Visited this place a few days back.
They have ample of seating arrangement.
The hygiene they have maintained here is quite impressive.
The interiors are simple yet elegant
.
Coming to the drinks, guava hit was my favorite. A bit spicy and citric in taste.
In starters we tried Kung Pao Chicken, Shanghai paneer and Pepper blast chicken. All of them were finger licking good 😍.
The sauces used in kung pao chicken were amazing and gave it a mild sweet and spicy flavor. It was topped with fried cashews.
Shanghai paneer was mild spicy. The paneer cubes had a great texture on it. The paneer was soft and fresh.
Pepper blast chicken was basically different types of boneless chicken pieces wok fried with sesame oil, red chillies and black pepper. It was simple yet so tasty.
Veg Malaysian noodles sure were amazing 😍. Flat noodles tossed in sesame oil, chillis, black pepper and veggies. They were even better than the chicken ones we tried 😋!
Overall, a good place to try various flavors of Chinese cuisine.
Food here is good but very oily. Service is not that great
Tried the wok bowl , it was really tasty with perfectly cooked meat , the lamb was literally melting in my mouth , the sauce was tasty too .. really satisfying meal.
Also the service here is too notch . I had ordered from swiggy and unfortunately the food fell out , I complained to the management and they were immediately on it and very apologetic . They asked for my address and Yash from the management personally came home and delivered my hot meal. Really impressed will definitely visit the restaurant soon with friends and family!
Whenever I crave for Chinese or similar foods. Five Fat Monks is the name that pops up in my mind. This elegant restaurant offers you some of the best and authentic pan Asian cuisine.
Ambience
The ambience is quite charming. Interiors done very nicely using wooden art. And the lightings compliment it completely. Also an outdoor seating for people who love to dine under the open sky.
A bar section specially curated to serve cool and refreshing mocktails.
Beverages
Watermelon Island - A simple n sweet mocktail with classic watermelon flavour.
Lemongrass - A fizzy lemongrass flavour infused drink. Quite refreshing.
Guava hit - A guava based drink with a bit dense consistency, salt n chilli mixture on the rim to give a spicy kick while sipping on this mocktail.
.
Food
Shanghai paneer - Pieces of paneer marinated in spice mixture and secret sauces. The paneer was bit dry and the sauces were not penetrated into the pieces.
Lemon chilli rice - This was my favourite dish. Nicely prepared with balanced amount of spicy and tangy taste. Just one bite of this will make you experience a rainbow of flavours.
Malaysian noodles - great taste, awesome flavours. That's all I would say. This doesn't need more appreciation
Pepper blast chicken - The best chicken dish of the day. Hot peppers and shredded chicken combined to form a bomb.
Phat nin noodles and Kung pao chicken were also good.
Fried choco pops - This dessert was an example of awesome creativity. Marie biscuits crushed and formed into small balls which are then fried and served with vanilla ice cream garnished with chocolate chips along with a bowl of hot chocolate sauce to pour over the ice cream.
I would definitely recommend to everyone reading this, try to visit here atleast once. I'm sure you will thank me later.
Ambience:-
A small and sweet place with a dark asian theme and vibrant lighting and a soft drinks bar which is amazing to look at. Also has an outdoor seating which is rather small to accommodate big groups so it made no sense to me expect for smokers.
Food:-
Five Fat Monks located at Balewadi High Street is an amazing Asian place Offering Some of the best Noodles I’ve had with Vegetable Dimsums, Momos and GOOD Kung pao Chicken as appetizers. All of this with their Fried Choco Pops Dessert 😍 makes it a perfectly Authentic Asian Place with Some Amazing food!
I had 3 drinks
Spicy Guava:- Awesome
Red Island:- a bit too flavoured
Lemon Grass which was by far thee best
For appitizers I had
Pepper blast Chicken which was good.
Shanghai Paneer:- Paneer was too hard and dry it was understood that it had just been marinated and the seasonings and the flavours didn't make it any special. Quite average
Kung Pao Chicken it was also good.
For main Course I had The best Lemon Chilli Rice!!
The best Malaysian Noodles and Average Phat Thin chicken noodles.
The Highlight of the place was not the Asian food for me but the very Western dessert of fried choco pops which was simply amazing ❤️

Really good quantity so would say value for money! Great ambience. They have a lot of different kinds of seating arrangements too.
And paste but never the least, they have good taste!
Their variety of rice and noodles is really tempting.
Aldo they let you make your own noodles too which is fascinating and you can always pick what you want!
(Five Fat Monks) as the name suggests is one of its kind place that primarily serves you the authentic Asian Cuisine. Located at Balewadi high street, Baner which is considered as one of the prime locations in Pune. The overall ambiance (Interior as well as exteriors) of the restaurant has pretty good vibes. They have seating arrangements both indoor as well as outdoor with some cool music. You can come along and hang out with your family and friends anytime.
[Starting with mocktails]: I ordered 2 mocktails which were,
(Watermelon Mocktail) - a well-balanced drink that truly refreshes and has a tropically refreshing taste - its simply amazing.
(Guava Hit) - It's totally unique, a one of its kind mocktail that tastes beyond description. MUST TRY.
[Starters]
(Shanghai Panner) - Paneer being my favorite, had excellent flavor of spices and consistency which leaves nothing to be desired.
(Pepper Blast Chicken) - bound to please the most demanding of tastebuds. Perfectly Cooked Chicken which is crispy on the outside, tender on the inside.
(Veg Manchurian sizzler) - a sensational dish that always pleases. The veggies, Manchurian, Potato fries, and Rice was Delicious. The presentation showed off the sizzler in a very bright way.
(Wok - Bao with Corriender parsley sauce) - They have this amazing option where you can make your own wok choosing your favorite veggies, sauces and the choice of base. I had ordered the veg wok - Bao with Corriender parsley sauce. A taste you'll have to try to believe. you won't find any better Wok anywhere. MUST TRY.
[ Desserts ]
(Fried Choco Pops) - A dessert you'll never forget: vanilla ice cream served with the crispy balls made up of Marie biscuits, poured over with hot chocolate on the top. It's so good you'll want to skip dinner.
Overall, the staff is co-operative and humble while the service is the fastest I've seen till date, You definitely should visit this place and try their unique and lip-smacking dishes.
Five fat monks is such a great place with delicious asian food located in one of the busiest streets in Pune i.e. Balewadi highstreet. The ambience here is decent, peaceful and very pleasant. The service is also good. Talking about the food, if you are craving for asian food this is surely a go to place.
The mocktails we order
1. Pinnacolada 2.0
2. Blue ice
Both the mocktails were refreshing and soothing.
The flavour of pineapple and coconut in pinnacolada was perfect. The blue ice tasted best as they had icecream blended with the syrup.
Manchurian sizzler(Launching soon)
This sizzler had a perfect blend of the sauces to the manchurians. The manchurians were soft and top notch in its taste. Overall the sizzler tasted really good. Once they are on the menu, you must surely give it a try.
Make it your own wok.
They have this amazing option where you can make your own wok choosing your favourite veggies, sauces the your choice of base.
We had ordered one veg wok and one non veg wok. Both of them had an ultimate taste.
Veg& Non veg unlimited menu.
Another amazing thing they serve you is unlimited veg and non veg menu which includes a soup, a starter/gravy and rice/noodles. The best thing about this is you can how much ever you want and you can order some different dish in your next course. The taste is also super delicious.
Coming to the amazing desserts.
1. Honey noodles with icecream
2.Fried choco bombs
If you are a dessert fan these two are a must try. Super tasty with perfect sweetness.
Overall its surely a great place to chill out with your friends , spend time with family and yes also to have business meetings.
// FIVE FAT MONKS //
FIVE FAT MONKS is the place which serves you Asian cuisine but with slight Indian touch to the recipes. Situated at the most busiest and competitive area Balewadi highstreet. They have indoor as well as outdoor seating arrangements with great music indeed. Also they have come up with unlimited menu and sizzlers. Also you can make your own wok.
Coming to the food and drinks:
MOCKTAILslS
WATERMELON & GUAVA HIT: both were outstanding the taste the sweetness the texture everything wad up to the mark. Me being a watermelon lover the watermelon was subtle and a relaxing drink. Also the GUAVA HIT is the show stealer I must say. It's a bit spicy due to the salt and red chilli mix covered up at edges of the glass. It was thick and had ordered twice the consistency was also the same.
SPICY BASIL CHICKEN:
Very basic but yet full of flavours. Chicken Tossed in basil and other inhouse spices. Chicken had that crisp texture and was cooked properly. It was a bit spicy.
VEG MANCHURIAN:
Veg Manchurian has always been a treat to vegetarians. And no doubt here the veg Manchurian is the best according to me like the best moist inside and that thin crispy outer cover. Tossed in Onion and chilli paste with dark soya.
DIVINE SOY:
Divine soy is something a fusion of many ingredients like pan fried noodles, chinese mushroom, baby corn, water chestnut, tofu everything in sizzling soya sauce. Every ingredient used had their individual taste with soya sauce.
BURNT CHILLI GARLIC NOODLES:
My personal fav from this place. You must have tried chilli garlic noodles or burnt garlic noodles.
But they serve burnt chilli garlic noodles. Chilli flakes plays a vital role in this also it balances the taste not overpowering but soya sauce was also used in exact amount. The noodles were not fully cooked so it had that unique taste too. Its kinda street style noodles.
BAO WOW SCHEZWAN PANEER:
Steamed fluffy breads stuffed with Paneer which is probably again tossed in special inhouse SCHEZWAN sauce. The filling inside is full filling for one person.
FRIED CHOCO BOMBS:
The unique and kinda healthiest dessert I have ever tried till date. Fried choco bombs are made of Marie biscuits accompanied by Chocolate sauce and vanilla ice cream.
Had the best time with my mates. The staff is also humble and the service is fast they won't keep you waiting
One of the best places i have visited till now. If you're craving for some Pan Asian food then this place is a must visit. They serve some really delicious food. From refreshing beverages, food to desserts everything was awesome. If you're a dessert lover then they have some interesting desserts in their menu. Honey Noodles with ice-cream and Choco Fried Bomb. these two are one of the most mind blowing desserts i have ever tried. A must try. They're also introducing Sizzlers in their menu soon which i got a chance to taste it earlier n it was delicious. Well my overall experience here was great. Definitely worth going here.
Recently I got the opportunity to visit "Five Fat Monks" at Baner. Being a fan of Asian cuisine, this place had been on my list of must visit for quiet some time.
Well all I can say is that it was totally worth the wait. Along with some super delicious & interesting dishes, the ambience too is pretty comfortable with both indoor and outdoor seating.
Great to hangout and spend some quality time over good food with family, friends or colleagues.
.
What I tried here and how I liked it :
Beverages :
Pinacolada 2.0 - Light and Refreshing , something you could sip along if you plan to try some well spiced food.
Blue Ice - This is an ice cream based drink, perfectly sweetened, frothy and definitely a must try if you enjoy sweet drinks.
Guava Hit : This particular one is spicy and extremely delicious. It is a go to drink for ones who enjoy spicy beverages.
Food :
.
The best part of the food here, was the "Make Your Own Wok".
It is a 4 step process :
1. You start by choosing a base for your Wok : Rice/Noodle etc.
2. You get a choice of Sauce.
3. Choice of Vegetables &
4. Add ons.
That is obviously a great option to go for, but in case if you not sure that's something for you, then definitely the next option is your go to deal.
Five Fat Monks offers Unlimited Veg & Non-Veg Meals : This includes -
- Soup of your choice
- Starter of your choice
- Rice/ Noodles of your choice.
Psst.... just to emphasize it again its unlimited and you can try a different soup or appetizer when you call for your second or third course.... Can this get any better???
Oh it definitely can !
The restaurant is soon introducing some super delicious Sizzlers options in the menu.
I did fortunately get to try the Manchurian Sizzlers and yes I am definitely going back for them once it's on the Menu.
.
And carrying a sweet tooth, how could I leave without satisfying that craving.
So Desserts :
Honey noodles with Ice cream : If you are just like me, who believes that desserts should be no less that divine sweetness, then I highly recommend this one for you. Crispy honey coated noodles with Icecream on top is just perfect.
Fried Choco Bombs : For all those who count the calories and end up having to give up on the dessert, here's something for you. You can enjoy this delicious dessert guilt free because it has lesser calories and more nutritional value than most other desserts.
It is a must visit for all you Pan Asian Cuisine fans out there. As this place has something for all.
Ambience : 4/5
Food : 5/5
VFM : 4/5.
Five fat monks, a place where you can expect some great Pan Asian delicacies. (as the name suggests). Situated in hyped Balewadi Street, it can be considered as a very good option for dinner or lunch. The ambience is really simple and cosy with properly arranged indoor and outdoor seating. The staff were very helpful and Cooperative. The service was quick and the food served to us was fresh and hot.
Let's talk about food now. We started with some cocktails: Pina colada 2.0, Blue Ice and Guava Hit.
Pina colada was light and refreshing. Blue ice was sweet and prepared with ice cream. Quite amazing. I liked the Guava Hit as its spicy and refreshing at the same time.
Then the owner of the restaurant told us to try the veg Manchurian sizzlers which is yet to be added in the menu. The Sizzlers were delicious and yummy. Full Marks to the sizzlers.
Then we tried their unlimited endless menu. One veg and one non-veg. I liked their concept of the "Unlimited endless menu". You can have one rice or noodle with a gravy/ starter and one soup. And after finishing it you can also change the dishes ordered before. like if you have ordered rice earlier and now you can order noodles also. The concept is really amazing and innovative. Also, the quantity served is pretty good in one go itself.
Then we tried the "Make your own wok" just to satisfy our curious nature. Its basically a concept of making your own wok by selecting your own base, protein, veggie, sauce and garnishes. We ordered one veg wok consisting of Bao and veggies in sweet and sour sauce. And one non-veg wok with the base of rice with chicken cooked in oyster sauce. Both were delicious and worth trying.
The desserts were the stars of the meal. We tried Honey Noodle with ice cream and Fried Choco Bombs. Both were amazing. Fried Choco bombs were quite different from the regular chocolate dessert. Must-try.
Overall Rating :
*Ambience : 4 /5
*Service : 4.5 /5
*Food : 4.5 /5
*VFM : 4/ 5
Amazing food....great ambiance 😍...
Very nice food really loved the ambience do try it
Very nice ambience....Tasty Asian food in very hygenic condition....Good food...Good service...Mr John from the restaurant is very Hepling in menu selection...Keep it up...
This is a place that serves amazing street style Pan Asian Food. A small place with a good ambiance, indoor and outdoor seating. The vibe of the place is very positive.
When it comes to Oriental cuisine, the burst of flavors in the food is just mind blowing. So the food served here is typically like the proper street food.
Drinks that I had here were,
Watermelon drink, which was a refreshing drink, sweet and melony after which I had a drink named Guava Hit which actually will give you a hit after you drink. A drink which is the best for all the spicy drink lovers. There is a drink by the name Lemongrass and Ginger Lemonade which is extremely refreshing not too sweet but the flavors were outstanding.
Coming to the Food these are the dishes that I had here,
Veg Manchurian which was a really nice dish, flavorful and tasty. Spicy Basil Chicken was also served. This was an amazing dish having a really nice flavor of basil also was spicy, the chicken was tender and cooked well, crisp and juicy. The next dish was the Bao Wow Schezwan Paneer, a bao preparation which has schezwan paneer as the filling. Quite flavorful and crispy. Then we jumped to the main course in which we had Zen Hen Goes Green which had a rice preparation with a green chicken gravy, which was my favorite of all. Then we had the Devine Soy, which had a red gravy that was served over crispy noodles. All the flavors balanced and the taste was also very pleasing. I had always hear about burnt garlic noodles, but here I had the Burnt Chilly Garlic Chicken Noodles which was a kind of Indian street style Chinese, full of amazing flavors and spiciness.
We then had the dessert course in which we had crispy noodles with ice cream and Fried Choco Bombs from which I liked the Fried Choco Bombs, served with ice cream and chocolate sauce.
In a conclusion if you are looking for a place to have some Asian street food this is the place you can drop by.
Great place for delicious Pan Asian cuisine this side of the city ... I just loved their chicken soul soup and khow Suey ... Keep it up !!!
Ordered from five fot monks on zomato, the taste was just awesome, loved the quality and freshness of dishes, spices were in appropriate quantity that made the food really tasty. Just one request if you could increase the quantity a bit it would be really great.
FIVE FAT MONKS
I payed visit to this place with bunch of my friends. The space offers Asian cousin primarily. It sites at balewadi highstreet. The place compromises of Indoor and outdoor sitting arrangement. Either of those arrangements are no less than a beauty. Indoor one has tiny elegant mocktail section. I had best of my lunch time here.
___________________________________________
I kicked off with some mocktails. The Watermelon mocktail at it's best was delicious and felt like real watermelon.
__________________________________________
Then I ordered Guava Hit and got my heart hit. It got bit spicy taste the way I like.
__________________________________________
Later grabbed Lemon Grass and Ginger mocktail actually I tried it for first time and now I'm mad over it. It was really awesome mocktail.
__________________________________________
Further pushed some Veg Manchurian into my belly. Manchurian was perfectly fried it was crispy outside and soft inside. Adequate amount of sauces made this dish perfect.
___________________________________________
Yet my belly craved and Spicy Basil Chicken comes in the picture. Chicken was perfectly cooked and marinated.
___________________________________________
Then I had a tongue twister for lunch it reads "Zen Hen Goes Green". The plate was divided in two, one half had rice and other got green thai curry chicken. I had it for first time and my tummy says it's yummy. It's better to use divide and rule policy it's bit too heavy for one; so get ur better half over this
___________________________________________
Then ordered Burnt Chilli Chicken Noodles its a bit spicy because of chilli they used in it. Chicken was good and crispy too. Its quality with quantity so two people could easily eat this dish.
___________________________________________
Then I ordered Fried choco bomb. If u really like chocolate then order this delicious dessert. Mari- Gold taste like chocolate ball they used for preparation. They poured some hot chocolate syrup on icecream before I had the desert.
Overall experienced was awesome. If someone want to try best Asian food I highly recommend this place.

Five Fat Monks is one such place where an individual can enjoy the perks of putting together various ingredients with a variety of sauces, proteins and base.
Food- We started our lunch visit with their new Mocktail options. We opted for Spicy Guava, Virgin Mojito and Water Melon Mocktail. The Spicy guava had an overpowering spice taste which was a let-off! The taste was good though. Spice lovers do try.
Water Melon Mocktail comes with a fizz while the Virgin mojito can be a classic choice to help down Asian food.
For Starters, we had a plethora of choices. To begin with, we ordered Crispy Spicy potato, exotic vegetable stir fry and cocktail prawns. Crispy Spicy potatoes are baby potato served with chilli flakes and other seasonings. The crunchiness can be enjoyed both in the potatoes and also in the seasoning. Stir-fries are the quickest and the best answer to hunger pangs. The exotic veggies were served and vanished instantly. Cocktail prawns were the real winner. Beautifully arranged prawns with a sweet and spicy honey chilli dip served in a Margherita glass. Wow! Must try. I’ll suggest hold on to that dip while you can enjoy other food options also.
Wok of my own- A) Non- Veg, B) Size- Small, C) Base- Flat Noodles, D) Protein- Prawns, E) Shitake Mushrooms, F) Sauce- Hunan, G) Spring Onion. That was my wok. Yes, I made a safe and simple choice and it worked brilliantly. The portion size of the Wok is generous. Go ahead and make your own wok!
Service and Ambience-
The place is located at the happening junction of Balewadi High Street and has an upscale get up. Unfortunately, due to too many constructions going around the premise the outdoor seating is not recommended. The interiors are elegant and air-conditioned with sofa seating which is cosy and comfortable. The Service is superfast as every oriental place should be. And the waiters are alert and responsive.
Overall-
A cosy place amongst a crowd of lounges and bars where one can enjoy Asian food and leave with a content heart. We were lucky to visit the place during their anniversary celebration which will last throughout the month of December. One can try their Anniversary special menu as we did.
Visited this place few days back to try out their 2nd Anniversary special menu. Five fat monk is a Pan Asian restaurant situated in the busy lanes of Balewadi Highstreet. They have indoor as well as outdoor seating options. Ambience is cool and cozy inside.
Coming to the drinks we tried Spicy guava that is a delightful combination of spicy, tart and fruity taste.
Then tried watermelon cooler and virgin mojito. Both tasted good.
Coming to starters we tried:
✓ Crispy spiced potato: Crispy potatoes tossed with lots of masalas and chilli flakes. It was served in a martini glass.
✓Cocktail prawns: Served in a glass, prawns tossed in cocktail sauce that was made inhouse. It's sweet and spicy in taste. Highly recommend.
✓ Japanese fried chicken: Perfectly cooked chicken nuggets coated with a crispy layer outside. Goes really well with mayonise.
From main course I tried:
✓ The zen hen chicken: Asian style chicken gravy served with fried rice. Gravy was delicious and the chicken pieces were tender.
✓ Wok your own: So the best part of this place is that we can choose our own wok and toppings in it from the various options. I've selected plain noodles base with Kung Pao sauce and chicken in it. The large size bowl is more than enough for a single person.
From desserts I tried
✓ Chocolate coffee bomb: layered with coffee flavoured brownie base, icecream scoop and topped with chocolate sauce and chocolate chips.
✓Fried Choco pops: Icecream scoops with hot chocolate sauce and small fried chocolate balls.
Had a great time. Gonna visit soon :)
Looking for yummy Asian food & chill place to hang out ?
And you are in baner / balewadi ? Can recommend Five fat Monks for sure..
Also.. its there 2nd anniversary so they have introduce some new & special menu thats one more reason to go there asap for asian food lovers.
# AMBIANCE :
Located on the corner of Balewadi Highstreet, Small but colorful place. They have some outdoor tables and specious seating inside. We choose to sit in side as we were there for lunch.
Comfortable seating arrangements, some good lighting and shiny tables ( really so clean..way clean than my room🙄 ).
Small bar section which dont serve alcohol btw 🤷🏻♂️.
But they do have some good mocktails.
# FOOD :
As i mentioned earlier we had some great dishes from there special menu of 2nd anniversary checkout what they were,
So we started with some cocktails
# Water Melon
Sweet ( actually too sweet for me ) but Bang on presentation.
# Spicy Guava
Now thats what i like it.. love the spiceness ot that drink with that sweet tangy flavour of guava.. & glass was garnished with spicy masala n salt which added more flavor to it !!
( May be was too spicy for others...😅😉🙊 ).
# Virgin Mojito
No doubt it was great ! Limy fresh, properly garnished and perfectly chilled.
( Personally i call this drink a safest order for drink !! hardly anything can go wrong with this !! )
Now the main part... Food we had..
# Crispy spiced potato
Crisp potato piaces served with spices and crisp masala all over it served in large cocktail glass . Honestly love that masala more than those potato pops...😋😋.
# Cocktail Prawns
Perfectly marinated prawns with balanced spices and served clinging on edge of Cocktail glass full of yummy homemade sweet chilli Sauce.. just dip in that n khate raho..( but sadly it finishes bso fast.... 🤷🏻♂️🙄😅😆 ). Loved it.
# Exotic Vegetable stif fry
Simple, well kinda healthy and yummy.
# Japanese Fried Chicken
Chicken nuggets fried with some coating in Japanese style, best munchies to have with drinks & chitchat. Well coated, nicely fried. Comes with some spicy sauce ( more lome chutney 😅 ).
# The Zen Hen
Chicken gravy & rice served in nice plating pattern, lil spicy, well cooked & totally filling. I bet more than enough for one.
# Wok of your own
Now this one is nice concept they have, one need to choose what she / he would like to eat as toping in his bowl with which type on protein, options of rice or types of noodles, veggies & preferable sauce ( try saiwoo if you like spicy 😋 ).
They have 2 portion sizes big or small bowl ( which is just small in words btw ). Quantity for big is huge... So order accordingly 😉.
And Now Desserts....
# Fried Choco Pops
Small fried Brownie choco pops with vanilla icecream and poured with yumm hot chocolate Sauce... A good combo of hot n ice. ( Pro tip : if you are gone in group, keep your dessert spoon ready asap sauce is poured.. or u not gona get those pops for sure...😆😆 ).
# Chocolate Coffee Bomb
Now thats my personal favorite ( as anything with coffee is my favorite 😛 ) icecram in glass on layer of Chocolate Sauce & choco balls topped with coffee sauce & powder...ssssooo yummmm.... Try this for sure....
#
# SERVICE :
first of all well maintain place and equally good service.
staff was so good with serving. They know what they serving very well.
And i really appreciate there cleanliness, specially glass tables..
So this is chef in helmet done here .. And now as always thanks for baring me And Yenjoy ✌
Five fat monks is located at balewadi High street and on Saturday, I gave it a visit to start my weekends off. Okay, so when you get in, you have beautiful atmosphere and you have the option for both indoor and outdoor seatings, I prefered indoor because the weather was not that much good! The outdoor seating was absolutely gorgeous as it was decorated with fairy light but can only be seated in a pleasant weather. The music was good playing in the background.
We started of with mocktails like Guava Hit, Virgin Mojito and Watermelon. Guava hit was spicy as I had expected the mocktail to be sweet as the rim is covered with chilly to give a balanced flavour but on the other hand watermelon gave sweeter taste has unequal proportion of syrup used in it so it could be better which we tasted from. For Virgin Mojito it was good as usual and the taste was perfect like we usually have in other places.
Coming to food, we ordered-:
1. Crispy Spicy Potato - So we tried this amazing starter that was really good in taste with the balance of spice in it and the presence of chilli flakes which makes it more tasty.
2. Exotic Vegetable Stir Fry - It was really different as having some healthy food in an asian restaurant but this was good as broccoli and other veggies was there which is good for health.
3. Wok of your own - So we make our own wok which we done by selecting some base then add-ons after that the sauces and at last the toppings over it so which is really interesting to try out.
4. Thai Red Curry - We tried this Curry here so I am not that much fan of it but really like it as was served with rice which give an amazing taste to it.
Now Desserts which we ordered-:
1. Chocolate coffee bomb - It was a three-layer dessert, it had a cake layer starting from the bottom, above which was a large scoop of vanilla ice cream and topped with coffee cream and caramel.
2. Fried Choco Pops - It was vanilla ice cream surrounded by chocolaty biscuits, chocolate balls and choco chips and topped with chocolate sauce over it. This dish would surely take you chocolate heaven.
Amazing food something unique and value for money
Very good place, highly recommend to visit for anyone, you can go with your family, friends and blindly order any food, you will get extremely good Teast, quality.
Must visit for a mid range pan Asian cuisine.. loved the food to the hilt..
It's a small and cozy outlet in the heart of Balewadi with both indoor and outdoor seating. My friend and I landed there on a warm Saturday afternoon to enjoy some nice Asian food and we were not disappointed. We ordered the schezwan chicken bao for starter and veg phat nin noodles with prawns in devil sauce for main course, along with a ginger lemon soda and a spicy guava mocktail. The bao was quite spicy and it tasted amazing. This was followed by the main course and the refreshments which I would say was of more than enough quantity and unless you have a large appetite, eating more than the main we that we had ordered would be quite difficult. Nevertheless, the food and service were amazing and I would recommend everyone to give it a shot.
Awesome ambience and good food makes a gr8 combination. Will suggest to come in group.
This place is situated on busy area of balewadi high Street. Talking about the ambience the seating is comfy & live screening.
Talking about the mocktail the watermelon blush is so refreshing & the guava hit bit spicy but delicious.
Coming on the food we had
Veg Manchurian perfectly made.
The Spicy basil chicken quite spicy but extremely delicious served with veggies
Also the chicken dimsums & savoury Paneer was good
The dessert were on point totally yum the fried choco pops & the choclate coffee bomb both the dessert are must try totally yum 😋
The staff is friendly & service is good I totally recommend this place from my end🙂
One of the best places in Pune to try out some spicy cuisine. It is a pocket-friendly place which screens football matches too and has some of the best food in the city. The ambience looks decent as well and the atmosphere was really good as well.
Some of the dishes that I really liked were-
Chicken Khowsey
Chocolate coffee bomb
Fried choco pops
The juices were also fine and the quantity of a single plate of momos, at least good for two people. Overall had a great experience and will surely visit this place in the future.
This is first dine in place of five fat monks, they're usually known for their take aways. I loved the ambience, they have indoor as well as outdoor sitting.
They do have wide menu where you can create your own food. That's why their tagline is make it your way.
Coming to the food I had Mocktails, Veg Manchurian, Savoury Paneer, Go Green Veg and Schezwan noodles.
Overall service was good and the staff is also nice.
The place is located at the bustling area of balewadi highstreet, Baner. The food served is as authentic as it can be. All the dishes we tasted were amazing and tasty. Especially the main course dishes and the desserts. The staff is friendly and energetic. Place is well lit and ambience is very nice.

Great taste. Must try burnt garlic noodles.
Absolutely love this place. I could eat here all the time! Perfect food and the staff is great. Everything tastes great and completely worth the price. ❤❤
Located near Balewadi high street this place is amazing for a quiet sumptuous lunch or dinner 🥘 Personally I am a fan of Asian cuisine and that’s the main reason I was attracted to this place..They serve quite a good variety from starters to main course(predominantly rice and noodles). They also have an option for creating your own Wok portion which is quite interesting too,
We ordered Chilli Bombay paneer - well cooked fresh pieces of paneer in spicy tangy sauce it was amazing 😍
Thai green curry with steamed rice - the curry flavour was a bit sweet I would rate this at 3/5
Schezwan tofu with steamed rice - lovely flavour with right amount of spices overall a 4/5
I would definitely suggest this place for asian cuisine lovers
The staff is courteous the service is great totally a VFM place for quick a lunch/dinner
This place serves real good Chinese at an unbelievable affordable rate! Being located at such a prime location with so good crowd and heavenly food is the best combination you can imagine for your weekend dinner! Rush to this place right away!
The best Chinese in Pune... Period.. even better than the big names around. The prawn dumplings were melt in the mouth, while the spicy basil Chicken had just the right amount of basil and super succulent chicken... The taste still lingering in my mouth and mind... Yummy...

This place is located opposite to Balewadi High Street, Baner. A perfect destination for Pan Asian Food lovers.
👉 Ambience :- They have both outdoor and indoor seating. This is a small outlet though they have managed seating arrangement nicely. It has a decent ambience. I liked the Chinese lanterns.
👉 Staff :- Very Helpful and Cooperative.
👉 Service :- it was quick and food served to us was fresh and hot.
👉 Lets come to food :-
🔹King Khapra :- A perfect combination of minced chicken with brown rice topped with half fried egg. The taste was amazing. Highly Recommended.
🔹Slurpy Suey :- A delectable one pot meal perfectly cooked to strike every single of your taste buds with its vibrant flavour. It contains cottage cheese cubes in it. Curry was amazing.
🔹Dimsums :- I am a die hard lover of dimsum. I tried Veg, Chicken Sui Mai and Prawns Har Gow. No doubt filling was good but coating was not up-to the mark due to oversteamed. They were served with schezwan dip which was so good. It goes well with dimsums.
🍨 Desserts
🔹Chocolate and Coffee Bomb :- it was one of the best of all we had. A jar filled with brownie cubes, vanilla ice-cream, choco chips and topped with coffee and cream. The chocolate and coffee combination goes well and flavorful. I loved it. Highly Recommended.

This place is situated at Balewadi High street, beside hippie at heart. This place serves Asian food The place has indoor and outdoor seating with soft music in the background (good place to chill with friends) plus they also have Zomato gold.
Below are the few dishes I had at this restaurant:
Chili Bombay Paneer.
This is basically a paneer starter. The paneer is perfectly cooked with green chilly flavour tossed on it. Definitely a recommended dish at this place. This dish can serve two people.
Veg Dim-sum.
The dim-sums at this place were not up to the mark. It was over steamed due to which the dim sums were somewhat broken. The taste was still flavorful. This dish can serve two people.
Khow Suey.
This is soup meal dish made with coconut milk. The taste of this dish was delicious. It was bit tangy and had cottage cheese in it which made the dish more delicious. This dish can serve two people.
Chocolate and coffee bomb.
This is the first time I had such an amazing desert. The combo of coffee and chocolate is perfect for a desert. Definitely a recommended dish.
Fried choco and chips.
Another awesome desert which was served with hot chocolate. The taste of fried choco is appetizing.
Beside this they have recently launched mock tails which are also worth trying.
Overall I would recommend this place for having good deserts.
Five fat monks
As name indicates , five fat monks serves Asian food with twist.
Small restaurant compared to the big shots on balewadi high street , but the restaurant have managed to utilize the small place and gave us a nice clean yet classy ambiance. Small outdoor space with 3-4 tables and a bigger and better indoor AC place is something you would like to check.
About the food - If I think about Asian food all I come in my mind is dumplings and dimsums. Nothing can be compared to these , well we observed one thing here was the dumpling were not upto the mark. It was oversteamed which made it soggy and the coating fell off. As per the owner this is the only restaurant in Pune which doesn't use Maida to make dumpling coating , they use corn starch and other stuff. Plus one to that. But because of the coating the dumpling were a big letdown.
Chicken dumplings - Soggy coating with nice juicy filling can't go hand in hand. The coating was on minced meat and it was good. The schezwan dip was the perfect thing to go with such dumplings.
Veg dumplings - A rather mild flavored filling in this dumpling than we expected.
Pepper chicken - A dry dish in which pepper and chillies were tossed with chicken chunks. It was giving more of a chili flavor than that of pepper.
Paneer chili - Typical paneer chili dish nothing great. The paneer was fresh and it was tossed with excotic vegetables in chili soy based sauce . A bit sweet tangy and slight spicy tick to the sauce was the perfect thing to go with paneer.
King Khapra - one of the best dish of our tasting. Sweet and sour sauce based minced chicken with brown rice which was topped with egg. The combination was great and I did enjoy it. Something different than regular.
Desserts -
Chocolate and coffee bomb - Dessert full of chocolate .Vanilla icecream followed by chocolate fudge .
Overall it was good experience. They need to improve the dimsum coating , other things were nice .
Good ambience, good music, very courteous staff. A little pricey
Good Options and Nice flavors.. I liked the Mixed Fried Rice and Bombay Chilli Paneer Bites. Customized flat noodles bowl was bit spicy than expected. Overall good experience and courteous staff.
Awesome black themed ambience and wonderful staff make the experience much more beautiful.
Five fat monks second branch is at balewadi high street. They have an option for indoor and outdoor seating.
I tried the following:-
Starters:-
1. Silky Dim sum Veg- As the names say silky, It sure is. The transparent well-cooked Dimsums were stuffed with green vegetables. Recommended!!
Mains:-
1. Szechuan Noodle veg- Noodles were hot, well cooked and non-sticky. Good in portion !!
2. Big Monks Special Veg- Its a combo of Szechuan flavored gravy, Fried rice, and crispy noodles. The quantity is adequate and fills the tummy well.
Dessert:-
1. Fried Choco pops- It was the desert of the day. Basically a vanilla based ice cream with hot chocolate and choco chips. Recommended!!
Overall:-
1. Staff is courteous and friendly
2. The restaurant is hygienic and clean.
3. Accepts Zomato Gold
Good food and friendly staff .
It’s an excellent Asian dinning place to go to. The decor and ambience is pretty cool too. You can customise your own wok bowl. We had flat noodles with burnt garlic sauce and rice with Hunan sauce both of which were very delicious. It’s a good place to go with your close friends and family.
Overall more than reasonably priced excellent food. A joint worth visiting frequently
The menu over here consists of good no of options to choose from Asian Cuisine. The food was amazing and we loved it. The staff was good and had suggested us with few good dishes. Moving over to the ambience, it is quite simple and vibrant with good background music being played. The service overall was good enough and price is just average.

Known for its Pan Asian cuisine, the place has various outlets across Mumbai & Pune.I visited their Baner(Pune) outlet upon invitation along with other food bloggers.
Located opposite to Balewadi High Street, the place has a cool & comfy ambience, with Chinese lanterns hung across the room.
Coming to food, the menu is an exquisite combination of Veg & Non-Veg Chinese,Thai and other Asian dishes.
Amongst the starters,Veg Spring Rolls and Veg Dimsums are good to begin with.
SPRING ROLLS were crisp from outside & flavourful inside, ideal for Indian Palate.Outer layer of DIMSUMS was very thin which let inner filling standout and give a blast of flavours so definitely recommended 👍.
Coming to Mains,we tried various options from Noodles to Baos.If you love spicy food then VEG BURNT GARLIC CHILLI NOODLES should be your pick.Noodles were non sticky & thin but tasted very much like street style Chinese food which everyone likes.
Their KHAO SUEY had all the condiments mixed together unlike other places, loved its coconutty taste.
Personally I found their version of Khao Suey better than the usual one.
Then came PANEER BAO;personally I am a Bao lover but this one was not the one which I approve. It was chewy from outside but bland from inside mostly because of Paneer being the only stuffing.
The place claims to serve the best WOKs in Pune and so we tried one.As per their 'Make it Your Way' style we had own Veg Wok with Brown Rice+ Tofu + Saiwoo Sauce+ Veggies+ other toppings. The portion size was great and loved the taste 👍.Can't say if this is best but I loved flavours.
I was pleasantly surprised seeing the variety of desserts available in an Asian Restaurant.
We had
•Crunchy Choco Sticks
•Coconut Pancakes
•Chocolate Coffee Bomb
•Mango Lemongrass jelly with White chocolate
Out of all CRUNCHY CHOCO STICKS were my favourite.MANGO LEMONGRASS JELLY was predominantly dominated by Mango in taste.
Everything we had was accompanied by Fruit Beer.
Five fat monks are located in the Balewadi high street and Seasons Mall, this place serves Chinese, Asian, Thai cuisine and In-house Wok the motive of this restaurant is to serve good quality food in a
the quantity that will fill the stomach and take less time to arrive on your table.
The place has a simple ambiance with sofa and chair seating which is really good for a big group, date, and family as well. This place serves good comfort food which will fill your stomach and will give you unique and good Chinese flavors which are really different and must try.
Let's have a look at the food which I tried here:
1. Veg spring roll - It is amazing in taste, crispy outside and soft inside.
2. Kung Pao chicken - Chicken used in this dish was fresh that I loved the most.
3. Veg Dimsums - These were dim sum stuffed with veg.
4. Chicken Dimsums - These were dim sum stuffed with minced chicken, the dimsums had a thin coating and were served with schezwan chutney, the dimsums had a really good flavor and the schezwan chutney had a spicy flavor which really came good.
5. Zen hen goes Green - This was basically boneless chicken tossed ina thick and mild sauce and was served with fried rice, this was a superb dish which came really good on the palate.
6. King Khaprao rice - This served with Keema curry and fried rice.
7. Veg Burnt Chilli Noodles - This was good and gives a real taste of Chinese food.
8. Savoury Prawns - Need improvement in this I personly don't like this.
9. Veg Khow Shuey - This restaurant has a different way of serving khow Shuey in which all the condiments are served in a bowl with rich, creamy and thick curry which has a sweet and mild flavor of coconut milk and which tingles your tastebuds.
10. Bombay chicken Bao
11. Veg Wok saiwoo sauce with Tofu.
*Drinks and Desserts*
1. Coolberg NA beer.
2. Lemon and peach ice tea.
3. Mango jelly with lemongrass.
4. Pancakes with cranberry and cream and coconut.
5. Chocolate noodle sticks.
I love all the dessert served at this place.
The ambiance is pretty good and can easily accommodate 30+.

Its a corner joint on balewadi High street which serves pan Asian food with a twist.
On our table -
Butter garlic prawns - The flavour of garlic was overwhelming the dish but personally i love Garlic in everything so thumbs up!!
Chicken Baos - minced chicken stuffed in a fresh bao . It had a smell of freshness and i loved it .
Chicken steamed momos - The thing about momos here is that is not of maida , which takes out the only non healthy part of this dish and makes it perfect!
Prawns lamb trinity - these noodles were cooked in oyster sauce. According to owner they keep it mild to keep it neutral among people at table!
Zenhen - Egg fried rice served with chicken . Now thats a whole meal . The quantity is amazing and perfectly cooked . Egg in the egg fried rice is usually overcooked but this was just perfect!
Khow suey - okay , i know people in pune love this dish and i was in my critic mode when i took onto this one here and damn this is the best one i ever had . They have twisted it up a bit from traditional khow suey by serving the noodles with already mixed gravy . It had cashews and the thing about coconut, it didn't overpower the other flavours.
Woks - so there is an option to make your own wok where you can chose from the number of ingredients, sauces, garnishing, protien and base!
We had a fish and a chicken with burnt garlic sauce . It was scrumptious!
They are recently including desserts into there menus and we were lucky enough to do their first tasting of them .
They have called up a chef who has worked in US and made up some amazzzzzzing desserts which they haven't even coined the name yet!
So there was a fried noodle coated with chocolate sauce and castor sugar . It was something new and totally master chef type.
Then there were pancakes with blueberry syrup and whipped cream with shredded coconut. WOW! This was really really good . The flavour of syrup complemented with the coconut, cream.and everything!
Now there was a bowl with a brownie and whipped cream and crunches and some chocolate chips which was again amazing.
If you go there do ask for these desserts if its not on menu yet!
Highly recommended this place and definitely the khow suey!
Delicacies from the orient have a special place in my heart. Club it with making your own wok and Indian twist to it, Voila, we have a winning combination.
Must-try.

The dessert Choco pops is sure delicious!
Overall, a good place to try various flavors of Chinese cuisine.
Nice place and good ambience.
Supportive staff with good behaviour.
Killer place if you are craving Chinese.

Balewadi High Street has slowly emerged to be one of the best locations in Pune to enjoy exotic culinary delicacies coupled with a scintillating night life and great deal of variety of restaurants and cuisines to choose from. Another gem I recently discovered in this deluge of establishments is Five Fat Monks and it left me spellbound.
🚩AMBIENCE (3/5): The ambience is not so great, but believe me; you don't want to go here for the ambience, the feel, the decor. When I say that, I mean to say that the food here supasses all other parameters and you can just enjoy the pure bliss of a wonderfully cooked meal. Being a quick service restaurant, higher emphasis has been placed on shorter kitchen to table time. The restaurant features simple yet elegant interiors, there's ample room for small and large groups and the seating is comfortable.
🚩FOOD (5/5): Amazingly wonderful!
🔺VEG DIMSUMS: A good dimsum can easily be told by looking at the texture and the thickness or shall I say thinness of the skin, the taste and choice of filling and whether it has been optically cooked. This one checked all boxes. The skin was transparent thin and filled with the choicest of exotic fresh greens steamed perfectly. The accompanying fresh Szechuan sauce added even more flavors to it.
🔺SPRING ROLLS : Just perfect, neither too oily nor dry. These crispy rolls were stuffed with a generous amount of finely minced veggies and had a great crunch to them that made it all the more appetizing. Try dipping them in the in house sauces served on the side and you're good to go!
🔺VEG BURNT RICE WITH HOT GARLIC SAUCE: A viand, if you may say. The sauce was the soul of this combination. Laden with a burst of hot, spicy, fresh flavors and plethora of fresh veggies, it tasted excellent with the rice.
🔺VEG BURNT CHILLI NOODLES: By far, one of the best noodles I've ever had and when I say that I have Westin, Mainland China, Malaka Spice in my mind for the comparison. These noodles are right up there, even better than some and are a beautiful creation of skillful cooking. The noodles had a lot of zing and prominent flavor of chillies which was balanced by the milder veggies and condiments. I highly recommend people to try this here.
🔺BURMESE KHOW SUEY: From Burma, Khow suey is a one-dish soup meal made out of noodles with coconut milk, and served with a variety of contrasting condiments. A squeeze of lemon also adds tanginess to Khow Suey. Caramelized onions, garlic, chopped cilantro, roasted peanuts, crispy noodles, lemon and chilli served with the khow suey lets you play with your dish and gives it a myriad of different flavors by mixing and matching the different items. The accompanying condiments add a plethora of various subtle flavours to the Khow Suey and lend it a very rich taste. Khow Suey I had here is one of the best I've had. The broth is creamy, rich and excellent in taste, flavors come out very well and have got perfect balance of the spices. The chilli gives it a zing and peanuts, crispy noodles make it nutty and crunchy. An excellent dish to try for mains if you're here.
🔺MAKE YOUR OWN WOK: I opted for Brown rice in Saiwoo sauce with Tofu and exotic veggies. The sauce had a sweet, spicy, tangy taste and the rice was cooked to the optimum. The taste was more towards the spicier side,so if you're a fan of spicy food, this one's for you.
🔺DESSERTS: We had the mango lemongrass Jelly, chocolate noodle sticks and pancakes with whipped cream, .After the scrumptious mains, the desserts felt blissful and comforting. I was in awe of the noodle sticks, crispy and chocolatey, they made for a great sweet tooth snack. The pancakes could've been fluffier but were fresh and loaded with cream.I liked the unique mango jelly, which was light and jiggly and the perfect way to end the meal on a high note.
🚩SERVICE (5/5): Being a quick service restaurant, the service was excellent with no qualms whatsoever. Despite being a weekend, they managed the crowd seemingly well.
🚩VALUE FOR MONEY (5/5): Prepared with the freshest of ingredients and offering a
