Best place to eat home like food. Everthing is cooked per demand. Hot and fresh. I have been eating for 1.5 years here, obviously offline. But its reasonable price for good everyday food.

Food is for Taste, do try Daal baati, Masala bhindi, dal khichadi, pulav, paratha almost everything is good here.
If you want to feed your tummy too much food with desi tadka at cheap price,then This is perfect place for it.
Even though it's famous for their daal baati,I preferred to order their punjabi thali as I was too much hungry.
For just 100 rs,You will get too much quantity to eat with good quality.
Aloo palak sabji,Mutter Paneer sabji,4 fulka,jeera rice,papad,curd,daal tadka.All for just 100 rs.
Don't go for ambience.

This is a no frills place which serves up some really tasty and simple food at very affordable rates. I went there after seeing it's good ratings on Google maps. I liked butter dal chana Masala and aloo palak all made dhabastyle.....Will be trying it's famous daal bati the next time.....it has no ambience so not recommended for family...most suitable for friends or solo bachelors. A one time hearty meal will cost around rs 150 max as in 2018

This is a pocket friendly place.
I have tried veg thali i.e mini thali. Which contaije 2 vegetables 3 chapatis rice and dal, a bowl of curd. The taste is good compare to price.
Have tried couple of paneer dishes ex.shahi paneer , butter paneer but the taste was not upto the mark for any paneer dish, will suggest to avoid oaneer dishes.
If you want to taste a veg dish do try veg maratha here. The taste of the dish of really good would like to give 3.5/5 for this dish.
If you ant to eat something light give a try to dal khichadi with ghee, this is another dish would recommend to try.
Now the last but not the least, the speciality of the place dal batti with pure desi ghee. The taste of the dal batti is really nice.
They also have realy nice butter milk.
This place is like little canteen , do not expect ambience and very good cleaning and hygiene here.
But still overall a good place to give a try for quick lunch/dinner.

When it's Sai mess... Dal baathi is something you just can't afford to miss... Simply Delicious and budget friendly.. For guys/girls who have their food out daily, this is definitely the place to be... Their food is homely and the place is situated at a prime location near the shastri nagar square. There is nothing to look for ambience there as it is a budget cafe and not much to look at. I would suggest dal kichidi, dal batthi and sev ki sabzi for you guys coz I find them mind blowingly delicious :) they have super fast takeouts... So I suggest parcel it and enjoy the food at home..Do try it.
I have a rich experience of Marwari cuisines and undoubtedly Dal Bati is one of them. I have tried it in many places including Ramdev Dhaba, Nigdi. The best thing about Sai Cafe is there is no waiting time plus the taste is awesome. Plus point - COST EFFICIENT. They serve you very politely and also insist in having more and more, which is quite good. I vouch for this place and want every Dal Bati lover to go here atleast once. Though the ambience is not up to the mark but the taste is so good that it covers all the flaws. Must visit.

This humble looking restaurant is placed right in front of the Shastri Nagar Chowk. I happened to be here for lunch on a Sunday afternoon courtesy an ex-TCS employee who wouldn't shut up about the Dal Bhati Churma that they made here while he was working at an office nearby. Finally we decided to visit this place and have the Dal Bhaati Churma (DBC) and now I finally know what the fuss is all about! Don't be decieved by the looks of the restaurant, they make a mean DBC. The churma comes with a generous spread of dal and pure ghee and is accompanied with a green chutney. Order a bowl of curd as it goes nicely with it. First timers, don't try anything on the menu until you have given DBC a try. The rest of the stuff is just like what you will find at a good roadside eatery. Their prices are college canteen like but that is where the similarities to college canteen end. Food here is top-notch and do visit this place especially of your wallet is running low after shopping in nearby malls.
I would definitely recommend this place to everyone.

How could people don,t know about this place? This is one of the highly underrated places in Pune. Maybe because of its ultra humble ambiance. I dont care for the ambiance as long as the food is worth it. The Daal Bati here is easily one of the best I have ever eaten! The daal is simple yet fingerlicking delicious. I insist you to eat the daal bati their way! I mean do the Churma! The restaurant does not have a single other thing that I can boast of! But I cant really rate food based upon some predecided attributes! I like this pace for just this thali nothing else. Its soul food real food. ATTENTION: Rs 200/- multiplex popcorn crunching idiots stay away!
Daal Bati is the speciality of Cafe Sai. I had been there 5-6 times and have tasted many dishes along with Daal Bati. This Daal Bati dish is served with lot of 'Ghee' on the top along with extra Daal, roasted Papad and green chatni. You can ask for more Daal (unlimited) and extra Baati (charged). I could have given 4 stars but I did not like other dishes. Most of those have similar taste. But I found their Rice Plate quite well. For Daal Bati, I'll definitely suggest Cafe Sai to foodies.
I heard about this place from many of my friends and finally decied to be there today... I decided to start with Daal bati (There special dish) and then switch on to other dishes but believe me daal bati was so awesome that we ate that only... it is very reasonable (80/- thali with unlimited daal) and super value for money.. Owner of the place was very soft spoken and asked for suggestions as well..

Went for daal baati and got it, they will crush three baati in a plate ( hindi: baati choor ke daal ke saath) along with daal n Desi ghee. Very good in taste and damn cheap. Since it's a very small service was prompt n super quick.

Must haves are daal baati, veg bhuna. Even panir dishes are decent enough, they are slightly on the spicy side.
Phulkas are the ones that steal the show and go perfectly with the above curries.
If you love daal-baati.. This is the place for you. Quite cheap with a good quality food. The only problem we face is there's no place for parking near the restaurant.

I had dinner once again. Dal fry was very good. Homely, tasty, very good in quantity and so pocket friendly. Panner bhurjee was sumptuous. They certainly don't offer best ambiance but they do offer one of the best veg food with so good homely taste.
If ambiance is your primary concern, start searching for another outlet right away. Situated at a corner of the road, one should definitely visit Cafe Sai for its Dal Baati. They do not serve Gatte ke sabji or Churma with it which I feel should be introduced, but anyway, the Dal Baati is completely worth having.
Though it's a small place..... it has its own uniqueness....quality of food is good,and value for money is good.

This place even though small and cramped has got its own charisma to it. IF AMBIENCE IS AN ESSENTIAL PART OF YOUR EXPERIENCE DON'T EVEN READ FUTHER (The upper case is on purpose). I have been consistently trying Daal baati at this place and it has never failed me. I have so far not tried any other dishes since the hang of daal baati is still not over with me. The service is faster and the person rarely gives choclates in change to me so far I am happy with this guy.
A small place at the corner of the road. Lovely food, complete value for money. The food quality is great and yo can find lot of corporate guys coming for lunch and dinner. My favourite is shev bhaji and dal baati.

The food here is of good quality and it's affordable too. Especially one can try the Thali (Rice plate/Punjabi thali). Both are good options and quite affordable. Foreg this plate of Punjabi thank costed me only 100 bucks and the quality is awesome. The food is served hot and is prepared fresh right in front of us. One can come here definitely to have roti sabji dal chaval, Punjabi sabjis and also dal baati churma. It is one of the famous dishes here.
