On the table is Chemmeni fry, Buff fry, Parotta and Appam.
Chemmeni in Malayalam means prawns. The fried dish has that real authentic taste. Fried in coconut oil, with bits of coconut pieces and mixed with the satiating flavours of curry leaves. It's a dish worth trying here.
Buff fry is also very authentic, made in coconut oil, but the buffalo meat is very chewy, after s point of time your mouth may feel tired but your tongue would want more of that proper south Indian fried masala.
Parotta is the popular Kerala paratha. It's has been kneaded and braided so well that you will find several layers of paratha while you try to ter it apart. That's the sign of true Kerala paratha. Appam is as simple, soft and as beautiful thing you may find to compliment with the prawn fry or buff fry or any curry dish.
Their portion size is less but definitely of you are looking for authentic Kerala food, this is the place which will not let you down in terms of their real authentic taste.
Hii.. iam from surya hostel, baner. we wish to hav fud from your hotel. But now its unavailable at our area. Its a request to you that make it available at our area plz...

It's been more than 5 years I am visiting this place. Best place for authentic Kerala food, my fav is Buff Biryani, Buff fry, Sulemani Tea, and most of the things they serve. All the things they share are authentic and you feel satisfied owing to their price and taste ratio.
Amazing outlet in pune for some authentic kerela food.
I had sadhya the traditional kerela thali it was loaded with majority of all varieties required
I had chicken roast masala with some lachha paratha. Infused with curry leaves and coconut it was amazing in taste and colour
They also had banana pakoda which you wont find easily elsewhere.
Overall amazing experience. Sitting place is open though usually covered in shade.
Good taste, good quality, good hospitality!👌
This is one of the lovely hotel for keralites in Pune the hotels kitchen are same and similar taste. If you want to have veg thalis etc in typical kerala taste, this is the blind choice. The owners of the hotels are good in multiple languages and thier service is excellent. This place is a really hardcore mallu restaurant, the food is real authentic and tastes aweosme. The mooru vellam is my favourite drink here and the taste which you get here reminds me of one's that i used to have at my hometown. They have even started a store where they had their old shop right next to the new one, please do visit that too, you get amazing topioca chips, pure cooking coconut oil and much moreIt's just wow like place. When you can't visit Kerala and have taste their food, so simply go to this place and dine out. Near about Kerala special dishes are avialable here. Special festival food also they offer. Sulemani tea is so great to tatse. Appam and parotha like yummy. Small restaurant with great quality. Outdoor seating avialable. Prices are so so reasonable. Loved it
Good authentic keralite food
I love their buff fry and parota, which is a must try I would say it is not a very overrated place but a very cost-effective restaurant per say..
Perfect Kerala Dishes !!!!!!!!
Every Dish is worth try. Things I have tried :-
1.Chicken Fry (4.5/5)
2.Chicken Biriyani (4/5)
3.Chicken Kappa Biriyani (4/5)
4.Appam (4/5)
5.Buff Fry (4.5/5)
6.Chicken Meals (4/5)
Had ordered kadala curry and veg meals from this place
Kadala curry:
The kadala curry didn't taste that good. They DEFINATELY must improve on taste and prepare the dishes with a little less OIL.
Veg meals:
The veg meals contains of Kerala brown rice, sambar, dry sabji and normal sabji and papad. The rice is nowhere near the normal rice one prepares here in maharashta. They are very unique and look very delicious. The veg meal is authentic Kerala meal which is available in South. I can vouch from the taste that this is the same exact taste that is made in the local restaurants in southern India. The sabji also tasted very good and is prepared in southern style.
One should definitely visit this restaurant for the authenticity of the dish.
One of the restaurants which has limited menu but knows how to prepare each and every dish unlike other restaurants which have a long menu and their dishes are pathetic and only for namesake purpose.
Quantity:4/5
Quality: 5/5
Packaging 4/5
Taste: 5/5
Cost: 3/5
Best authentic kerala dishes in Pune.
Buff masala roast with kerala porotta is a must try..
Sardine (mathi fry) and tuna (choora curry) keeps its authentic taste and we can feel the freshness of fish..
Have always ordered out. Has always delivered good food.
The fish fry and chicken fry have the beautiful aroma of fried in coconut oil.
The favourite is the buff Kappa Biryani followed closely by the buff roast and parotha. The appams some days come great while other days is just about ok.
The Biryani is good.
It has always being a good bet.
Never been to the place, so cannot comment on the service.
Would go with 4.5, but since that's not available am going with 5
Never tried keralian cuisine before. Ordered in the buff biryani along with a buff curry. Quantity is sufficient. The buff pieces were succulent and a lot of it is in the biryani. The biryani is spicy probably with the kerala spices and I loved it. The curry was equally good and spicy. Open to suggestions on what to try next.
Amazing food, very fast service. The only thing not good was that there were many insects there. Food and service was best. Prices are fine, however quantity of chicken (in chicken masala roast) was less as compared to price. It was really a delightful evening.
This quaint joint I can assure serves some of the best Kerala dishes you can taste. If you are upmarket it is advisable to order parcel but if you are an afficionado of just great food drop in to taste the heavenly buff roast or sukkha, for non buff eater chicken roast or sukkha and be ready to have the burst of spices fulfilling all your gastronomic sense. To go with it the parottas and the appam, just a treat.Down forget to drown it with the Matta(buttermilk).Recommended for sure.Extremely pocket friendly.A big meal will not cost you more than ₹250
Food is 👌 (starting from the basic kerala thali to biryani and everything else) and quantity is great as per price. Plus, clean ambience and friendly staff. I visit the restaurant atleast twice a week.
Had to wait for the meal a bit as the food was being freshly prepared, until then had chicken fry which was cooked in coconut oil and had great taste.Waiting for the meal was also worth as it turned out to be great and fulfilling.
It was my first stint with Kerela's cuisine and it was good. I had chicken fry, chicken curry, parottas and appam. All dishes were good except for appam, It's just that I felt Appam's batter was stale and sour. But, I'd like to come again, It's value for money.
too much kadala in kadala curry ,not enough gravy
otherwise tasted awesome
Craving for South Indian food??? Well, you can satisfy your craving here. This place serves south i dian dishes which are worth drooling... I loved their fish thali.. You get everything in one thali and its worth it.
Awesome food. The Buff fry was simply superb and just like what I've eaten in Kerala. The other dishes also very very good. We ordered Buff fry, Chicken roast curry, Chicken curry, KP, kotthu egg paratha, appams and butter milk. Everything was very good. Great job in keeping the food authentic! Only thing I'm wondering is why brown rice not served separately? Would be great if that was available also separately, not only as part of mini-meal.
After a long time I ate Awesome Kerala food.. I just loved it.
Hole in the wall join with authentic Kerala food... Not the best ambience... But flavorful food... Food can be spicier so if you have a low tolerance for spice... Plz avoid... We tried the below on our multiple visits:
1. Chicken fry
2. Fish curry
3. Chicken curry
4. Chicken biryani
5. Appams
For the price... The quality and taste is worth it!
We ordered in from Zomato. The food served from Kerala Fast Food was really nice in taste. The chicken fry, the kotu porota. Kerala paroto and the chicken masala roast were really amazing in taste. Each and every dish had a very distinctive flavour in it. The curry pata and coconut oil combination was put in into every dish in a perfect quantity, which made all the dishes really delicious. And special mention about the spices. They were really flavourful.
The buff fry as described by my friends is amazing and goes well with the Kerala porota.
A small, cozy place which provides Kerala food as authentic as you can get in Pune. Their selection is limited, and many of the popular dishes like Dosa and Idli are not served.
However, the food that they do provide is of good quality and well worth the price. The waiters are reasonable and the service is decent. Considering that Pune has a limited choice of authentic south Indian food and an even restricted availability of Malayali food, this is one of the best bets that you've got if you looking for the same.
it tastes great. I think there may be no better option to eat fish at these rates.
Taste was good, but was expecting more pieces of Fish
I am a huge fan of authentic food. and that brought me here.
this place serves awesome kerala food.
awesome chicken gravy. this is must try.
In the veg kerala meal, authentic kerala rice is served. so feast on their kerla curries and meals.
Thank you for the quick service and the minimum order, I ordered parotta and buff fry and it reminded me of my mom when I was younger, the way she made the beef fry. 😋 But the parotta was good but it could get much more rich you could try and see the how kerala Cafe makes them to help you improve the quality of parotta you make 🙂. Last but not the am a big fan of this place for many year and I have recommended many people to this place and continue to do the same. Keep up the great work team!!! 🙂
one of my favourite llaces i like to visit it regularly.
It is bang on the road .
the rates of the food are cheap, the quality of the food is awsm. one must try appam and chicken fry over here. the gravy of the chicken masala is also great . all in all if u are a foodie this is a nust go place.
One of my all time fav place. I always take parcel coz this is not place to sit and enjoy. Very small place it is but whenever u need urge for Kerala food, I recommend to go there, take parcel and enjoy delicious food at ur home for very less price.
Okay. A mallu guy rating mallu outlet will be biased...but this is not that case.. may be the taste and the condiments wont attract anyone other than keralaites... but yes...if you are craving for some authentic kerala taste...this is it... good amount of portion... perfectly blended nd cooked meat..
even aftr hours of eating ....i can still feel the Essence of it...
the restaurant doesn't have that ambiance its jst a eatlery...not a fancy restaurant...
but nothing beats the authentic kerala taste of it
Yummy food. Made fresh, and without hassle. Tastes like what Kerala food should be like - the fresh smelling Appam, beef fry or the Aviyal. Loved eating here. 1 Star less for the ambience and location.
You have heard about the famous porotta and chicken roast, and that is what is famous here. A little over priced but tasty and maintains the tradition. Also ordered thali but it was not what I expected (I. E) the typical plankton leaf thali, it came with the typical kerala rice and one sabzi with sambar and another kolambu, hope they improve the veg thali part.Even the lesser the quantity the taste was good enough. Chicken and porotta here is all set to rock the people of pune, it's worth giving a try.
I think of home when i visit this place. Authentic taste of kerala. Have been a regular for 5 years now but the quality hasn't changed a bit. A treat for my taste buds. Can't wait for the onam Sadhya
Quality & Quantity Both Are Good
Taste Also Ok
And Food was Less Spicy
Amazing tasty authentic Keralite food. Each bite of appum and chicken curry reminded me of the God's own country. A must visit if you love Keralite food.
"Authentic".
Just this one word is enough to describe the food here. The restaurant is located just a few blocks away from the Aundh Gaon bus stop. A perfect place for people to stop by and get a quick grab.
The restaurant is non-AC. There is no cash counter. There are no waiters. You may get frustrated waiting for someone to come out of the kitchen and take your order. But all this is quickly forgotten by the food which they serve here.
The food is hot, fresh and delicious. I come here mostly to eat fish - which they cook very nicely and in the typical Malayali style.
This time I had ordered Kerala Fish Meal. It had rice, dal, 2 vegetable dishes - one dry and one wet, fish curry, papad and mango pickle
No doubt that this is one of my fav places to eat fish in Pune.
Oh! I forgot to tell you -- the rates are damn cheap.

Awesome place for authentic malyali food. Visited twice and looking forward to visit again. Cheap prices. Fish is good. So is the chicken and mutton curries. Try the pottu(baked rice with coconut) and the appam with curries. Bliss and heaven of spices. Food is not unnecessarily spicy. Fish fry was pretty good among starters.
One of the few outlets to get good kerala food in Pune ... the taste of the food would earn them a 4 easily, but the pricing would take some out of it as it’s bit on the higher side.
The ambience is typically of a small fast food joint and never expect a classic resto feel as there is none such serving kerala food in Pune. So the tag line is just go and enjoy the taste.
Good for the beef roast, kappa biriyani, chicken curry, fish curry and appams.
Very small crunched place but amazing kerala food.. fish fry.. buttermilk..tasty meat..appam n egg curry.. the main speciality of this place is the suleimani chai..must have it is.. will visit this place again
A simple and small place with some good food. Tried it multiple times, the fish was different each time.
Would have liked the pompret in the preparation, though it is not a part of the menu, maybe it could be added.
Tried the egg masala as well and it was good
The service is prompt and quick.
Awesome Kerala food... For a malayali in Pune.... This is a good place to go n get the taste of home... Tried porotta, beef curry, beef masala, rice place, fish curry and fry... Everything taste really goods but the most amazing thing is sulaimani...
Previously this place was named Kerala Fast Food, now its name has changed to Kerala Spice. Location is the same though, just that they have shifted from one shop to another.
We tried their famous Buff Fry, Fish Curry, Appam's, Parotha, and Chicken Biryani. What disappointed us was their Fish Curry because it was too sour we couldn't eat it properly. I will give the buff fry 5/5 rating. It was too good and mouth-watering. Appam was better than parotha that went well with the sour curry. Chicken Biryani was okayish. They have a small seating area of about 7-8 small tables. The price is very reasonable. The ambiance is not appealing but definitely a good place if you are craving for some authentic South Indian dishes.
#HappyFooding :)
I like Kerala food so I went here, menu book was not needed as there were only few items available. I order some chicken dish, appam, egg biryani, chana masala. Taste was good, but I went there with some high expectations.
Coming to things other than food, horrible ambience, small and shabby place. I think it has only 2-3 table
This place is good for near by people and for home delivery.
My Rating is only for the food
Being a Malayalee, I enjoy going to this place. It is One of the few places in Pune which serves the delicacies of Kerala, especially the chicken fry among other items. Porotha and chicken curry is something everyone should definitely try once.
It's a quaint, nondescript eatery in Aundh. I went there on a Friday afternoon and had a little difficultly locating it even though it's on the main road. It has a limited seating capacity so might get crowded easily. Don't visit if you are very particular about look and feel of a restaurant. But the food they serve is authentic Kerala food. I tried chicken masala roast and parotta. Chicken masala roast was very good and authentic, no artificial flavours and color. Parotta was hot and crispy. I also tried the fish fry which was good. I am pretty sure they serve beef but couldn't figure out why they haven't mentioned it in the menu available there, although it's mentioned on Zomato. Go there if you have a charm for different cuisines or love Kerala food. Planning a sure second visit to try other items.
Our best resource for homly food... Malayalathil order chaid malayalathil sora paranj ... Malayalikalkidayil irunn... malayala thanima ulla food kazhikan best sthalaa.... Veegam vitto... Mmala ella items um aada kitum...😝😝😝😜😜😜
Had heard about this place from my boss and hence decided to visit the place. I am a fan of roasted buff meat. So had it with kerali parotha and also tried their fish fry.. that was superb. just loved it. kerali rice meal was also full tasty. with brown rice, sambar, south indian pickle, rasam,kheer,chaas.. service is fast. Ambience is ok.
Small joint but give u great Kerala food.. Once taste and it made me a regular customer of this outlet.
Price is little high, but for the taste it is reasonable..
A small joint near my place that serves really awesome kerela food.
We'd order the veg thali, porrota, appam, puttu, chicken masala roast, and morru.
I, personally loved the appam and puttu. Not even once did I devoid myself of the pleasure of its company. This place is highly recommended if you're a foodie and a little curious to try out new flavours.
Tried Veg Thali, Chicken curry with appam.
Though it's a small place but good enough to get a glimpse of Kerala food. Loved Chicken Curry (must try).
Its a small joint .. yet an awesome place to have kerala food if you feel like you are missing the kerala food.
Being a person who enjoys eating good food .. i personally liked this place, the food tasted awesome we had like 3-4 sets of appam and porotta with buff fry, fish curry, kadala curry, vegetable stew ,kappa biriyani, chicken curry(it was not upto the level though),kappa biriyani(awesome must try),butter milk and ended the whole thing with having a sulaimani which even tasted awesome..
And the good thing is the price was very much affordable.
I would really visit this place more often now.
Small seating area wit a gr8 fud having an amazing kerela taste. We had kotthu porrota and chicken fry. I really enjoyed the kotthu porrota which had the amazing blend of porrota, egg and chicken but the chicken fry which came later was overcooked and bcoz of that it had become harder and also the pieces that were fried hardly had muscle part and it costed me Rs 100 which is very disappointing but the other dish ws very different and tasted yummy as I had anything made in coconut oil for 1st tym and I really liked it.
It's a very small food joint but the food out here is amazing. Kerala food is very unlike what we usually refer to as South Indian food. It is pretty spicy and the parathas are much like the north Indian laccha paratha. Beef fries are also available here even though it's not mentioned in the menu. Do try out the lemon tea after your meal.

I was looking for Authentic Kerala dishes and my craving were satisfied at this restaurant finally..
I had "Chicken Roast Masala,Fish Fry with Appam and Kerala Porrotta(don't confuse with Parantha) and Sulemani Tea"..
It's JUST AWESOME.. Perfectly cooked ,no added colors, perfect balance between ingredients..
Owner of the restaurant is very friendly person , sometimes on peakhour the services are little slow ,but that's fine..
Looking forward to visit this place again. .

Visited this place on a Monday evening. The place is pretty small and a tad bit shabby with very limited seating arrangements. We ordered a Chicken Biriyani and a Kerala Fish Thaali. The chicken biriyani was absolutely delicious and had the perfect blend of spices and flavour. I didn't like the Fish Thaali though on the other hand. Maybe because it was the first time I had tasted authentic Mallu food and it didn't really suit my Bengali tongue. The fish could've been cooked a little more and the quality of the rice used in the Fish Thaali could have been better. Nevertheless, I would suggest this place if you are interested to spend less and eat more of authentic Kerala cuisine.
This little restaurant can give you a ride to Kerala, not in a Kettuvallam (house boats widely used in Kerala) in the backwaters but with the food they cook inside their kitchen. This is a highly recommended restaurant if you are a foodie and a little curious to try out flavours.
The flavours are totally original and they do no adultery in altering the flavours. Be here if you really want to. Because this is a kind of flavour which could be totally subjective and you may not like it at all.
The restaurant gives you little chance to write about the ambience, so I would directly come down to the food. The food to me was good. My order included a chicken biryani and a fish thali. The fish thali was huge and would suffice two persons easily. The rice they serve you with the thali is called Matta rice which I think is a inferior quality of rice they cultivate in their own lands in Kerala. The fish curry which was served was great. The flavour was very new to me, and it took a little time for me to get my olfactory nerves adapting to it. Soon I liked the curry and fish was fresh. The coconut salad was great too.
Coming to the Biryani I loved the aroma of the rice which was oozing out. The chicken had the right spices and in right portions and the technique by which it was made, every thing was perfect with the Biryani. This Biryani is very offbeat and I would recommend this to anybody hitting this place for a quick meal. Prices are very pocket friendly.
The man who runs the restaurant is generous and will help you enjoy your food by initiating small talks.
All in all this is a hidden gem if you are keen to try out food from all around the planet and help you checkmark one on your wishlist without burning your pocket.

Had been here November 2016. The food was great and had authentic flavours from kerala. We ordered A fish fry (Surmai fry), appam and suleimani tea.
The fish was fresh, well marinated and cooked well.
Every bite of it reminded me of my tenure in kerala.
The suleimani tea was simply great.
Me and my friend just wished we could order more but all we had were 3 hundred rupees notes.
I had been to kerala few years ago and was searching for those flavours since then in pune. My taste buds were satisfied at this place. Although we were low on cash due to de-monitization and were carrying cards we couldn't order much.
Will definitely go to this place once again when i have cash. Wish they start accepting cards or wallet payments.
The service is on a slower side but considering the authentic food it is definitely worth the wait.
There is hardly any ambience, it is a simple place with 8-10 tables. The ambience definitely needs an improvement.
Anyways, if you are craving fish and love sea food you have to be here
Went there on a saturday for dinner. Mind you it is crowded on weekends. Had to wait 15-20 minutes to get a seat.
The management and service is very poor but what they lack in service they make up in food taste.
The ambience is simple nothing great, you can see the guy making parrota outside only, adjacent to your table.
We had to wait 10 minutes before someone attended us. We ordered parrotas, buff fry, appam, and fish curry.
Appam was new for me and i loved it.Even he buff fry tasted very different. The fish curry was okay and the parrotas, man I loved it.
The place is very very pocket friendly.
Good Kerala Food , No Ambiance at all...
Food is super good, I always order Thali with chicken fry of beef fry.
Appam is delicious ..
Need good Service and Do not forget to visit before 2 PM for lunch ... Most of the item get over after 2 PM.
Seriously this place can serves u best kerala food.
Very small place and also very low rates.
Proper south indian non veg food.
Food 4/5
Ambience 2/5
Service 3/5
Went in group of 8 people for Onam Sadya at 4 PM on Sunday afternoon.
No parking for 4 wheelers, however you may park opposite side parallel to road.
Had the Kerala Thali on bamboo leaf. The food was yum. With 350 per plate it was little expensive but the taste was nice. Brown rice and coconut Sabji. And to end pyasam and jaaggery based sweet.
Will be visiting again for more dishes here. The owner and staff are very friendly.
Thank u so much for serving the nadan flavoured Puttu kadala curry. Was missing this so much ever since I left my hometown in Kerala.
This restaurant I have heard it from friends. I ll recommend it to people who wants Kerala food.Have tried almost everything. Including meals, fish fry, kuthu porotta. Not that costly restaurant. One of my most visited restaurants in Pune.
I ordered the veg meal because I like only typical veg Kerala food. Food is really good but the location is not good...and ambiance is ok. could be much better....went there with friends....full of fish smell. But can give it a chance because of food.... !!
Place is a lil difficult to locate... Ambience is very average... It is known for South Indian delicacies... Tried chicken masala roast and paratha... Quantity was sufficient for a single person... Taste was also good...
With Vishu around the corner, authentic Malayalee food should definitely be on your mind! So if you're looking to gorge into a mind blasting meal without hurting your wallet, don't even hesitate about heading over to Kerala Fast Food in Aundh! Their prices totally do justice to their dishes! And if you're a meat lover, then you're in for a total treat!! A personal tip from me - start your meal with some sulaimani and end it with some moru (buttermilk). I can guarantee you phenomenal taste and soulful homely authentic food! You can thank me later! Happy eating and happy vishu!
Food is really good at this place, I was very impressed by the dish Chicken Ghee Roast and Parota combination.
The ambiance is not to be taken into account for the quality of food you get. So the food compensates the ambiance of the place!
They also have a store attached adjacent the restaurant which sells authentic Kerala stuff.
Good place for a Kerala origin person or someone who loves their cuisine.
This is a great place to sample authentic Kerala cuisine in Pune, and the prices are very reasonable.
Please note that this is a basic restaurant, so don't expect a fancy ambiance or anything of the sort. We tried the Kerala chicken curry with Appam and Parotta, and it was absolutely fantastic. In the vegetarian section, we tried the Kadala Curry, which was also quite good. The portion sizes were decent considering the price. The Appam was particularly outstanding.
The staff is polite and responsive, and while the hygiene is acceptable, there's room for improvement in the interior. There was a constant smell of fish in the restaurant, which might bother vegetarians a little, but you'll likely become accustomed to it within a few minutes.
Additionally, they have an essentials shop that offers a variety of authentic items directly from Kerala. We tried the jackfruit chips and banana chips, which were delicious. Keep in mind that these items are imported from Kerala, so they are slightly on the expensive side
We had puttu(it is cylinder shaped rice and coconut boiled roll), kadla curry(spicy chana masala) and appam.
All was good.Looks like this hotel is more famous for non vegetarian variety because veg menu only had 4-5 items.
Overall good for a pocket friendly fresh food option.
We ordered Chettinad curry ,chicken fry , parota and some brown boiled kerla rice
Taste was really good ,chicken dry very tasty with a bit different coating
Curry was equally tasty ,worth to go for
First time in my life , i got 2 leg pieces ,in a single curry plate !!!
There is kerla grocery shop next door .Bought some chips from there .
Good food Good service I think could have add more service staffs like one more mallu staff it could be better bit congested but the foods are really good.

3 tables with seating , delivery available too.
Tried Fish curry rice which was tasty , mackerel fish curry.
Also had Puttu with kadala curry my favourite combination .
They serve Sadhya for onam & festivals , have to book in advance
They take orders for Catering too .
A very simple place but good to have authentic Kerala Cuisine. It also has a shop along and you get the best stuff from Kerala here. While my mom and sis enjoyed the food, i had a good time in the shop :)
Whenever we go to Kerala restaurant, it's always like sitting at home and having food prepared by my mother. It's very warm and welcoming here.
Sundays have something special in the dish for you. Minimal charges and satisfactory food! Very heartful customer service. And no, i am just a happy customer 😂
You can get dishes as kerala style here. Taste is average. But I like to go there once in a while.
The grocery store is too good. So many items from kerala is available. I would recommend to visit here.
It has been years since I visited this restaurant during my stay in Pune. That was the first time I tried Kerala food and thanks to them I fell in love with this cuisine.
I tried the below foods
Chicken kappa biriyani,
Egg omlet,
Egg chicken kothu parotta and
Fish fry.
Egg chicken kottu parotta and omlet were good
Sorry to the fact that the chicken biriyani over here can be a tight n tough competition to the paragon (calicut). I recently moved to Pune, exploring through the gully I found this restaurant which is very small , but indeed the kerala dishes like putt n kadala Kappa was a major miss for me...but indeed this restaurant has a unique blend of authentic kerala dishes so far I have tasted, I bet neither Alleppy restaurant, kerala culture nor kerala cafe ( only a good ambience) which is a gourmet is nothing infront of this small
restaurant.
We get here kerala food as well as kerala food products and other Authentic kerala food materials.
Great Food. Full Stop. And then you can shop for goodies from Kerala - chips of all kinds, even the Kerala dhoti is available, Kerala plantains and a whole variety of things.
Covid 19 has made every one undergo some or the other change. Kerala Restaurant too has gone thru ups and downs. But I guess it was for better from customers point of view.
The 42 seater Kerala Restaurant now doubles up as a Kerala Store when the restaurant was closed due to Covid 19 pandamic.
I got a chance to taste the food here last Friday. And yes, I was not a bit disappointed.
Though its a small place, you will get the feel of its Mallu-ness as you enter the place. Strong cooking smell of curry leaves welcomes you in. It serves both Veg and Non Veg.
I settled for a mini meal. Fat rice, sambar were the main hero on my make shift paper banana leaf. Other items to decorate the leaf was greens peas subji, cabbage sabji, strong tasty pickle along with pappadum and buttermilk.
Next time I will be exploring some egg dish here. After having your food you may want to take some Kerala snack if you wish.
For me, its a best new find nearby my area.
Best Run... Authentic Kerala Taste.
And the Kerala super market with Kerala Uncles smile is amazing.
Good place to try beef. One important instruction you should know is this place offers food cooked in sunflower oil too. Just inform the restaurant once you are ready to place the order. Don't forget to try sulaimani tea in the end of your meal. Have good food👍🤘
This is a highly recommended place in Pune if you relish Kerala cuisine. While my colleague has buff, I had chicken roast masala, paratha and appam... The taste just took me back to Kerala. My colleague had buff and he was impressed as well. Only small disappointment is that the leg piece in the chicken had way too much skin. Rest all was a thumbs up.
