Mysore masala dosa is very tasty here.
We order frequently from malgudi statuons.
As a renowned restaurant, they maintain their prestige..
Worth to visit and worth for money
Amazing soul filling food.
This place is situated at very good location. As name suggest they are more in South Indian dishes, I have been here 4-5 times and had and overall good experience. Most of there dishes are good ,just Rava dosa felt little oily.
I have also tried there Punjabi Thali which is also good and fulfilling.
They also have big party area at back side.
An authentic South Indian breakfast joint for Punekars. Thatte Idli was so soft and delicious! Chutney was the hero and sambhar was just perfect. Mysore Masala Dosa didn't work for me as it was bit salty. Mangalore Bun was just amazing.
The only complain I have is the amount of oil I could see in every dish.
Great place for a weekend tasty breakfast!!
Lively ambience, courteous staff and really tasty South Indian food. Yet to try the North Indian dishes but South Indian dishes are so good, it's difficult to on every visit. The malgudi theme based interiors and balanced illumination gives a very fresh and relaxed feel.
Try Neer dosa, Idli, Davangiri dosa, Rava dosa, Cheese dosa and filter coffee.

I have stayed very close to this place. Always attracted by the name, finally happened to visit it before leaving pune. The bitter it was to leave the city the sweeter experience I had here. Amazing food.
Loved thatte idly. Very light and fluffy. Had that slight undertone of sour and slight sweetness. Slight butter on top and podi powder. Trust me, these are going to melt in your mouth.
Devangere Benne Dosa. Never tried a dosa live this ever.... golden and crispy from outside, slongy on the inside. You might have never tasted anything like this ever. Again this is served with sambar, aloo masala and 2 chutneys. And topped with their jnhouse butter.
Oh did I mention their butter is magical? Did I?
Well now I have....
I am sure you are going to repeat your order like I did. And come out of this place holding your tummies coz you acted out of greed... Surely will not repent....
There is a scope for improvement in soups, they could be made better.....
Good Ambience, Good Taste, just it is expensive.. But definitely good for a fine dine karnataka experience
Nice decent place
Weekends are good
Would visit again
Mysore bonda was sweet....which we really didn't like it. It was not as what we get in South India.... otherwise Dosa was good ..staff is good
This place is nice for Dosa and idli. The sambhar and chutney which they serve is really nice. I had tried kerala paratha too and was disappointed as the paratha were too dry.
Good place to eat and spend time with family. The food taste is good and there is variety, South Indian cuisine is great. Staff is friendly
A gem of a place, great food and service !
Good food and pocket friendly. Must try the special idlis
Absolutely great place. Original taste. I would recommend to try all the chef specialities. Really great food.
We had Malgudi Idli, 3 Combo Rice and Rasam Wada. All the 3 were authentic. This is my goto place for Bisibele Bath and Idli Sambhar.
Visited this place 3-4 times and I never miss ordering the Malgudi special idli. It is so soft, spongy and delicious. It just melts in mouth. The Kerala paratha is too amazing.
The staff is very friendly and quick service. Tried daal Palak too once that was good too.
Overall a decent place to visit if you really craving for some delicious authentic south India cuisine.
Thatte idli, malgudi idli, kesari bhat n coffee are must try...Idlis melt in the mounth...very nice staff n service.
Very good service , staff is very friendly
Food and atmosphere is too gud
It was really good in taste and service. I was in South when I eat that tasty food. Thank you for serving your best food.
I had ordered a parcel from this restaurant. Paneer angara tikka was best in taste. Malgudi idli is so tasty and soft that you will not eat just one. Sambar taste is authentic. And Rava dosa👍
Also food packaging and quantity was best and perfect. Overall I guarantee that no one will go just once tobthis place. You ought to visit again.

A South Indian restaurant with some special stuff like Thatte Idli, combo dosas etc. One must try their filter coffee which is a delight. They have indoor and outdoor seating arrangements and ample parting with a security guard. Rates are reasonable and service is quick.

Was here a week before to have breakfast , the place is huge and has indoor and outdoor seating . The staff is courteous. Well I tried their
Thatte Idli - it was my first time trying this and it was so good , it is equivalent to the size of 2 - 3 idli served with sambar and chutney . You should definitely try this
Mini Idli - It was so virtually satisfying, little mini idli with sambar and chutney .. how can idli sambar go wrong ?
Davangere Benne Dosa - Benne dosa means butter dosa , its origin is from the city of Davangere which is in karnataka and so the name .. well yes it was delicious and with generous amount of butter in it ..
Filtered coffee - The second place where I loved the filter coffee . It was virtually very appealing the layers of the coffee was a delight to watch .. well the coffee was tasty too ..
Should you visit this place - Definitely a yes
The food is really good specially the paneer tikka masala and paneer handi.
This is a very simple restaurant and amazing for breakfast. You must definitely try it once.
Had been here for breakfast with a few colleagues. Following things we had:
Thatte Idli : a huge disc of an idli, topped with gunpowder, and served with a tasty sambhar and delicious chutney. The idli was quite soft and fluffy, and didnt feel at all heavy on the stomach.
Malgudi idli : Same as above, very soft and fluffy idlis.
Mangalore Bhajji : a sweet fried dumpling, served with sambar and chutney. A first for me!
Keri Vada : A fried vada made of urad batter and dill leaves. Quite tasty.
Rasam Vada : Rasam was quite spicy and pungent, good job there, but with vada it didnt feel right!
Malabar Parotta with Chana Sabji : Flaky, layered parrota served with a chickpea curry. The curry was very mild, and had tones of coconut milk to it.
Paniyaram : Small pan fried dumplings, quite spicy and tasty.
Adei Dosa : A dosa made of several grains, and loaded with masalas, It however, didn't strike the right tone.
Dal wada : Fried and crispy classic.
Mysore masala dosa : A superb item, will be definitely ordering it again. Very crisp with a tasty chutney and even tastier potato sabji.
Sheera and upma : Sheera i felt too sweet for my taste, Upma was perfect.
Idiyappam : Steamed rice noodles served with sweetened coconut milk. Good for those with sweet tooth.
Tea : Made with a special powder blend containing cocoa, tea dust and bournvita. Quite unique.
Filter coffee : made with the finest beans from Chickmagaluru, This was one of the best I've Had.
Final Thoughts : An excellent place to go for a south indian meal. All items served are unique and authentic.

Mangalore Bajji
It had an slightly sweet hint. It was light and fluffy. Nice option to try. #Recommended.
Masala Wada / Dal Wada
Wada prepared with multi grains with a hint of green chilly was superb in taste. It was super crispy on the outside and was truly flavourful. #Musthave.
Idiyappam: Rice noodles served along with coconut milk and chole sabji was excellent in taste. The noodles were soft and moist and went well along with the mildy spiced chole sabji #Recommended
Keri Wada
A huge bhaji prepared with Shepu (Dilli Leaves) was impressive. It had ajwain and green chillies in it and was excellent in taste. Perfect to have in this rainy season #Highlyrecommended.
Adei Butter Dosa
Thin pan cakes prepared using multi grains and rice flour topped with butter, it was very mild on flavours. I felt a bit more seasoning would definitely enhance its taste.
Rasam Wada
The Wada was nicely done however the rasam was tangy and too salty. They serve 4-5 different types of rasam which is prepared randomly every week. Feedback was shared with the management. I will definitely try this dish next time.
Kara Paniyaram a.k. Appe

I never imagined Pune to serve such amazing South Indian and Pav bhaji
But they beat Mumbai , hands down
Mumbai has lost the old style pay bhaji and they have stuck to the authentic taste.
The South Indian cuisine is so amazing
We had
Thatte Idli ( must try )
Masala dosa
Dal vada
Pav bhaji

Malgudi Station / मालगुडी स्टेशन
#SouthIndian #MorethenIdliDosa
Malgudi Station is South Indian speciality restaurant in Baner serving regional dishes from Karnataka, Kerala and TamilNadu.
If you want to try something different then regular : dosa/uttappa/idli you should definitely visit Malgudi Station.
They serve very unique items in terms of the flavour like : Thatte/Malgudi Idli, Healthy Adei Dosa, Kera Wada, South Indian Chole,.... (Do checkout all pics for details).
Recently visited them for breakfast and here is what we tried :
- Malgudi idli : सुपर से ऊपर Soft Idli : made from rice and special seeds (they didnt mentioned name) from tamilnadu which make they so soft ,super fluffy and melt in mouth #MustTry
- Kera Wada : delicious wada made in strong and aromatic flavours of Dilli leaves (सुवा भाजी/ शेपू ) #GoodOption to try.
- Idiyappam (Rice noodle) served South-Indian Chole and coconut milk. What I liked most in this were : chole made in byadgi mirchi and coconut #Exceptional. If you are chole fan like me you should definitely try them.
- Deep fried Goli Bajji ( also know as Mangalore Bajji ) made from fermented rice flour + coconut. Very addictive and for sure win your heart.
- Thatte Idli : soft , fluffy, fresh, piping hot big (as plate ) idli : made from Rice, Urad dal and Sabudana served with coconut and tomato chutney.
- Layered flaky "Kerala Parotha" served with same amazing chole and chutney. If you dont like Idiyappam this is good option to try their killer chole.
- Bangalore style Rasam served with medu vada. Rasam didnt impress me much bcoz of sour taste but was appreciated by others. On my feedback they mention that they make 3-4 diffeent types of rasam Kerala/Tamil/Karnataka. One served to us was more on tangy/sour side.
- Healthier Adei Dosa : High protein dosa made from lentils and rice. It looked so good but didn't appeal me much :-(. Health food is always not so tasty.
- Mangalorean Buns : Soft fluffy poori made with mixture of banana served with chutney which does the magic.
This was followed by crispy and soft from inside Kara paniyaram (आप्पे) , deep fried crispy Masala Wada /Dal wada, Upma, shira and Paper thin + crisp Mysore dosa.
We ended our breakfast (actually brunch ) with strong Filter coffee.
Overall : Malgudi Station is heaven for south Indian food lovers. Do give it try : you won’t regret it at all..!!!
Authentic restaurant to fulfill your south indian food cravings. We tried
Paniyaparam- this was great. Maharashtrian call it appe. The coconut chutney competed the dish. Must try.
Neer dosa- delicate 3 piece dosa set served with mix sabji and coconut chutney. Loved the dosa. However the dosa is so thin that it partially filled my appetite.
Mangalore bun- this is wheat, banana flour which makes the bun. Fried dish served with chutney and sabji. The bun is mildly sweet for the banana added in the dough.
Sada dosa-cone shaped plain dosa served with sambar and chutney
Filter coffe- didn't really like the coffe here. Would have preferred strong coffee.
Very tasty food ..amazing venue with lots of variety..must try malgudi idli and neer dosa .
Very friendly and amazing taste...must visit place at baner
Brilliant food! I am a maharashtrian but found love for south indian food after visiting this place. Ordered malgudi idli, neer dosa, kerala porotta and manglorian bun. Loved every bit of it. Mr. Sunil was a great host. Do visit!
Ambiance: 3.5/5
Food: 4/5
Service: 4/5
Overall: 4/5
Cost: ₹₹ (Moderate, Budget with Gold)
A pretty standard restaurant like ambiance, this is a decent budget place which offers satisfactory south Indian food! Good food, good service, no complaints!
We visited Malgudi station for our craving for South Indian and to try a new joint. We were surprised to see the amount of seating they had and was running full on a Monday night.
We asked the waiter to suggest us some idli and a dosa. So we ordered Thattee idli and Davangere Benne Dosa as suggested by the waiter. Both the dishes were simply amazing. I must say finger licking good. Have not seen such an idli before... Then we ordered a kerela parontha which was accompanied with a vegetable korma. The parontha was also too good.
Overall 5 star to the food, 5 star to the staff , 5 star to the service, 5 star to the rates and the amazing place they have made..
A must go family place. Good luck to them..
Visited this one yesterday and my experience was satisfying.
Malgudi Station serves South Indian, North Indian and Chinese but I was more interested in the South Indian breakfast.
The ambiance isn't fancy but does the work. You can have your meal in a peaceful surrounding.
Thatte idli was our first order. Thatte idli is nothing but a flat idli which is made using tapioca pearls which change its texture. It tastes better with chutney. Something different than our regular soft spongy idli but does the work.
Then we went for Rawa masala dosa which was again the best one I had in recent time. The dosa was crispy at the edges and soft at the middle. The sambar somehow didn't impress me as it had more of a Puneri touch but the chutney was good so it doesn't count.
I loved the food here and will definitely come back soon to try different things.
Well, to be honest, I was bit skeptical about my visit to Malgudi station but it turns out to be pretty good.
Baner has so many options when it comes to South Indian food so the competition is furious here.
Malgudi station comes as a newbee in this competition but trusts me it keeps the promise of serving good South Indian food.
I've been here for breakfast and my experience was pretty good.
Sambar - Everyone looks for the sambar when you visit an udapi outlet. The sambar you get here is good nothing extraordinary, it has puneri touch which makes it a little bit on the sweet side.
Just one thing I observed which I found lacking was that the chutney which was served to us was watery which I wasn't expecting. It tasted nice but the consistency wasn't on the point.
Mysore masala dosa - crispy at the edges soft smooth at the middle, this is how I like my dosa.loved it.
Overall - I loved the food here which was definitely something you would like to try. I will visit again and look out for the same consistent result.
Their specialty is Mangalorean food which was on point. The idli which was served to us was fresh, fluffy and fulfilling.
Medu Wada was again made to perfection, fluffy soft and not too oily.
Overall - I loved the food over here. I will definitely come back soon to try the other things.

My sis in law took us here for Rakhi Treat And guess what I loved the food both quality & quantity wise. After hearing the name it was clear that it is a south Indian restaurant. But they serve other stuff too.
Tried
1) Manchow soup: Delicious with lots of veggies & perfectly blended spices. We try this soup everywhere by far I rate it 4.3/5
2) Mysore Bun: For me it was something new & liked it to the core & must try. Little bit sweet but is served with chole in pink gravy & thr white coconut chatani. Yummmm 5/5
3)Neer Dosa: 3 thin layers of Neer Dosa with above two side servings + grated coconut with jaggery in one more bowl was an added touch to d dish. Kids just loved it 5/5
4)Veg Crispy: highly recommended..!! very crispy & perfectly spiced. Chinese style 10/5
5)Shezwan fried rice: my husband was like it's ok but I liked it. 3.8/5
6)Hakka noodles: nothing great it taste d same the way it is served in every restaurant.
7) Idli: forgot the name but 1 big spongy idle served with thr authentic Sambar & chatani... Just indulge in it... Gonna visit again & again for sure
It was a Rakhi Day so we were offered 20% discount Wala menu card.
Such a great place with great food taste ..malgudi idli is the best ..must visit place at baner with variety of options ..love the food taste..5/5.
This place and atmosphere is awesome, and very testy food , specially South Indian & Punjabi dishes. staff is polite, and well knowledge about food
Great place with variety of tasty food
Must visit place at baner .
Must try paneer lababdar and malgudi idli amazing taste .
Had great experience. #friendly stop .
Best Dosa to start your day with. Very clean and hygienic place. Amazingly fast service. Fairly reasonable prices, much better if you have Zomato gold. Pretty authentic.
The taste of the South Indian food is just amazing. Ambience is also fine. South Indian food is served with three chutnis. I liked the Sambar personally. I gave 4 stars and not 5 because of the service. We had to demand for water and even the bill took so much time.
For me, one the most preferred cuisine for breakfast is South-Indian and so I visited Malgudi Station few days back. Let me tell you, I loved almost all the dishes I tried and was satisfied completely.
The ambiance is basic but comfortable and good. The seating arrangement consist of sofa and chairs which is quite comfortable.
Now, coming to food, I tried:
1. Thatte Idli [Rs.85]: Basically, it's a disc shaped, flat idli. It is very soft and big in size. It was sprinkled with some gun powder. It's a nice option to try a different variant of idli.
2. Malgudi Idli [Rs.100] : This was so good. It was fluffy, melt-in-mouth and so-soft. It was going well with sambhar and chutney. You should definitely try this one.
3. Medu Wada [Rs.100]: Again, loved this dish. The wada was super crisp and had a really good texture. And it wasn't oily at all.
4. Adei Butter Dosa [Rs.125]: It's basically a dosa made of lentils and spices. After the dosa was served, we kept it for a long time and it got cold so I didn't like it much.
5. Mysore Masala Dosa [Rs.135] : The key ingredient in this is that red mysore chutney which I liked here and so liked this dosa. The aloo masala was also good. I like my dosa a bit crisp and this wasn't but overall it was nice.
6. Mangalore Buns [Rs.75] : It is a big, fluffy puri made with ripped bananas and so it gives a little hint of sweetness but I really enjoyed this with sambhar and chutney. It was a little crispy from outside and soft within. Loved it!
7. Bisi Beal Bhat [Rs.125]: Well, this is one of the specialty in rice from South Indian region. It's made of rice, lentils, veggies, tamarind and a special masala. It's very simple yet tasty dish.
8. Chickmaglore Coffee [Rs.35] : A good south indian meal is incomplete without a good 'filter kappi', isn't it? This one was a strong coffee with lots of milk foam on top. It was good.
In short, if you're near Baner and craving for some good south indian dishes at a reasonable price, you can definitely visit Malgudi Station.

I visited this restaurant directly after a year or so.
I assumed the prices might have increased because of the loss suffered by pandemic but surprisingly it hasn't.
Still the rates are very reasonable and quantity is generous.
The taste of Sambar was excellent, Chatni however was a bit more sour, (no idea why).
Coffee and Chai was also quite good.
General Sanitizers available as well as they provide one at each table so kudos for that.
Cleanliness is maintained and staff wore masks.
Ambience is good. I won't say great but it's just like any other indoor restaurant.
Have visited malgudi station twice with family. The joint has humble decor. It offers both north indian and south indian dishes. Our order consisted of paneer ki sabji, butter naan, idli sambhar and masala dosa. The food is taste and portion size is good. Prices for items are justified. Service is quick and staff is friendly.
If you are in search of authentic south Indian food then you are at the right place. They have variety of options to have from Dosa/Idli/vada. The food is amazing and the place is well maintained and very hygienic.
Must try from the menus are as follows
1)Malgudi Idli
2)Tatte Idli
3)Mysore masala dosa
4)Rawa dosa
5)Dhai vada
6) Coffee
Visiting this place once won't be a justice. The place is near by road and they have enough space for parking as well.
Totally enjoyed my meal here. Loved the Dosa and Idli. The price of the dish is totally justified by the quality and taste of the food. Couldn't really try much the other day, but yes I'm coming back again!
Good place for South Indian food.. I liked Mini Idli dish here...
Just one complaint though prices are on the higher side..

Authentic south Indian restaurant
Ample of place for sitting
Nice big place is there at back side of it for hosting a party
Food taste is also good.
Nice and clean place
I can say very authentic place for South Indian food. The chutneys surved were pure coconut chutney and tatste is best . I would recommend to try their chefs special dishes. Coffee is too good and gives your meal a perfect end. And not to forget, all items are reasonably priced.😀😋
Just exceptional and topnotch quality
I just came here for Filter Coffee, but ended up eating Paneer 65 and Fresh Lime Soda and then a Filter Coffee on above
I am sorry I was busy with eating Paneer 65 which looked like a typical South Indian food but attractive and the taste was bang on and value for money with fresh lime soda and sitting inside Malgudi what you need 😎.
Now let me enjoy Chikmanglur Coffee ☕...
I am sorry I just ate all food, so you see only empty plate with rest fried onion, capsicum and a beautiful fresh soda glass...
An authentic south Indian restaurant. Soft spongy idli's you must taste here. Thatte idli is famous one. The restaurant offers wide range of south Indian delicacies. I liked Adai Dosa . Filter coffee and even black coffee is amazing. A must visit place. Courteous staff and affordable rates.
