Rest ambience...as the name suggests is truely a peaceful place located in farms in city itself...you will find such places out of pune city, they have garden & live bhakri/ chapati stations, staff is nice & overall recommended for visit...one small bad taste experience can be neglected over all those past good experiences...

If you are around Chinchwad and would like to have mutton thali this is the place to have the perfect thali. It's huge quantity and quality wise you will love it. The ambience is great to go with family and try some thali. This restaurant doesn't entertain alcohol so the crowd is kind of good chunk. The special mutton thali that cost 350/- comes with choice of bhakari / jawari and couple of side dishes. Thali is enclosed with Mutton biryani served in cute little Matka's. Lovely place a bit inward locality but once you enter it's a good choice.

Great ambience as the name.. A feel of Ranmala. Food is average. As we were there at 9.45pm the mutton was about to over. We could get hardly peanut sized 4 to 5 mutton pieces. There was a mix of 2 different meat. 2 pieces were chewy and 2 were soft n juicy. Rassa was not good. Bhakri were freshly made on chul. Nice. Pandhara Rassa is limited. Not worth to visit if you are staying far away like sahkarnagar bibwewadi.

We visited this place last Thursday for dinner. I have tried nonveg thali at many hotels but didn't get the taste like homely food but this place is exception.
This place is pretty spacious and clean . Service is prompt.
We visited this place at 6.45pm as we reached there to early, we waited for some time so they can clean up the place .
We ordered masala papad and solkadhi. Solkadhi was fresh Nd tasty . For starters we ordered papalet fry . It was average (cost:280โน).Then we ordered special chicken thali and special mutton thali. Special chicken thali consist of chicken rassa(curry), pandhara rassa , chicken sukka and three chapati/ two bhakari (depends on our choice) and rice. Special mutton thali consist of mutton curry , mutton sukka ,three chapati / two bhakari, Mutton dum biryani and pandhara rassa . Chicken rassa was thick and spicy on the other side mutton rassa wasn't thick but tasted nice. They also provide bolhai(lamb's meat) mutton (as some people prefer to eat lamb's meat) Wean get more rassa if we needed . Dum biryani which came with mutton thali wasn't good. The quantity of chicken pieces were less as per the thali's cost. I like the taste of chicken rassa(curry) .It was a black rassa(curry) which we generally gets at few restaurants in Pune . Overall nice experience.

Search of best thali in Pcmc took me here . Finding this restaurant isn't hard google maps came in handy but the way towards restaurant is pretty scary in night .
Restaurant is pretty big with good seating arrangement and ambiance as compared to a normal thali places in pune . As the timing says we reached a bit early around 6:45 so we had to wait for the kitchen to open up . Whatever they serve is fresh so you have to wait if you want to try anything here . They already informed us that chapati will take time so as solkadhi as it was made fresh and kept in the refrigerator . I tried following things here and my experience was pretty good...

Overall it was a wonderful meal however I won't say it's best in PCMC but it was good .
Poplet Fry - The size of was medium big and the fish was fresh and cooked perfectly . Somehow it didn't satisfy my expectations and I found the marination was lacking the needed taste . It was more oily and the taste was somehow missing .
Special Mutton Thali - It was a wonderful thali . The mutton in everything was cooked perfectly . It wasn't chewy at all . I loved the mutton kheema which was medium spicy with lots of flavors . The gravy was simple and tasty . The gravy could've been more effective if it was more spicy . Pandhra rassa is my all time favorite and it was perfect here . Mutton sukkha was made in black gravy which I personally prefer over the normal one . This thali was simply amazing . The dum biryani was bit off on taste . As I opened the POT the strong aroma of biryani just blasted onto me . However it was burnt more and kept in pot for more time so the flavor didn't help the entire preparation and taste wasn't upto the mark .
Special Gavran Thali - It was just made for me . Perfect thick gravy with zanzanit spicy after taste . The chicken was cooked perfectly . Chicken sukkha was complementing the gravy perfectly . Overall thali was perfect as per my taste . Jeera rice was also cooked perfectly and went good with spicy thick gravy .
Solkadhi - Its highly recommended for everyone who will visit Ranmala . Even if it wasn't cold the Solkadhi tasted outstanding . It was the best solkadhi I've tried so far which tasted amazing even at room temprature . The perfect sweet ,sour and spicy aftertaste just made my dinner more wonderful .
The service here is really good . You don't have to ask for chapatis , the waiter takes care of everything . My experience was good and I enjoyed my meal .

Had been here for typical Kolhapuri non veg thali as it was highly recommended so we ordered chicken & mutton thalis & to our delight mutton thaali was too good. They serve variety of Bhakaris but no rice bhakri available, biryani served with special thali is not that good rather go with regular thali. Chiken thali was usual nothing special neither the taste. Good place if you want to experience a typical Kolhapuri food

For the signature 'Maharashtrian Mutton thali', It is what gets closest to the homely preparation of Non vegetarian dishes as is in the Maharasthrian household.
We had the special Mutton Thali and the Gavran chicken Thali, each come with mutton rassa, pandra rassa, kheema.(Thankfully there was no egg which is a rudimentary addition to most of the nonveg Thalis, maybe it's there to make the Thali look filled) Bhakri's are available option and are fresh and hot.
The pot biryani that comes along the special Thali is not to miss.
Ambience is not much to mention about, yet it is a clean, airy surrounding mostly visited by families.

Every single day I used to drive past Ranmala but never had a chance to try the authentic Gavran cuisine they are famous for. Finally a friend invited me over and I literally jumped on the opportunity to have lunch on a lazy weekend. The place is huge with two levels of seating and a big lawn at the back for events too.ย
The decor is simple and you can see photographs of celebrities with the owner proudly displayed everywhere. You can also have a glimpse of celebrities in the menu card too. That just sets the mood right of a great meal.ย
The menu is simple and its a better option to order the thali each of mutton & chicken to get the better idea of the food. They have special gavran thali option too which comes with yummy biryani & mutton khima.ย
The thali consists of sukka meat (chicken/Mutton), pandhra rassa, gravy with meat pieces in it, rice & options of bhakri - jwaar or bajra. We also ordered solkadhi with goes really well with spicy maharashtrian food. The thin gravy for both mutton & chicken can be little spicy according to the individual so be prepared and if you donโt like it, please tell the waiter to make it less spicy ( I hope they do it). The dry version of the meat was really nice and I enjoyed the flavours of all spices used. The flavour is enhanced by the fact that they use gavran produce instead of broiler. The pandhra rassa has the soothing coconut flavour.ย
The highlight of the meal were the bhakaris, soft and not dry at all. Dum biryani was just there and complimented the spiced up menu.
Overall a satisfying lunch. Please visit if you really like the local flavours of Maharashtra.
I was always curious about Gavran cuisine and so decided to go there with my friend. The food just blew me off. We started with mutton sukka. It was brilliant. Then we ordered chicken gavran Thali which came with two chapatis, two chicken dishes and one of the most amazing things I ever had - pandhra rassa. Pandhra rassa is perhaps one of the best things I ever had in this part of the country. The gavran chicken was very spicy but tasty. The food is brilliant. It has a beautiful rustic ambiance. Must visit to explore maratha cuisine. One request to the management, please keep an English version of the menu card

Aassal Marathmon Jevan......... This is must visit place for Non-Veg lovers. I don't say this very offend, but "Ranmala's Chicken Thali is best in Pune" . I never had such tasty chicken in Pune. And the taste of Rassa is just woow.ย

After giving order, you have to wait for about 15-20 minutes. But, it's worth waiting as the taste is just awesome.ย
