Lovely food. Heavenly for people who love Maharashtrian food. It's good to dine in here but the delivery options are also good enough.
The slow cooked Raan is simply fantastic - Juicy and the meat is cooked thoroughly. Ask for a special spicy Raan which is really kicking
Keeping it short, simple and sweet.
There is nothing like this place anywhere else.
The most tastiest' silence of the dining table.
The food has proper Gavran mutton / chicken taste .
The service is good.
Good parking space.
The decor is authentic yet best .
Had always been in search of a place where carnism could be more about rearing. Serving life of an animal while mentioning it's well-being origin and handling makes it indeed palatable. Ordered 3 Maharaja Thalis, and a paya soup. Mutton Maharaja thali included four meat preparations, a biryani, raita, bhakri/chapati with unlimited alni and tambda rassa accompanied with a balancing solkadhi and a dessert to finish with (jalebi). Chicken Maharaja had a similar meat equation with three dry to semi dry entrées, each having it's distinct flavour. Although the meat quality was phenomenal the seasoning could have been more better and balancing! More vegeterain options would help them stand out amidst the increasing Thali restaurants in town. This rustic place has a retro and homely feel. Would rate this place a 7/10 for food, ambience and service. Worth giving a shot once.
(Tip - Maharaja Thali depends on your appetite so be wise in choosing your protein. )
Virendar’s service was excellent amazing jobbb very impressed
Best Chicken Thali in Pune.
I wanted to try this thali after reading it's reviews... Went there in weekend for lunch
Ordered Chicken thali and Biryani.
Chicken thali: Typical maharashtrian Chicken Thali with loads of Flavours. It is not very spicy but very tasty.
3 piece in chicken Sukka i.e . Dry chicken in masala ... Consider this as starter in thali.. it good.
3 piece in chicken masala/curry . Thick curry with very good taste. 5 out 5 for preparation.
Red curry / Tambda Rassa: very subtle.... Doesn't burn the taste pallate.
Alani rassa or chicken broth: my kids loved this. Really good n simple stock
Bhakari
BIRYANI: VERY different biryani than usual Hydrabadi biryani with their own touch... Must try
All preparations are authentic. It does not create acidity or burning sensation after having this which usually happens when u have other Chicken Thalies.
If u want to taste how real maharashtrian thali taste like then visit this.
I will come here next time to try their Ala carte menu.
Ambiance - Good... Cool atmosphere even in afternoon...
The best place to have a non veg thali is Ahilyadevi thali. This is a gem of a place to enjoy Maharashtrian cuisine.
The thali which we tried is a Maharaja Thali which includes Chicken Dhangari, Chicken kalvan, Chicken Masala, Boiled Egg, Egg Masala, Aalni Vati & Tambda rassa vati ( unlimited ), Chapatis, Dum Biryani, Solkadi, Koshimbir and Jalebi.
Every dish had a very unique taste and had different kinds of flavor in it. Just loved the food. ❤️😍
We went to this place with a friend , just a reminder mutton preparations are typical mahrashtrian dhangari ... you need to develop taste for it , no harm in trying though ..
This type of food dont usually have cream based gravies or sweetness to gravies.
We went for dinner so enjoyed ambience , we liked paya soup , biryani and mutton thali , we also had paneer pakoda.
Prices are little on higher side but portion sizes are good.
Situated in the interiors on Pune at a place called katraj, this is a gem of a place to enjoy maharashtrian cuisine.
Their specialities include the lamb thali and the sikandari raan, apart from these two dishes you have plenty of options to choose from.
We tried their starters and main course and heres what we have to say about them.
1. Lamb rib chops - These rib chops were crispy from the outside and soft on the inside. The flavour was a little bland but we advise you to eat it with the green chutney served.
2. Loin chops - These chops were spicy in taste and were a better option compared to the rib chops. Served with salad and green chutney.
3. Chicken grilled tandoori - These chicken legs were delicious and the taste of cheese just added a different flavour to it. The quantity was 6 pieces. Serve with salad and green chutney.
4. Chicken kadhai curry and roti - The best way to enjoy this curry is with chapati. The size of the chapati is huge hence please think twice before ordering in bulk. The taste of the chicken was not so great. There was too much oil in the curry and the spices did not blend well. Not a dish we would personally recommend.
Also along with the meal we had solkadi which was refreshing.
The ambience is great and the staff are polite and the service is fast
A good place to satisfy your tastebuds
Classic maharaja mutton thali, worth spending for this long awaited visit. Delicious lamb, authentic taste. A must visit place for chop and mutton lovers. This is a sharing dish and must be devoured with fellow carnivores.Lamb kalvan was just finger licking taste. Nice decor, wooden tables makes the atmosphere for a lovely afternoon or evening with friends and family.
I had visited this place on 9th Jan for dinner. I'm a big of mutton thali s in Pune Satara Kolhapur regions.
But Ahilyadevi s mutton thali is just class apart. It is so good aesthetically that you feel real hungry. The mutton balls dish is to a die for. It's so juicy and yummy that you cant resist having some more.
All delicious food is accompanied by great service staff too. Good job guys. Keep it up. See you soon.
Awesome taste.. Best place for non veg lovers.. Interior is quiet impressive and unique.. Friendly staff and very attentive.. Not so expensive restaurant.. Love to visit again..
Food was good and testy, also service is Good and fast.
Ahilyadevi's Thali has set a standard in maharashtian cuisine.. special mention to the staff namely Virendra, Sourabh and the Manager Kunal who always make the experience very warm and welcoming.. the mutton dishes here keep you coming back for more..
You can't get better than this. Mouthwatering food and very good service. Must visit place, see you soon again. Once again ......................... The food was killer 😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋.

Ahilyadevi's Thali
This place is located near Katraj highway has my heart. Not only the food but the plants as well add more beauty to this place. Sturdy furniture with greens everywhere will definitely please you. Once you step in the pleasant vibe will make you feel like home. Overall this place is very inviting. Service is indeed on point.
Coming back to what foodiesoulmates hogged on-
Lamb paya soup- Best for winters and indeed before a meal, as it warms up your tummy. It was very comforting and rich at taste.
Maharaja Lamb Thali- It's a huge thali indeed. Lamb used is of finest quality. It comprise of so many items in just one thali. Also they serve jalebi with it, which are super fresh. I loved the thali overall.
Grilled chicken tangdi- Chicken legs were well marinated but it didn't stand out for me. It lacked the flavour. Had way too much charred flavour at every bite, hence wasn't much enjoyable.
Solkadi- This was heavenly drink truly. One sip and it will make you crave more. A perfect drink to sip on while hogging on their thalis.
Kharwas- This milk pudding which is cooked using jaggery was highlight of the lunch. It will blow your mind away in one bite. It is that good. You definitely can't miss out on this.
Overall had really amazing time here hogging on their authentic thalis which were just perfect quality wise.
Great food and a perfect ambience. One of the best meals I've had recently. Virendra Captain was great with the recommendations and the mutton maharaja thali with the loin chops is a must.
If you are craving some lamb, this is the place to go. Ordered a Raan Mutton. It is a lamb leg perfectly cooked with regional spices and ghee in a charcoal roast oven. Served with rice and tambda rassa. It's just perfect. No.other words.
Tender and succulent lamb. Haven't had lamb as good anywhere. The price depends on the weight of the leg. This one thali is enough for 3 4 people. Also their bhakri is nice too.
The ambience is lively and pretty. Service is also explicit. So a perfect 5 on 5 for Food, Service and Ambience. Worth multiple visits.
It was beautiful-peaceful and relaxing. Staff was outstanding. The restaurant was exceptional along with the dishesh and servers. Nice collections of menu authentic maharashtrian food. Must try Raan and maharaja thali. Ambience was so attractive and full relaxing. This restaurant is for all age group because they have menu for children's also. One of the best.....
Had the most delicious mutton dishes here. Thank you so much to Virendra for providing excellent service to us.
The food was amazing and the ambience was great. We were served by the waiter shafakat ali and sajan who helped us order amazing food. Waiting to visit this place soon.
The Place is worth it's "PRICE " "TASTE " and "LOCATION " ...
Loved the place because of it's Location and the decor done but the Management.....
.
The place makes it unique because of the Cooking method, the Ancient method of cooking food on "CHULA"....
..
Tried the Lamb Maharaja Thali , Lamb Paya Soup , Chicken Tangdi and Kharvas ....
.
The Price is Worth the Taste ...
The Lamb was of good quality and specially the Meat was well cooked and was not chewy...
Tried Lamb Paya Soup for the first time and loved it....
.
Kharvas was tried many times before, but had the Special Kharvas from this place cooked with "GUD" ...
.
Star of the Menu was Kheema Laadu Kharvas and Solkadi.... 😋😋😋😋😋😋😋
We had a kitty party, n our friends had a very good time. Good food in a very good ambience. The staff is very friendly and courteous.
This is a place which you must have on your list when in pune. Maharashtrian food at its best. There's a lot of greenery around that makes it a pleasant looking spot. Food just makes the entire experience perfect.
Went on a weekend lunch here. Ordered the Maharaj Thali (Chicken). We were told that the Maharaj Thali can be eaten by one person and quite frankly, it can but you need to skip breakfast for that :P
Also, the Bhakri were large in size and apart from that everything was very manageable quantity wise. The taste was authentic, the accompaniments were brilliant and even the jalebi as dessert was very well made! There was nothing in my thali which we could criticize about and we finished off almost everything!
A perfect non veg thali place.Truly A must visit place for Mutton lovers. One of the finest lamp meat menus available in Pune. You must try once. Worth it
Ambiance: 9/10
Taste: 8/10
Value for money: 7/10
Good food. Enjoyed the ambiance. Must visit. Good place.
1. अहिल्यादेवी सिकंदरी रान
.
Sikandari Raan is a 12 hour preparation of succulent leg of lamb meat served with rice and grilled pineapple. The meat melted as soon as it went in the mouth.
.
Ahilyadevi's Thali is one of the best Maharashtrian restaurant in Pune.
.
I definitely recommend Ahilyadevisthalipune
.
2. Ahilyadevi's Thali @ahilyadevisthali are serving great Veg Thali which was absolute delight and delicious....
A traditional dine with amazing ambience with great service sums up to a fantastic experience at a very reasonable price and always a hangout place with family and friends. Its definately worth visiting more than once for sure.
Wonderful place ... authentic, delicious and the most succulent fold that I had especially the mutton is to die for!
A delightful and very well known place for lamb and chicken lovers. Ahilyadevi is situated in katraj a little far from the city in lone area but it's worth a try for all non-veg lovers. The place ambience is classy and calm with feeble instrumental hindi music. If you are looking for spicy Maharashtrian food, this is the place that you may love. The food is not as spicy as north Indian food but yeah apart from thali the standalone dishes do the work. The place is good to go with both family and friends. Service is good. It has the eating window of only few hours in the afternoon 12.30-5 and evening 7-11.The place is pocket friendly with good quality of food. The best thing, that i liked was an open kitchen. In thali you have an option of chapati and bhakhri, in sweets jalebi was okay'ish but the rice which they serve with thali are mouth watering.
We ordered
1) Lamb thali:- It was tasty with lamb balls filled with spices
2) Chicken mini:-There was a difference of only one sabzi in mini thali and chicken thali-i ordered dry chicken which was tasty
3) Chicken thali:- It had both dry and gravy chicken gravy one was average
4)Solkadhi:- A coconut drink mixed with Maharashtrian spices
5)Dhangri chicken- Was spicy and very tasty.
In all a good experience.
Stayed in Kondwa for almost 5+ years & never knew a restaurant as this existed.
I was looking for a local restaurant which served desi khana but it needs to be nonveg and after a lot of investigation, I was able to find the perfect spot.
The location where the restaurant is located is somewhat far and not easily identifiable but the restaurant is fit under a perfect mountain space hence the minute you enter the spot it just makes everything beautiful.
The ambience and decor of the restaurant are BEAUTIFUL and AWESOME and it gives you the natures feeling with a peaceful environment -- from waiting on the order to eating and the last is relaxing until you leave.
The service is extremely noticeable although it was a packed Sunday and it was crowded and there were few mistakes made but the staff made sure they apologized for the chaos and served us with respect.
This place is known for its lamb delicacies now coming to the main point FOOD and the Pricing.
The Pricing is a bit on the top but compared to the service and quality of food it fits in the right price level
We had 2 dishes 2 cold drinks and 1 sweet i.e Lamb Meat Thali, Lamb Dum Biryani, sol kadi, matha & Jalebi.
The Lamb in the Thali was perfectly cooked it had 8 dishes in it.
The Lamb meat biryani was made in clarified butter with the perfect dum through the basmati rice with an exploding aroma of flavours.
Ambience and decor 5 out of 5
Food 5 out of 5
Service 5 out of 5
Quality 5 out of 5
In general, everything is extremely good at this restaurant 5 out of 5.
It is a recommended Maharashtrian place for all lamb lovers.
The ambiance is beautiful 😍 and so is the food😋. The food is quite oily. All in all a good place to eat
Also they give an additional bowl for the unwanted part of the food (like bones, etc)
We visited this place over a weekend for a Good non-veg food and delicious cuisine. Place is very approachable towards old Katraj ghat.
I personally like the theme of this restaurant. Another good point that really impressed me was Transparent kitchen space.
Food quality and taste was good and fresh.

Very pleasant atmosphere, soft lights & soothing ambience...friendly & welcoming staff... we ordered both veg & nonveg thali...taste was good but not up to the paid price...overall good experience, recommended for one time experience...
I had the pleasure of dining at Ahilyadevi's Thali Restaurant in Katraj recently, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience! My friends and I tried their Chicken Thali and Lamb Mutton Thali, and we were blown away by the delicious flavors and generous portions.
The food at Ahilyadevi's Thali Restaurant is simply delectable. The Chicken Thali was perfectly cooked, tender, and bursting with rich flavors, while the Lamb Mutton Thali was equally impressive, with succulent pieces of mutton cooked to perfection. Each dish in the Thali was distinct and showcased the authentic taste of Indian cuisine.
The ambiance of the restaurant was delightful. The decor was tasteful and created a warm and inviting atmosphere. It was evident that a lot of thought had been put into creating a comfortable space for diners to enjoy their meals.
What really stood out for me was the quick and attentive service. The staff members were friendly, courteous, and always ready to assist. They ensured that our orders were promptly taken and served, making the dining experience even more enjoyable.
Moreover, the ample parking space available at the restaurant was a big plus. It made it convenient for us to park our vehicles without any hassle, allowing us to focus on savoring our meal without any worries.
All in all, Ahilyadevi's Thali Restaurant is a gem in Katraj. From the tasty food to the great ambiance and quick service, it's an excellent place to enjoy a scrumptious Indian meal with friends and family. I highly recommend visiting this restaurant and trying their delightful Thali options. You won't be disappointed!
We ordered Chicken mini thali which was enough for 1 pax. The taste was good and restaurant keepers were excellent while serving quick service and nice ambience.
If you love lamb meat, this is the place for you. We ordered lion chops, 1 chicken masala thali and 1 maharaja thali. In Maharaja thali, you have multiple options... You can choose starter, chicken/lamb dishes.
Taste was owsome. 🤤
Good place if you want to try mutton thali. They serve lamb mutton only. We had paya soup which is not much hot, mutton ran was good but it was also not much hot, so unable to finish by 4 of us.
Zelebi n khaskhas was good.
best thali in pune.. i tried 20+ thali restaurant in pune.. taste n quality n qty wise this is best thali restaurant. I tried Maharaja mutton thali sufficient for 2 person ( sharing is allowed for this thali) 950/- rs. n i love it. also try mutton biryani 💕

One of the delicious healthy food and beautiful ambience. I would highly recommend you all to try to visit here and try out their Lamb Biryani. Once your food will finish, they will serve you with sweets like jalebi as complimentary. And most of the important thing, the restaurant was clean to the core. Also, their staff were humble and rates out there were pocket friendly.
This place definitely have a very retro-urban cafe vibe, beautifully planned out dinning area, ample natural light and top-notch asthetics.
Every staff we met holds a very pleasing personality, have great communication skills.
Coming to the food, we went for a Dhangari Kebab(as starters) & Sikandari Raan, topping 3-chapatis & 1-Bhakri(as main course). The raan came with a bowl of biriyani rice and rassa. 3 of us couldn't finish the whole thing and had to pack half of the rice and some good chunk of raan meat.
Dhangari kebabs were soft, succulent and well cooked. We went for a medium spicy palette. The chutney served with it deserves a special mention.
The showstopper of the afternoon was the `Sikandari Raan'. It costs 1500/kg and the minimum weighing one they had the time we went is of 1.5kg. Well cooked, soft mutton raan with mild spices felt heavenly and light to the tummy.
Definitely going to try their thalis next time, soon.
Amaazing food! The whole experience from start to finish was great. The food can’t get better and the prices are fair for the portion. Always a great spot to get great food.
During our second visit, we went for the Chicken Thali with the sharing option. The two chicken varieties, one in red masala curry and the other in black masala dry form, were both delicious. Alongside bhakari, salad, and indrayani rice, the meal was truly delightful. The thecha had quite the kick, and the chicken soup was cooked to perfection, bursting with flavors. The ambiance, adorned with plants, creates a wonderful atmosphere that adds to the experience. A definite recommendation for a friendly and enjoyable family dinner!
Nice place to dine authentic taste.
Both veg and non veg are good.
Great ambiance and good service.
Food quality is very good
Good place if you like mutton specially. Try the raan but ensure you are not dining alone, needs 4 people to chow down. Imp point - it gets super crowded (visited on weekend). Service is a bit chaotic. Have some patience and hogg in.
Visited this place with my family for lunch. Ordered veg thali and Sikandari Mutton Raan. Veg thali was impressive, as they served it on a large dish.
Sikandari Raan was perfectly cooked and the taste was incredible. They are serving rice and gravy with Raan so it is perfect for 4 people.
Had the Maharaja Mutton Thali, nice flavours and good qulaity mutton. The quantity of this thali is bit more for one person, but it offers chance to taste different varieties offered here
I visited this place for lunch and it is located near old Katraj ghat.

This place is well known for it's non-veg thalis. It is on the right side of old Pune-Satara road at the end of Katraj.
The food is really great as per the hype. We tried Lamb Thali and Chicken Mini Thali and both were great with variety of items. Solkadhi here is one of the best I've ever had. Paya soup was also great to kick-start the food journey.
The ambience is good here and even better at night. Service is also good
Price per person - Rs.500+.
You can try the combination of Regular Thali + Mini Thali if you're with family.
Absolutely recommended
Non-veg food is quite tasty. Thecha and Alni is a good addon. Was quite busy on Sunday evening. Suggest to go early if planning to dine on weekends. The ambience is amazing.
