Loved the sushi here and the ambience. The service was exceptional. The best of Japanese food I have eaten in Pune. The chef is friendly and recommends the best. Visit this place for a fantastic japanese meal.
We recently visited Harajuku, a fine-dine restaurant at O Hotel serving Japanese Cusine. At first, we felt that their pricing was a bit on the higher side but we found value for money in the Vegetarian Sushi Platter that contained 15-16 pieces of Sushi served alongside soy sauce and wasabi. The platter included Asparagus Tempura Maki, Acovado, Carrot, Cucumber & Takuan Sushi. This was not the best sushi we have eaten but certainly in the list of our good Sushi given the fact that the platter was wiped clean within minutes of its arrival on the table. We visited late afternoon and as there were fewer customers we got a chance to walk around and to see the entire restaurant. It has interesting table and seating options and also a counter in the middle of the restaurant where the Chef prepared our platter!
One of the oldest Japanese restaurants in Pune (has been operational for 10+ years). Though I only tried the sushi platter (purely out of greed), I'll be definitely going back for teppanyaki (live cooking), heard the beef (tenderloin) is must try. Also, they have many set-menus (bento box) options for lunch varying from sea food, poultry to beef. In case you are new to Japanese cuisine and apprehensive, please feel free to ask the chef and servers for recommendations. They are professionals and will help you make the right choice. Must visit
The fish was excellent and high quality, the service was good, but the prices are very high even for an occasion. Oddly, it was empty for lunch on a Saturday.
This place was an absolute surprise. A fan of sushi, I was thrilled to try out their live counter with sushi, wasabi sauce, seafood rice and to top it up some fried ice cream! It was an absolute delight to watch the live counter and try their heavenly food. The ambience is so beautiful you forget you’re in India and that just adds to the experience. Would love to try this place out again.

Starting with Clear Shrimp soup the taste looked impressive vegetables and shrimp we're fresh .
Tokujo shashimi is good option for people who love fish it covers nearly 7-8 types of authentic Japanese raw fish (Tuna,Salmon,Scallops,Crab,Salmon roe (eggs of salmon fish ) ,Octopus and Hamachi (Yellow tail ) with Intense taste of Soya sauce is must try
Chef's Special roll is awesome salmon , avacado , crabstick with two types of sauce goma dare (seasame seed sauce) and famous teriyaki sauce gives twist to your
tongue
Soba (stir fried noodles with tempura shrimp soup ) completed our meal on a good note it was quite decent

Good food with large portions in a nice setting. I had the salmon and it was larger than expected, glad I was hungry. The Filipino chef was very welcoming when we asked to meet him.
Nice place not a good one for seafood lover. Yes its quite overpriced but taste is good.the ambience is one of its kind in koregaon park. Staff is courteous.

Excited as I was, I donned my bright red polka dots in honour of the place, having eaten a frugal breakfast in preparation, I was there at sharp 1 pm. We started our lunch with freshly cut Sashimi. It was cut right in front of us by the chef. It was served coupled with Wasabi, Sweet ginger, Soya and pickled seaweeds. The ingredients were the star; fresh, tasteful, well cut, platter of flavours! The squid was diced small and sprinkled with chives and prawn roe served in a small cup made of cucumber. The tuna and salmon cut evenly eaten with the intense wasabi and soya were absolutely delightful. The prawns were so fresh and flavoursome that I could have eaten a plateful (and I would have had I not wanted to eat the sushi too). The scallops fresh and subtle were absolutely melting. The crabsticks pickled sweet were again another delight on the plate. We also asked for prawn roe and let me warn you it’s an acquired taste but works on you. We had it with Saki (INR 1400 additional) – warm and cold. While I liked Saki cold hubby liked it warm; either ways it was a lovely accompaniment.
The next was a sushi round – rainbow rolls, tuna and salmon with cream cheese rolls, Tuna and Salmon Nigiri, Prawn Nigiri, Crab Nigiri and Prawn tempura rolls. I must admit I do not appreciate fusion food too much unless its exceptionally well made and hence off the platter, though pleasant, Rainbow rolls were my least favourite. But I can assure you that I devoured the rest with abandon!! Like the sashimi these had beautiful ingredients and were very well made.
The meal also includes desserts. Hubby had Tempura Icecream and I had Pineapple Creppe with Icecream. My suggestion don’t leave space for dessert, just gorge on the good stuff .. 😊😊Definitely a repeat place…
Sushi is life❤️. I dint expect to find a good sushi place in Pune but this one totally fits the bill. Yes its slightly pricey, but amazing food! The ambience and service is also great. Definitely on my repeat list.
Well, food was nice. Especially banana dessert. But my experience of eating your dinner was ruined by zomato. their delivery guy was 2 hours late. ice cream turned in to milk. And after I slammed the door in his face he came back at 10 PM for MONEY when I already paid online. I had no idea it was Zomato's courier so I called O Hotel. I can't say they were amazingly helpful at all, but at least I found out that it was Zomato's fault. I will GO to this restaurant again, but never again ordering. You guys should have a serious talk with Zomato.
I had the best and authentic Japanese food here. Since I went with my Japanese friend, selection of food was done by the expert! I had sashimi, sushi, tempura, miso soup... Very nice and gorgeous ambience with bright red colors. It was awesome experience!

Japanese cuisine , colourful , art ,now that's all I know about it. Sushi for a guy born and bought up in Kerala is a big deal. I always wondered about the concept of sushi. Raw fish yuck !! That's the first thing that came into my mind. Raw fish was kind of a nightmare. It happens that I was spending some time with my friends (my partners in crime in pune ) and I put down this topic. Let's taste sushi and the other two idiots were like yeah !! . zomato came into rescue and we figured out the restaurant. Being at level zero (if there is one) we raised out white flag and said right away that we don't know anything about it and would even need help with chopsticks.. The lady who waited our table was very patient and guided us through the menu and even how to have it. We ordered a salmon sushi . the first bite was a bit strange as my mind was filled with the thought about raw fish. I ended up liking sushi. Raw fish !! . the texture was different the flavour was different all in all a new experience. We ended up knowing that sushi is not just about raw fish and we ordered another which was fried shrimp.. Tasted good. Out of three me and my other friend liked it. The third person was not so in favour of our decision.. So if you are a person who wanted to try sushi and was taken back just because of raw fish in it , just hit this place and try it. I will say there is 70% chance you will like it . the food will taste bad only when you keep thinking about raw fish and you convince your mind it is bad. The place was good , nice and quite and lady who waited our table was
patient. In all a very suuuuhi experience . it would have been better if there was kind of a live counter to show us how sushi's are made . all in all I would recommend this place . and yeah am now at level 1 !!
Big fan of sushi since the first time I had it in Hungary, decided to have my birthday lunch at this place. A weekday justified lack of audience. If you are new to Japanese cuisine, the menu would be pretty much rocket science. After deciphering it for a while and post our discussion with the staff, we short listed a few.
We started with Miso soup, it was a rich broth of veggies with aroma of sea food followed by sushi platter set 1. It looked amazingly beautiful, the fish was fresh but we couldn't finish the tuna piece as it was too chewy.
For main course we ordered the Tempura Set lunch, the fried portions were too oily and the egg fried rice was a bit stale, we finished the salad as it was best of the lot. To wrap up, we ordered Masumi Toukusen Sake, it was highlight of the day, it carried enough punch to knock us off our senses.

Loved the rainbow roll here. Agreed its an expensive place but worth visiting if you like Japanese food. There are so many things i feel i still need to try here so definitely i am going there again :) The ambiance is pretty neat too. And the service is good too. Overall an outstanding place.

I have tried sushi at a few places in Pune lotssss of places in Bangalore.. But harajuku is definitely the best.
I've had better sushi in Milan.. For India and Pune.. This is the place. So well loosen up ur pockets n go enjoy ur meal.
For all those ppl hating on the food... Guess what!! That's how Japanese tastes so develop a palate for it.. Or pls stick to ur Indian Chinese!
They serve the best Unagidon (rice with eel filet in a sweet sauce) in town. The California roll was another highlight! Afternoon is a great time to go and have a quiet private lunch.

My 1 st tryst with Japanese food..... ! Yup I am definitely coming back for more! The soup, sushi, drinks all were good. Sorry don't remember the names though..... Guess a couple more visits should make me familiar with the menu.... :-)
Must try the volcano roll its off the menu but they make it, food is top quality and excellent.
Hara Juku is definitely the best Japanese restaurant in Pune. The decor is quite exquisite and welcoming. They have a live Teppenyaki counter where the chef makes fresh delicacies in from of you. The Sushi or Sashimi platters here were incredibly good. Even the veg sushi was superb and we ended up ordering one more platter. The food was quite authentic and incredibly delicious. Though the prices are absolutely exorbitant its quite an experience. We were 6 people and we ended up paying Rs 18,000 (incl alcohol) by the end of our Japanese odyssey.

Hara Juku at The O Hotel in Koregaon Park is by far the best Japanese themed restaurant in Pune. Though the place is rather steep, the experience of a meal there combined with the quality of the food served is completely worth every last dime spent there. I have had the fortune of eating Sushi and Sashimi in some of the fine dines in various cities across India and in Dubai and I must say compared to any of those Hara Juku holds its own.
Harajuku is named after the high end fashion district in Japan and true to its names the interiors do not disappoint. They have an eclectic mix of giant porcelain dolls, stark contrasts of Red and Black in the decor and high chairs with tall backs. The Teppenyaki counter in the middle of the room is the center of attraction where they have a live interactive kitchen and the chef indulges you with various tricks much to your delight. We always start with the Sushi or Sashimi platter and move on to a dish of the Crazy Maki Rolls. Do try the Teppankayi as its the most entertaining aspect of the meal and also absolutely scrumptious and delightful.
The service is great and the staff is very polite. If you are one of those that likes experimenting with food or is a big fan of Japanese food and doesn't mind spending money on a good meal, Hara Juku is a must try for you.
As in most cities in Middle East and the US, most regular Japanese restaurants chefs are usually from Korea and the Philippines. I was a regular guest at the O hotel Pune and liked the decor, and food at the Hara Juku restaurant. I had earlier met the head Chef during my travels in Beirut where he was then working at the Le Meridien Beirut.
The staff are all from Manipur and Raymond and his team always ensures sushi are served right across the counter. Despite the limitation of authentic ingredients he does his best to bring out the flavors of Japan the best he can. Its a must go if you happen to be in Pune. The hotel is also well located right near the former Rajneesh Ashram.
Hara Juku at The O Hotel is a breath of fresh air. They have live Sushi, Sashimi and Teppanyaki counters which make for a very fun dining experience. The interiors are very sharp and classy and the food is scrumptious. This place is a must try for all Japanese food lovers.
