The food if spring onion is really good , good flavours , good textures , the chefs out there pretty kniw their food at the core . Thanks a lot to chef bahadur . You have won my ❤️. Incredible , amazing food . I will definetely come back the second time . The same kind of taste I had found out at Pan Asian (ITC). Good job keep up the spirit and good work .
One of the best Chinese outlets in Pune. The quality and tasty of food they serve is awesome. I order noodles for my main course and I was surprise to see so thin noodles, perfect noddles they were. All flavours were combined so well together. The crispy corn on other side have been my favourite stater where ever I go,the corns were perfectly balanced with spices nor to soft neither too crispy.
We had a great time with my friends, great food and amazing ambiance . Especially I loved Chinese starters really it was amazing . Thanks captain for your excellent service. See u next time , thanks team spring onion.
Went to spring onion for dinner with my friend. One I the best authentic Chinese food restaurant. Thai green curry was excellent. Veg Hakka Noodle was also good. Staff is also courteous. Okay
The food is good out here. We had panner starter and the sizzler.. both ver good. We had fried noodles with ice cream thts was yummy..
Sweet ambience.. and great food. Awesome when you want a satisfying lunch on a boring weekday 😉
Very simple and basic seating arrangements yet pleasant ambience.
The tables and seating arrangements is slightly congested due to lack to additional space, but those factors can be sidelined once you get your food on the table.
We ordered their chef recommended servings: Chicken Tai Pai Dry and Peri Peri Dry for appetizers and their speciality Pan Fried Noodles - Cantonese style.
The tangy and sweet sauce for Chicken Tai Pai ~ similar to the BBQ sauce was amazing for taste buds while the Peri Peri chicken was mild spicy and great taste.
The Cantonese style pan fried noodles was a bowl of heaven as fried noodles was too good to be crispy, along with oyster sauce, soy sauce loaded with vegetables.
Only drawback was a 2-3 slices of chicken in the main course.
Nevertheless an amazing time spent in the restaurant and will be back again.
Cozy place and courteous staff. Nice ambiance.
We ordered chicken pop, prawn triple rice and Pan fried noodles cantonese style.
Do order their signature dish- Pan fried noodles cantonese style (Noodles along with veggies like carrot, baby corn, etc)

If not, the best chinese restaurant.
Tom-kha soup is a must try💯. Fried rice and pot rice are also good. Hakka noodles and Malaysian pad Thai are also worth trying.
The food was good. The staff was well trained and service was good. We took manchurian and tripple schezwan noodles... It was delicious.....
Thai food is so amazing here. Loved each dish here. Pad Thai is a must try. Do visit this place and have green Thai curry. Loved the cutlery and the beautiful ambience ♥️
It's a small place but packs a lot of heart. The food, service and ambience are all amazing.
We ordered Veg Malaysian Soup, Veg Pot Rice and Veg Pan Fried Noodles.
The Pot rice has some scope of improvement in consistency of the gravy but still an amazing dish and worth a try.
Besides this, the Malaysian Soup was a great delight; warm, thick and spicy with finely chopped veggies.
Pan Fried Noodles were absolutely heavenly; their noodles are light and cooked to perfection and we asked them to make the gravy a little more spicy to suit our taste buds and that worked so well. The vegetables they provide in their dishes are also fresh and abundant in variety, making you both healthy and happy.
I have to mention the decor because it was so impressive, a very beautifully implemented colour scheme with subtle decor and great lighting keeps moods pleasant and goes so well with their menu and staff's behavior both.
Their staff was equally wonderful and helpful with their recommendations and how they make their customers feel.
Such a great spot for comfort food during monsoon and winters. Can't wait to go back to Pune simply so I can pay them a visit again.
This is one hell of a place to eat authentic Chinese food. Their chicken lollipop is what I always crave for. Besides, their Choupseuy, garlic butter prawns and thai curries are also awesome. A must try place. Small but comforting.
Went here last week , had the best chinese food in recent times even prawns were well cooked and noodles were tasty though place is small with limited seats but service is quick must try for all chinese lovers
Had paneer chilli and Fried rice here...was amazing..great cozy ambience and service was good ..the paneer was yummy and soft and rice were perfectly cooked.great experience❤
frequent visitor to this place.. but reviewing lately.. I try to visit this place at least once a month.. being Chinese food lover, I crave for dumplings and noodles most of the time... A big fan of their pan fried momos with cilantro sauce.. tried chicken sizzler this time..
Great food, courteous staff, good ambience n music..
Spring Onion located on Bhandarkar Road is a nice little joint which servers fantastic Asian cuisine. The food is towards the authentic side and not Indianised by adding too many spices unnecessarily! However, this outlet is really small. We had to wait for close to half an hour on a weekday evening to get a table for two! Service was good and the staff was polite. The food was reasonably priced.
Small and cozy place. Good staff, very courteous and attentive. Great variety in the menu and the food is also good. Would recommend everyone to visit this place.
This is go to place for Asian food for me and my husband, we love the food here and service is perfect-totally value for money
Veg Chopper rice is must try in mains
good authentic Chinese cuisine..... each dish can be easily served for 2 person........ very pocket friendly......staff is responsive......but space is small and 7 tables are crammed into it........they also allow take away....... good for dates and family
Cozy place for some good Chinese food. Really like their water, no kidding they add these mint leaves inside the bottles tastes really nice.
Quite a chic place to have Thai continental food. Great Indian twist on flavours with a tinge of other Thai flavours. Great zing for the taste buds.
All thai lovers may keep this as a high option.
However, the balance of flavours may be improved, the rest works well😊.
This place was on my list for last 1 year and I finally happen to try it. Authentic Chinese food with loads of flavors and good quantity. It's a beautiful small place ( so portraits come really well) and cozy and just perfect for a nice meal . Must try.
We have been to this restaurant couple of times. It’s a small Chinese restaurant situated on Bhandarkar Road.
They have tried to make maximum use of space available. Still place is so cramped; don’t expect to have any conversation here without unintentionally hearing gossip from your next table.
We managed to get table immediately as we reached there early by 7 pm.
We ordered:
1. Malaysian Pops: Must try dish. It’s like their version of Chicken Masala Lollipop but tasted way better. Sauce was on spicy side but very tasty. Even after tossing chicken in sauce, cover of the pieces was crispy. We loved this.
2. Triple Sichuan Noodles: Combination of rice, boiled noodles and fried noodles along with spicy Sichuan Sauce was up to the expectations. We told waiter that we don’t want egg in noodles and he obliged.
Staff was attentive and service was also fast.
It is a suggestion to management to expand the restaurant as other than seating arrangement, dining experience was really good.
Never disappoint if you are craving some authentic chinese .. and that too MSG FREE... NO AJINOMOTO... isnt it cool.. it is a small cozy restaurant .. with a quick service and polite staff..
personal favourites— corriander pot noodles , chicken red thai curry.
Polite staff and great food. Only thing that bothers is a place that’s so small that after waiting for at least half n hour we feel like hurrying as many people outside are waiting for the tables.(well that’s mostly on weekends- weekdays afternoons are easy). Value for money food though. Worth the wait.
Even though the place is a bit cramped but the food quality and variety is awesome. Had dinner on a busy evening but some items on the menu were unavailable which was quite unexpected .
Peri peri chicken and Malaysian pops are the must haves. These were spicy savoury and the perfect for starters.
Good quality food. Chinese lover's must try. Though small restaurant, good ambience. We tried dumpling soup, spring roll and chowmein all were good in test and quantity.

Its a small and cozy place situated on Bhandarkar road. A quick place to grab on some really nice food.
Really good chinese with a lot of variety.
Just space constraint, rest its amazing.
The place is bit congusted but the taste is just awesome..The prices are fair and the food is too good..Awesome place for continental food in pune..would definitely love to visit again..
It's a great place for a quick fix of Street style Chinese, whether that's how they intended it, I'm not sure. We had starters for mains along with soup and dumplings and it was a satisfying meal. This is a quaint small place so don't go expecting space for big groups. Parking also probably is an issue here since it's on the main road. Though we found parking in the lane out back.
The service is fast and the waiters friendly. My friend who took us there seemed to be a regular so I guess that's a big positive !
The place is small but very welcoming....the food is great....I ordered hot and sour it was spicy and good....Malaysian chops are the best....it's like one can have it anytime.... chicken manchurian gravy was good and coriander rice was fine....overall amazing meal and awesome place!....
Great food, lovely ambience.. just what u need for a perfect date... One of the best chicken lollipops ever.. awesome chinese cuisine.. definitely try it out♥️
Starting with the food itself ....it is so tasty and you never have it too much we tried lamb and it was super tender and cooked beautifully ..the fresh lime soda was great as well ...now talking about the service ..it was very quick and the staff knew what they were dealing with and serving ..it is a must try for all the people in Pune ..
A different place to enjoy noodles with friends or family. Must try “mustard paper noddles” with basil paneer sauce. Cozy place with vintage look.
It's a great place to visit. Food is bit on the higher side, but worth the taste. Chicken Lemon Coriander Soup is a must try. Amazing options. #TheFoodieTraveler
I recently visited this little place with a group of friends for lunch.
We ordered crispy veg which was really nice and Malaysian flat noodles which was tasty!
It's a good place to try authentic oriental cuisine.
The gist: All too frequently, neighborhood restaurants risk becoming generic, offering lengthy menus intended to be all things to all diners. This grown-up-friendly cozy restaurant in Deccan focusing on shareable plates for people expects elevated Chinese cuisine updating the dishes with local ingredients and contemporary presentations. I had Tom Kha Soup followed with Peri Peri Chicken appetizer and Chicken Pot rice. Full Marks to the service!
Very delicious food! Highly recommended to friends and family! And specially Chinese lovers.
I tried vegetarian momos and burnt coriander noodles. Perfectly cooked!
Everything we ate was very delicious. What was even more impressive then that was the service. They were so attentive and anticipated what we needed before we did. They have a great buy 1 get 1 soup special also. We will definitely go again.
The size of a restaurant has no implication on the quality of food it serves. Spring Onion is a postage stamp size eatery in the Deccan Gymkhana locality. Its size is its only drawback. On a Sunday evening I had to wait 30+ minutes for a table. The first plus point, despite there being other larger groups waiting the owner gave me, a single diner a table for four. I have had experiences where restaurants are very reluctant to give table to a single diners at peak hours. When I apologised for blocking a table for four I was reassured that I too was an honoured customer and was told to take my time. I wasn’t rushed through my dinner either. A BIG +!
The ambiance is clean bright and roomy despite such a small place. Brightly lit adding to the ambiance.
I ordered a Spicy Seafood Soup. It was a steaming bowl of a semiretired thick broth loaded with vegetables as per its description in the menus and an equal amount of very fresh perfectly cooked seafood shrimp, fish, crab and squid. One of the rare occasions when I did not ask for the Chinese sauces trio, chilli vinegar, Soy and chilli sauce. The soup was delicious and hearty and it came to the table piping hot. My main course was Prawns in Chilli Mustard Sauce, it was a Kolkata inspired sauce made with Kasundi, the iconic mustard sauce of Bangla cuisine spiked with Chilli. The Prawns were fresh and perfectly cooked and the sauce was Shorshey at its evil best. The first mouthful caused a tingling sensation in the nose, the way it should. I would go again and again for fish or prawns in this sauce. Actually they should bottle and sell this signature sauce. I would have liked it a notch Spicy. My suggestion is they should allow diners to choose the degree of spicy ness while ordering from 1 to 5 degrees I would love that kind of customisation. I ordered a Mixed NonVeg Fried Rice. It was the perfect companion to the Mustardy Prawns and here too there was no cheating with the quantity and proportion of the mixed chicken fish and prawns. Every thing came to the table steaming hot and all food tasted freshly cooked. No frozen portion zapped in a microwave and served. One could hear the woks zinging and rattling in the kitchen as ordered were prepared.
A review should have something critical so here I go. For its tiny size Spring Onion should take off the sizzling browny dessert one of the tables ordered it and when it was served the whole restaurant was filled with smoke it wasn’t a pleasant experiance. Although they opened the door to let the smoke dissipate. One serving caused a few minutes of discomfort of three or four had been served together would cause smoke asphyxiation. There are many delicious desserts to serve. Take the sizzling browny desert off. Please.
But a definitely highly recommended eatery. Five Stars for ambiance, menu choice, very courteous and helpful service, delicious freshly cooked food, 5STARS definitely.
It's a small cozy place i really loved the ambience. Sometimes it's hard to get seats. the food quality is quite good but inconsistent. We had sizzlers and.momos. the order takes time.
Excellent quality food for Oriental cuisine! Loved it. The dining place is small but excellent service from the waiter makes up for it. The vegetarian menu is very interesting.
Yum Yum Yum... The best Chinese place in Pune. I ordered Prawns chilli Basil and wild pepper chicken and both were just perfect. Spring Onion - Food for soul.... 😋😋😋😋😋😋

I am not much of a chinese and oriental food fan.. but this is the best Chinese food i have had so far... being a vegetarian the only safe Chinese options for me become fried rice or hakka noodles or Manchurian... but at spring onion, they have a huge variety of veggies in different kinds of gravies and also a wide array of rice varieties... their Thai curry both red and green is also lipsmacking... its a small place to dine in so most times we order home delivery and the food gets delivered without hassles... few times we faced an issue when we ordered thru swiggy... but when u directly place order with the restaurant it always accurate... overall excellent taste and variety of menu...
Today was a blessed day as I visited this cozy little place " Spring Onion" located at Bhandarkar road. The service was warm and efficient.
We ordered a Peri Peri dry chicken, stir fried chicken Momo's in herb bean chilli sauce and Indonesian rendang curry with rice.
The food was delicious, fresh, piping hot and served with lots of love.I instantly fell in love with this place 💖💖💖.I have bookmarked this restaurant in my fav list!
If you love Asian cuisine or wish to explore it , you must visit Spring onion!😍😍😍
Good food for a budget meal .
Worth a visit . Also try the Thai curry it's good .
I had a take away which was nicely packed and the food was tasty !!
Me and my friends are a regular visitor at Bhandarkar road outlet for last one year
And every time its worth!!!
No compromise in quality
Personal favourite: Burnt garlic noodles and gravy in black pepper sauce
I ordered the Mustard Pepper Noddles and Peppery Lemon Chili Sauce Fish Main course dish. The noddles were amazing-they were flavored very well and the portion was adequate.Main course dish was also good with good portion of fish.I suggest the chili flavor to be tweaked so that the lemon zest is not lost which seemed the case for me !!!The service was very good.
Heaven for dimsum lovers, veg as well as non veg! We actually returned the next day for more. The green, spring onion dip served with the dimsums was mouth-watering. The iceberg lettuce soup was refreshing and delicate complete with transparent strings of rice noodles. Burnt garlic rice and a chicken gravy chosen for us by our attendant was also light and very filling. Each portion is sufficient for not two but three people. Great ambience and efficient staff.
This is a quaint little place with nice interiors.
You can always find full tables here.
We ordered their day special - smoked chilli chicken for staters and veg phad thai as main course with Fanta.
The smoked chicken had loads of crushed pepper and amazing smoky flavour. Spicy but tasty.
Veg phad thai came in a humungous quantity . I took the first bite and fell in love with this dish. Super creamy cause of the thick coconut cream and very delicious.
The quantity is great.
Pricing is good.
The place was packed so our order took quite some time but the food is worth the wait.
Overall a very good experience.. a must visit from my side.. :) :)
The first thing you’ll notice about Spring Onion is that you don’t notice it right away. It’s squeezed in between a bunch of shops and is set up in a relatively small - but not congested - area with limited seating.
The location notwithstanding, this is definitely a place worth trying out particularly given their motto that they don’t add ajinomoto to their preparations! They serve a mix of Chinese, Thai and Asian cuisine that is adapted, of course, to Indian tastes.
Despite the variety of dishes, we usually stick to the basics which include Kung Pao (excellent), Chicken Chilli (can’t go wrong), Tai Pai (for the ‘heat’) and Butter Garlic Prawns (again excellent). The Peri Peri dry is also highly recommended. They have vegetarian options with similar sauces and flavours.
For the mains, choose a type of sauce and either noodles or rice (or both if you’re a group). Our standard order includes Burnt Garlic Rice (must try!), Sichuan rice (standard), Coriander rice (excellent) among the rice options and Burnt Coriander noodles (F.L.A.V.O.U.R) and Hakka noodles among the noodle options.
For sauces, if spice is your thing blindly go for the Peri Peri chicken or Hot Garlic sauce. You can also try the Lemon Chilli sauce as a milder option. Vegetarians can go for the Garlic Coriander sauce.
All in all, a neat place that is worth your time and money. It’s usually an excellent impromptu-dinner/lunch option if you’re in the area.
Will i visit again? Absolutely.
Wonderful restaurant to try Thai Green Curry & Rice, other items on the menu are good but the Thai curry is one of the best you get in city. However its a bit small place with only 7-8 tables get congested during Lunch & Dinner time. Service is good and fast.
It is a good place ,although it is small for sittings but its ok , the food is really good ,they use original sauces hence we can get the authentic taste of cuisines .
Nice Chinese and oriental place! You guys should definitely expand since the place is small!
The food has a nice taste and staff was welcoming!
Small sit out, preferably visit on a weekday to avoid the crowd. The food is yummilicious and the service is quick and great. My recommendation: Tai Pai Chicken, Burnt Garlic Rice, Chicken in Hakka Sauce, Garlic Coriander Rice Pot. The vegetarian food is as good. Do recheck with the staff about which dishes are coconut based because some have an exorbitant amount of coconut, which may not be liked by all.
I had order Spring onion special soup which was very unique in taste and delicious..Along with it had a fortune rice it was good too..After a long time there was a change in taste so loved this restaurant.
Cozy place to have lunch/dinner. The ambiance is good so is the food. The staff is really kind. Location of the place is just PERFECT. Both veg and non-veg was tasty. We had Tom yum soup, burnt garlic rice, chilli paneer in the veg and Chicken Chilli in the non veg. They were really delicious. Burnt Garlic Rice is worth a try. Would love to go again.
Tasty Desi Chinese! Wide variety of chinese food. Staff is well aware of the menu and they suggest good options. Small place for sitting area.
A very good place to try Chinese and thai cuisine.
The fineness of noodles make all the difference here.
Quantity is less compared to prices.
Parking can be an issue.
Waiting time is much more on weekends
Cozy and quaint little place on Bhandarkar Road serving mainly Asian food. The vibe of this place is amazing. They have light music going which adds to the boho vibe. It feels very zen to be here.
The menu is great, having items from all parts of Asia like China, Japan, Korea, etc. The service is quite slow, especially considering the small size of the place.
However, the food is worth the wait! It is lip smacking and has the best authentic flavours of the region. It feels like you are actually somewhere where they eat those foods as a staple. It is rather spicy yet amazing!
We had the dumpling soup, spring roll and Chicken Chilli Dry, which was the highlight. The chicken was so fresh and the sauce was tantalizing.
For dessert, we had Honey Noodles with Ice Cream. It was a phenomenal dessert. The noodles were sweet and crispy and were complemented perfectly by the pillowy soft vanilla ice cream. The hot chocolate rolls were great too. They also serve these mints at the end for an added bonus :)
Overall, an amazing place for a meal at a reasonable price. Would definitely recommend!
Cozy place, Nice ambience , Tasty Food.
Recommended by friend from Goa.
We have plenty options for Veg and Nonveg.
Staff gives u a details for the dish u gonna order.
Portions are enought for 2 people.
We ordered Tom Yum soup (veg) i found it authentic rather than other restaurant i have visited in Pune.
Also tried Veg burnt garlic noodles, Manchurian dry and Herbs chilly bean chicken. Not much oily or extra sauces loved the veggies used in all the dishes Finaly chopped. You should surely try food in here.
And they do serve Buffet options only starting with 499rs .
One of my Favourite Place ! Great taste great ambiance.. Food is really very tasty and you also get variety of options
Their chicken dim sums and Manchow soup are must try.
This is my extremely favourite place! A cosy little place with a great food… that’s all I want! I go here literally n no of times. I love their soups… Tom Yum, Tom Kha & Manchow are my personal favourites. If you are a person with not so heavy appetite, a bowl of Manchow soup can be your meal too! They have a wonderful menu & most of it is superb!!! They make one of the best Thai Curry in town! No Ajinomoto is their Moto which I personally appreciate a lot! Starter Quantity is little too much for two 🙊My only complaint about this place is they almost never have good desserts on their menu. Else, there’s no reason I would give only 4 stars to them! 🙂
It's a great place to hang out with friends. The ambience is soothing and specially the service by Mr. Satbir was great. Also, the food was delicious 😋
Great place for takeaways! I had been here almost 3-4 years back and the quality hasn't changed a bit. The fried rice is still my favourite takeaway. Their meats are always fresh and tender and so are the sea catch.
They have launched Spring Pizza, an off shoot of SO, that specialises in hand pressed fresh dough pizzas made with homemade Oriental sauces and believe me... They are worth the trouble!
An 11" is ridiculously priced at ₹699 but loaded with toppings!
The Oriental cuisine was and continues to remain a delight and I only regret they are located so far away from my place of residence.
The place may look small but , but packs a bang in terms of flavour , food is one of the best oriental flavour in Pune , extremely friendly staff a must try their signature soup and nariman point noodles.
Even though the place is tiny, it is very well maintained. The taste is truly amazing. They do not use typical things for cooking. They make their own sauces. Presentation is god as well. Menu has amazing combinations. It's bit pricy but totally worth it. Go for it. Totally recommended.
A small restaurant opposite PYC, great for authentic oriental cuisine. Me and my family love Asian food hence have been visiting this place for atleast 6 years now! The service is superb and quick. Portions are of good quantity with great flavours! They have a varied menu for vegetarians, eggetarians and non vegetarians. I have lost count of the dishes we have had here and the food was great 90% of the time. The one star that I have deducted is for the same that they lack consistency. Considering I have visited this place more than I can count, couple of times it has disappointed me. Please do try their dumplings, paneer oriental orange starter, burnt garlic/coriander/chilli rice and noodles. Thai curry and basil rice is also great! Ask for their special soup in a red base as it tastes a lot better than the green base they usually provide.
The food is very tasty and well served in this popular joint on Bhandarkar road. Though there is a space constraint , atmosphere is well kept. Something should be done to avoid spreading smell of cooking food which either increase your appetite or gives you bad feeling.
Our motto:- No aji nomoto !! And they do keep their words. Food taste was great and service is quite good. They should open a cozy restaurant as the Bhandarkar road one is little tight . Overall ambience is good and servers and captains are very obedient and good. They know there food and can explain everything well. You can never go wrong on food if you speak to them in detail about your taste buds and likes.
Some places don't need an introduction. This one definitely falls under that category. Since years it has been successfully filling up the void of a good Oriental cuisine serving restaurants in this area. The setup is neat and clean with hygiene measures upto the mark.
What we tried
*Spring Onion Special Soup (Chicken)
This flavoursome soup is perfect for a chilly winter eve. Generous amount of shredded chicken with a combination of spring onion flavour makes it outstanding. The consistency was pretty thick which also makes it quite filling.
*Basil Chilly Chicken
Succulent boneless chicken pieces cooked in basil and chilly sauce. With a lovely olive greenish color it was super soft and heavenly. The basil taste was evident in every bite yet was not overpowering the other flavours.
*Ming Rice (Egg), a humble yet spicy rice made in their Asian sauce was simply delicious. Loved it! The non spicy gravy we ordered with it went really well with it, it balanced the spice level for the rice. (don't remember the name of the gravy)
PS : Their in-house sauces are to die for.. Just outstanding.. They are planning to bottle them up and sell on retail basis.. Early waiting for the same..
#HighlyRecommended
Amazing food. Top service. Ambience is really good. Food tastes fresh and contains various spices. If you are tiered of typical Desi restaurants and want to try something in almost the same budget, do give this place a try.
Small but cozy restaurant area. Food taste is good. In vegetrian dishes good quality and variety vegetables are used. Staff is friendly and soft spoken. Needs to park vehicles on road. Overall good experience.
Awesome food as always.
Now they are more big and more fantastic.
We had asked the chef to make some new dish in rice and he made sometime awesome.
Thanks to team Spring Onions for making our Lunch a memory.
