Overall it was a good experience. Only problem was the delay in getting the food. They took a lot of time.
Ate here a while back when restaurants were still open. I loved the vibe they had going with their ambience. Not too gaudy, yet it didn’t seem bland or boring. It was perfectly simple. I’m talking about the outdoor seating though, not sure how it looked inside. The food in general was really good, but I particularly liked this Thai fried rice they had. I think it’s called Pad Kaprao or something along those lines. We liked that so much we ordered two bows of it. In general a good place with a great atmosphere. I’m looking forward to go back when it reopens.
Great place for evening time simply fantastic
ambience and food taste are upto mark
garnishing and overall food decor is appealing
Baobab is one of those all rounder restaurants which serves you a variety of cuisines and drinks with an ambience suitable for dates /meetups and a prime location. As the name suggests we tried their Oriental cuisine and the taste was great. Also the service and hospitality was very warm.
What we had -
🍹Iced Mango Colada : I had this blend of mango and coconut for the first time and it was too good. The texture was just perfect, not too thick nor too thin. Both the flavours of mango and coconut with an essence of vanilla was distinguishable. A must have mocktail !!
🍘Starters :
Spanakopita is a starter for Spinach lovers like me 😍 The filling of Spinach, corn, onion and cheese inside phyllo sheets was scrumptious. The chutney they're serve alongside also compliments the pies very well. Malay Penang Cottage Cheese was diced Paneer, onion and bell peppers tossed in peanut sauce and garnished with parsley. The presentation was upto the mark and so was the taste. This was somewhat similar to chilli Paneer.
🥟Specials :
Spinach and corn dimsums : A spinach and corn mixture was stuffed inside a thin layer of rice sheet and steamed. The sheet was so thin that you could actually see the filling inside. Size was really cute and they serve it in a bamboo container. They serve 3types of dips including soya, Coriander lemon and Hunan sauce. The Chilli Paneer Bao were equally scrumptious. The rice based bao tasted sweet and the spicy filling inside proved to be a great combination. First time bao eaters should definitely give it a try.
🍰 Desserts 🥧
The intense chocolate one was a small half sphere like pastry which was actually intense in dark chocolate. It was very soft and droolworthy. I loved the fig and caramel cheesecake the most❤️ The taste of fig and caramel was evident and turned out to be amazing. They also served 4pieces of caramelized popcorn alongside. A must have dessert 😋
So my friends had suggested this place and honestly whenever I thought of Mills never imagined that there is a hidden gem over here where you can spend time with your friends or loved ones over some good food.Had visited this place for lunch along with a friend It was a completely delightful experience. Coming to the ambience, it was utterly stunning and with low light classy indoor seating and bright cheerful outdoor seating, this place offers ambience for every mood and occasion!
One can savor good food and drinks! The menu here showcases and has quite interesting options in cocktails especially the signature ones then starters to main course and not to mention lip smacking desserts!
So lets start with the food deal shall we?They have some great drinks to compliment the fabulous culinary experience.Had ordered Irish Twiddle and this was like heaven!Dark coffee and Irish whisky, nothing could have been better than this. Also Paloma Collins ;one of their signature cocktails was sought of tequilla based with grapefruit juice.Gosh! would recommend this for sure!
And so finally it was the time to dig onto their food with a relish. Let me give you a short glimpse of it:
◾Kumbh Ki Galouti: Well you must be wondering what is this! This was the best vegetarian delight and basically its like minced mushroom kebabs which was so soft and that melt in your mouth
◾Malay Penang Cottage Cheese: One thing that I was impressed :the names of the dish. Woah amazing! These were cottage cheese cubes tossed in peanut style sauce. They were good enough and each and every bite was tasty.
◾Harrisa Prawns: Being a sea food lover couldn't say no to anything that has to do with prawns! As suggested by the staff over there ,ordered this and loved this !Prawns tossed in spicy sauce. They were properly cooked!
◾Chukandari Murgh Ke Tikke: Chicken tenders marinated with beetroot!Such soft chicken pieces and blended with spices!Would recommend this
Well one thing I knew from many people that whenever you drop by here the BAO is a must have.So went ahead with Sichuan Chicken Bao. The Bao was made up of Potato starch and it was stuffed with yummy chicken with good amount of sauce and well presented! Also the Spiced Spinach And Corn Dimsums was a masterpiece! Light dumplings stuffed with fresh spinach and corn. It was yummy!
Well my bad luck couldn't try something from the main course since the starters were just too good and satisfying! So managed to save some space for dessert in the end.Went ahead with Apple Crumble and Intense Chocolate. Both were a delight to eat!
Needless to say, with an extremely hospitable and caring staff, great decor this place justifies your experience and is a great junction to come along with you friends to gorge onto some delicious food and great drinks! The presentation of each and every dish was top notch!

If you are looking for a date place, or dinner with family, or hunting for good dinner place, or want to experience a fancy dinner, Baobab is the answer! We absolutely loved this restaurant. Especially the ambience as it is located in a well made complex called 'the Mills'. The uniqueness about this place is the menu. I think the preparation is very well crafted and there is always someone from the staff helping you out for selection. The people suggesting you are very well versed with the food items and it's taste & flavours. They also ask you what your choice is and accordingly suggest and even arrange for something if it's not on the menu! The feel of this place is superb. You can sit in the open and overlook the wide area in front of the other restaurants or sit inside in the amazing chairs. I'd love to try all items from the menu!
Great food at a great price! Love the fish plates as well as the salads. Chain restaurant that doesn't feel like a chain! Love this place!
They say 'Experience the time fly @baobabpune'!!
And true to their words, @baobabpune, The Mills, you will have an explicitly smooth experience!
Their Signature Cocktails and the food menu, amazingly providing a balance of veg and non veg, is gonna leave you spellbound! The staff is absolutely brilliant and the service very prompt. What more can we ask for!
Trust us guys!!! You don't wanna miss on this!

Baobab is another venture started by the people behind NIPR and Barometer (both in Kothrud). This place has a full bar, outdoor and indoor seating, and the whole operation is just as impressive as most of the top spots in the City. It isn’t the least bit fancy, but it’s effortlessly cool, and it’s the sort of place where you can either have a full dinner or drink some beer-shot combos until the world starts to tilt.
The main reason this place is always packed is the food. At Baobab, you can eat pasta, ramen, Sinkandari Raan, and some predictably delicious Baos. The menu has a balanced variety in non-veg and veg on it and everything is simply prepared - from a home-styled "Pomodori" salad with artichokes and the perfect amount of Mutton kheema in "Mangsher Singara" that'd start a riot within Bengalis. Both of these are good things to start with, but the main course is what you’ll find yourself looking out the window and daydreaming about during your staff meeting the next day. The food is a unique mix of Asian, North Indian, and Italian, and it's perfect for when you need to eat with someone who has better taste in music and/or has visited more restaurants than you.
FOOD RUNDOWN
Iced Mango Colada ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Baobab doesn't have many options in mocktails, but the "Iced Mango Colada" piqued our interest. Mainly because Coladas are screaming flavours, so is Mango. The coconut flavor is evident in spite of the King of fruits taking the spotlight in this cold, fresh concoction made with Mango puree, coconut cream blended with vanilla ice cream and topped with one fresh mint leaf.
Jalapeno Paneer Tikka ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
There's no other dish we'd recommend to start with other than the this. A pub classic appetizer that has soft paneer cubes with crush of jalapeno and tomatoes squished between them, served alongside Mint Chutney and Onion salad. We're not over exaggerating when we say paneer is soft, just ask @foodescapes who was having a hard time keeping the Cottage Cheese on the fork for us to click a picture.
Mutton Galouti Kebabs ⭐⭐⭐⭐
For Lamb lovers out there, Baobab's Galouti Kebabs with minced mutton will feel like an engagement ring. Except you get to eat it. The kebabs are thinner than usual, but every bite comes with a burst of fabulous Awadhi cuisine flavours.
Chili Paneer Bao ⭐⭐⭐⭐
You’re committing a serious crime if you don’t get the Baos. The bun has a mild sweet taste which compliments the paneer tossed with chilli and other homemade sauces. A small amount of herbs in the recipe would add more flavors.
Black Chicken with Wine Sauce ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
They say you can tell how good a restaurant is by how well they make a chicken dish. This dish is nothing like we've eaten before. Roasted black chicken (staff will tell you the secret), covered with sauces sitting next to a stack of mashed potatoes and griled vegetables. The sauce of pepper, mushrooms, white wine is incredible. Order the bird with pride. You’ll thank us later.
Samak Harrah ⭐⭐⭐
Baobab has a few rarely available fish items on their menu. The Samak Harrah is a speciality dish from the city of Tripoli in Lebanon. The grilled fish is nicely marinated in lemon and served with a mouth watering sauce made with sesame seeds, lemon juice, garlic and regional spices. The dish isn't spicy, on the contrary it is a bit bland and has a lot of garlicky flavor to it.
Chocolate Mousse ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Baobab doesn't offer many options in desserts, apart from this and a few types of cheesecakes. The Chocolate Mousse is rich and creamy, yet light and fluffy. You'd want a bigger portion, so order two. A nice way to end a stellar meal.
The best food is here. Little expensive but worth. Innovative and interesting menu. Everything we ordered was delicious. Quick service and very friendly staff.
Sometimes you hault not for food but when u see great ambience . This happened with us last week when we entered Baobab . We started our night with their Butter beer . For appetizers we had their Chilli Paneer and Mushroom Bao . Then , Kumbh ki Galuti was mouth watering and made us enthralled . Jalapeno paneer Tikka took our heart away . When we stepped for main course we tried Dhabbe Da Bharta with garlic naan as major bread.
To make a sweet ending we had a nice fluffy Blueberry Cheese Cake at the end.
If your roaming around in Bund Garden then it's the sweet and crisp place for you .
Twice before, I went back from Baobab because of the waiting time. On Valentine's, I decided to wait it out and boy! Was it worth it! One of the few places whose ambience I loved. Not too overdone, not too understated. We sat at the bar and some exceptional cocktails were made right in front of us. The service could have been better, but hey! It was Valentine's and the stakes were high. So we understand.
Featured here: Srilankan Kottu Roti. I had never tried this before and cannot describe this in words. The generous portion size, the parotta strips and the coconut gravy took me to Sri Lanka via Kerala. An absolute must-try!
Now where are my flight tickets to Colombo?
This is a restaurant coming from the team that started the Legendary Barometer. I visited this place on a Monday evening with a few friends. Even though it being a weekday there was quite a good crowd present making the place more lively.Talking about the ambience, the restaurant has an indoor as well an outdoor seating. The outdoor seating was more of a relaxed and laid back kind of seating where you can enjoy drinks with your friends while the indoor seating had more of an elegant and classy look to it that you would get from a 5 star restaurant. Service here is probably one the best that one could get in Pune (apart from Barometer :D). All the staff has a smile on their faces and is always their to suggest the dishes as per your liking. The serving time is quite fast as well which is surprising given to their extensive menu that has quite a different variety of dishes.Coming to the main part THE FOOD!!!This place serves one of the best Asian Cuisine dishes in the city. Having decided to try something new we asked the waitress for her suggestion. Accordingly we order 2 different mocktails, a few starters, a main course and desserts.Mocktails:1.Strawberry Julep: Served in a bronze beer mug, it had a tangy taste to it and was garnished with some basil leaves. It had a sweet after taste to it and the freshness from the muddled basil. 2.Iced Mango Colada: It was frothy greenish looking mocktail served with a mint sprig on top of it. It tastes slightly similar to a pina colada but made with a mango instead of pineapple. It was quite sweet and refreshing and they flavors blended perfectly with each other.Starters:1.Malay Penang Cottage Cheese: It was the spiciest dish from our dinner. Its mainly cottage cheese cubes tossed in with the Malay peanut sauce, chilies and bell peppers and garnished with delicate shavings of scallions. The crunch from the peanuts added a different flavor to it. Highly recommended dish if you like spicy dishes. 2.Tostones and Cottage Cheese: It's a dish made up of deep fried bananas and cottage cheese. The cottage cheese squares are tossed in a mildly spiced sauce and placed on top of fried bananas which is then garnished with a fresh salsa and some micro greens. The sweetness from the bananas perfectly balances the spiciness of the cottage cheese. It was quite a unique dish.3.Sichuan Chicken Bao: Bao is basically a steamed circular flat bread in which the the filling is stuffed like a sandwich. The bao was soft and warm while the chicken was cooked perfectly making it soft and succulent. The Sichuan pepper leave a tingling sensation at the tip of your tongue when you taste it.\4.Chili Paneer Bao:It was soft and succulent Paneer chili stuffed inside the bao buns and garnished with cut scallions.5.Shanghai Chicken Dim Sum: Steamed dim sums with a translucent covering with the shanghai chicken stuffing inside were served in a bamboo steamer with a banana leaf underneath. The dimsums had a very high ratio of filling to the covering unlike the ones which have a very thick covering and very little of the filling inside it.6.Chicken Chili Oil Wantons : These chicken wantons were served in a nutty sauce similar to the malay type. It was a spicy but flavorful sauce garnished with delicately sliced scallions.7.Sungta Song Prawns:This was one of the best prawn prawn preparations that I had eaten until now. Succulent and fresh prawns tossed in the sungta sauce which had an array of Indian spices added to it and served with a lemon wedge. Highly Recommended Dish!! Main Course: 1.Lao Gan Ma Noodles: After having eaten a lot of different varieties of starters we still had some space left in our stomachs for the noodles. This dish was a type of stir fry noodles with mushrooms, baybcorn, scallions and crushed peanuts tossed in a different sauce which they call as Grandmas Sauce.Desserts:1.Nutty Chocolate: A bar of fudgy brownie covered with hazelnut ganache and sprinkled with some crushed nuts. Due to the fudgy brownie it has a chewier texture. Its a must have dessert for a chocolate lover.2.Mango Cheesecake: This was served in a rather unusual way than your regular cheesecake. It had a circular crust made up of Multigrain biscotti and oats rather than simple digestive biscuits which had a sphere of the cheesecake with a glossy layer of mango pulp on it. It had delicate mango flavor in the inside. Filter Coffee: Having almost slipped into the food coma from having eaten a variety of delicious dishes the waitress still insisted us on trying their filter coffee which they had recently introduced in their menu. It was a perfect palate cleanser after the wholesome meal.I would Highly Recommended this place!!!Ratings:Ambience: 5/5Service: 6/5 :DTaste: 5/5
My partner in crime with whom you had experimented in a hell lot of things, requested me to take him on a kinda lunch date thing. I thought of the Mills and especially Baobab for the same. Impressed by its ratings and reviews, finalized it for lunch. The ambience is quite serene and cosy. For the people planning to visit in the evening can opt for lovely outdoor seating. Service is also quite impressive. The menu was well curated with north Indian, Italian and Asian dishes.
Now lets come to food and drinks. I tried one cocktail named Punica Julep. Its a mix of pomegranate juice and elderflower syrup with gin, orange liqueur and fresh rosemary stick. Very refreshing and soothing.
In starters, we ordered Mutton Galouti Kebab, Chicken and Mushroom Bao, Jalapeno Paneer Tikka, Chukandari Murg ke Tikka.
Mutton Galouti Kebab: Galouti Kebab means the melt-in-the-mouth delicacy. The minced mutton Kebab did justice to the name. It was delicious and really tender and melted in the mouth
Chicken and Mushroom Bao: Bao is a type of steamed, filled bun made with yeast. We choose the filling of chicken and Mushroom. Perfectly balanced and cooked, it's a must-try starter.
Chukandari Murg Ke Tikka: This appetizer was awesome and delicious. Worth-trying. The chicken was cooked amazingly and was really tender.
Jalapeno Paneer Tikka: This starter is a combination of crumbling paneer and the crunch of jalapeno. This was really appetizing and yummy.
Black Chicken with Wine Sauce: In the main course, only one dish which was really lip-smacking. The chicken was perfectly roasted and simmered in wine sauce. This is also worth trying the dish.
Intense chocolate: The dessert was really finger-licking and lip-smacking. Intensely creamy and intensely chocolaty. And it's very yummy.
Overall experience was amazing. My ratings:
*Food:4.5/5
*Service: 4.5/5
*Ambience: 5/5.
I went here with a friend on Friday and I just loved this place. To start with it's very spacious, they have an outdoor as well as indoor seating with a nice ambience. And the menu is soo different, it's a treat for all those who love to experiment. So, for starters we had Spanakopita and Chicken Buldak and then in mains Mantar Sote and Brown Chicken Stew Pasta. In cocktails we tried Butter beer (there you go potterheads). I would recommend everything that I had but there's so much to explore so try to have as many dishes as you can. By the time we reached dessert we are so full we couldn't have any, so I am definitely going back to try some of those. Also, the quantity is huge. The staff is super friendly too. This place has a nice vibe and a is a great place for celebrations, special occasions or just a casual dine out with friends and family. I say this is a must visit!

Went there for dinner last Sunday. Ambience here is calm and serene. They ve got both indoor and outdoor seating arrangements. A perfect place to spend some quality time with frnds and family.
I went for Butter beer cocktail - Frothy butter on top gives that nostalgic #makhan feels. Its a Buttery-Scotchy flavored cocktail with bear of course. It's got to be one of the tastiest cocktails ever.
In starters we went for
Fish fingers - It was perfectly crispy and potato wedges came along with that. With the sauce it was heavenly.
Chicken and Mushroom Bao - With Bao I like Savory stuffings. This however was seasoned with a sweet sauce. The stuffing was good but didn't go well with the Bao.
In mains we tried
Chicken Hyderabadi Biryani - Loved the long slender aromatic rice in this one. It was so yum.
Didn't have space for desert for a change, but yes butter beer definitely made up for it.
Baobab is located centrally in the plush "The Mills". The stand out facade dotted with cute seat outs with the umbrella shades gives it the classy Santorini feels. The white pastel shade like features adds to the entire charm. Since it was afternoon time, we preferred to sit inside which again is very elegantly and artistically done. The seating arrangement is comfy and well spaced out with ambient lighting that soothes you in. The menu is quite extensive and the attendants are prompt and courteous with their service. They are knowledgeable about the menu and it helps if you aren't sure what to order. From what we ordered, I can safely bet that anything ordered off the menu is a hit. Just enlisting a few things * Chocolate Martini - Very subtle flavours of chocolate infused coffee liquer. This was the star for me. * Butter beer - Ordered this just for the hype around it and it truly didn't disappoint. * Iced mango colada - Non alcoholic beverage and the one which makes me want to go back. *Sungta song - being a saraswat goan, this one caught my fancy and trust me when I say it was good. A little overpowered by coconut flavour but juicy. * Sui mai dimsums - A mixture of prawns and chicken filling in dimsums. This was legit the best dimsums I had with their signature dips : Sambal sauce, Soya chilly & Mint chilly sauce. Just the coating was a bit delicate to contain the filling. * Chicken bao - The filling was extremely delish and had the perfectly coating. *Machhuara Seekh kabab - The classic Seekh kabab made up of minced fish and serving of pudina chutney. * Two berry cheese cake - Extremely soft and melt in the mouth cheese cake just the way it should be. * Intense chocolate mousse - Do I even need to say something? Just look at the picture. Overall, it was a culinary masterpiece served to us and the gastronomical gods were gushing on how good it is. A multi-cuisine affair which took me on a high of its own. Highly recommended. Abhidnya Unhale

This place is remarkable. Food is delicious and ambiance is very elegant. What stood out about the place was the staff especially Matthew Abraham. I highly recommend this guy if you’re going out on a date or with your friends.
I visited Baobab yesterday and everything I had was spot on! Other than the food, we were taken care of very well by Mathew Abraham. He helped us pick the best food according to our taste, and his knowledge and prompt service was something I’ve never witnessed elsewhere. Kudos to the amazing staff, brilliant ambience and delicious food!
Recommend : Panner Tikka Bao , Butter Beer , Hoisin Chicken , Chocolate Cheesecake
Nice place to fine dine with friends and family in nice ambience and tasty food. Staff is very courteous and service is also quick. Bao is a chinese bread and goes well with any medium spiced vegetable . Butter beer is rum mixed with beer topped with butterscotch and cream, is a must have here .
Been to this place to celebrate new year. And it was a nice find.there is ample of space around to chill & relax and good parking space too. The restaurant has outdoor sitting which was nice. The food was really good. The soups were average but ingredients quality was good. Portion are really huge so worth the price which seem to be little on higher side. But given the location and quality it's worth the penny. I would recommend this place for sure
We were a gang of 12 people and let me tell you honestly satisfying all 12 of them collectively is something which can be called as RARE.
The ambience is something which I would say is more of a credit to the entire concept of THE MILLS.
Let me talk about the food and the beauty in it!
We have had a lot of conti/world cuisine dishes around the city but this just happens to be one of the best till date! The quality, quantity and the simple yet classy design is something that will be in your mind for ever. The cocktails were amazing and the butter beer was just the way one idealizes it to be. Please find the 'what did you love' section in my review which will leave you in bliss everytime for sure. We visitied yesterday i.e. the 1st of Jan,2020 and we can very well say that we loved the start to our year now!
P.S. It's a must try!
The area The Mills is very good. The Restaurant too is fantastic. They have an outside & inside sitting. Ambience too is fantastic. The Quinoa & Beet Salad was fantastic. The pastas & the Thai food was also great.
With all the party places around in the mills, baobab gives you the opportunity to have quiet dinner with family. Great ambience and decor. Ample sitting place.

Back chicken with wine sauce
Food and drinks didnt disappoint at all ! They were great. Couldnt wait to try other stuff from their extensive menu.
Special to the friendly and polite staff.
Baobab deserves every bit of the 4.7 rating that it has. Amazing fusion food, super quick service. Worth coming back again to - again and again. This rest has climbed to Top 10 list instantly.
I liked their variety of cocktails. Enjoyed the blue tea gin. Also tried the edamame which was quite good. Even the Paneer starter tasted absolutely wonderful. The chilli Paneer bao was good but can be worked on. The ambiance is nice and lit up. It’s a wonderful place.
Chilli Paneer Bao & Kumbh ki galouti the best start to start your meal
Burnt garlic edamame which is kind of diet bhel was bit bland and bit hard to diggest
Mocktail know as cucumber collins is a mojito drink with cucumber flavour in it
Main course is superb in taste and has a great quantity to fulfill your tatse buds - Basil Rice with Hongshao Dofu

Well on 5th dec I went here since my husband’s site work was nearby.. I had 45-50minutes time to wait for him so I preferred going here.. I didn’t want to eat or drink much since I was unwell.. There were certain issues I had which were excellently looked after by Mr Mathews.. He was very polite & extremely sweeet.. It was a great experience & totally my pleasure to be here.. Looking forward to come back.. Thank you so much for such an excellent service.. Special mention without any doubt for Mr Mathews 😁
I had a beautiful experience! From the food to the service everything was perfect. The atmosphere here is very calm and best fine dining.

The staff took great care.
Thankyou for an amazing night!
Just for this Sikandari Raan you can come here everytime best mutton dish ever had kuddos to baobab team ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️they have outdoor as well as indoor seating both .
This is by far the best place I have come to for a birthday lunch. It might look empty on a weekday afternoon, but don't let that fool you. I had the privilege of enjoying the best prawn dish I have ever sampled, aka the Sung-ta son, courtesy our waiter who guided us very well through the menu, even going so far as to tell us not to over-order anything. Although the drinks and hot and sour soup were average at best, the rest of our meal was nothing short of perfection. We started off with jalapeno paneer tikka. Trust me, I have never sampled anything like it before. It was refreshing, fiery and the paneer was melt in the mouth soft. A very innovative twist to your regular tikka made me fall in love with it.
And of course the Sung-ta Son prawn was bliss. It was almost reminiscent of authentic Thai flavours which the spicy paste provided. Had this place been on Gold, I would have ordered more of it.
My main course was bajan chicken. Having never tried bajan style meat before, I was curious to sample it. I wasn't disappointed. The presentation was superb and the almost pesto like bajan seasoning was quite nice to have alongside the sticky rice with the dish. Kolhapuri mutton was also quite well made. A special thumbs up goes to the intense chocolate and fig cheesecake desserts which provided a good ending to our meal.
One thing is for sure, this restaurant made my birthday quite a special one!
We ordered these from the menu and we absolutely enjoyed the food. The fog and caramel cheesecake tasted really good not too sweet nice and creamy with caramel popcorn. The khushrao chicken kababs tasted really good too. Soft and tender chicken pieces. The shawarma pizza with a thin crust is a must eat. The ambience is really good too with an open kitchen. Little heavy on the pocket. Otherwise their food, staff and place is really good😁
Went here for dinner on a weekday. Chilli paneer bao was really good (and really spicy). Veg Margherita pizaa was good as well. The Butterbeer is a rum cocktail with ice cream and caramel and had a strong rum taste. Spicy bloody Mary was really good. I liked that their coasters had quotes by different authors. A good experience overall.
Everything was amazing......just wished the service was quicker and the noodles were a little less spicy otherwise a very nice experience we had.....the food was delicious!
My favourite place in the mills, a very relaxing place for having a break, I use to go each week to overcome the weekly stress and delight the amazing service and food
This was a very fancy place. Very good quality of ingredients used. Top notch interiors and ambience. I had a wonderful time here. The baos were possibly the best I have eaten, in India. The chicken spring roll with the mango sauce was lovely too. 8/10 would reccomend
was eyeing this place for a very long time and finally got time on a friday night andddd it was their jazz night...amazing food and the live music was a cherry on the top...had a very refreshing cocktail blue tea gimlet by shubham meisnam...courteous staff and the outdoor sitting area is just amazing.
Delicious food, most tender chicken ever, amazing cocktails, german snipper is a must try made by shubham meisnam..
This place is very good in terms of ambience and most importantly taste of food. Stuffs were also very cordial and since this was our first visit the stuffs help us to choose the best food served here and must say all was spot on.
The ambiance of this restaurant is very warm and the staff are very welcoming. There is a common parking outside for all the restaurants in there. They have both indoor and outdoor dining facilities.
For cocktail we ordered Chocolate Martini and Cosmopolitan. I liked the chocolate Martini more as it had the taste of Irish cream and vodka. The Cosmo was as good as any regular Cosmopolitan drink.
For mocktail we ordered Iced Mango Colada
Which I personally loved the most as it had mango puree along with vanilla ice cream and the hint of fresh mint in it. We also ordered Blue Sapphire which was very refreshing. Starters comprised of Burnt Garlic Edamame which is a japanese protein rich dish and was a treat to the taste buds with burnt garlic and spring onions and worth trying. Next is Panch Phoran Kebab where the paneer is marinated with panch phoran masala mix. The taste was very yummy and one of the best paneer starters I have tasted till now. After that we ordered Spiced Spinach N Corn dimsums which were made of potato starch and generously filled with a mixture of finely chopped spinach and corn. Main course comprised of Chili Paneer Bao which had a very well balanced taste of spices and was very yummy. Next was Jamaican Curried Veg Pasta which was a yummy white sauce pasta with veggies and I must say the taste was unique and still lingering in my mouth. Lastly, for desserts we had Nutty Chocolate which is a must try for all the chocolate lovers and Two Berry Cheesecake that was very yummy and creamy with a tangy Berry taste in it.
I must say that one must obviously pay a visit since it has both awesome ambiance and good food.
I've been to this place with my family on Monday evening,
Such a beautiful place in pune unique ambiance and the most important for me is service of the restaurant.
It was really great experience at baobab.
Wish you all the best to team Baobab and keep it up .😊😊😊
We ordered the paneer bao, prawns and the penne with white sauce. The food was very very good and we managed to wipe our plates clean. The service was courteous and friendly. We are definitely going back.
Food: 5/5
Service: 5/5
Beverage: 4/5
Ambience: 4/5
Baobab is an incredible restaurant that has specially curated live jazz music on Fridays. The classy decor compliments its incredible food really well. While. It might not look like a place you want to order pizza, I say go for it! It's something I keep going back to for a pocket friendly meal. Baobab also does a really great selection of middle eastern/ African cuisine. Try the Mansaf if you're feeling adventurous. The Singapore chilly prawns make a great starter.
The bar menu doesn't disappoint either. They have some mean mixologists in the house! Try the butter beer if you fancy a sweet desserty drink (Tip: share it with someone.. It's massive).
Hospitality wise you cant fault the place. The wait staff is always smiling and are on hand as soon as you need to place that order.
This place should be on everyone's must visit!
Had a great time at Baobab! The staff is courteous and helpful at recommending amazing dishes , ambience is lovely and Food was to the point. Been there for a fourth time, and have had no regrets. Good vibe alongwith family too !
Baobab is open in new area of The Mills. The Mills has other restaurants as well.
It has both alfresco and indoors seating area and has large space to cater. Ambiance is cool and has all sorts of cuisine and a lengthy menu. Service is fast and the person attending us was good.
We ordered lot many dishes and we liked them all except one item which was not served well but was replaced on our request. We had Edamame and black fungi, jerked chicken rolls, lemon grass chicken, cappucino fungi trifol, supa supu, spanakopita, mushroom po boy bao, bianco pizza, burnt garlic veg noodles and date pancakes. Everything was delectable except bianco pizza whose base was hard.
There was a mistake on their end where they billed a cheesecake which we didn't order so they accepted it when we raised this.
Had a very good experience at baobab. Very friendly staff and good ambience. I ordered baby potatoes in South indian style and jalapeno paneer tikka . Both the starters were awesome and mouth melting. In main course I ordered Burnt garlic rice and Kung pao vegetable which was very delicious
Inspire of dry day the place had live music with non alcoholic beverage with different flavoured of ice tea. Definitely suggest the place to visit for foodies. Remarkable service with great hospitality...
Thanks u all.
Went there for lunch today. Amazing experience, superb ambience, food and hospitality. Will visit again soon.. Cheers..
Had amazing time last night. Thank you guys. You made my day special
Everything served with a different taste. Here all are well trained to suit every customer's flavor. Their starting with boiled peanuts is awesome. If you are in a party mood with friends and family go for it.
Visited Baobab for lunch. Had an exceptional dinning experience.
Ordered lemon grass chicken and jerked chicken rolls for starters
Metapa, chicken yassa, berbere chicken and lamb- Shiraz pie for main course. Each dish stood out.
Quantity of the dishes were huge. Extremely happy with the service and the staff were very helpful. Will definitely visit again!
Located in the Mills, this is one gastronomical affair. With just the right ambience and not harsh on the ears music, they've pulled off a sweet setting with elegantly done interiors and seating arrangement. The food is absolutely impeccable, from the presentation to the taste. Starters, cocktails, desserts, anything you order off the menu is a culinary bliss. The attendants are knowledgeable about the dishes and are extremely courteous & warm. Highly recommended.
Baobab is a tree found in the African continent, having an enormous trunk capable of storing water in the rainy season, to sustain drought. Known as 'The Tree of Life', every part of this tree is valuable.
Ambience:- Ohhh don't get me started on the ambience of this place, it's hands down charismatic and it's filled with captivating things which will blow your mind, a gorgeous tree, a small peanut stall, delightful tables with unique names and much more.
Food:- They have a very cute tradition of serving boiled peanuts until your food comes to your table and they prepare that on a very pretty cart which I found very vintage and authentic.
We ordered so many dishes in both veg and non veg and almost all the dishes left us wanting for more. Some of the dishes we ordered were:-
* Dal Pakwaan
*Jalapeno Paneer Tikka
*Cappuccino Fungi Trifolati Soup
*Chilli Paneer Bao
*Aloha Sling
*Mulberry Spritzer
*Broccoli Cauliflower Alfredo
*Intense Chocolate
*Mango Cheesecake and much more.
Quality:- Everything was absolutely top notch, I really enjoyed the crisp garlic bread, Al Dante pasta, soft baos which will melt in your mouth, fantabulous desserts and the exceptional presentation.
Service:- The best and the most outstanding service I've ever seen 4 people were ready and on their toes, they absolutely made sure that we had an splendid evening.
Hygiene:- The place was really hygienic and they were very careful about every small detail and that is a very important factor for me., the plates were changed after every cost and everyone was in proper attire to give an experience of a life time.
Cost:- I would say I wouldn't even think once about the cost after such a magnificent experience.
i would highly recommend this place.
Baobab is named after a very useful tree from African continent and Australia . A newly setuped restaurant right at the heart of Pune in RBCC . The place attracts you right from the entrance . I love the way they have come up with everything , right from restaurant branding to food variety .
It was my first encounter with baobab since I am visiting few of the restaurants regularly In the Mills. experience is very fresh and beautiful .
Let's start with food :
# FOOD :

What a great starter, a cottage cheese cooked with Malay style masala crushes peanuts come up with mouth watering taste. A sure recommandation .
Panch phoran Kebab :
These paneer starter is worth having in list cooked with 5 aromatic spices of funnel seeds. its not taste like a regular paneer starter . This is something you should taste and experiece. Super yummy.
Spices Spinach and Corn Dim Sums :
A lovely combination of Spinach and corn taste bit sweet and good recommendation if you are accompanied with kids. Not taste so great comparing with above two starters but Dimsum is something different with taste as well. In fact a good combination of starter with some spicy culinary.
SALADS -
Sunshine -
Sunshine salad gives a beautiful feeling that you are at a great eatery in Pune. So we'll tossed up with mustard and Mango sauce a great combination I have ever experienced in salad category. I must thank captain who has suggested us this great .. great... Salad . A way perfect dish. Loved it and highly recommended.
MAIN COURSE :
Paneer ke Pasande with flavoured Naan -
If you have so much of starters before main course I Bet that you can't have more for your taste buds . But this paneer ke Pasande made me have another naan and trust me it was so yumm that I haven't resisted my self to finish this superb dish. Great work guys.
MOCKTAILS :
Strawberry Julep :
A good mocktails giving real taste of 🍓 and poised great with mint leaves. A good choice . Not so sour neither sweet . A well prepared mocktail again.
Vergin Mojito :
Nothing to say about this institutional mocktails . You nailed it .
RICE :
Hyderabady Biryani :
A great curated taste and a house speciality is a good treat for rice lovers . And never disappoint you with authentic taste.
DESSERTS :
Nutty Chocolate :
You simply can't complete a memorable dinner without a good dessert . Nutty chocolate is a good choice and signature dessert from house. Nicely balanced though it is a chocolate but sweetened well.
# AMBIENCE :
An urban interior design with good ventilation in house make your dining experience so we'll . A cozy place , well-managed and comfortable sitting made me sit here for around 2 hours . Very much comfortable . Having a good provision for any type of sitting . No matter whatever will be the number .
#SERVICE :
A well-mannered & friendly staff . Thoroughly professional .
#MUSIC :
First of all a good cozy sitting then great food and professional staff accompanied with soothing nice music compliments a great ambience and creates happiness . May be coz i have visited on Friday . Baobab : Used in foods because of its nutrients, possible health benefits, and as a natural preservative.
.
Baobab is a newly opened cafe bar in the wide area of the Mills . Situated behind sheraton grand this place has something to say about .
The place gives you the vibes of internal specific fine dine and outer seatings are like on the beaches , wide , open , full of greens , tent like decor and a tree in middle .
.
The place has a gigantic bar counter with more than accomdative drinks you can think of . Serving some never seen before mixology and presentation of the drinks .
.
The food here is commendable starting from the bar bites , to the appetizer to the main course and desserts .
We had a great chance to dine here with good atmoshpere outside which complemented it very well . Mentioning to be as good edamame with burnt garlic , nkcley fried and marinated to keep if soft and delicious .
The spanakopita , a star shaped veg appetizer filled with gooey cheese and spinach , crunchy in outside , cheezy in the inside .
.
The 3 mushroom pasta served with garlic breads was another fantastic dish from them . Laterly we had paneer chlli bao , stuffed very well , bao was commendable as to say more than soft and good .
.
We ordered here 2 Berry cheesecake , which was more like mousse in texture and was topped with raw dry fruits amd seeds .
.
Overall a great place to hangout , with wide spread area , good hospitality , fast service and eco-friendly natural vibes out there .
.
Go Enjoy !!
Coming out of Monday blues we reached this place fighting hustle bustle of Monday traffic and what a relief entering such a wide spreaded The Mills area and this white attrative banner of Baobab itself attracts you in.

Ambience - 5/5
Food - 5/5
location -4/5
Service -5/5
Overall experience-5/5
Cocktails/ Mocktails:
Ordered Hawaiian Punch and Butter Beer. Hawaiian Punch had run with a fun taste of orange and coconut.
Food:
Dal Pakwaan - Hate the oily, unhealthy 'chakana' along your drinks? Baobab has this as a fantastic substitute with chana dala, chutneys , pomegranate and crunchy crackers. Also this dish definitely gives you the satisfaction of choosing a healthy but also a tasty option.
Jalapeno Paneer - Hands down one of the finest & fresh paneer I have had so far. Extremely soft and delicious this dish can be a little heavy.
Mushroom Po Boy Bao - Personal favorite! To my surprise mushroom in this was crunchy unlike multiple mushroom dishes I have had.
Spiced Spinach N Corn dimsum - well cooked and delicious. Not many places get dimsum cooked the right amount. This was not to chewy , not to stuffed, just the right amount. All points for the unique spinach and corn filling.
Tostones & Cottage Cheese - Tried this Puerto Rican and I have no regrets.
Burmese Khao Suey- No enough words to describe the delicious curry of this dish. This has coconut milk curry with garlic noodles which blend in to make it just the right amount of spicy and sweet.
Burnt Garlic Edamame - An east Asian cuisine with immature soyabean. The health freak in me loved it. I liked the presence of water chestnuts in these. But would like to see a little more of burnt Garlic flavor in this.
Desserts:
Intense Chocolate - This was an intensely enlightening dessert. Just like they promised they delivered it extremely creamy and chocolatey. Soft and consistent throughout.
Staff:
Extremely warm staff. Highly professional waiters. They let me choose a table of 6 for a company of 2. That barely happens. But the minute you enter here you know you are going to be treated well.
Ambience:
This is quite a spacious place with beautiful ambience. They have outdoor seating too. Baobab has enough space to fit in a team for too.
I visited this place last week it is located in center city at The Mills and found it amazing and Baobab is enormous. Parking space, indoor section, outdoor section, couple section, family space, bar – everything in one place.
An absolute gem of a club and an absolute gem of a restaurant.
As soon as you enter you get mesmerized but the amazing vibes this place has to offer.
With the addition of The Mills vibes, the weekends for the people living nearby are sorted.
They have a bar an indoor and an outdoor setting is also good.
The outdoor space is huge with ample amount of seating space.
The drinks are trippy, exotic and majestic.
I have tried the following dishes -
Starters and main course -
*Gilafi Kebab
*Khusrao Chicken Tikka
*Chicken Buldak
*Aloha Sling
*Nati Koli Fry make spicy
*Salli Boti
*Naans Flavoured btr+garlic
*Jeera Rice
Cocktails -
*German Snipper Liit
*Margarita
*Mojito
*Goan Soul
*Blue Tea Gimlet
Desert -
*Two Berry Cheesecake Mango
*Cheese Cake
Summing up, food was finger-licking good and drinks.....
I have real hopes with this place. Hope they do good.
It was the happiest day for my friend and me as we got placed. And we wanted to celebrate it. So we went through places on Zomato finally decided to dine in at Baobab. I reserved the table prior.
At the entrance we were greeted by the staff of the restaurant. The table was already arranged for us. The guy at the entrance escorted us to our table. And as we entered inside,we were welcomed by this amazingly warm and elegant indoor ambience of the restaurant with this huge seatings. Every staff present inside greeted us with the smile.
We finally were seated. And as soon as we seated,we were offered the 'moongfallis' as welcome finger food.
Then with this huge smile on the face, the waiter handed over the menu card to us. I was so delighted to see their menu card. The menu card had all dishes described in details right from the ingredients to spices. So we had very less doubt about the dish and how is it gonna be. So in a very less time we ordered the food.
1.) Cocktails and Mocktails.
We ordered Hawaiian punch in cocktail. It contained rum blended with tanginess of orange and sweetness of coconut.
In mocktails we ordered Sapphire Fizz. Blend of pineapple fizz mixed with coconut served extremely chill. I would suggest that there should be less mixture of coconut juice since it dominated the taste and I could feel less pineapple flavour in it.
But overall I term it Oh-be-Joyful 😄
2)Starters.
In starters we asked the waiter to suggest us some dishes. So after considering his suggestion,we ordered jalapeno paneer tikka,Kumbh ki Galouti and Shanghai chicken dimsums.
In Jalapeno paneer tikka, the paneer were amazingly tender and soft. The texture of the paneer was consistent throughout and it could kinda melt in your mouth. The first bite into your mouth gives you the feel of crunch of jalapeno with the paneer. This starter was very heavy on stomach.
Then Kumbh ki galaouti. Now this was something new,yet interesting for us. We were excited for kinda presentation they made. Kumbh ki Galouti were the kebabs of finely chopped and minced mushrooms. Even this was very soft and you could feel all the flavours as soon as you take a bit Outta it.
I suggest it to be a bit more juicy.
And we had Shanghai chicken dumplings. The chicken was so finely cooked. The dish was served hot and steamy and every bite tells you about the freshness of chicken used. Try this along with the sauces to add to the taste.
4) Main course.
Since we were very high on the starters,we decided to go with single maincourse. So we ordered Moroccan Vegetable Tangine. This is North African dish,as the name suggest, comes with fresh veggies cooked properly in tomato stew. The dish is slow cooked in traditional earthenware dish.
The veggies are not too much cooked as it could loose it's flavours. They were perfectly cooked and served with very delicious khus khus. You would enjoy this dish as it was both a bit sweet and sour.
This was my favourite dish among all the one. But I would suggest that the quantity of the khus khus against that of the veggies should be more.
But other than that, the dish was a perfect treat to us.
4) Dessert.
There is no happy ending without desserts. And chocolate is a treat on the trail. We ordered intense chocolate cheesecake. This is one of the most amazing cheesecake I have ever tried. Very soft and consistent texture throughout. The amount of chocolate was very accurate. Inside you could see the layers of chocolates. A must try one.
It was an amazing experience at this restaurant due to its staff. So friendly and ready to help. There wasn't a moment, were I had to wait for them to come over. They were always available near you to help. Also the service was quick for the kinda dishes we ordered.
The restaurant has also got an outdoor seating with a huge tree in the centre adding to its ambiance.
They have got this huge Oriental, continental, African, Italian and many more cuisines to try from.
The restaurant has good clean and seperate washrooms for ladies and gent..
You would not find this restaurant easy on you
