The food was very tasty.....we had Chicken Peshawari, Jeera Aloo, Achari Murg, Garlic Naan and Rice. Chicken was cooked perfectly. Although the decor isn't really that great and the service was average...overall it was a good experience. I would recommend this restaurant purely based on the food that is served here.
Absolutely brilliant food! I would say my favourites are Bhindi masala, paneer, karari roti and gulab jamun. Although the food is great, I would say the place is on the more expensive side.
Had awesome time here with friends. Serves awesome chicken angara kabab and chicken tandoori which goes well with chilled beer. Staff was very helpful and honest.
Food at Great Punjab is synonymous with its name. It serves the perfect punjabi food with right balance of flavors in its dishes..typical of Pynjabi dishes. The kebabs and tandoori items are a must try. We went for dinner and noteworthy tandoori items are: chicken angara, malai tikka, kastori kababs. In main course we had biryani which was ok ( more spicy). However the gravy dishes - chicken lassuni and amritsari were quite good. Must try is basket roti with flavorsome roti varieties. Portion size is ok. Staff and service very cordial and ready to serve even at off hours. Oveall experience very good !
The look and feel of the restaurant is unlike any other in the area to be really honest but the taste and service is at most average. The best thing i had was the pre appetizer roomali papad and the rest is it was pretty average. Personal opinion don't go for butter chicken it was way too sweet for a main course.
This place gives you that cold inhospitable feeling. The staff and the owner have an air of gloom around them. Its like the place lacks the buzz of a great food place where customers are enjoying the food and drinks and making merry
Food is good but the only frown is they are heavily priced, really heavy. Good liquor selection..they got some premium Whiskeys decked up
The tables are small with tightly placed chairs allowing little elbow room and the waiters will insist that a group of 5 of 6 not use a table for 8 even if is empty!
Let's just say that if your Friend/Colleague has been ranting about the place then you must visit and see for yourself.
It was a good experience going here. We ordered a chicken peshawari and a prawns masala and naan with it and jeera rice. And the best of them was prawns masala and tastes best. But the chicken peshawari was also good. The naan was a bit chewy, okay. The place is decent to have a meal with your family or friends.
Peace ✌🏼️!
We team of company from Mumbai jumped surprisingly looking for restaurent at 3:30 PM. But must say overall the place is good. Good and sumptuous food ..
Loved it...
Aha after trying so many places, found a good Punjabi restaurant. Took my team for a lunch on a weekday. Ambience is good, menus is really good they have very good options. Starters were excellent, were tried Paneer and cheese starter both were good. Main course was amazing. Had to admit a real good Punjabi restaurant with authentic taste. But the prices are too high, 4 people bill with only starter and food was 3K, one could easily opt for buffet with many more options thus 4 star otherwise if you're looking to taste some good Punjabi food in Pune this is definitely a must visit place.
In conversation with my better half
Why have you brought me here...
Apparently they serve really good Punjabi food, have a complete family crowd and service looks surprisingly good with the staff seemingly without any fancy hotel management degree. We had to wait for our table, so it seems its quite popular too.
Decor looks quite regal no...
Yeah, had seen this place usually passing by and seemed quite fancy from outside. The interiors seem better than outside I must say.
But such a Clichéd name...
This is a chain and anyways What else do you expect when the owner is a sardar ;)
OK let's order, what are you going to order...
Let's have those funky looking big Ass masala papad styled thingy, a beer for me and a ginger lemon for you, also Punjabi restaurant mein aye n tangdi kabab nahi khaya to khaya. Also I feel like having some succulent mutton with Roti and Pineapple Raita to neutralise the spice.
Hmm Good Choice...
(After 15 mins)
What? They have started serving food already, that's freakin fast...
Yeah, guess too many people waiting outside, let's see if the food lives upto the build up.
I love this Tangdi, superbly cooked, juicy and we'll cooked...
Masala Papad is superb with the beer, but my kebab is burnt. That goes 1 rating point Mr.
OK so he served all of the order together, my Roti has gone cold while I was enjoying my Kebab...
Never mind, taste this Mutton gravy, superb! Mutton pieces look overcooked though, has left the bone and has become like keema. Never mind, Roti is going superbly with the gravy. Nothing in the Raita to write home about though. Just run of the mill.
OK so we are done with the dinner in less than hour, fast food eh?
Lol, I was hungry anyways. Certainly not a place to hang out in, but decent food.
They shouldn't have charged a service tax...
Hmmm, at least the mouth freshner is good. Altogether, not a bad place at all but I think I have had better food.
Was there on 30th Jan(dry day) in search of good North Indian food and I'm happy to share that I wasn't disappointed at all. We were the first one to enter this place at 8pm which was bit strange.
Ambiance: Good BAR type setup with unique water flowing on mirrors which was kind of beautiful for me. Walls are well decorated and place is well-lit. They have 3 sitting areas. One outside open area, inner bar area and one small section on 1st floor(which was not operational at the time I visited but would be ideal if you are on a date).
Service: Since there wasn't anyone else in restaurant, we got the quickest service.
Food: Ordered Manchow Soup, Bhindi Aloo Fry, Daal Tadka, Butter Naans and Steam Rice. Soup was delicious and perfectly made. Was served HOT. Bhindi Aloo fry was something we opt for trying and again cooked nicely. All other items were decent and tasted like authentic North Indian.
Though I would like to try more items and share the service status when it is fully crowded. But all in all a decent fine dining place.
Food: 3.5/5
Ambiance: 3.5/5
Service: 4/5
Cost for 2: 700 bucks
Recommended!
A damn classy restaurant with a variety of yummy and tasty authentic North Indian food! Kebabs are the best and are a must try. Main course includes awesome rich Indian gravies both in veg and non veg. Overall a great tasting experience!!!
Nice ambiance, went in 31 dec.nice crowd. Food little bit salty specially soup.awesome collection of prawn and crab.nice collection of alcohol for brink connoisseur .little costly .
A good restaurant, with a good service and good food as well as a very nice and simple ambiance and yeah you can booze there as well as its a bar cum restaurant.
Don't ask me how the food tastes as from Brand Like Great Punjab one expects nothing least than the best taste..
Service is another plus point at the place, quick, friendly.
Ambience is average, probably they can make it more lavish experience
Cost ;- doesn't fit the pocket, need more to spend more ;)
Try Dal Makhni, peshawari and Dal khichdi.
The only reason it doesn't top my list as u dnt feel comfortable with yourself once you get up from the chair. The food inside you still makes it presence feel , its too heavy ;)
Restaurant chef, pls try to make it much lighter to make us feel better with your food.
Wanted to have a quiet and peacefull meal, when i decided to drop by this restaurant in baner road.
The hotel front side is of a water drooling down from glass window, which made me want to try this restaurant out.
So i went in and ordered chicken tikka kebab for starters with a manchow soup.
The manchow soup was indeed an awesome one! honestly I didn't expect it to be this good actually as I was in a typical punjabi restaurant.
Their chicken tikka was an amazing preparation and the pieces were marinated very well and tandoored perfectly.
The main course was chicken curry was one that was suggested by them and i went ahead for it, but it didn't taste really well.
Apart from the main course chicken curry, everything else was good enough for a fine dine and the service was quick too.
The food here is very nice ....
Makki di roti and sarson ka saaag is awesome here and recommend it for everyone and even the moong ka halwa
Pros
Food taste
Service and
Ambience
They have branches in kp and Mumbai also
Cons
Cost it is a bit costly and the price goes on higher side
Well if there is any place in Pune that comes close to good North Indian food, it's this one. Sad that there aren't many. Do not miss having the Kali daal here. It's the one to die for and they don't come any better!
Very nice restaurant with nice quality off non veg food which will not create burden on your digestive system, the taste complete North Indian wearing you can get brown gravy thus if you want to eat nice non veg and without any burning sensation then its best place where in you can eat in just 500 rupees for two person
Great punjab was on the list since a month on a friend's suggestion. Finally made it last week.
The place is appealing from outside, a nice water drop on the front glass welcomes you.
The best part is alcohol by quarter (nip) system. Its a rare thing in a family restaurant and bar.
Food order was as follows:
1. Chicken banjara kebabs (Starter): Soft and juicy chicken, mild spicy and perfect.
2. Paneer seek kebabs (Starter): Did not try personally, but a friend said it was decent.
3. Paneer lasooni (Mains): Nice lasoon (garlic) tadka with soft paneer.
4. Daal makhni: very sweet, room for improvement.
5. Rotis: Soft with looods of butter.
Negatives: Slow service. Their service needs to be improved drastically. There was only one waiter to cater around 10 tables. It took 30 minutes for him to serve a chopped onion. Fortunately the place was not full so he could manage, but during rush it would be a nightmare.
Overall a nice place, light on pocket and a family bar.

+3.5
The place is over priced when it comes to veg cuisines. Good for non veg lovers. The ambience is perfect for fine dinning with family. Do not visit there if you have a large group of friends..!! The service is not that brilliant. The only reason I would recommend to go there is for the non veg cuisines. They need to work on their service.
The restaurant was difficult to find, as i was new to the city! But the ambience, interiors wer mind blowing!! I love north indian food❤️so had high expectations! And they didn't disappoint me, the food was mesmerising the quantity was unexpected!! And reasonable rates too! The staff is aso very kind n polite!! I liked everything about the restro!
A place with high quality food, be it kebabs, breads or Biriyani. Don't forget to try mutton Biriyani. Garlic naan with any kebab is great try. Veg option also good though I'm not a veggie, I've enjoyed kadai a lot & dal.
Good ambience & welcoming staff!
Great food great service . I asked for LIT which happens to my fav drink and they suggested chakk dey fattey which was good. Veg platter was nice and so gas the food which included Kadhai paneer , dal makhni and veg kofta.. Nice experience over all
Visited this few years back. Though a big restaurant on Baner road, ambience is very good. But expectations on food was not met. It was simply not f my taste. So won't be visiting this again
Food is good, not that great.. Place is average
Service - good
Overall we can visit this place for quick food and good taste...............
Visited yesterday and writing fresh review. We had gone to Baner for window shopping and were searching for better place for dinner. Found this one so decided to taste it!
# Location
Located on main Baner road near Cosmos bank. Hotel name is hidden behind a tree so look for Cosmos bank. :)
# Ambiance
Nice decorated walls and roof. Roof is very high so feels spacious. I like high roof restros
# Food
We ordered Chiken Tikka as starter, which was very good, soft and tasty. It was medium spicy. So for main course, we decided to order spicy food. We asked for Paneer Peshawari which is called as North Indian specialty! Tried new item as Pudina Paratha, which was a bit hard than expected. To our surprise, paneer peshwari was sweet and not at all spicy. Did not like it much! Also, food is overpriced.
# Service
Full marks to service. Waiters were apt and responsive.
To summarize, I have mixed opinion about this place. I will visit second time to confirm on something. :P
One of the best Punjabi food in the town, well behaved management team and brilliant spread of authentic Punjabi cuisines. A bit on the expensive side but the quality of food offered is definetly worth giving this place a try...
Been to this place couple of times now.. And it has not failed to impress me. The restaurant has good ambience. The staff decent and the most important their food is awesome..had chicken biryani and veg biryani. Both of them were just delicious. They need to improve of availability of desserts thought specially in summer season. Ignoring this, rest of the experience was good.
It's a great restaurant to satisfy your taste buds, especially if you're a chicken lover like me. The ambience is good. The service is great. It's just a wee bit expensive, but I guess the overall package offered by this restaurant balances it out. It's often crowded during the weekends, so I'd suggest to go early and get your reservations done.
This place is bang opposite to Baner Road Petrol pump. A nice place to grab a lunch or dinner with team. Visited this place for first time almost 5years back, for our first team lunch. Did visit this place after that for couple of times. Nice option at baner road if you want to grab Punjabi food. Have not visited this place since last couple of years, would love to try sometime soon, as my office is back on baner road again.
I've always craved for good authentic North Indian cuisine in Pune and this place hasn't disappointed me ever. I've been here a couple of times before but never posted a review. To keep it short and simple I would say this place has some really good finger licking dishes. The ambience is warm and cozy. The service is prompt. Prices might seem to be a little on the higher side but the food is worth every rupee spent. You might have to wait a little for a table if you haven't booked in advance. In the heart of Baner, this place is a must try for all food enthusiasts. It's a place to spend a good time with your friends and family. I would love to recommend this to all
Want a lavish place to visit with friends and family this a place you are looking for, great food tasty starters great service .Chill around have great variety of drinks.
must visit this...
Well place is nicely decorated. Waiters n others are good in service but food prices are really high. If you compare food with price its nothing exceptional. Liquor prices are more than double. Well I would recommend this if you are more into ambience than price.
Simple, Small & Decent place. Prefer sitting up for faster service.
Delicacies - Chicken Tandoori, Banjara Kebab, Chicken Malai Kebab, Chicken Peshawari Masala, Chicken Amritsari and few more..
Everything reasonable and worth it !
Overall experience was good. But prices are on the higher side.
A perfect place to sit around with friends /buddies and have a gala time as ambience is perfect to match the space and decor plus orders get served on time along with drinks. We liked it as you say - " Cosy Corner " with music around of TV plus public.
“As good as it gets… for value seeking people”
It is one of the establishments located on Baner Road (near only petrol pump) which has following plus points… close to north Indian food, serves both veg and non-veg, has a bar, will not burn the pocket.
Ambiance-
Very basic ambiance with relatively aging furniture, low levels of illumination, closely packed table (no privacy)… but if you go there with only purpose of eating… does it really matter!!!
Menu-
Long menu with locally popular north Indian preparations. Yes! They serve Indian Chinese as well!!!
Food I Tried-
Tanduri Chicken Half (195): No point going to a Panjabi hotel and not having tandoori chicken!!! Common red-brown colored, little glazed (not dripping), with touch of chat Masala taste Requested for more chat Masala to make it the way I like it. Nice.
Makai Roti (35): Nicely done, crisp yet tender! Warm and easy to chew. Only issue… it had too much of wheat flour so that it does not stick to rolling pin (told by kitchen staff).
Sarson Ka Sag (190): Dark green, thick, full of butter and oil, less on bitterness, not very spicy, suitable taste for winter. It was decent.
Service- Good.
Total Rs 514 (24 Tax).
Overall, the food was decent to average (not bad).
Ambiance: 3
Food taste: 3.5
Food quality: 3.5
Service: 4
Value for money: 4
Overall: 3.5
(If you are confused which one is this out of two with same/similar names on Baner Road; google map it. This one is near BP petrol pump. This one has a water curtain on front glass)
Good service. We ordered chicken tikka masala and butter chicken and both were finger licking good. Appetizers were also nice. And the ambience was great to make it a perfect evening.
Nice food. Ambiance is also good. Ask to make food spicey in case u want ur food spicey. dishes we tried were not spicey enough. We visited during weekday afternoon and got table immediately, on weekends, however, reservation might be required.
Chicken makhani is just awesome, the ambience is decent and the perfect place to have dinner with your family or friends
We dined in once here. I would say ambience is pretty average.
Food was good. In fact it was v reasonable in price.
We ordered Mutter Paneer and Chicken Seekh Kabab.
Both were pretty awesome.. 4/5.
But going by our dine in experience we ordered same food for home delivery but this time
mutter paneer were pretty average in fact it had lot of spices.I would rate it 2/5
Sinply loved their preparations. A recommended place for fine dining in the area.A better place for non vegitarians
The reasonable rates and the quality of food is fine.. but the best part it that the palce is open well beyond 3 pm , so if you late for lunch you can surely grab a bite here... all in all ok place .. if you hungry and want to grab a beer in BUDGET :-)
