Ordered chicken chilli and chicken masala. The taste was just WAOW! The spices were just perfect.
Ate many times, they have homemade masala which brings a different taste from others. Fresh chicken, I love tandoori chicken. Must try. On weekends you may have to wait more than 30 mins, but it worths.
Ordered food from Abacha Dhaba for a party last Sunday. Absolutely brilliant. The mutton roast / chicken biryani / veg cutlets / pandhra rassa were outstanding. Extremely good & tasty food (with less oil as requested) & very courteous staff & owner. Thanks a ton !!!
Recently had an invite to this place. As the name indicates this place is an authentic dhaba serving assal Maharastrian food with the correct amount of spices and flavours. The owner Mr. Rahul kulkarni provided us with minute details concerning every spice that had been used in the making of the dishes.
We had solkadhi which had a twist of spice to it, roast chicken was the star of the day, malvani sukha as well as gravy with addition of grated coconut to enhance the flavour, kolhapuri chicken and last but not the least chicken biryani.
All the dishes were extremely lipsmacking. .
Recently visited Abacha Dhaba for lunch. it's a busy place on the busy streets of Sadashiv Peth. specializing in Kolhapuri Dhaba food, this is one of a true hidden gem around pune. they have a number of delectable Kolhapuri dishes on their menu to choose from, we had roast chicken, malwani chicken Sukha, malwani chicken rassa along with their special coal infused chicken biryani.
loved each every dish. three cheers to their for preparing our food perfectly. the Kolhapuri and malwani Masala's were totally on point with authencity. they do not have Thaali system here. its a A la carte menu. the portions were very comfortable for 2 people.
it's not the most spectacular place in terms of ambiance but for food like this it goes very well setting up a good Dhaba theme. it does get busy on afternoon's soo be prepared to wait a few minutes till you get a table.
If you're into some great Maharashtrian food, this is place is highly recommended.

we had tried 1.roasted chicken in starter- MUST TRY. It was my favourite amongst all dishes.Very well marinated spicy chicken it was .
2.malvani chicken-It was authentic malvani chicken रसा. perfect taste of malvani with lots of coconut and malvani spices makes it super delicious.
3.kolhapuri chicken- kolhapuri is something which i can never refuse to eat. and i ll highly recommend this dish.
4.chicken biryani-such a well flavoured biryani it was. perfect blends of spices and flavoured biryani. dont miss out biryani guys.
5.solkadhi- everyone must hav tried solkadhi once in life. There are many types of solkadhi. In different region u get different type of solkadhi. This solkadhi was very unique for me as it was tasting bit spicy too.
I have ordered veg dum biryani. It was very tasty. Those who are pure vegeterians but want to taste spicy biryanis must have this its too good

Biryani is awesome well cooked rice and pieces. Masala is proper quantity. Biryani pieces are juicy. Only one concern is less quantity .

Solkadi taste is very good. One thing about Solkadi is they prepare solkadi itself no third party solkadi. 😍

Well this place is like Alma mater to Non-vegetarian like me . Being frequent visitor to this place I can vouch for guaranteed mouth watering experience. We always order chicken tandoori as a starter which suffices our tongue with its delicious and roasted flesh. For main course , go for Chicken Malwani without a second thought . This dish is a speciality of this resto. Let me explain Malwani for non-Maharashtrians . It's like Garama masala powder as used in North India . It has right blend of spices in composite mixture prepared mostly on the west coast of maharashtras Konkan region. Rassa of the dish is a heavenly treat for those non-vegetarians who love spices in it's different aromas and tastes. I would recommend you to visit this place once and rest will be the story like I have written😁
Pure non vegetarian restaurant. Great place for Maharashtrian non vegetarian lovers. Small place and typical restaurant kind ambiance. Food was great. Ordered chicken and mutton thali. Chicken and mutton both were perfectly cooked with desi aromatic smell which makes you more hungry with perfect combination of spices. Service was great too. They really need bigger place with more ventilation . 4 points are just for food.

This place is famous for its Mutton bhakri and Rassa. Tasty Maharashtrian food. Solkadhi is a must try here. Ok ambience as its ment to be a styled as a dhaba. Should try this for sheer taste. Veg menu (akkha masoor) is also recommended. Enjoy!!

I took Special Mutton Dum Biryani parcel from here it was nice moist with tender pieces of succulent mutton pieces. Tasted good but there was no salt in it so i had to add it. Next thing is mutton pieces were less in number this may be because of less price. I had read in reviews that it has an unique smoky flavour but i couldn't found it..may be because i took parcel but this should not be an issue.
Otherwise its good that too in pocket firendly prices i.e. 240. Staff is good. Service is fast. Bt of you are planning for dining there you should go early as there is much much long waiting line.

Whenever in Pune, I always like to visit this place.
Known for its authentic coal-essence-non veg dishes, this is a must visit place for biryani lovers. Especially its mutton dum biryani with smoky coal is to die for. Sumptuous and tasty in every bite are all the dishes here. I have also tried chicken malwani and chicken handi alongwith bhakris. Veg dishes are also good. Ambience is not much to talk about, but service is fast.
It is a very small place but food quality is awesome. You must try a Mutton dum biryani 😋. I am specially go there only for Mutton dum biryani 🍲.

Mutton handi was delicious, ample quantity with soft pieces of mutton and medium spicy.
Goes well with bhakri as well.
Mutton Biryani is to die for.
Properly dum'd with flaming coal inside pot and covered with maida dough.
Mutton pieces and rice had smokey taste.
Crunchy fried onion and gravy used for layering was super awesome.
It was prepared in pure ghee.
A must visit place. I can vouch for the taste.

Quick Review- A must visit for the most authentic, spicy and delicious Chicken Malwani in the city. Spot on with taste and spices that make your eyes water but still make u crave to feast on the dish! The Chicken Dum Biryani served in earthen pot here is also decent and the tandoori roti is better than most places I've tried. Special mention also to the staff as service has been quick on multiple occasions which is commendable.
Quick Review - went there just to try most talked about biryani and not disappointed at all. Service was quick. The only concern was that there was soo much masala in biryani which I would not prefer. Chicken was nicely cooked. The essence of coal made it awesome. Overall pretty good experience.

A simple restaurant at the end of Laxmi road towards Alka talkies. The food is just fab. The place is small, simple and nothing glamorous about it. Parking can be an issue during day time. They also have another branch at Paud Road which has a good ambience. The special menu includes Mutton/Chicken biryani, mutton sukha, and thali. My personal favorite is the Mutton dum biryani

Aabacha dhaba had been on my wish list for a long time and finally got to go there this Sunday for dinner.. the ambience is very basic like most dhabas.. there is always waiting over here so the earlier you go the better..the service is quick and their prices are reasonable... coming to the main part.. the food.. is really good! we ordered the tandoori chicken as a starter and mutton and vegetarian biryani for the main course.. all the flavours and spices were spot on!.. the tandoori chicken was excellent.. moist, tender chicken.. and a bang of spices.. juicy, well done, perfect..
The biryani here is unlike any other biryani.. its served in mud pots covered with a layer of dough.. and as you make your way through that layer you find aromatic, perfectly flavoured rice and succulent mutton pieces cooked to perfection .. they are smoked with coal which just gives it a very different flavor..its served with a rassa which went well with the biryani.. a great version of the authentic maharashtran biryani.. loved it.. a great place for spicy, flavorful non vegetarian maharashtran food!

After a friend recommended, we decided to have the Biryani there.
We ordered Tandoori Chicken, Mutton Biryani and Veg Biryani.
The tandoori chicken was delicious, cooked to perfection, soft and the masala was on point.
Both Biryanis came in a handi/pot sealed with dough, which supported a piece of charcoal inside. When the dough seal is opened aromatic steaming biryani is uncovered.
Veg biryani was alright, nothing extraordinary, too oily.
Mutton biryani had a good thick flavour going on, it was spicy and tasty. The pieces were alright too.a

Aabacha Dhaba is the one place where I frequently visit for Maharashtrian food particularly Kolhapuri.
Located beside BP Petrol pump on busiest Laxmi road terminating at Alka Talkies square. ‘This is one way’ so take Kumthekar Road if coming from Deccan/Karve Road. Parking is not an issue for bikers but might be for other means.
Firstly let me make it clear this is a typical Maharashtrian restaurant having spicy food on their menu. ‘Vegans have very limited scope here’.
No. of visits I have made here to try as much variety of non-veg food which they serve. Chicken Handi, Tandoori chicken, Chicken fry, Mutton Biryani, Chicken Biryani, etc.
I like Biryani very much and always hunt for different places serving biryanis. So it’s surely the one in the order getting placed.
Talking about the Biryani, we taste different biryanis say HYDERABADI, AWADHI, KERALA, etc from different regions of the country. So if it is to be believed that Biryani can be prepared from various regions that equally tastes good then this place can definitely represent the MAHARASHTRIAN version.
A Pot biryani which is butter based is prepared in its unique way. The pot is sealed with dough and as it gets opened the aroma of the well-cooked smoking biryani comes out. A piece of burnt charcoal is placed on top which flavors the biryani. Tastes delicious. Solkadhi after the meal will be good appetizer.

As name suggests, this restaurant is only meant for those foodies who like/want to try typical 'gaavran' non-veg (chicken especially). I had Malvani Chicken which was more than enough for a pack of 5 people. So if you want to have a taste of gaavran for the first time do visit this place. :)

What is amazing about the Indian food scene is that mediocre preparations at swanky looking restaurants get rated highly while exceptional preparations at less venerable institutions are not looked up to.
Sadly, this place falls into the latter category. I have had Biryani from Arsalan in Kolkata, Paradise in Hyderabad, Carters, Gajalee and Leopold in Mumbai but by God the best Biryani I have ever had is served at this old less than savvy joint in Pune. If you like your Biryani with proper dum - spice, charcoal and meat so tender that it literally melts in your mouth then this is the place. Leave aside all pretensions and just sit down and relax. A clay pot and a plate will come and you will be taken on a ride of a lifetime.
With Biryani so good, I don't care about the ambience or anything else. What is served is positively divine and if not divine then at least so devilishly good that you will sell your soul to the devil to have it.
I just hope that this review sends a few more people and then they will have something amazing.
Its a good place to be for food, service is quick, the staff is good and above all the food is great. Awesome non veg food. Tandoor roti has a scope for improvement rest everything very good.
I remember walking into this place on a busy Saturday afternoon. The place is a bit congested. However, the food is lip-smacking here. The best thing about this is you get Jowar Roti here which is rarely seen these days.

Speciality is chicken and mutton biryani , Kheema fry, kaleji fry etc. place is very small and congested
I keep going to this place time and again. I love it for the jhatkedar chicken roast and tambda rassa.The dum biryani is awesome and has that typical kolhapuri taste. I love the food here. It is definitely value for money.
If you want a change your taste and need home cooked maharashtrian non veg food, you must try abacha dhaba.. the place you might find it small but definitely worth trying..
Mutton matka dum biryani, thats the only thing unique and worth having..

Perfect spicy taste of egg curry in pune, I've neverever taste this type of superb egg curry and dahi combination in my life.... Also the restaurant is in th prime location of pune, so it is easy to reach there....

I recommend not to bring more than 3 people here because the place is small. Ambience is not that Great but if you concentrate on food then you will forget about it.

Have visited this place around 12+ times in last 10 months, the best food, the best rates, the best quality, heaven for spice lovers, you just need to let them know, to make it as spicy as they can. Even Biryani served is very authentic and tasty.
Don't go by the ambiance of the place. It is too good and safe for families. The service is awesome the waiter always has a big smile on his face. The place is famous for non-veg, but the veg food tastes well. I tried egg curry and shev bhaji it was awesome.
