Visited here twice. Nice location. Grate food at reasonable price. Two locations on google map... it is exactly corner of karve chouk. Visited first time when the restaurant anniversaey is there and they served bombil fry as a complementary and meet the owner of the restaurant. When visited 2nd time restaurants owner Ajinkya remember me with my name which was quite impressive. Keep it up guys !

Fish o fish , a small eatery has been quietly making a name for itself. I had been to this place a couple of years back and returned yesterday for a late lunch The place has undergone a sea change in terms of ambience and though not exactly a fine dine ambience, it still has turned into a nice cosy and comfortable place. What did endear more is the excellent attitude of the owner. In spite of being past 3 PM (the normal closing time) he accommodated us and welcomed with a smile. We ordered for prawn thali and surman thali. The surman was fresh and the pieces were good in size perfect for one person. So as well the prawns. The best part was that the masala weren't overbearing. More like home cooked that won't leave you with acidity related problems, but enough to give you great flavors. The fried fish was again cooked to perfection leaving a lingering taste. Overall a very satisfying lunch and we definitely look forward to coming back to try the other varieties

This will be the question I will ask anyone who chooses to go to Fish O Fish on my recommendation.
An impromptu dinner plan and a craving for fried fish took us to Fish O Fish in Kothrud.
Our heavy meal of pomfret Thali and fried fish was over, and while we were ruminating what we ate, we were asked to try the khaapi here!
This fish resembled a bigger mackarel. It had absolutely pink tender flesh, and a distinct sweetish flavour. The sweetish flesh paired with the crispy salty masala marination tasted absolutely divine.
I regretted filling myself with pomfret, I should just have ordered more khaapi!!
Crediting Shyam Sharma for this superb recommendation : He threatened to disown us if we don't try this fish, and pushed us to awaken the true-blue foodies within us to order khaapi!
Priced at somewhere between 200 and 250, don't remember the exact amount as if we already had hit fish coma by then!
What a lovely find this was! I have not noticed many seafood restaurants serving this fish, but if you know more places in Pune that serve Khaapi, please comment below!

They have got fish fry, Bangda curry, rice, chapatis, rice, and a speciality called tival, which is a spicy kokum juice.

Located near karve statue this small restaurant's fish preparations will surely tantalize your test buds. Tava fried Surmai, Stuffed Pomfret, bombil fry and rava fried prawns would be my recommendation.

Visited this restaurant yesterday to try their Sea Food Special thali. Was really impressed with the food. Being from the coast myself, I thought the curries they served were perfectly spiced and the fish, be it prawns or Pomfret was cooked or fried to perfection. Only thing that dissapointed me slightly was the bombil fry, it was a bit soggy. But the other preparations in this thali were spot on.
Not much for ambience, it is a small resto with a few tables. Small and Cosy!
On the plus side, the place doesn't smell of fish as the kitchen and the sitting area are perfectly positioned.
The staff was friendly, polite and prompt in taking the order and serving us.

Thalis are best , you get real kokani/Malvani flavour.
"Tival"is thing which you don't get to see often in Pune , East and North Maharashtra (Speciality of Konkan).
Fishes are fresh , properly cooked.
The staff is helpful and suggestive to customers so that they can have proper choice.
There is one small part which you to have overlook is that they have small dinning area and you have to be in que . As we know all things can't be perfect.
It's worth to be in que for delicious fishes.

Excellent food! The food was satisfying with its taste and quantity. The Special Fish thali is sumptuous and offers almost everything you could want in one meal! I'm still remembering every bite of the meal! The lamb/mutton in the couple meal too was delicate and tasty.

We ordered in from this place last night and I can’t stop highly recommending this place! The starters were two portions of surmai Rava fry and one portion of prawns Tawa fry. Both were excellent, fresh and tasty. The main we ordered was the mutton masala and chapatis, the mutton was succulent and the masala was unusually blackish but delicious. Even the plain rice was superb with a aroma.
Swiggy did a great job on the delivery and the food was very well packed in sealed bags! Again if you have a craving for fish or good maharashtrian style mutton just pick up your phone and dial if I’m pune.

This is the place you would want to visit if you are a fish lover. Right from authentic Malvani Fish Curries, Bhakari, Fried Fish to the Solkadhi, everything here tastes great. The fish thalis are sufficient for one person. I love the Surmai Thali, Pomfret Thali and Prawns Thali. They serve the respective variety of Fish curry, Fried Fish, Rice Bhakaris, Rice, Sukat Chutney( dried Prawns chutney) , green Coconut Chutney, Red Chutney, Tival( an appetiser drink), Solkadhi( coconut milk based beverage) and salad. It's completely satisfying to come here and have lunch or dinner. The interiors are simple but clean and hygienic. The service is pretty quick, also the delivery. So if you love authentic Konkani seafood, let this be on your list.

I was craving for fish since months. Planned to have Mastani , ended up having Bangdas.. excellent service.. I was the last customer to enter, they asked me at very start about the last n final order for closing time. I ordered one bangda rawa fry, and it turned out so delicious that when I ordered the second one, despite the kitchen was closed, the nice captain reopened it and served me. Mouth watering taste.

Fish O Fish, such a nice catchy name here. Located in Kothrud, easy to find near karve statue. As the name suggests, specialty in fish fry and fish thali. Parking could be the issue here. Place is not that much crowded and you can get the table most of the times.
Ambiance: Smallish but cozy, simple, no nonsense decor with brownish color scheme all over the place. The brown wooden name plate with the nice fish symbol is attractive. Lighting is very bright. Tables are really close, and sitting is bit narrow for chubby people like me but that's ok as the they do not have much of a space to accommodate bigger tables and chairs.
Service: Staff is descent and serving time for thali is quite quick. Fish fry might take some time as per the availability and pre-marinated fish from stock.
Food: I have been hoping a nice tasty food as I was going to compare this place with Satkar - Sinhgad road which also serves similar kind of food and kind of a budget benchmark place for me.
Prawns rawa fry - Really tasty, nicely marinated and fried to near perfection. Quantity was also descent for the price we pay. Served along with onion salad, slice of lime and red chutney. It was not that oily even it was deep fried which is plus point. Great dish.
Bombil fry - Got a complimentary bombil fry. I am not a big fan of bombil but few folks with me liked it. It was crunchy and marination was also good. It's better i don't say much about the dish as I hate bombil but still i tasted it and was descent.
Surmai/Rawas/Prawns thali - We ordered 3 different thalis with 3 different fish. All the thalis had common fish curry, chapati, fish fry, sol kadhi and kokam saar, red chutney, onion salad and sukat chutney. Fish curry was all coconut and typical konkan style thick orange gravy which was nice. Aroma was all over the place. Fish fry was really good but the fish slices were bit small. Sukar chutney was a nice taste breaker and so was kokam saar. Tangy and served chill. Sol kadhi could have been better as it lacked a spice which I really like.
Overall, its a nice place to go with your family. Also pocket friendly, budget, value for money place and good if you are low on budget but still has a craving for fish.

The Surmai pulimunchi is a must try!
Had been with my wife for dinner as we wwfe craving for some seafood. We both had ordered surmai thali. The only difference being, her was bhakri and mine was chapati. The thali had one surmai fry, bangda curry, sukat, tival, solkadi, chutney, chapati and rice. The surmai fry, sukat and bangda were really good. But a lot of improvement needs to be done on the tival and the solkadi. The solkadi will never taste good if it is kept under refrigeration. Also, tival is not served cold like solkadi. These are two things which I think need improvement.
Delicious fish at a very reasonable price. Do try prawns masala, chicken/mutton sukka, surmai fry. Not much for the look and feel but the food is definitely tasty. Good variety of thali as well.

Few days back when I was in kothrud area for some work land up here to satisfy my fish cravings. And glad that I choose this. Quick look up in menu card and ordered surmai thali (320rs)
It consist of surmai fry, bangda curry, tival, sukat, solkadhi and green chutney. Surmai was very fresh and soft, fried to perfection. Liked a lot. Bangda curry was good too, very distinct taste. But bangda piece along with curry was very small in size 😏. Solkadhi was average, nothing great in taste. Tival was okayish, regardless of trying it first time my tastebuds didn't like it much. Green chutney was HIT, typical kokani taste to it.
Overall nothing fancy yet clean seafood special place in heart of kothrud. Pretty VFM too. Do try and share your experience 😊

To start with ... Solakadhi was the best I had in long time. It was not machine made and artificially flavoured like most of the hotels serves now a days. They have added uniqueness to it by adding crushed nutmeg and believe me it was making world of difference. At point my expectations were raised about this place .
Ordered suirami tawa, suramai rava fry and bombil fry as starters.
Bombil fry was Golden fried, fresh and juicy. Tatsed best with the green mango chantani they served.
To my surprise both the dishes Suramai tawa and rava were having their differences at right places. Fish used was very fresh and juicy.
For main course the have very good thalis. We ordered a couple thali. Couple thalis also had 5 varieties to choose the combinations. One that we had ordered came with surmai tawa, mutton Sukha, prawns masala. Thali was having good quantity and enough for hungri duos.
Prawns masala was excellent. It was little bit more salty (but in acceptable limits) to overcome sweetness of prawns. Prawns were cooked perfectly to hold their crunch at the same time being juicy.
I found mutton Sukha very exciting.
Overall whatever I had ordered, everything was excellent and had some uniqueness in taste to differentiate from other seafood special restaurants.
Being small place Ambiance is very functional and nothing fancy but very clean and hygienic. They do serve very good sea food at very economical prices.
Service is good and owner Mr. Ajinkya Bagade is kind enough to visit your table and ask you about preparations. He also provides suggestions while placing order which are worthy to consider.

This place has one of the best fish thalis in Pune. It is a small outlet with seating of 15 - 20 people. We had prawns and pomfret Thali. The pomfret was well cooked (Best part not deep fried but shallow fried to perfection) and so was the curry. Would definitely visit again.

I'm actually very late to write our experience about Fish O Fish. Its been couple of months we had been to this place. It is a small setup with 4-6 tables inside & few outside.
We had ordered Surmai thaki & Chicken thali. Chicken thali was good but that is not people looking for in this restraunt, but the sea food.
Surmai thali was more than sufficient for one person. It has fish curry which was absolutely yummy, fish fry & fish sukha served with Roti & rice & backed with Sonkari. Taste was authentic that we liked a lot & would like to visit this place again.
Service is quite good & staff is very helpfull even in suggesting what to order. 😊
Suggestion: Try not to go by car as parking in this area is a pain. Moreover, restraunt is situated inside a lane.

Was looking for a place I had never been to before near my home, serving fish for a quiet early dinner and Fish O Fish is where I ended up having a fabulous Surmai Thali and Bombil Rawa (Bombay Duck) Fry. A small, very neat and clean place serving Karwar styled seafood. I had read a couple of good experiences/reviews for this place and after today's dinner felt all the views and reviews were completely justified.
The Surmai Thali had one piece of surmai rawa fried, surmai curry in Karwar style, sukkat (dry fish) chutney, red coconut chutney, Tival (kokum sherbet kinds but the sour one) good natural antacid properties, Solkadi, fresh hot chapati (optional bhakri) and one portion of fragrant steamed rice. Good, simple flavorful food and attentive yet not intrusive service.
The bombil rawa fry pretty good too, but one or two pieces were a bit oily.
Good experience for sure and definitely a place I am going back soon.

I ordered prawns biriyani and rawa fry prawns. The biriyani was flavourful and quantity was enough for two people. It came with a gassi style curry, which complimented the biriyani. The fired prawns were crisp and not at all oily. It came with a coconut based chutney. Delivery was prompt and as promised. Good food, will definitely go here again!

I tried surmai karwari curry & rice, prawns tawa fry, surmai thali. All dishes delicious. Fish perfectly cooked. Solkadi was also good.
They have comparatively small menu but everything is tasteful.
In all a decent place. Ample parking available on the road. Decent pricing. Good size of the portions.
Must go place IMO.

This is a place called FISH HEAVEN!!! came to know through a close friend and then our journey never ended!!! Very Kool on budget and very hot in taste!!! Must try the bombil fry, prawn thali, kombdi wade, rice bhakri... The pomfret fry was of pretty decent size and was yum to eat! Sol kadhi was to die for...
If fish is what u love and live for (like me), your search ends here!!! Avoid when it's busy, you might be overlooked... Otherwise, I'm sure ul be so happy with the food, that u won't worry about the slow service, during peak times.

Visited this restaurant this week. The Surmai Fish Fry (both Rawa & Tawa fry) was awesome. The restaurant is very pocket friendly. The ambience of the restaurant was also very good & the staffs were also very friendly. Although the bombil fry was not that good as we expected.Overall its a good restaurant to visit for fish lovers.
Nice place to have Sea-food in kothrud area. The fish is just home like. Prawns Green Masala is must try. Order takes a bit time but I am generally not to complain on that front. Try at least ones for seafood.
This is a small sea food restaurant near Karve Putala, Kothrud (next to Sujata Mastani). I have visited this place twice. The staff is good but the service is a little slow which I is fine because they don't serve ready dishes like the Udupi restaurants.
The first time it was Bombil Thali and Prawns masala. I liked the Prawns masala with Rice flour Bhakari. The Thali was decent too.
The next time it was Bangada Thali and a glass of Solkadhi. This time the Solkadhi was a disappointment. Did not taste authentic was too watery and no flavor of the ingredients.
But overall a decent experience.
My observation at sea food restaurants - The sea food Thali usually has Sukat Chatni that is dry fish chatni, which is not actually Sukat its Jawala. Sukat is a different variety of dried prawns. Not sure why they call Sukat for Jawala.
I have visited this place more than once. I like the food as well as the way they treat their customers. Last time when I visited this place it took quite some time for them to serve in mean time they serve us bombil fry which was nice and crispy.I have tried pomfret fry ,surmai fry, bhangda fry ,prawns curry here and all were delicious. All the best Fish O fish :-)
I expected more out of the restaurant . I had heard a lot of their cooking . It fell short of the expectations tough.
Surmai tawa fry : it was Jus PAN grilled . May be a little overcooked . Masala was non existent . Little squeeze of the lime gave it some body of flavour
Bombil fry : the coat was seasoned well and the fish was perfectly cooked what was disappointing was the chutney they served with the fish . Chutney was fresh but lacked any kind of acidity or Didn't pack a punch

WORTH A TRY.
A nice place just before the Karve Putala chowk in Kothrud, this place serves fish, chicken and mutton in typical maharashtrian style (thaali as well as dishes) which are accompanied by kokam solkadhi, teel etc to cool the taste buds.
We had been there on a Sunday for lunch. Got the place pretty quickly and so was our order taken quickly. But it took quite some time for them to serve. The bombil fry was deep fried, nice and crisp which came with a nice tangy chutney which went well with the fish.
For the mains, we had a portion of ukkad chicken, prawns thaali and chicken thaali. The prawns masala in the thaali could have been better; the prawns and masala were giving their individual tastes; maybe could have been mixed/tossed evenly. The curry was excellent. The chicken was very good; both the masala as well as the curry. Even the ukkad chicken was delicious. The rice/chapatis/bhakris were served hot and that made us enjoy the meal to the full extent.
The improvements can be made in terms of the service; but for the quality of the food (except for the prawns masala), I would give full marks here.

This tiny little place serves the most amazing Fish Thalis, among the best I've ever had.
We ordered a surmai Thali, a prawns Thali and a special Thali.
The must haves here are the sukat chutney, prawns masala,prawns fry, surmai fry and their sulakadi which was just too good.
The only thing I didn't like was the bombil fry, rest everything even the curry was lip smackingly good. The price was pretty much affordable and the service was great. The staff was very receptive and sweet.
This is small resturant like cute ambience.the food are good but as I am fish lover they didn't satisfy me.Dishes like prawn masala and surmai fry they are fantastic.The have goan and coocon curry items with coconut flavoured which i didn't like.i recomend to try surmai fry and prawn masala.happy eating.
If you are a Sea-Food lover ,you should try this place. I ordered here Prawns Rawa Fry and Mandeli Fry! Taste is good with well fried.

If you like seas-food made like Konkani style or Home-made way , this is the place for you.
Do try Mandeli Fry ! It's yummy and other restaurants won't serve Mandeli Fish(at least in Pune)
Ordered Chicken Thali and Pomfret Thali at Fish O Fish Restaurant. The Pomfret and the Chicken Sukka were Really Tasty, Fresh and Delicious. A lovely Quiet Place For A Calm Comfortable Lunch or Dinner. The Place is Clean and Hygienic and The Service is Good. The People serving are very Polite, attentive and warm. Visited FishOFish on the 1st Of May with My Family. The only disappointment was that we could not get Crab masala or even Tisrya masala for Lunch as it was not available at the market. However full marks to the Food. Will Definately Visit Again.
Ordered Fish thali today from Fish O Fish. It was absolutely delicious. The taste is very authentic malwani. The rice bhakaris were perfect. Most of the hotels mess up bhakaris but they didn't. Loved the prawns curry, bombil chatani. Must visit!!!
I mean its good, but little expensive at ₹650 for a pomfret Thali??
Also half the items on Menu are APC.. you are selling those items daily, just put some average cost so people get idea.

THE STORY OF FISH O FISH
Moshezz starts salivating at the name Of Fish and when Ajinkya invited her over to FIsh O Fish on a sunny afternoon to 🐾 paw up some gorgeous delightful delicacies from the sea food cuisines of West and South, she readily accepted and made her afternoon delicious and dainty along with Supandii and King Kong.
The afternoon began with glasses of chilled Kokum juice and two crispy well made tamales fried fishes walking to the table. #Khapi_rawa_fry & #Soundalya_rawa_fry were both delectably delicious and walloped off by the trio in minutes. The chutneys served along with the fry were extraordinaryily delicious and Moshezz unabashedly asked for second servings.
Supandi recalled having had #prawns_pullimunchi here once and the dish was brought to the table and full justice done to it in seconds by finishing it off and leaving not a single piece of prawn or a little lockable curry on the plate. Wiped off clean. That's what fish lovers like this trio do always. O fish! ! They r so greedy goblins I tell you but their love for fish makes them favourites of mine. I hope yours as well.
#Crab_Masala_Fry was recommended by Ajinkya and the trio decided to lay their taste buds to some good old masaledaar well spiced Crab masala. Succulent juicy hard shelled crabs but yet the curry masalas made their way through to win over the meaty juicy insides and add the jus of the masalas to the crab making it robust in taste and finger licking delicious.
The stomachs were full by then but Dil mange more and in walked the Surmai and Ponder Thali. Moshezz had a spoonful of the fish curry cooked in Goan masala and gave one verdict. A big zesty happy loud Meowww aka #must_try. Rich in colour texture n taste. Well what else can you ask for!! Dived in paws locked up well and good and canines pouncing up every bit of the Surmai and pomfret till its bones and then a happy Burrrppppy Meowww was what made Ajinkya smile that he has done his job well and good and this place is just the best place for a good fish curry and rice.
The freshness of the fish be if the Khapi or pomfret or Surmai or prawns or Saundalya was something that Fish O Fish can proudly boast about and the readers venture out to savour some. The place is nestled in the busy bylanes of karve road and promises to satisfy pamper replenish and build up your love for sea food over and over again.
If you trust Moshezz, do see the sea food of this place and devour up some to fill up your tummy n soul with the goodness of seafood served at its best!!
Recently visited this place and was pleasantly surprised with their menu. The taste has improved vastly.
We ordered chicken and prawn thali. Also had bombil fry. Bombil was nicely done and crispy.
Service is also good. Will definitely go again. Fish lovers in Kothrud should try this.

Great Place to try authentic Malwani Cuisine. Thalis are more than filling. Portion sizes are good and prices are fair. 5-stars for the taste. Staff is friendly and so is the owner.

Destination FISH O FISH is a Perfect treat for fish lovers!
A known name for many however a brief introduction…
This is a small eatery that has an extensive menu serving starters, thali and a la carte. It has fish, chicken, mutton and vegetarian menu. A few tables indoor and a couple of tables outdoor. We choose to site outside as the weather was perfect.
We were here, celebrating a birthday. And recommend by fellow foodies Shyam Sharma and other with us .
We had an a la carte menu…
Started with solkadhi and tiwal.
Starter with Bombil fry, Prawn Rava Fry, Pulimunchi Surmai . Both Bombil and Prawns were crispy fried but what stole the show was the Pulimunchi masala surmai….tangy, medium spicy and tender. Must have. It was served with the classic red and green chutney both were fresh and well made.
Dinner was Sukkat (Sukti), Prawn Goan Masala, Bangda Karwari Curry, Kala Rassa Mutton Curry with rice bhakri, chapati and plain rice. A homely, not to spicy and delicious meal. Sukkat and Bangda Karwari were outstanding. Rest everything met expectations.
The fish variety ordered were freshest fresh, recommendation by owner were to our liking and courteous service won many hearts.
6 hungry foodies and a bill of Rs 3000/- I can say this meal had variety of dishes we could taste within reasonable pricing.
For the vegetarians I am told the Puran poli and shev bhaji is a must must have.
Would definitely visit again yes! & recommend you visit.. Have a look at the picture.

I have ordered pomfret thali and egg thali. Both were delicious but only one thing bothered me that in egg that the curry was chicken curry and they have added eggs to it. No separate preparation for egg thali n that’s a big disappointment.
Overall experience was good.

Outstanding Food! The Kala Mutton is highly recommended apart from Crab Meat and rest of the items on the menu.

Good quality of veg and non veg food available at a reasonable rate here. This Hotel's environment is very clean. It is located roadside that's why it can be visible from the vehicle in heavy traffic . It is a good place for families to visit. Outdoor seating arrangement also available here. You can try it
Very tasty and amazing food.. a must visit restaurant for fish lover. Also the fish they serve are fresh and the rates are very reasonable.
Amazing seafood faire! Reasonably priced and worth every penny. The fish was well cooked and served fresh (you could taste it!) The only thing that could use work is the ventilation in the restaurant (not that there was any odour). Being summer it was extremely hot and there wasn't any AC in the indoor seating area. However the owner said that they will be working on that soon!
Will definitely visit again!
