Misal pav is amongst the very well known and popular dishes in Maharashtra.
Misal is a spicy curry made with moth beans & boiled potatoes which is mixed together and topped with Farsan, Sev, Chopped Onion, Lemon Juice & Coriander. This misal is served with Pao (bread).
Katakirr serves kolapuri style misal pao which in itself is very spicy but you can choose from very spicy, medium spicy or not spicy at all. If you love spicy food you must try the very spicy one as you are going to love it.
This was the first time I had tried misal Pao and it was one of best spicy dishes I had even had.

Misal is staple food in Maharashtra. Once can find it roadside and also in a 5 star hotel. Yet in such a competitive scenario, Katakirr has a unique concept of just selling misal pav (curd and butter milk in addition). Quite a bold move... But looks to be successful
They have combined traditional food with today's digital world. One has to take a coupon (digital), ordering is on tab and for payment of bill, just tell the coupon number.
Place is clean with nicely dobe interiors. Only negtive is that they have benches and no chairs. So, backrest is missing
Well, I didn't like misal at all before going to this place. I took the spicy one and each bute was so so yumm, prompt service and best on pocket. On some local suggestions we visited this outlet, I was really happy to come here so tasty we had the medium spicy which was spicy as well. So nicely made with spices total value for money, we also tried there masala tak which was decent as well
Misal was too spicy but taste was authentic and good. I ordered one buttermilk with it. Approximately costs around 100 rs per person.
The only spot to have awesome MISAL.Super tasty misal, you just won't stop eating once you start , try the "spicy" misal at your own risk, but medium misal is the best

For starters, just like most of us, I LOVE misal pav.
I have tried our a bunch of places, but come back to ordering from Katakirr Misal because of their amazing and near to perfect taste.
However, the last two times have been near disappointing.
The food was more or less cold and the Misal gravy was not as tasty. One also gets 1 Jodi pav per plate, which is okay, but as shared in the picture below, I received rather shriveled pavs and one of them in the Jodi was broken into half ☹️😔
I think it maybe due to staff neglect because Katakirr has great taste!
However I chose to share this today after a second sub standard experience.
Looking forward to ordering a better version on the same again!!

Misal pav is one of my favourite dishes so I try any place recommended by my friends. This one too was highly appraised by a friend of mine so we friends decided to give it a try.
It's a small place that serves variants of misal pav depending upon one's capacity of bearing the heat (chilli/teekha)
We had Medium spicy misal pav with buttermilk and it was so yum that my mouth is watering even while m writing this review 😄

few days back me and my friend are visited in dole patil katakirr out let it was very good experience but one thing as a point of me they are not allowed to share the one misal in two people,apart from this every thing was great.
Days back we visited Katakirr as we heard a lot about their misal. And indeed it was worth visiting. The place overall is average, and they need to maintain it properly. Hygiene should be looked after. The staff is not skilled and many a times they neglect things like when asked to clean the table twice he totally ignored it both the times. But talking about their misal it's worth giving a try. They serve normal and spicy tarri. And matki also includes of potato along with farsan. And overall it's a delightful treat to our tastebuds.
Must go to place if you want to have proper Misal Pav.
They can make it spicy according to your requirement and also give you tari(local spicy water) for DIY taste.
A little pricey compared to other misal pav vendors around but it's a must try if you haven't tried their brand.

This is second in a month that I visited this outlet, that is just because the cravings for this misal!!! I had tasted misal at many places but this is one of those special authentic misal who will never let you down in taste. One can select the level of spices based on their taste buds. It was looking like a layered misal with potato, then farsan, then misal and onion on top.the additional misal gravy which is also termed as kaat was served separately. The taste of misal along with buttermilk was just perfect combination.
The staff was quite polite and ready to serve you immediately.

Awesome missal... The gravy was not just spicy but flavorful.. the farsaan had few pieces of boiled potatoes which was adding to the taste.. but other places I get sprouts with farsaan, which I didn't get here...

Also I am big misal pav lover & I tried several other misal pav joints before this & finally I tried misal pav here.
Here they serve misal pav only, but they have options for spicyness of misal like more spicy, medium spicy & less spicy. So you have to select the option as per your comfort of spiceness.

In Pune, in every corner, every street , you will get to eat Misal Pav. BUT not everyone make it so tasty and great like KATAKIRR does..We visited KATAKIRR @ DP Road , and yes as I said, they really does make the best Misal in town.

They offer two different variations of Misal, Normal and Jain Misal. Both in three levels of spicy-ness. You should try Medium one.
You can also have Buttermilk a.k.a Chaas/Taak along with Misal.
Service is great, you will get everything within seconds, so you won't have to wait much longer.
AMBIENCE:
Ambience is good, they have two floors, so seating arrangement is sufficient.
No AC in here, but I don't feel the need for it.

Excellent. They have four varieties of misal as of 2023 - light, medium, spicy, and only matki. There are also options for Jain and Cheese Misal.
The light, medium, and spicy are the levels of spiciness. Light is good for people who cannot handle spiciness at all. Medium is moderately spicy but the spicy version is a challenge in itself that few can complete.
Your misal will be adorned with farsan beforehand but you can always ask for more which is chargeable.
Mattha is a form of buttermilk or chhas for those who would want to balance the spiciness.

There are parking spaces in the building that are chargeable. Otherwise, you can take a risk to park on the road.

Many misal spots tried out, out of which this looks quite organized. They have sorted out the menu with light, medium and very spicy ones. We can order a dry misal also which isn't available in other places. The farsan is fresh and along with farsan they drop a piece or two smashed aloo too. The butter milk didn't taste at all good and was too light. We complained about it but the owner was fine like everyone is having it.

They have introduced Jain Misal - no Onion , Garlic and potato less mix served with lesser spicy rassa ( curry)
The misal are split in 3 types a Light Misal , a Medium Misal and a Tikhat misal. Based on the spicy nature of the content the Tikhat is spiciest they offer.
You have have Mattha - buttermilk here and the Tikhat Misal is a must have with a strong disclaimer that it can be really really hot.
The ambience is for a fast food shop and there are 2 areas to sit both will be almost full at morning and evening hours and weekends you need to make sure you are there early

If you have tried the katakirr misal before then there's nothing new here in terms of the food being served. I like the katakirr misal in general.
The location of this outlet is great. It is close to the Ruby hospital. The space is somewhat compact and you might have to wait for the table.
The owner and the staff are good and approachable. They have a washbasin outside. I am not sure if there is a washroom or not.
They can add a few more ceiling fans or hanging fans at the ground floor sitting area.
