snacks and breakfast. idli sambhar and tea are just great. paneer kadhai is awesome!
Good taste, average service average ambiance. I ate Punjabi need to taste thali and south Indian. I definitely going to revisit this place.
Good to go place, simple restaurant, good and clean ambience. Good simple food and good taste. Value for money hotel
My recommendation for this hotel pav bhaji and veg cheese sandwich
This is an awesome place for Maharashtrian Thali lover's. Specifically on chaturthi and Sunday it's crowded. You will have to wait for 20-30 minutes. Otherwise it's less noisy and cool place.
It serves south Indian food also which is less spicy.
Thali I love for Amati, chapati, simple cucumber salad, 2 sabji, rice & tasty curd.
Crowd is of all ages. From lonely aged couples to fun loving college buddy's.
Best time to visit is evening.
Sweekar has successfully managed to keep their taste the same for so many years, but it has also been the drawback lately. The breakfast dishes have no doubt still tasty but the northern dishes all taste the same with a very minor taste difference. Never mind but it has always been useful in desperate times. Sweekar also has been a place for high profile people to come down for a discussion. It still has that warmth. Thats what brings me back again to this place.
Been here many many times. Mostly I had thali which is a speciality. Its very good. Short and sweet. No crowd of items. It has separate section for thali. A la karte is also very much convincing. Paneer basket is amazing. Chole bhature is the signature dish. A must try resto.
Its near NAL stop , very old legendary pure vegetarian restaurant, thali is simple dissent, gives feeling of home, south Indian food is also good, Misal is also have unique taste, they add tomato in misal, service is also fast and polite, will give 4.5 for service, Ambience 3.5, Taste 4.5, pricing is also good. Overall a must visit place.
Sweekar - Very good place for filling lunch.. price increased recently. . But okay. . Been here many times.. You get chappathis or puris with the thali. There are two floors the top one for thali and the ground floor for a la carte. .
Not tried the a la carte menu anytime. .
Sweekar - Always welcome. .. my recommendation. ..
Thaali has been a speciality of Hotel Sweekar..I have been visiting Sweekar since Thali used to cost Rs.13..The taste of 'Aamati' has been identical since beginning..Due to labour problems, Thali is served only upstairs..It causes inconvenience sometimes..Thali at Sweekar is the best meal in that area..
Menu apart from Thali is also good and reasonably priced..Sizzler served at Sweekar is also surprisingly good which is not the case with most of the restaurants of this category..
Sweekar is a pure veg restaurant near Neal stop and serves everything from South Indian to punjabi to pav bhaji. It also has a section dedicated to the unlimited veg Thali lovers. Their thali has many items on it and is definitely a must try. I think their punjabi food too is good just like their South Indian. It is spacious and economical too!
Nice place to hangout with family..decent crowd..it may not have that cool ambience but a quiet and composed atmosphere is guaranteed..the taste of the food served here is great though it may proove a little heavy for your pocket..but overall it is a nice place to have a perfect dinner!

One of the place which had the best simple and delicious Maharashtrian veg thali, maintained quality for many yrs. Overall
Ambiance 4/5
Service 5/5
Food 5/5 thali only
Rates 4/6
As per others review had tried dal khichadi but it was not at all good, looked like just a mixture of dal and rice, might be it was the wrong day to try it but the person on cash counter ( I guess owner ) has assured that he will make it personally next time to assure quality dal khichakdi. Do try thali they will not disappoint u.
Must go place in Pune...awesome Punjabi, south indian food and ofcoruse thali....it has a delicious dishes like hydrabadi biryani, paneer angara etc..service is excellent food taste is very very good
This is a very good restaurant. I have been going here since many years but the taste hasn't changed. They offer very nice Punjabi food. The rice plate is also very nice and a value for money meal!
The staff is also welcoming and polite. And yeah the south Indian food is also good....
Keep it up!
No valet so you have to park in the side roads which is moderately tough. Clean place with atmosphere. You feel like you coming into a well worn place. The thali is their gem. 110 bucks only and very delicious Maharashtrian food. Slightly oily but nice. Must go and really good waiters.
I don't remember how many times I have eaten at Sweekar when i used to live nearby. I love this simple indian restaurant. Gone there lots of times to have lunch, chai and dinner. Whatever they served, i always liked. This place tends to get crowded at dinner time especially on weekends but always worth a visit. I would highly recommend to any veggie lover.
A nice place for vegans. Complete VFM. Try the classic maharashtrian thali.
The place is pretty neat and clean and the service is quick.
Location is convenient too.
Good on taste and quality; it's in the heart of the city; you always get seat without waiting and is easy on pocket too!
I visit here quite often.
I've been eating here since last 10 years or so.. Same taste same quantity!
Dosas are really good. Pav bhaji is fair enough to reach standards. Try Punjabi dishes here on your own risk. Sometimes they are nice sometimes they are not. Its well known for thali. They don't have vallet parking so better be on bikes as there's no guarantee to get space for car. Staff here is quick enough to fulfill your orders. Never had a problem of slow service here. Thali exceptionally good. Unlimited in 100 INR is good. They even parcel the thali with 10 Rs extra for the dabbas they give. They have special veggies for different days. Their "amti" is just too good. Definitely try the thali here.
