Loved it šš¼š
Amazing food to say the least. Not only great tasting food but also great quantity. The place is not a one time visit restaurant but a regular family get away. Good location, ambience and very nice music. The place will be perfect for Mumbai especially in the burbs. Waiting to see it in mumbai, will be a great success.
I personally love this place....the ambience, the food, the music, everything....
In such hasty schedule of our lives in this city we do need a break !! This place fulfills that ļæ½
I loved it. Having been a die hard Mumbaikar and later a Puneri for some years, Parsi cuisine is something that was a frequent delicacy on my plate. Be it Dorabjee or Goodluck or Vohuman or Koolar or Sasoonian or Britannia.... I have been in love with Dhansak, Salli, Mutton cutlets, Farcha and the Biriyani. Nagpur lacked such a place. But all thanks to The Bawa that now I won't be craving for these items. The ambience is exceptionally good. The food equally amazing. Dhansak is only on the weekend.... So visit here on a Sunday afternoon, especially when the Nagpur weather is merciful in this part of the year and dig into the goodness of bun maska, Mutton Salli boti, chicken farcha, Mutton Dhansak, Mutton berry pulav and the desserts. A must visit if you are in Nagpur.
Last Saturday night (5th Dec) my girlfriends and I went to the B.A.W.A for dinner, sat outside as the weather was amazingly cool but the ambiance inside was quite exquisite too. The food was quite to our liking and ofcourse, we being bawi's it was soul & comfort food for us :)
We all tried something different, from the spicy kheema pao to the scrumptious mutton cutlet pao to the mouthwatering patrani machi and salli marghi. Each dish was a complete meal in itself. We finished with the delicious lagan nu custard. Great place to hang out with friends or have a nice meal with family. Kudos to the team of Yohann Doongaji, Sudarshan Barai, Annahita Doongaji and Rishad Dalal for creating a place so quaint and charming that we Parsi's can take a nostalgic trip down memory lane and revive memories of what we have only heard from our parents from their time, but not really seen!! We had a great time and I am sure you will too. Do visit and check it out for yourselves. :) :)
Woww....what a place for a sweet date!! Loved everything about The BAWA.... #chickenFarcha
#MuttonSalliBotiPaav #iraniChaay #maskapaav n #coldcoffee...a must try!! Loved the place!!
Awesome place. Just loved it. Love the food. Staff is just amazing. Overall 5 stars to THE BAWA ļæ½ļæ½

The food was so good that we ate much more than our capacity :D
Found this fun, quaint little gem in Nagpur. Awesome parsi food, unbelievable hospitality and humor everywhere you look! I wish this place was in Mumbai...I would come here every weekend :)
lip smacking food, a wide array of absolutely stunning non-vegetarian dishes, super cool ambience with a dash of ultimate Bawaness(must appreciate the one behind the interiors). Paper bags stole the show for me!
More power to team BAWA!
First visit to this place today. N had some of the most delicious food in town. Loved the Chicken Farscha! Veg kababs were equally nyc! I have no idea what those lil pieces of bread are called but they were heavenly! ā„ā„ā„ Looking forward to many more visits to this uber-cool place!
Authentic n v delicious parsee food. Young boys Yohan Doongaji n Zaran Bhagwagar n some other helping hands r really putting up a good show. Its a good weekly off for sm ladies too. Thanks Annu for yr hard work too. Luv u all.
It was amazing to spend sometime with the b.a.w.a ' s. Had chicken bon bon, farchas, sali boti, dhansak and lagan nu custard. After a lot of gap had these amazing parsi recipies. Kudos to the team and aunty for such mouth watering dishes. Keep up the good work guys. See you soon. Cheers.
Awesome food luv the pleasant atmosphere and service
Going to visit again soon
Great people great food.. genuinely smiles all around !!
"THE BAWA GANG" you guys rock !!
The vive of the place is amazing and very vintage classic style. The food is really good and they have a good number of dishes to choose in the menu . We ordered a lot of things and were totally satisfied with the service and food. Specifically the place and it's ambiance steals the heart. We ordered mac and cheese , chicken herb rice, fiah fingers and hot chocolates.ā¤ļøšā„ļøšø
My favorite Parsi food place is this.I remember when I took the first bite and went crazy with the taste. They use amazing flavours.Must Must visit place. And the theme of the place is so calm.
The place is good for the people searching for silence and a good ambience.
The staff were very professional, the restaurant owner prepares the food and also takes the feedback from each customer which shows the
commitment towards customer satisfaction.
The Bawa Cafe : Coincidently landed in this cafe, but sometimes coincidence is good..
While entering the place I thot it would be just the regular irani cafe eat and go types.
I was surprised to see a different place then I imagined it to be . As u enter u will get a feel that you are in an Parsi cafe.. The vibe, the decor and the furniture what they have used would give you absolutely feel of the same .. The photos of parsi people on the walls, the photos of parsi restaurants are just amazing to look at.. It has the top floor and the ground floor and some outside seating as well..
The service of this place is that I liked the most..
Everything was perfect from the decor, the vibe , the feel of the place, the service and the most important part the food . Rather food was delicious and we raved about it after getting out of that place ..
I have never eaten a Bun masks pav as soft and fresh as this one..
Chicken Dhansak : This was an amazing dish generally comes with brown rice but my frnd wanted to eat it with white rice so he requested to give white rice and the steward happily agreed .. The aroma of this dish was mouth watering and the rice came with toppings of fried onions which gave more flavour to the dish.. The dish was delicious one must try it.. The gravy was thick and tasty ..Perfect the way I like it..
The kheema do pyaza pizza was lip smacking too ..
The cold coffee came with a steel straw .. what a well though thing .. Loved their cold coffee .. enjoyed it throughly..
The zomato gold did an amazing thing.. everything was reasonable ..
Overall a good place to sit and chill over on some good food..
Peeps do give it a shot I am sure you will love this place if you have taste for good food..
Fresh, tasty and quality food ..
All the best Yohann Doongaji.. Amazing guy himself and great to talk too..
This place ticks all the boxes when it comes to giving you a comforting homely vibe.. itās a typical Parsi house with the the right interior and a wide collection of frames on the wall. The food is quite nice and makes u feel like itās made by this cute fair Parsi aunty (Ghar ka Khanna vibe) all in all a good place.
Definitely a MUST VISIT.
Ambience - simple small cozy place tucked away into Viman Nagar. It's adorned with Parsee art, quotes and there's a nice dog to keep you company. There's some outdoor seating also, ideal for dates!
Food - top notch. For non-vegetarian food lovers, this is a must visit place. We had sausages and pork belly and would not think twice before recommending.
Final thoughts - definitely go through their entire menu! Won't give away spoilers ;)
Amazing concept and ambience.
Proper Parsi food.
I love Aakoori, chicken per edu and chicken salli boti!!!
Pocket friendly and accepts Zomato Gold :)
You enter an old world but neat looking cafeteria and wonder,, Is this somewhere in East Europe ? An excellent backdrop b&w sketch enhances the feel on the left Its uncompromisngly Bawa. Pics of well known Parsis adorn the front wall. Missing is the 'No combing hair...No discussing satta..." blackboard but perhaps that's become passe Instead, there's something new about the quaint community's irreverence to anything serious. You settle down on a circular teak wood marble top table and chairs from your dads era' sturdy, well worn and just perfect to begin looking at the menu which is an interesting choice of offerings for all types of palate. But then, why look at anything but Parsi. So the order is for Sali Keema with pav and a curry rice washed down with raspberry soda from Mehroo Auntie's time. The keema is rather finely ground but the pav is divinely soft. The rice and curry is delicious. We settle that meal down with a' lagan nu custter' ( as the bawas of yester yearĀ would pronounce it but sadly that accent is on the wane with the new gen ) Somewhere along the way the flavour of that original custard has disappeared.Ā With a berry pulao in our carry home we are on our way. Altogether a special experience
Had bheja fry pav, which was delicious.
And brown rice- chicken tal. Taste was good and quantity was enough for 2 people.
Definitely worth a try for Parsi cuisine.
After having a tiring day me and my friend went to The Bawa, and ordered mushroom stronganoff and chicken berry pulao. Well chicken berry pulao is already one of their popular dish but to my shock mushroom stronganoff was good and fulfilling too.. Also their ambience is quite good with soothing music. All together this place made our day worth. Cause of zomato gold it was 300 for 2 people which actually worth it. It's not too expensive if compared with their meal. Also staff are friendly and a must visit place š¤ā¤
Very beautiful ambiance. Itās set up in a bungalow in Viman Nagar. Different level seating and gives u a feel of home. Loved the food and hospitality.
This place serves the best Irani food in the town!
You must try their Irani Thali and Chicken Farcha!!! Along with Rasberry Soda. It's just amazing.
Seating and ambience is amazingly comfy and cool, you will love it if you go there in the evening.
Very nice abienence...very 80' n 90's feeling, definitely gonna make u remember Ur childhood summers. The food was great, if I like Parsi food it's definitely the place to be....n if u love dogs, then pls do visit for chloe.
I went over this weekend only because I had this insane craving for a good Parsi meal. This is also probably the only time I have craved for this cuisine so I had to make sure that I got myself the besr grub. Verdict- I am so glad I visited The Bawa.
Walking into this cute little bungalow in a quiet lane of Viman Nagar immediately had me sinking into this comfort zone that I knew I was going to enjoy. There is something extremely comforting about yellow lights and wooden furniture, isn't it? I am a complete sucker for old school decor. Anyway, point is that it was love at first sight with the ambience.
I ordered for chicken Bon Bonn before the Berry pulao arrived because I suddenly found myself craving for so much more than just a berry pulao. I am glad I made this decision because never have I enjoyed a fried bread patties stuffed with chicken and cheese the way I did here. If I wasn't mindful about my eating, I'd be eating this daily šš¤«
The Berry pulao was 10 times better than what I had expected it to be. Served with gravy this dish was inhaled within a few minutes by the two of us.
And because the ambience was great and the food was so delicious, we decided to order a plate of Salli boti with roti. Needless to say we have had one of the most memorable parsee meals of our lives.
Extra points for good service.
one thing you must note is that while the name signifies a parsi establishment, they also have a separate menu for continental dishes (I am planning to come back for the Pizza) and other cuisines.
I'd definitely recommend a visit here!
I really enjoyed the place. The owner of the place has a pet ,a great dane named Louie. Louie is very friendly and adds to the value of the place.the place is very homely and they offer wider ranges of Parsi food.Very delicious and proper hygiene is maintained.I tried their signature dish chicken farcha which was very yummy.Along with it ,we had barai kabab and the custard pudding which was infilled with almonds and dry fruits.Very tasty. And to add, their authentic sodas jeera masala and ginger were very refreshing and pocket friendly.I am looking forward to my next visit here.
Now for people who know Irani chai and bun maska as a Parsi food( meš¤¦) there is new expert who has destroyed this belief with its impressive menu and authentic taste...
It provides all spectrum of Parsi dishes- Veg, Chicken, seafood, pork... Dhansak is their star dish must must tryš... Also definitely try hummus dishes in any section it's quite unique.... And finally if you think Parsi chai is heaven-sent then do yourself a favour and try their coffee... Coming from tea lover that's saying somethingš...
Beautiful cozy ambiance, enlightening information about famous Parsi personalities and tasty food...
We visited this place today. The quality of the food excellent. They served authentic Parsi food. We tried the Chicken Dhansak and the curry chicken and rice. Our overall experience was quite good.
The Bawa is a great restaurant in Viman Nagar. Recently they changed the menu for good. The manager recommended us to try the ribs with bbq sauce and they were amazing. In the end of the lunch even they gave a rose to my wife to celebrate the women's day. Cool experience. Thanks!
Loved the ambience and food. The restaurant has a nice old Parsi charm. The staff helped us order the right things according to liking. We ordered the Patra ni Macchi Pomfret, Mutton Salli Botti with pav and of course ardeshir lemon soda. The fish tasted fresh and was perfectly cooked. The mutton salli botti was easily one of the best Iāve had so far.
Will definitely visit this restaurant for authentic Parsi cuisine.
Absolutely lovely place. Such a cozy little place. Loved the staff. They have a pet great Dane who is just so cute. We had the Mac n cheese with jalapeƱos, chicken farcha, lemon iced tea and raspberry soda. My favorite was the chicken farcha which was basically fried chicken and it was so scrumptious.
They have many other interesting items on their menu and I'd definitely love to try them on subsequent visits.
Located in streets of Viman Nagar. Polite and friendly staff welcomed us, and the interiors were appealing. They specialise in Parsi cuisine. Chicken Dhansak and Pork chops were very palatable. Will definitely visit again.
I loved the theme and interiors of the cafe. It's picturesque.
I am going again for - veg Keema Samosa which I absolutely loved . It has a filling of soyabean with a spicy touch and raspberry soda complimented it really well.
We ordered chicken too which was quite oily the only problem .
Even fries were too oily.
Which can be taken care of !
Else recommended. Not over priced .
Really great place. Location is fantastic near everything and easy to get to. Food is a bit pricy but tastes amazing and well worth the cost. The waiters are very nice and pleasant which makes the place all the more comfortable. The Bawa
Nice ambiance, food was nice and chicken farcha so yummy all things was very good. I loved parsee food. I suggest to go and enjoy the food. Thank you very much for yummy food.
I'm in love with this place š love the ambience.. Once u enter the place u would not want to leave ā¤ love the food too š it's all about parsi dishes though.. Something different ..a must try
Authentic delicious Parsi food... The best place in Pune for Parsi cusine. Loved the sali boti and the lagan nu custard was out of this world!
The BAWA - Viman Nagar Pune -Whaat A Feeling, Lovely Customer Service, Unbelievable experience,Retro Fashioned Cafe, Superb Ambience Gives you a feeling that you've been called by your old parsee friend's mom to their place for a meal . It's so well made and the food takes you back years down memory lane . They've nailed it I must say . Must visit Cafe and enjoy the Parsi Dishes. I was recommended by the server to have the homi's mutton chops and their parsee styled thin crust bacon loaded š which was out of the world .
Tried the egg on chicken kheema with filter coffee.
Chicken Kheema was perfect in terms of taste and quantity. Had the perfect blend of spices. The pav served along with it was very fresh and soft. It had a little sweetness to it which worked perfectly with the spicy Kheema. Filter coffee was, like normal filter coffee, found it a little over priced but that's just surviving tactics in a competitive market. For 1 chicken Kheema, 1 extra pav and 3 filter coffees, total damage was 483/-
Awesome is the word to describe this place. Was near Viman Nagar and was searching for a breakfast place and this place came up. I decided to try this and the experiment was worth it. There was a not a single dish which I could say were not up to the mark. My 8&5 year old kids enjoyed which is a big tick in the box for me personally. I am definitely coming back to try the parsi lunch here.
Nice and cozy place for an evening outing.
Liked the interiors and food was pretty
good too.
A bit pricey but worth it
Chicken sandwich is a must try
Loved the ambience. Delicious food as well. You can spend hours talking to your friends with no disturbance. Owner and staff is very polite.
Awesome food. Stuffed my self to the brim. Great service and very hospitable staff. Clean place too. Its nothing fancy but the place is just right if you want to have some awesome bawa food. Relived my school days after dining here as I had alot of bawa friend
Ambiance - 4/5
Food - 3.5/5
Service - 4 /5
VFM - 4/5
Superb ambience. The theme is really very impressive and also executed superbly. The place is on 2 storeys. Although its cozy its really well planned. It's a little inside in Viman Nagar and lost in the crowd. However, once you get inside you will be very much like the place. The upper floor is also neatly planned. I am in love with the Ambience of this place. I have separately added a photo of this place as Zomato do remove the Ambience photos from review as per their guidelines. So check them out.
Speaking about the food is tasty too. I had Egg Kejariwal. It was real tasty, plus it was quite a big burger. And it was not one, but two burgers. I loved them. I also had blueberry cake, it was tasty as well. The service was also great. No complaints.
All in all, I highly recommend this place for its ambiance, you should check it out once. I likewise liked the food which I tried, hope that would be the case with you also.
We found this place by accident . We were a group of 7 and on a work trip here in Pune .
We loved every bit of Bawa .
The host was simply amazing and he patiently helped us order .
Donāt miss the Bun Maska here . And trust me , anything on the Menu is nice !!
Well done Bawa
If you love Parsi food, this is the place to eat! You will enjoy it to the fullest. Patra ni machi; irani chai, and Farchas. You must try it and quench your thirst for Parsi cuisine!Cheers āļø
Went to The Bawa very recently with my Uncles family. This place happened to be a "lets try" kind of a joint while looking for interesting places to eat. We reach the restaurant and are immediately taken back by the wonderful ambiance, the layout planning. We then start ordering food, and that arrives pretty much on time on the table. Now, I was kind of skeptical because one, this was a new joint, wonder how would the food taste, two my family is a foodie and we know our food like no ones business. So we dig in and start. After a quiet moment everyone goes, yum yum yum.....and suddenly everyone has their eye on me and saying "Good choice". I was so relieved.Ā But seriously the food was lovely, nice and authentic, and the host was a great hit. Very caring and has some good knowledge about food. I would strongly suggest this place to anyone who just wants to hang out and try some nice Parsi food. The ambiance is great and the place is lively with a lot of pictures and some antiques.Ā "Ek baar jaoge toh fir se jaoge"
Perfect place for traditional parsi food.
Wow ambiance!!
Nuttela Pancake must try.
Many varieties in non-veg food
One of my favourite restaurant in Viman nagar and Pune
Place...awesome. Ambience... awesome. Food..awesome. Hospitality... awesome. No reason to avoid the place. You just fall in love with it instantly. Such a cozy feeling. Perfect place for perfect experience. Would love to visit again. Thank you....
Kudos to the team !
Authentic Parsi food with great ambience. Place to visit often. Reasonably priced menu. Relished spicy Tickoo gosht & it was mouth watering. Your meal will be incomplete without trying Lagan-nu-Custard.
Eatery Name : The Bawa
We have 3 sort of Attitude, Positive, Negative and Parsi whose saying is "Aao Khao piyo ne maja karo!" š
Recently visited diner The BAWA located in Vimannagar.
On The Ambience :
Part of the Parsi charm is their cute homesš” they have such excellent taste when it comes to designing their homes. Even simple Parsi homes look so elegant.
From the interiors to the furniture, everything is a standout... antique furniture etc etc which I can see at The BAWA
We all should agree Parisās love their musicš¶š¶ they dig vinyl recordsš», not these newfangled CDs-VDs šš½ļø-- and possess a huge collection with everything from Mohammed Rafi to Queen.
And the music is impeccably cataloged with the music system, even if was manufactured in the 1960s, in immaculate condition.
The Food :
For starter, we selected, Paneer BON BON, AKOORI, HOMIS Chicken Wings and Honey Chili Potatoes.
Paneer BON BON: delicate patty loaded down with paneer and cheesy white sauce, exceptionally gentle in taste even a little child can have it. In the event that you are Veggie at that point Boss, you can give an attempt.
AKOORI: Try this Parsi adaptation of fried eggs with seared onions, ginger, loads of chili and black pepper, usually served with pav or bread, A simple anda bhurji kind of dish, yet with a Parsi twist. Delectable! #Musttry.
HOMIS Chicken Wings: amazingly, one more form of Chicken wings, yet this Parsi variant was Perfectly tossed with a sauce and pepper, presented with sweet and sour Green chutney which taste Achtung, #MustTry .
Honey Chili Potatoes: normal dish served at another restaurant, with Parsi flavors. even if you dont order you wont miss anything.
From Main Course, we opted, Paneer Sali Boti and Chicken Curry Rice.
Paneer Sali Boti: Mild Paneer with red sauce, a tantalizing treat guaranteed to make any food lover drool.
Chicken Curry Rice: lend of Spicy curry prepared with homemade spices and combo with Rice, out and out plain Food for those when you are substantial with Starters and simply need to go light.
On Cost: Slightly exorbitant to taste Parsi Food in Parsi ambience.
Generally Rating: 3.5/5.
Keep Calm and love Parsi Food !!!
Delivery review -
Ordered twice from this place - once mutton curry rice and second chole Bhature for breakfast.
Mutton curry rice was great !! Remembered homemade food after having this
Would love to visit this place and order from here !
Cute and homely place with an amazing and warm ambience. The decor is beautiful and it makes you feel right at home. The staff is friendly and very efficient and polite. The food is great and the Irish Cream Shake is to die for. It is the perfect place for a quiet lunch or breakfast on a weekend with a friend or a loved one or even by yourself with a good book. I would definitely recommend it to all my friends and will probably be going back soon.
A small row house converted into a Parsi restaurant with typical antique looking wooden furniture and walls filled with photos and fun filled quotes! Yes, this place has been done up very tastefully and definitely gives you the ācome hitherā vibe!
We tried Akoori, Baked Beans on Toast, Cheese Akoori and Parsee Poro over two visits. Both times the food was served hot and without any delay. The portions are filling and delicious.
The staff is friendly and courteous.
My only complaint is about the pricing in the menu. Since I visited for breakfast both times, I was done by 10 am. Both times, I received bills which had different prices than what is mentioned on the menu. In the first visit, the coffee/tea was billed for around Rs 20 more and in the second visit, I was charged for Pav for the Parsee Poro (although the menu said that the omelette is accompanied with a pav or rotli). When questioned (both times), I was told by the staff that charges are different in the morning.
Both the times I raised my concern that there was no mention of separate charges on the menu and neither was there was a consistency in what items are charged extra. I think the restaurant should give a clear heads up to the customer by either providing a separate menu in the morning or by putting a star mark on the current menu and mentioning which items will be charged differently and during what time in the day.
Thatās my only reservation (reduced the rating by one star) about the place. Otherwise, itās a great place with awesome food! :)
Ordered from The Bawa for the 1st time yesterday. Ordered "Baked Kheema" and Bun Maska. The baked kheema was creamy, cheesy and overall terrific. Still I thought it was too bland and soome addition of spices could have improved the taste. In fact I topped it with Tabasco which definitely increased the WOW factor. But this was a great start and I look forward to visiting the place soon.
May I add one more observation? Your cardboard packing did look good but personally I felt that it was not eco-friendly as it was a one time and throw away packing. In future you could consider delivery in a brown paper envelope to be more green. I also thank Zomato for being eco-friendly by including a request box for "Not including cutlery with the order". I feel that this should be compulsory unless specifically requested for.
Overall a very positive experience.
I think parsi food is pretty under rated, the food is healthy and interesting and has a good mix of carbs, protein and veggies. The Bawa Cafe is a beautifully done place, its happy and quirky , service is great, and the food is just awesome. We had the ginger soda, bun maska and mutton sotiboti , and chicken berry pulao.
Really nice ambience, food quality is good. The food presentation is quite appreciating. Veg items are quite tasty and one item is adequate for single person. But for non-veg quantity wasnāt sufficient, thought taste was okay. They have some soft drinks which are really weirdly different but you wonāt be able to resist to try them and will feel craving to order same drink on your next visit. For veg value for money.
Came in for a breakfast, leaving with smiles. Absolutely amazing ambience and food, oh the food. Super delicious. Will recommend wholeheartedly.
This is a casual brunch / dinner kind of place. We had been there for brunch and the food was great, freshly cooked, palatable and well presented. The ambience is subtle and a bit more relatable to a parsi home environment.
The staff was very generous and humble. They made sure that you feel comfortable. You will certainly feel at homeš
They have a delectable menu filled with parsi cusine , I was so confused while ordering cz everything seemed so delicious. We ordered a bacon pizza, salami sandwich, the per edu(parsi-style) along with our beverages .
The salami sandwich is a must try!! #foodbloggerchoice
Bacon pizza is on their special menu,so you can try that as wellš
Per edu was something new for me ,and I really enjoyed a great combination of egg, potato and bun.
In conclusion, you pick anything from the menu and you will end up with a delicious parsi spread on your plate!!
š¤©
Overall, a good meal and a great place to hangout. We will certainly visit this place again.
This pulao is a must have from The Bawa. The berries are slightly tangy and flavoursome and add an awesome flavour to the pulao. The rice is fragrant with all spices and berries.Unique dish to have and definitely different from rest of non-veg pulaos. The chicken is just a perfect addition to the berry pulao.
Crazy! It was amazing. Ordered the chicken farcha coz it was on Zomato exclusive and damn that chicken was nice. For the cost I paid the quantity was good. The coriander chutney was also made really well. Definitely ordering again.
Enjoyed... Must try... Nice experience... Cool place n awesome food... I am going again... And eat all what's there in the menu.... š I highly recommend all to try at least once with family n friend's....
Amazing place.. Awesome food. Great service. had the perfect Parsi New year meal. Never had such well cooked and tasty mutton ever.Best green chutney ever
Great food, good people and smiles all around hold super super true for this amazing Parsi restaurant situated in Vinam Nagar. Courteous staff and great customer service is totally on point. The food is yummmm and the variety is heartwarming :) this place gets a 4 out of 5 because no zomato gold facility and that just breaks my heart a little :/ but I would actually not mind spending in such an experience again and would truly recommend it for all you foodies. The interiors and decor of the place are beautiful. Please have a look at the pictures. Visit "the Bawa" soon for a home like yet different dinning experience.
As a person who has a long standing association with Parsis and their food, I can say that this place was wonderful!
To start off, the ambience employs the nostalgic theme that takes you back in time while paying homage to members of the community who have been successful in various walks of life. The layout is soothing and inviting and both floors are good, depending on whether you want to chill out in the noon or late evening.
Regarding the food, the Chicken Soti Boti was delectable. The mutton chops were meaty and well cooked. Trying the Kid Ghosht was a different experience but the calm creaminess of it made it worthwhile. Don't forget to try the Bailey's Irish Cream shake, although I had it sans the ice cream.
I'm going to go back there again. And again. And again.
Once you've been there, you'll see why.
The Jardalu Ma Murgi was a letdown. Otherwise, great food.
Nice Food , Courteous service & perfect place to chill......Ambience is very good , if u r going with a bunch of friends go for the upper section where u can spend time & enjoy good food......They have different options starting from breakfast till dinner so will suit your appetite anytime u go. Parking is the only problem but having authentic Parsi food in a homely ambience is worth all the hassle āŗļø
Went for a lunch. Food was great ! Would definitely recommend the Pork Sausages in Garlic Butter and the ENTIRE all - day breakfast menu. Food for 2 people came to 930ish Rupees.
Bau j mast!!š I mean too good š¤
Paneer aakoori with rotli...the best...5/5 ( aakoori means bhurji)
Paneer Salli with rotli 3/5
Cheese omlet 3/5 ordinary
Chicken samosa 3/5
Honey chilly potatoes 3/5
Dhanshaak veg or non veg with aromatic rice...10/5 literally!!! Finger licking it was
Specially the rice...it was so nicely spiced...I fell in love with it!
Irani chai ...3/5 good it was but nothing special...an ordinary masala chai it was for me
Lagan nu custard 4/5 delicious!!
Ambience super like ššš
Don't think just visit it at any time of the day...you will love it š
Best parsee food possible in Pune. Amazing quality and quantity. Superb hospitality. Must try. :) Try their dhansak, tried it for the first time, highly recommended.
The Bawa is a great experience for anyone who values ambience, really delicious food and great service. Must try (looks like everything). Loved the poruās.
Why should One try a new Parsi place in Pune? When there are many age-old Parsi places which don't compromise on food.
Well, Bawa Broke my myth on the very first visit itself. Visited this place with my family over dinner.
Ambiance: A well-made place with the good rustic interior done gives a feeling you are entering somebody house for a ParsiĀ fest to gorge upon. Though one should make sure about the parking issue on weekends it gets troublesome to park nearby. Would love if the area while entering is more lit up technically the specials for the day blackboard is not visibleĀ until and unless you give a hard look around.
Food:Ā
The food we ordered Chicken Farcha, Chicken SotiBoti, Chicken Salli Boti Rotli, Chicken Dhansak, Prawn Curry Rice
Chicken Farcha: A single plate of chicken farchaĀ consists of a piece of chicken thigh and leg. I expected the farcha a bit crunchier than what was served to us. But had no remission once I had bitten into it. The chicken was cooked to perfection.
Chicken SotiBoti: Boneless chicken pieces outer covering same as farchaĀ held together with the help of the toothpick. The taste was similar to that of the farcha.
Chicken Salli Boti with Rotli & Extra Rice: The plate consisted of 2 light roti with amazingly executed chicken salli boti. It was how it should have been. The rice was plainly steamed without adding soda or anything which made the food more good to cherish.
Chicken Dhansak: While visually it was not appetising but Oh boy once you start having it you really need to have a self control to stop eating further.
Prawn Curry Rice: I tasted bit of prawns with curry it tasted good to me palette.Ā
Dessert of the day: We took one Laganu Custard and shared between 4 of us. The custard was very good and everyone on the table really enjoyed the taste.
Few Suggestion:
We need to have more traditional parsi dessert rather than having only one option.
About the starters I guess I have already mentioned about it.
Service: The server was a pleasant he made us feel comfortable. Suggested the appropriate dishes for the day so we could enjoy to our palette.Ā
Damage around 2kish for the whole dinner including the taxes.
Overall I would go with 4.5 but due the new rating system cant give them. Please continue the good work.
Would definitely recommend places to others as well :).
A warm a cozy place which serves Parsi food.. a sweet little place with perfect interiors and nice staff. They do not have an ellaborate menu but whatever they have is amazing.
Have never had such delicious veg dishes before. We tried Papeta Per Edu which was a nicely made omlete with potato.. just amazing... Then we ordered Barai kebabs and cottage cheese wheels and they both were to die for...they were so amazing.. and the Paneer aakoori dish in the main course ... And the berries pulao both Veg and chicken are a must try..
Not to forget the flavoured sodas which will remind you of your ccildhood days.. those sweet memories..
They even helped us with a complimentary sweet which was again next level. Just the only thing that needs improvement was the Bun maska.. which does not really feel like a bun maska...
The serving staff was also very nice and served us very well
Iāve been to this place couple of times before and never have been disappointed! Its a cute little place, as soon as you go inside it has that olden time parsi charm, with all the photo frames and bawa quotes.Iāll give ambience 10/5 if that was possible š.
Next comes food which has its own authentic taste and everything is so well cooked. Iāve tried chicken salli boti which is phenomenal with all the spices at right place and gives you the perfect taste , chicken farcha is to die for, berry pulao is also very amazing !
Overall iāll say if you havenāt ate here yet, youāve missed out !
Love this place ! ā¤ļø

A small ParseeĀ themed restaurant which serves Parsi & Iranian food gives you a good 90's vibe with its ambience and will make you feel more revived if you visit this place during lunch hours on a busy working dayā¦
Located at a place which is easily noticeable, just behind Atmosphere 6.
We went in just to have a quick bite, we ordered Chicken SotiBoti which came in ample quantityā¦It seemed a little oily but who cares?!!! more the oil more the taste :D
We ordered Veg Berry Pulav which was a little sweeter in taste but had a good blend with its flavors, aroma,Ā andĀ spiceā¦
We ordered only two dishes as it sufficed both of usā¦
They are have got a huge menuā¦there is a lot to try!
TheĀ restaurant staff was quite cooperative, they exampled the dish which we orderedā¦
Overall, if you are looking out for some quick bites, do visit The Bawa's. They have got some really good menuā¦
I found this place pocket-friendly as well!
Went there for a weekend brunch , located on the main road a bungalow converted into a restaurant, with people living upstairs , it had a very traditional Parsee ambience with photos which will take you to 1950's and 1960's and make you nostalgic and with quotes that surely will make you cherish the day.
After giving full marks to ambience we ordered Bharuchi Akuri, Chicken Bon Bon, Barai Kabab, Vg Keema Salli Pav, Chicken Salli Pav, Lemon Ginger Iced tea, Irani Chai, and Coffee (Yes we were not on a diet that day!)
Akuri was simple egg bhurji with a different name, CHicken Bon Bon was Deep fried chicken patty with cheese inside it (Desi KFC!) ; which stood out was Salli Pav and the Bharai Kabab. The iced tea and so many gingers that my cough did not come back for a month.
Service is fast and the waiters are there to explain you the items on the menu,
Though a little pricier than others but you will enjoy every bit of it.
Parking can be a problem, very limited space available.
The restaurant as such is lovely. The walls, dining rooms are very retro just like one would expect from a Parsee owner. Very warm and welcoming.
I had earlier ordered home delivery and found the food delicious. And actually dining there is a great experience. The young owner is knowledgeable, welcoming and a wonderful host. The menu is extensive and the food yummy.
Our meal was mutton cutlet in pav, baked fish, glazed pork chops and mutton dhansak for 2 couples. The cutlet was delicately spiced and tasted yum with the pav which by itself was also very tasty. The fish was cheesy and a bit bland I felt but also yummy. The pork chops were the best of the lot with a delicious glazey sauce and cooked just right.
Definitely worth a visit.
At the moment they don't have a bar licence but are in the process of getting one.

Visited second time. And liked it again!!! Chicken bonbon is my daughter's favourite!!! Chicken khima samosa was spicy but liked it. Chicken berry berry pulav is all-time favourite. Had one or two more dishes but forgot names... sorry for that.. and yes.. Soda helped to soothen up spicy feeling.
Entire look of the restaurant is nice and have each and everything related to Parsi community... from food to decor!!! maintained the soul of BAWA. Keep it up...
Loved the place... Typical Iranian food with authentic taste. Breakfast items are excellent. And the original old pictures add charisma to it. A few decades old articles as well. A hall of fame of famous Parsee people. Brilliant idea...
Very nice place, with a bit rustic Parsi decor. It almost feels like home.
The service is awesome, you may try any of the snacks they all are awesome.
But they taste like homemade. A place you may choose for date or long chat with a small close group of friends or family.
This place will not disappoint you for sure.
Fabulous parsi restaurant with a lovely ambience and superb parsi food !!! Right from the Irani chai to the eggs on bheja or chicken kheema or mutton kheema or mutton chops ..
Or whatever else you want ..you can have !!!
We went for breakfast and even took a take away for lunch !!!!
The service is great and quick and you are so taken with the graffiti and photos that time just flies reading it all ....
They have ground and first floor seating as well as an outside option.
Just have a great meal at this place. Guarantee that you will come back again !!!
This place is for the Persian food lovers. The ambience is awesome. This is a two story building. The upper part is awesome. It is filled with old style chairs and paintings. It's like takes you back to old era. The food is awesome. They served chicken and mutton boti with pav. It was delicious. The service is good and kind.

I found this place pocket-friendly as well!
Delightful little cafƩ with very authentic Parsi roots as attested to by the cartoon wall murals, the many unique ethnic choices on the menu, and a number of catchy little sayings scattered throughout the place.
I found B.A.W.A. simply by walking by one late afternoon, quietly wishing I might find a cute place for "a little something" in an unfamiliar neighborhood. As soon as I saw the charming little entryway, I knew this was probably the perfect answer.
It was a joy to find all-day breakfasts available, as I'd been missing eggs for a long time and I wouldn't have expected to find them at such a late hour. My choice of "lasan per edu"-- a cross between fried and scrambled eggs with green garlic and 3 thick pieces of bread (white, not the healthiest option but forgiveable on occasion) was yummy. It was accompanied by a interesting brew of "irani chai masala."
Another delight was that several tables were near charge points, making it easy to get my anemic phone functioning again.
B.A.W.A. has been open only 4 months at this point in time. I hope it catches on quickly, and beyond just the local Parsi community, not all of whom are yet aware of it. This I found when I mentioned the place to several of them. Although it's a specialty niche, it would also appeal to many with multicultural interests. And -- if the other menu items are as memorable as mine -- the place should catch on with foodies of all persuasions!
Good place for a meal. In every section of the menu, they have a dedicated page for Parsee food options. Taste is good. Only our Sriracha Wings were a bit salty. The Mutton Berry Pulao was on point and serves two people. Like the vibe and the ambience. Will definitely go again to try something new.
Fantastic ambience, fantastic food especially the berry pulao and dhankshak
Beautiful place with real great ambience. Whole theme is very amazing!
Great Parsi food and lovely interiors....great place to spend time with family and friends!
Very good food and decor. We went within 2 days of its opening so there were teething problems which I am sure under the personal supervision of the owners, these will be overcome. The service staff was friendly and trying their best to meet the demands of the customers with a smiling face. We gave our feedback to one of the family members that we found food very spicy and portions small. He assured us that this will be looked into for improvement. Our very best wishes to the Doongaji family.
Authentic Parsi food. Great hosts. Great place for families and friends or the solo diner. Portions are more than enough for one person but may not be sufficient for two. There are fewer choices for the strict vegetarian. Parking for a few two wheelers is available right in front of the restaurant; it is harder to find parking for cars - you could park near the curb along the road but check for 'No parking' signs first. Our group found the pork curry and pizza the best of all the 6-7 dishes we had ordered.
