Nine Square India is one of the very few Vegetarian Speciality Bistros in town and it is special in more than one way:
* 𝘾𝙪𝙩𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙙𝙤𝙬𝙣 𝙤𝙣 𝙝𝙖𝙡𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙥𝙖𝙩𝙧𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙜𝙚: You need guts to have a Bistro which is dedicated only to the sectarian crowd preferring a 'Veg Only' eat out. That means you need to have the food which has something distinctly superior from the home cooked food. Nine Square nails that aspect & how !!!!
* 𝘼 𝘽𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙤 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙖𝙞𝙣'𝙩 𝙖 '𝙒𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙃𝙤𝙡𝙚': Located at an Eat Out Hub known to get maximum patronage from Corporate Professionals, in & around Yerwada, ain't it ballsy to have a place that doesn't serve cheap liquor ??? That's what I call "A Lion in the horde of Sheeps". BTW their Coffee (𝘽𝙡𝙪𝙚 𝙏𝙤𝙠𝙖𝙞) and Mocktail (Undisputably and Unarguably, Best in Town) game is as strong as it can get, either in Pune or for that matter in any A/A+ City in the Country.
* The menu is curated and the recipes are shepherded by the culinary genius of Chef Ajay Chopra, needs no introduction, does he ???
I would only give a small brief of my experience here, if I go on writing about everything that made to the table that day, it would beat 'Remembrance of Things Past' by a distant mile !!!
Mocktails: 𝙊𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙚 𝙆𝙖𝙛𝙛𝙞𝙧 𝙇𝙞𝙢𝙚 and 𝙆𝙤𝙠𝙪𝙢 𝙈𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙞; If you had a better version of these two anywhere else, your next treat would be on me. Need I say more !!!
Soups/ Salads: Don't miss out on the cockle-warming broth, '𝙏𝙝𝙮𝙢𝙚 𝙎𝙘𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙈𝙪𝙨𝙝𝙧𝙤𝙤𝙢 𝙎𝙤𝙪𝙥'. It is sheer 'Brilliance in Bowl' !!!
My choice of Salad to go along would be the hearty '𝘾𝙧𝙞𝙨𝙥𝙮 𝙏𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙖'. Look out for the Indian Twist in the Dressing of this Mexican Salad. A non-salad person recommending a salad is a testimony of its goodness in itself !!!
Starters: Close your eyes, point a finger on anything in the menu and you shall get only the best of what 'Vegeterian Starters' can offer anywhere in the country, no matter if it's in the heart of Delhi, the very origin of most starters in the menu here.
My recommendations would be 𝘾𝙝𝙖𝙖𝙩 𝘾𝙤𝙧𝙣𝙚𝙩𝙩𝙤 (Ain't the name itself chatpata enough to order it), 𝙋𝙪𝙙𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙖 𝙋𝙖𝙖𝙣𝙞 𝙋𝙤𝙤𝙧𝙞 (Look at the Picture and stop yourself from ordering it, I bet ya), 𝘿𝙖𝙗𝙚𝙡𝙞 𝘾𝙧𝙤𝙦𝙪𝙚𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙨 (The one who made Dabeli first, would be the proudest of this twist on the usual Dabeli), 𝘿𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙬𝙖𝙡𝙞 𝘼𝙡𝙤𝙤 𝙏𝙞𝙠𝙠𝙞 (Holy Mother of an Aloo Tikki, fantafuckinbulous) and last but no way the least, infact the best of the lot, 𝙎𝙢𝙤𝙠𝙚𝙙 𝘾𝙝𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙞 𝘾𝙤𝙩𝙩𝙖𝙜𝙚 𝘾𝙝𝙚𝙚𝙨𝙚 (It ain't Chinese by no means, so desi that you would love to ditch forks and lick fingers after having this with your hands, wanna take me on this ?)
Main Course at Nine Square is again an elaborate affair. Having said that, do the same as suggested in Starters and order blindly, it's that freakin' good. My absolute 'Must Have' recommendations would be 𝘿𝙖𝙡 𝙈𝙖𝙠𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙞 (Best that I have had anywhere, including Delhi, it ain't a tall statement and you would realise it only after you try it yourself), 𝙏𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙤𝙤𝙧 𝙆𝙖 𝘽𝙝𝙪𝙣𝙖 𝙆𝙖𝙙𝙝𝙖𝙞 𝙋𝙖𝙣𝙚𝙚𝙧 (Smokiest Kadhai Paneer that you can ever have, phenomenal stuff), 𝙂𝙧𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙙 𝙑𝙚𝙜𝙚𝙩𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚𝙨, 𝙈𝙖𝙘 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙈𝙤𝙯𝙯𝙖 𝙂𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙞 (Cheesy, Yummy & All things Scrummy), 𝘽𝙪𝙧𝙣𝙩 𝙂𝙖𝙧𝙡𝙞𝙘 𝙁𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙙 𝙍𝙞𝙘𝙚 (Spellbindingly good, just ooohs n aaahhhs), 𝘼𝙬𝙖𝙙𝙝𝙞 𝙋𝙪𝙡𝙖𝙤 (Fragrant, Flavorous and best of all F's).
Hi-Tea Menu had the 𝘽𝙤𝙢𝙗𝙖𝙮 𝙈𝙖𝙨𝙖𝙡𝙖 𝙎𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙬𝙞𝙘𝙝, 𝙎𝙥𝙞𝙘𝙚𝙙 𝙁𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙨 and a 𝘽𝙡𝙪𝙚 𝙏𝙤𝙠𝙖𝙞 𝘾𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙖𝙙𝙤. And believe you me, Nine Square would be your only go to place for all sort of Kitty/ GTGs after having such scrumptious delicacies in your post meal tea parties.
Desserts were as good as the entire meal, were they, NO !!! They were even better !!!
𝙈𝙖𝙡𝙥𝙪𝙖 𝙏𝙤𝙬𝙚𝙧 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙍𝙖𝙗𝙙𝙞 {No words, however the picture attached says a thousand (to the power of 10) words about this dainty delicacy}, 𝙋𝙪𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙞 𝘿𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙞 𝙆𝙪𝙡𝙛𝙞 𝙁𝙖𝙡𝙤𝙤𝙙𝙖 (WoW, Just WoW, Simply WoW), 𝙏𝙧𝙪𝙛𝙛𝙡𝙚 𝘾𝙧𝙪𝙣𝙘𝙝 𝘾𝙪𝙥𝙘𝙖𝙠𝙚 (Worth a Deluge of Drools, don't believe me, look at the picture attached) and 𝘽𝙚𝙡𝙜𝙞𝙖𝙣 𝘾𝙝𝙤𝙘𝙤𝙡𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝘾𝙖𝙠𝙚(Goodness, Gracious Me, it is indeed a 'Death by Chocolate', and how I want to die a thousand times for this).
Nine Square for me is the Epitome of Deliciousness and me being a hardcore Carnivore is saying it, then you must either believe it or if you don't believe it, go try eating a 'Humble Pie' by tasting the food at Nine Square yourself.
Cheers. Ciao !!!
