Chajja which has beautiful inner and outer seating space makes evenings at Fort Jadhvgadh serene and mesmerising! The balcony section of Chajja really gives you view goals while you have a spread of kebabs made with richest of flavours!
You can enjoy best of evenings here as well with coffee or chai & an ambience that wins your heart!
Chhajja is a place where you'll find your inner peace. The restaurant is inside Fort jadhavgadh and it's really good.
The menu which is served here is limited you don't have that much options to choose from but whatever they serve does the job.
We tried the food in the restaurant as well as we ordered in the room also.
The things we tried ...
Manchow soup - This can not go wrong at all. The soup you get here is perfect for everyone. Doesn't overpower in flavor section and you can ask them to make it strong if you prefer it that way.
Starters -
We tried
Drums of heaven - perfectly fried crisp coated chicken dipped into cocktail sauce. A good dish to have in winter season.
Cheesy mutton seekh kebab - The cheese could've been added a bit more to make its impact in dish. The kebabs were great juicy and didn't taste dry at all.
We tried Chinese cuisine in mains and it was really good. The asian food you get here is perfect for my palate and does the work.
The desserts they have is on the next level. Don't forget to try the brownies with ice cream. It's too good. We ate like 16 + brownies in our stay of two days and I'm not even exaggerating.
Overall verdict - Chhajja is a great place to enjoy a peaceful dinner or lunch.
Chhajja is a nice place at fort jadhavgarh. Nice and quiet place. Tasty food. Very nice service. They makes us feel special. My personal experience was very nice. We had chicken jafran, handi with kulchas and naan. Also Kali miri kebab were nice and tender. Overall nice place to make you special. Must visit.
"Chajja" again located in the beautiful Fort JadhavGadh serves good food. The interior looks stylish and classy. Abhishek took good care of us and the rest of the staff was attentive and kind.
We had
Veg Kolhapuri
Kombdi gawaran masala + garlic naan
Lassi
For breakfast you can opt for Club sandwiches, they are too good.

We had coffee and snacks here. Food is decent but the ambience is spot on, overlooking the valleys from a traditional balcony. Good place to relax.
Chhajja is a restaurant at the JadhavGadh hotel, fort heritage hotel.
They advertise it as a 24 hours coffee shop and dining restaurant.
The name Chhajja is because it is one floor above the ground.
They serve food in À la carte form.
Food of both restaurants in Jadhavgadh is similar , just difference is buffet and À la carte.
The service here was up to the mark.
All staff here also in traditional costume.
Also they have a open air sitting where also we can enjoy the view and eat.
Good experience altogether.
Chhajja is a part of the JadhavGadh hotel, fort heritage hotel.
It is round the clock coffee shop and dining restaurant.
It is located on the 1st Floor as the name suggests.
They serve food as per the menu.
Food here was very good at taste.
They have all Indian cuisine to cater to all kinds of guests.
The service was as per the Fort JadhavGadh standards.
Service staff is also in the typical traditional wear.

Loooove the food here! We were here for a 2 day stay and couldn't stop going gaga over the continental spread here. One must definitely try their Chicken Club sandwich which is hands down the best sandwich I have ever eaten in the recent times. Loved their coffee and appetizers too. All in all, a perfect casual and comfortable restaurant that you can enjoy during your stay at Fort Jadhavgadh :)
It's the in house restaurant of Maharashtra's first heritage fort hotel "Fort Jadhavgad" in Hadapsar, Pune
It's a heritage fort which later was converted into 5* hotel managed by Orchid group.
This place is mesmerising and perfect for weekend getway.
We stayed at fort jadhavgad last weekend and went to "Chhajja" for a dinner.
Staff here is really friendly and highly professional.
Special thanks to Mr. Pralhad and Mr Ayush.
As they come to know, we are here to celebrate my friend's birthday
they arranged a quick surprise for us by decorating table and gave us a perfect cake from their in-house bakery which was a best part.
Cheers to them!
Chhajja is 24 hours functioning restaurant and has has continental, moghlai, punjabi and modern maharashtrian cuisine in a menu.
We had mutton shorba, chicken tambda rassa with jwari bhakri.
Mutton shorba: Spicy Mutton soup with a good quantity
It's a perfect to start a meal.
Tambda rassa: A famous dish from Kolhapur.
Red chicken curry with chicken pieces and has perfect mixture of spices.
We totally loved it.
Overall Experience:
Food: 4/5
Service: 5/5
Ambiance: 4.5/5
Value for money: 3.5/5
The chhajja restaurant is a a la cart place in fort Jadhavgadh with a great view and a good ambience . The place is great to have a beer and chill. Also, you can choose from their all day menu and breakfast. The hospitality and service of the place is great!!!
I am not sure why Chhajja is so underrated on Zomato, but this place deserves nothing less than 4 at least. We stayed in the fort for a couple of days, with all meals in Chhajja, and this restaurant spoiled us with its great food. Be it veg or non-veg, we relished everything. What made this experience even more special was its courteous staff (particularly Ayush ji), who suggested best of the dishes, made us feel comfortable and like a family, and allowed us time to enjoy food. This made our overall experience at the fort very special. We are hardcore non-vegetarian and typically prefer non-vegetarian food, but the veg food is equally yumm. The breakfast also includes a wide range of options to select from. We are grateful to the Chhajja team to make our stay memorable. We will come back for sure!!
This is inhouse restaurant for fort jadhavgadh. Had breakfast over here. The service is great. There was a huge variety in breakfast. There was medu vada, idli, dosa, misaal pav and much more. I loved the medu vada, it was crisp and the chutney along was too good. Also the filter coffee was too good. There was live counter for dosa and filter coffee.
Was in jadhavgadh fort to spend weekend .
Firstly the royal treatment at jadhavgad fort will definitely amaze you .
Coming to the chhajja restaurant we had buffet breakfast included in our package .
so had royal experience having morning breakfast .
The ambience was superb totally royal touch.
Seating was super comfy .
Loved the service it was so quick and polite .
Would definitely visit again .
An absolute royal treatment received .. food is excellent. Both chinese and Indian cuisine is recommended. The staff is helpful and ambience is above normal and beautiful
Had been on a 2 days trip to jadhavgadh so had 2 breakfast, 1 lunch, 1 snack and 2 dinners.
Breakfast buffet was good on both the days. Paratha, chole bhature/ puri bhaji, idli chatney, medu wada/maysoor bonda, poha/upma, milkshake and juice all very tasty and good quality.
Must recommend the Chicken biryani (aptly moist and tender, well marinated chicken) and cheese tost!
Also try “Kombdi gavran masala” - very different and interesting taste!
Staff is very courteous and service is great!
I'd been to Jadhavgadh for a day trip with friends..well that indeed was a royal experience we have encountered.our trip was arranged by Mr.Rounik and he made sure everything was perfectly organized and arranged for us..we hanged out at kund for a couple of hours and then had our lunch at CHajja ..being a foodie I would say its the best place to enjoy a great , royal experience with no compromise in their food taste either..the best part of our food experience was SHISH TAOUK..perfectly cooked chicken in just the right amount of spices..this is something chicken lovers should surely try there..ALL I CAN SAY IS JADHAVGADH IS A PERFECT PLACE FOR. A WEEKEND OR MIDWEEK GETAWAY..and all thanks to MR.ROUNIK for making it a 10/10 experience for all of us..

Nice restaurant at fort jadhavgadh.. Tried chicken pasta which was just perfect. In Combo meals manchurian fried rice which was gud enough for two ppl not the best but was good. Veg biryani was amazing... With orchid membership recd a 25%discount on food.. Service was pretty fast.. One should definitely try...
Super amazing place. On the outskirts of Pune, part of fort Jadhavgarh.
To begin with , the ambience is beautiful and soothing.
The food adds to all the happiness and beauty of the place.
10/10 for the food.
Authentic Maharashtrian food, my recommendation - pithala bhakri, butter chicken, bharli vangi.
Definitely a must visit!
Good place however cost is too high. Food quality and service is good. Good place experience. Bar option is there. Card payments are accepted. Menu options are good.
I had the privilege of visiting the Chhajja restaurant nestled inside the famous Jadavgarh Fort. The fort, located 22 km’s outside Pune is approximately 300 years old and is named after Pilaji Jadhavarao who was a general in the army of Chhatrapati Shahuji, grandson of the great Chhatrapati Shivaji. The fort is spread over 25 acres and is Maharashtra’s only Fort Heritage hotel.
The restaurant offers all day dining to guests and visitors. The menu includes traditional and continental dishes that are cooked with a focus on authenticity, quality and flavour. I tasted some mouth watering Maharashtrian dishes that were picked by Chef Vaibhav Gawad from across this glorious state to showcase it’s diversity, richness of flavours and varied cooking styles and techniques.
Full stars for the ambience, peaceful and calm.
Food is average, service being slow.
Had tried Sweet Lassi and Coffee in beverages.
Recommended to visit for its sheer ambience and view.
We went there in a Sunday afternoon. However, to our surprise we were told we cannot enter the restaurants or the fort without paying Rs 500 per person for the audio museum tour in addition to anything we had to pay at the restaurants. When we asked the other persons around, there seemed to be some confusion and ultimately they did allow us to visit the fort and Chajja restaurant.
While the food and ambience was decent, there was nothing extraordinary. It was a pleasant time at the coffee shop. While leaving the fort however, we were once again told that it was not allowed to have entered without paying for the audio tour. This turned our mood extremely sour for the whole experience because nothing of this sort was on the website nor were there any such rules written anywhere once you entered the premises. While we did not pay the Rs. 500 per person, my recommendation would be to call ahead and clarify because it's really not worth paying for the audio tour only to be able to visit the restaurants.
We went here couple of times and it is really a nice place for ala-carte. Balcony view is really beautiful and it does make sense to book it in advance. Food here is good and it is value for money especially in case of Indian food items. They have good variety for mock-tails.
Pros:
1. Nice ambiance at all places- outside, inside or in balcony but my fav. is balcony.
2. Nice service- you can have special request and they happily help on that. The servers seem to have good understanding of menu and what can suit ones palate.
3. Value for money- It is better than many of the places that I have visited.
Before going to this place, I will suggest to call them as one time when we went it was booked for marriage and hence it was not available to public.
I have been to this place a couple of times and enjoyed every visit. You need to order Maharashtrian food. Their Chef and kitchen seems to be well geared for food with Maharashtrian flavours. We also tried "corn tikki", which was quite tasty. Mutton saswad is a "must have". Saswad is a local flavour and the mutton was cooked well.
You should try the local "bhakri" instead of nans or rotis. Bhakri is a local bread and has an exquisite taste. It should be had with "pitla".
Go for local Maharashtrian food and you will enjoy your dining experience here!
Nice ambiance, excellent food, Super friendly Staff.... Overall an experience to remember and cherish... Specific mention of the staff - Sukanto and Sumit - Made our Anniversary Dinner the one to remember (though they had and have no idea that it was our Anniversary Dinner)
One thing i like from this restaurant is view from their balcony , you have to do reservation for get seat on balcony because there only 2 table there . Food is good , they have both western and indian . Normal price and good staff also .
Chajja is the only 24 hours restaurant cum coffee shops that serves good continental and Chinese food.
The restaurant has 3 sitting areas;
1. Air Conditioned and lively indoor sitting.
2. Out door sitting under the trees with a small dessert bar.
3. I loved it the most, out door balcony sitting overlooking the Jadhavawadi, they just have 2 tables for the same so please book it in advance if you plan to have your meal there.Dinner is the best time for this place.
Food was delicious. Service was fine. Buffet had a good variety. Good ambience. Fort Jadhavgadh is worth a visit, great place in general, more so on weekends.
This is the coffee shop at Fort Jadhavgadh which serves ala-carte and liquor as well. They have both inside and outside sitting and the ambience is nice. There is a small wine cellar in the restaurant. The service is great. Coming to the food, it's a mix of Indian, Chinese and continental. The Indian and Chinese are pretty decent however the continental fare is not upto the mark.Overall, a good option for ala-carte food with liquor.
This place oozes out of perfect ambience. Had been there on my bday n what a place to be away from the hustle-bustle in such peace can you enjoy the nature.
The fort is well maintained and has a big lawn were the allow you to play different outdoor games, a garden, play area for kids, a temple and a small pond.
At the entrance they welcome you just like the royals. There is seatings indoors and the gallery. Only 2 tables are available in the gallery so make sure u make reservations.
Now coming to the food; the food was good in fact too good tried only the veg menu but everything that we tried was nice. So next time I visit surly gonna try non veg.
Service: they serve you in decent time which is fine when you have so much to see around you.
So in a nutshell its a decent place to visit and spend some quality time with some good food.
Jadhavgadh fort is a nice resort , with beautiful gardening ,ancient walls and beautiful museum and Chhajja is nice place to grab tea or coffee with snacks , you can have a good view of Mountains from terrace and enjoy peaceful environment. Loved the atmosphere.
A beautiful place for a delicious breakfast. A perfect weekend getaway! They also have day packages and a great place to chill and rejuvenate!
Have been here for Surprise Birthday Celebration, I took package for Celebration in which they gave decorated balcony with Balloons,Flowers and curtains. Birthday Cake and Mocktail (Initially they gave us Choice of Wine Bottle which I Refused) were included in Package,Cost was bit High but it was worth. It made her birthday Really Memorable. Cake and Mocktail were Superb.
Had food from here when we had a office outing at Fort Jadhavgad.
Place is cool and service is great. One is greeted well on arrival and the warmth is maintained till you leave the place.
Verdict
Taste 8/10
Ambiance 9/10
Qty 7/10
Service 9/10
Price 7/10
Value for money 8/10
This place is closer to my home and found it quite surprisingly very good. The historical ambience is the main criteria of this place and the food served were authentic.
We liked the and with the similar cost we could not have enjoyed so much elsewhere.
Would like to visit again if possible.
One of the four restaurants in Jadhavgadh, Chhajja offers perfect dinning alternative for families. Indoors, outdoors and gallery (limited but try to get it) seating options. The staff is very kind and polite and was entertaining our tantrums of moving across multiple tables. The service is really good. Complimentary pappadum-chutney and croissant-butter to start with. The croissant was warm and soft.
All vegetarians today, we ordered soups, starters and main course. The vegetable cream soup was rich, creamy and absolutely delicious, the best I ever had. Chilli paneer and mushroom poppers for starters. The paneer dish had weird coconut oil after taste, but the discomfort was not strong enough to be reported. The poppers where too oily for my liking. We ordered lasooni sabji, veg manchurian and dal fry for main course. Lasooni was finger licking good, manchurian was unexpectedly sweet. Dal and steam rice completed our main course. We asked for additional salad and they did not disappoint us.
Gulab jamun for desserts, the staff was kind enough to add extra jamuns as the size of individual jamun was relatively small. A perfect lunch experience with nothing really to complain about.
They have a private seating area in the balcony which is right on top of the main enterance one needs to reserve it in advance as it has only 2 tables. The view during the day is great from the royal balcony weather in the nite is pleasant. Food is good and pricing reasonable food in the interior rural Maharashtra can be spicy not here. The buffet breakfast was a disappointment not factored in the rating I have given.
This place isn't as bad as the rating on Zomato. Located within the Fort Jadhav Gadh, i believe this is the best restaurant within the property. Was here over the weekend and we happened to have lunch at this restaurant. We ended up ordering stuff not on the menu, the manager was good at suggesting stuff. We had Chicken Sukha with onion Kulcha. The Chicken Sukha was well done up and spiced - a little extra hot for my liking but the taste was nice. The onion kulcha was also well done up. The restaurant is a little expensive though, a can of pepsi costing Rs. 150/- which I believe is a lot of money. The food was good though and I would recommend the place for sure.
Good place for a day outting ! Big old fort surrounded by small hills on one side.
Good Ambience , service and variety of food and drinks!
Monsoon should be a good time visit.
Ahha nice place.. Been there in office party outing..
It is one of the restaurants in JadhavGadh Fort, actually a coffee shop and breakfast place.
There was nice buffet for breakfast, including fresh cut fruits, Fruit juices, malai milk, donut, bread, butter n jam n all other sides.
Taste is nice and you can have is little heavy ;)
For the vegetarians, buffet is placed inside and all non veg things like omelet and other egg item are prepared fresh and placed just outside cafe, under a tree which is also nice.
Overall a nice experience.. 4.0/5.0
So I was in the mood for some nice ginger tea and pakodas. So which better place than the fort around the city. So I drove all the way and reached here and the first thing I did was told the guys about the negative reviews the place was receiving from all over. Two things happened. The probability of me getting goid tea increased. And they knew that they were getting negative reviews and now was the time to prove otherwise. I made myself comfortable in the restaurant balcony. Quite comfortable. There was a nice coop breeze which only made me want the tea even badly. I called for a vegetarian sandwich, onion pakodas and ginger tea. The order took a while. Around 20 minutes. The tea was damn good, really enjoyed it. The sandwich was hefty and filling and tasty. Brown bread could have been better though. However, the pakodas could have been way better. They did not have enough onions to start with. And they were not all that crispy. They could have been way crispier. All in all, it was a very nice experience. The staff was very cordial and friendly. This guy called Chetan who was serving us was very polite and did a fabulous job. Definitely going back.
Been to fort jadhavgadh - a place where you just relax and leave the hustle bustle of the city and come closer to nature and yourself. Been to chajja the coffee house at fort jadhavgadh. While entering the ambience was cozy with soothing instrumental music giving the royal touch. But do try to go theough the small door and explore the royal sitting - was lucky to get a seat there, where we can witness the true surrounding nature giving a maharaja feel. Ordered some maharaja style drink on the meny followed by delicious jadhavgadh ke sholay and dal makhni and jeera rice... The food was totally awesome. Dint forgot to try the jadhavgadh murg makhani biryani its just out of the world with that suttle smoky flavour bursting in your mouth... Hope you too have a pleasant stay... And tge staf was well courteous which was a icing on the cake... Cheers!!!
chajja was a really nice restaurant. really enjoyed the food and the service of the staff there. Really satisfied..! Even the Jhadavgadh fort is a very nice property to stay. had a really good time. Felt Royalty..!
Loved it. We had lunch and dinner on the same day there and felt the choices were limited to have 2 meals back to back. The outdoor seating is a must experience. Do check out the jail that's converted into a wine cellar.
Serves veg, non-veg, alcohol and non-alcoholic drinks. Service is prompt and the place is spacious.
It's an in house restaurant of Maharashtra's first heritage fort hotel "Fort Jadhavgadh. The ambiance is really soothing, calm and showcases Maratha history. The food was delicious too. Staffs were very helpful and polite.
Chhajja - The coffee shop it's great heritage place and whole ambience is very good (Jharoka)

This is the restaurant and i don't understand why it's called coffee shop. Here's the slowest service, I was waiting for 30 minutes until table was cleaned (also I've asked three times hostess to arrange the table and she was ignoring it). Food was tasty and serving size was sufficient. View from the balcony was great.
It’s basically a restaurant with all kind of food. Nice view, good food and a different experience.
Nice food and service. But very limited options in round the clock menu
Food lovers paradise! Veg or non veg, I type this after just finishing my meal and I realise I've eaten beyond what I normally do. I couldn't stop eating. Tambda rassa, gawaran masala, sukka chicken, green peas ussal, veg lassuni, veg kolhapuri, egg bhurjee. This is all what I ordered in 2 meals. Come here even if its far, it will be worth it.
The food is good and staff is very polite.. it takes a bit of time to get thr food so go when you realize your craving and not after they are in their peak..
The chicken kholapuri and paneer kabab were good.. the minestrone soup was also nice warm would recommend having the soup at night with the cold weather it's a good combo..
The shish tauk was not that great.. tasted a bit bland and very little seasoning..
The Thai curry was good.. and has decent quantity so account for quantity when ordering
Nice place.to have your lunch and dinner alongside the pool on the chhajja feels very Nice.its adorable to have a candle light dinner.nice food and beverage servings.it fulfils your all wishes to enjoy such experience there.old and the true architecture is balanced with so called latest architecture.the trees along with pool are decorated with light feels so cool.
It's great heritage place, food is good.
The place is quite expensive , but the whole ambience is good
Absolutely loved it...don't miss the Bhakri & Thetcha ! 😊
Nice Place.. Live Band All so Very Nice.. Good Experience..
