Wanted to visit this place for sometime now but somehow it never seemed to work out due to work and other unforseen reasons.
Today being a Monday and work scene sorted decided to get it off my bucket list. Bengali cuisine happens to be one of my favorites and having eaten at their outlet many years back at University Road was looking forward to this meal.
Tried laccha paratha and mutton chap and also a small portion of aloo poshto. Beautifully done chap with boneless mutton and the one of a kind laccha paratha (fluffy, crispy) I am having trouble putting it in words it was that good. I bet anyone else in Pune serves such laccha parathas. Went very well with the rich mutton chap. The aloo poshto also was very well done (subtle and delicate).
Now for the show stealer dessert Chena Payeesh. OMG I have fallen in love with this and I am going to go again tomorrow itself for one more round of this. Brilliant stuff.
They have completely revamped the place and have a all new menu. I am happy that there one place serving one of my favorite cuisines so close to my office.

One of the good food places in Viman Nagar ... Bngali cuisine at its best ... Mutton and Chicken Kosha are a must try here ... and yes Chicken chop how can I forget it ... nice ambience and a great host ..

First time experienced Kolkata style biriyani in Pune. Ordered 2 half plate Chicken Biriyani and 2 malai chom chom. 1 large piece chicken was there in each plate and bit fried with egg and potato. Both Biriyani and Malai chom chom were delicious. My only suggestion would be to add less oil in the biriyani.
Tried only bengali desserts because we ordered after lunch. Tried jaggery rasgulla for the first time. It was good but can't beat the white ones. Malai chom chom and sandesh were good too. Malai chom chom hands down is a must try.
The food here brings the real indian taste. The place is amazing for all foodies out there and I would honestly suggest to try this place out.
What a resturant , delicious food, chikhen crry was awesome, the lachha pratha is of good size , prime location ,still price is decent , must visit place

Many people written lot of words about this place. Hygiene, toilet, owner wants cash, nagging, etc. After reading all this me with my wife went to this place with loads of cash, no toilet requirement, keeping in mind
hygiene issues. Let me tell all I went to have food, yes, only Bengali food. And the owner Mr. Mondal passed with distinction. He speaks much but we were equally so no problem. Hence we are so so happy with his welcome and straight forwardness. No hanky panky no bluffs.
Now food:
Chicken Biriyani: We ordered one plate for me and half plate for my wife (obviously she eats less than me). Chicken 2 pcs one leg and one breast in full plate and one leg in half plate. One egg and half piece potato in both. All are very well cooked. Superbly blended with Biriyani rice (khuska). Little bit more ittar smell would have made it more aromatic. Overall it was awesome. First time in Pune I had full plate of Biriyani without any stomach ache and mouth burning. Eating something away from home 2000 kms away and in similar taste. We loved it. 5 out of 5.
Mutton kasha: Didnt like it. It wasn't good. It was more of big cut onions. Not well blended. Though mutton was well cooked I doubt its actually lamb. Preferably no for next time. 1 out of 5.
Gurer Rosogolla: Excellent. Very fresh and smells and tastes good quality milk and jaggery. 5 out of 5.
Chanar Jilepi: Good but may be rawa blended with chana. Hence little downsided. Sugar syrup in it was on the sour side. Overall 3 out of 5.
Price: Absolutely reasonable. No doubt on that. Rs. 160 for full Biriyani. Rs.14 for rosogolla. Rs. 160 for mutton kosha ( 3 piece).
Value added: Pujabarshiki boi. Special Bengali magazines Durga puja edition. We bought all each one them.
So overall rating is 4 out of five. Repeat visit must.
If you love Bengali food and you are staying at viman nagar then this place might be heaven for you. I have ordered Mutton Kosha and chamcham, sandesh from here and it was awesome.
Sorry don't hv pics for this one, cos I mostly order this in. It's like my favourite place to hv Bong food. Takes you home right, authentically Bengali food, if u have it once for sure u gonna have it again

Excellent Authentic Bengali food , Bengali sweet also nice , Rosogolla , Chomchom, Golab jaam. Bengali Biryani was Awesome 😘.
I have been here for takeaways often since I don't like the ambiance at all. It is just near Ganpati Chowk in Vimannagar. I can vouch for the sweets that taste good away from Kolkata - specially nalen gurer rosogolla. As for daily regular meals, I did find most of the dishes blunt, not at all the real jig up, I would look for in Bengali cuisines. Snacks like Moghlai, Fries and Egg roll are so-so. Doth I agree that in Pune might not be the place to look for something authentic.
Perfect bengali food you can ask for, I ordered biryani and malai chum chum, biryani was cooked to perfection with good cooked chicken pieces and sweets were exceptionally good, can't forget the taste, highly recommended 😋😋
Sometimes when I miss home made food, I order from this place. The crispy aloo bhaji is exactly how mom used to make it. Although the chicken preparations aren’t the best, the aloo fry is what keeps me coming back.
If you're looking for authentic bengali sweets, this is the place to go.
Though the number of sweet items offered are not much, quality takes precedence over quantity here.
Amongst sweets, Jaggery Rasgulla, Malai chamcham and Sandesh are items to definitely try.
Their chicken roll is also worth a try.
The seating is pretty limited though.
If you're someone who loves aloo in your biryani, make sure you pay a visit. Loved their biryani and their maach bhaja, their rosogallas are sure to remind you of Kolkata too!
I ordered a chicken Biryani and chomchom, the Biryani was very well cooked with dum aloo and boiled egg, pure authentic Bengali taste, and chomchom was delicious (very sweet though). You guys reminded me of Kolkata.
The food was excellent. Just like home food.

Food is grt...prices very reasonable. But plz nxt tym do pack d biryani properly with tapes. Food was spilling out of d box. Also just 1 piece in mutton kosha?!🤔
The food was good but they didn't send cutlery. I had to ask one from the hotel authority. Please send cutlery next time. The delivery boy was very polite. Sorry I couldn't add a tip because I don't have luxury to order from online right now.

It’s a very nice place . It’s as authentic as it can get in Pune. Not sure about the ambience .. I just ordered food on a raining monsoon night. The packing was a mess but the food makes you over look all that. The packing wasn’t clean so I can’t comment on the cleanliness. So I’d rate it 4 only for the taste . I had the mutton kosho thali and the jaggery rasagoula.
Tried their Pomfret fry, which was good in taste but not excellent .Veg thali was okay but rotis was not at all fine. Jaggery rasgulla was not upto the mark as it was somewhat rubbery else chom chom was good !!! Overall okay experience.
The food is very homely and satisfying. Their samosas, gud rosogulla and chicken roll are amazing. The service depends , on some days it's very fast, on some it's pretty slow.
This place is a Relief for bongs.. specially for Kolkata biriyani lovers.. The biriyani tastes almost like the ones from Kolkata. Plus the mutton kosha is love... Really loved the food there . Home delivery or self pickup is better i guess.
Just too awesome for the chicken biryani is an understatement. #itsinsane. Most authentic bengali chicken biryani ever out of West Bengal. The sweets are really good and ohh god how can i forget the rolls! #supertasty

Best Kolkata style biryani in Pune. Period.
The chicken kosha was very authentic as well and extremely tasty and satisfying. But a little less in quantity.
The sweets were not as good but still better than other Bengali places around here.
Not sure about eating out but definitely a fantastic place to order from. Cheers!
First of all this shop is known as 'Mondol da'r dokan' in bongs around Pune. Not a new shop. Enough famous for bong food.
Starting from veg thali to gurer rosogolla everything is good.
Started with biryani, not bad for a bong's taste buds.(not claiming as 'wow' though)
Chicken Moghlai, chicken roll, egg roll are lip smacking!
Best rosogolla maker in Pune(specially gurer roaogolla).
Reasonable! Tasty!

My favourite go to place when I m craving for bong food.... Mondol da keeps it simple and quiet. No frills attached. Good old simple bong food and smiling happy lads as waiters will give you a very true kolkata kinda feeling. The veg thalis and the mutton biriyani is my favourite there. Simple dal rice alu Bhaja one mixed veggie or alu posto or alu gobi . Try their yummy rolls samosa and veg chop too. Their sweets are a must... Especially the malai chomchom and the Rosogulla. Very mundane set up but how does it matter when the food is finger licking. Am a regular there.... Try this one n you will keep coming back.
They bring the taste of bengal in Pune .Good quality food in affordable price. Recommendable for Bengali food lover . But please try to improve the taste of ilish.
Awesome authentic bengali cuisine. The Biriyani is typical taste of Kolkata. And portion is also very good. Definitely recommended for all food lovers.
Being a bong by heart, essentially it is very important for me to satisfy my tastebuds through Bengali food. Off late there has been quite a few places who serves good bengali food and bengali biryani however, my today’s choice became class apart.
I didnt bring the lunchbox today, so opened up zomato and search for some chinese combo suddenly I saw this place, without wasting much time I placed order for a full chicken biryani which cost me 141 rupees only after applying a discount code.
Delivery was on time, and then I opened the cover of the pack to get lost in the aroma..Mahnn, u gotta try this if u are a bengali and miss kolkata. This place definitely going to be in your “Repeat Again” order list.

One of the best places to visit or order for home delivery for Bengali cuisine food. This place has authentic basic Bengali dishes like aloo posto, bengali sabji, or fish and chicken items. Really delicious at very reasonable prices. One can order for party or single day dining.Special word for the Bengali sweet items under desert section. Aboslutely amazing quality to taste.
Doesn’t matter you are Bengali or not. You’ll be able to enjoy Bengali home food taste outside Calcutta. But cannot compare recipe of maa, no where near 😊. But yeah for the sake of happy stomach and good health , It’s recommended. And in case you you’re visiting the shop you have to carry cash in this digital era
True that this place serves not just food, but emotions. I started frequenting this place back in 2016 when I used to stay in Viman Nagar. It was around that time when I planted the seed in uncle's head to venture into biryani. And then much later, I got the current biryani chef in touch with the owner. So, it feels good when you appreciate this dish (Thanks Swarnali Banerjee , S.k Jakir and Rajeet Sengupta ).
