#MagnumOpus #Lollapaloooza
Hello everyone, will you believe me if i tell you all that you can get a lavish spread of buffet dinner (veg + non veg) at just Rs.399++ per head? Well that's possible at Lollapalooza's sister concern restaurant, Magnum Opus at pimple saudagar.
Read on guys, you will be amazed at the variety they are offering at this price...👍😍
They have come up with this concept of weekdays buffet dinner which costs rs. 399/- (plus taxes) per head. Same will cost you rs. 650/- (plus taxes) during weekends.
Let me begin with a few inputs about the restaurant....This is a rooftop restaurant with quite inviting ambience. We were welcomed warmly by their staff and were escorted to our tables. I was truly overwhelmed by their hospitality. Staff was very polite, prompt and service was top notch. Seating was comfortable and they had an option of indoor as well as outdoor seating.
The cherry on the cake was a live singer and guitarist who was seated at the outdoor section and was singing melodious numbers, enjoyed his singing to the core.
Now coming to the food, I must say they are offering a great spread and lots of variety in food items for this price. They have you covered right from refreshing welcome drinks to delectable desserts.
I won't be talking in length about each and every item i tasted here but would like to give a brief about what i liked or disliked. Guys i'm trying to be as honest as i can be with my review, so take this as a genuine opinion.
So here i go...
#Drinks 🍹 - We were served two chilled refreshing drinks namely, Nimbu Sharbat and Kokam Sharbat. Nimbu sharbat was nice and flavourful but i found kokam sharbat little bland in the first batch, next time they got a better version of it upon mentioning it to them.
#Soups 🥘 - There were two varieties of soups...Tamatar Hara Dhaniya Soup was okay, it was too sour, i could have given it a skip but Chiken Lung Fung Soup was fab. It was a must try for sure.
#Veg_Starters 🍡 - There were two starters each of veg as well as non veg. In veg, we got Peshawari Paneer Tikka which was quite nice and well grilled, paneer was super fresh and another was Hare Mutter ki tikki, this was too good, crispy and delicious...we ordered one more serving of this.
They had Vada Pav as well but i did not try it.
#Non_Veg_Starters 🍢 - They served us one chicken and one mutton starter, Chicken Turkish Kebab was good, well cooked boneless chicken tikkas...i would prefer if it was spicier though. Next was Mutton Lukhnowi Galouti Kebab, this was amazing. It wasn't melt in mouth kinds but it was definitely tasty.
All the starters were hot and served on table promptly by the staff.
#Salads 🥗 - There salad counter had a variety of salads and greens with four kinds of dressings to go.... also there was curd rice, but sadly i couldn't try any of those so cannot comment anything about the taste.
#Live_Counters 🍴 - Okay, so they had a few live counters as well which included chat counter, dosa counter, dimsum counter, pasta counter and imarti counter. Having such a great variety of live counters was amazing.
#Chat_Counter 🌶️ - I loved their papdi chat, it was a perfect mixture of sweet, sour n spicy with that much needed crunch, definitely a thumbs up to this one...they also had paani puri and dahi bhalle...both were just okay, did not impress me much.
#Dosa_Counter 🌯 - Here we had an option of masala dosa, cheese masala dosa or uttappa... I ordered masala dosa, the potato sabzi, coconut chutney and sambar that came with my dosa were upto the mark.
#Dimsum_Counter 🍜 - We were served veg and chicken dimsums with lots of dips to choose from, both the dimsums were really nice. Taste was authentic.
#Pasta_Counter 🍝 - We had a choice of sauces and pasta to choose from, I ordered a Pink Sauce Penne Pasta with lots of veggies. It was bang on. Very well made and truly yummy.
#Imarti_Counter 🍥 - They were serving garma garam imarti right from the kadhai to your plate along with rabdi to go with it. It was lovely...not very sweet, just perfect.
#Main_Course 🍛 - Again they had lots of veg as well as non veg dishes for main course which included Paneer Achari, Palak & Kala Chana Sabzi, Dal Tadka, Dal Khichdi, Veg Hakka Noodles, Rassadaar Kombdi, Kashmiri Gosht ka Salan & Kolkata Biryani with Rotis and Jeera Rice. I felt veg main course was okayish...nothing great mentioning about it, but in non veg both the gravies were brilliant...well cooked pieces and perfectly spicy...enjoyed both the gravies a lot.
Even kolkata biryani was very tasty and quite authentic with lots of potatoes which enhanced the taste of biryani furthermore.
#Desserts 🍨🍰 - Now this is my favourite section as all the desserts were amazing, none of those disappointed me. The dessert menu consisted of Gulab Jamun, Gajar Ka Halwa, Pineapple Pastry, Cup Cakes, Vanilla Ice Cream and a live imarti counter as i mentioned above.
Gulab Jamun was fully soaked in the syrup and it was melt in mouth, full marks to this.
Gajar ka Halwa was humble, not very sweet, with loads of khoya and nuts...yumm yum 😋😋
Pineapple Pastry was fresh, soft and juicy. Cup cakes were nice too but i found it a bit dry.
Overall this place impressed me with their courteousness, quick service, cleanliness, variety of menu and ofcourse food...few dishes would have been even better if they uplifted the spice levels a little bit, but overall it was enjoyable. We gave the due inputs about the same to Team Lollapalooza. I am sure they will work on it sportingly.
This is definitely a value for money deal if you are looking for dinner options during weekdays or even for weekends for that matter.
Final Verdict:
Service 5/5
Quality 5/5
Cleanliness and Presentation 5/5
Taste 4/5
Value For Money 5/5
They have a pure veg fine dining restaurant as well named as Bay Leaf Bistro just next to Magnum Opus on the same rooftop following which is Lollapalooza, a well known pub in this area of pune.
Lastly i'd like to thank #TeamLollapalooza for a wonderful evening... I had a great time indeed.
Go for it guys, am sure you will come home happy...😊😍
