I am from kolhapur so fully aware of authentic taste of Kolhapuri Mutton and chicken. Even this place is named Kolhapuri the taste is authentic
Food is over spicy, hotel looks famous since its near midc and workers nearby like spicy food.

I love the taste of veg food here though the restaurant is manily for non vegan eaters.

I love the veg rice plate, veg biryani they serve.

Mostly I ordered from swiggy they provided good maharashtrian food with filling quality.

I'm a huge fan of restaurant's ' solkadhi.

Chapati, sabji, daal, rice and kadhi... everything is so perfect in taste...medium spiced.

If u love good food...this is the place....ambience isn't that good so pls keep in mind n dnt expect much... Just go for food... Its amazing they have 2 specialities combined... Kokan n kolhapuri...surmai thali n jumbo chicken which comes with biryani was great.... Surmai was awesome... Fresh n very nicely cooked... I asked them where did they get this nice fish but he dint answered.. Shayad competitor laga mai 😁... Sol kadi was must try... M Definitely going again 👍

Before reading this review read the hotel name twice. IT’S KOLHAPURI. So obviously food is SPICY but, if someone like me who eat pickle daily says it’s Spicy just imagine about yourself. Overall Chicken Combo is worth it price, just check the pic. Surmi thali is complete no no in terms of value. Food is amazing in taste and hotel is mostly crowded and their parking too. Must try if you in Pune. Keep some sweet handy and enjoy 👌🏻😉😁

Gem of a place. One of the top chicken thali places in PCMC.

Don't go by the name, as there is very little kokani about this place. Except for pomfret, surmai & kolambi there is no seafood on the menu. But every thing else on the menu is absolutely spot on.

Tried the Chicken fry combo thali, Surmai fry & chicken masala. Fry combo thali offers pandhra & lal rassa, sukka, biryani (instead of normal rice), solkadi & chapati. Food tastes great. Spiciness is perfectly balanced. Quantity is sufficient. The chapati & chicken sukka are two of the best items on the thali. Solkadi is a must try too.

The Surmai fry didn't live upto the expectations & it is best to avoid seafood/seafood thali here. Chicken masala too was good but slightly spicy.

Ambience is simple. Tables are big but the place is crammed. A separate only family section is available.
Overall ambience is decent.

Service is quick & staff is attentive.

It's a small place & gets filled up quickly. Hence waiting can be long, especially on weekends or public holidays. Advisable to reach early.

Overall a great place. Thoroughly impressed with the food. Highly recommended.

Special chicken thali ❤️. This is the best place I have ever visited. We get proper desi chicken here. It is served with bhakri tambda rassa, pandra rassa, and solkadi. The one who likes desi chicken than this is the place for you guys. I will definitely recommend this place to all 😃

We visited this restaurant last week . I wanted to eat chicken which can give us homely taste and affordable too. This restaurant is too crowded so sometimes we need to wait here.This place doesn't have great ambiance but they serve amazing food
We ordered following menu
Solkadhi : 20/-
Chicken combo thali : 250/-
Prawns fry :200/-
Solkadhi was fresh and little spicy. Then we ordered chicken combo which contains chicken masala , anda masala , chapati / bhakari , chicken biryani , solkadhi , tambada rassa and pandhara rassa . This thali is package deal . We get so many things in 250/-.The taste of every dish in thali was good.
Then we order prawns fry. The prawns was crispy from outside and luscious prawns inside. Prawns were not fresh. It could have taste better if it was fresh.

Total bill was 546/-. Food was good and service is good too so overall experience of this restaurant was good. Do visit this place and it won't disappoint you.

Some places don't need classy ambiance or marketing or any fancy stuff to get their word out in the world. The food is enough to make them popular, this is the case for Hotel kokan kolhapuri . Suggested by my dear friend and mentor in food world Pankajkarad It was a wonderful experience at kokan kolhapuri which made our dinner great. The place is cozy but offers one of the best thalis in Pune at a reasonable price.

The place is comparatively small as it's old restaurant satisfying customers since long time. I was surprised by the service and the taste of food as it came in no time and still it was fresh and hot.

I've tried Solkadhi, Chicken fry combo thali, and prawns masala.Thali was superb it comes with chicken fry, tambda pandhra rassa and egg curry with dum biryani rice and choice of bread. It costs only 250 bucks and satisfaction guaranteed. Tambda pandhra rassa was superb I loved it. The chicken fry was right on point, meat was tender and the masala of fry was flavourful. The egg curry doesn't appeal to my taste buds as the chicken fry overshadowed it. The biryani was good and it was perfectly cooked. Overall the thali was a winner for me.

Solkadhi was a really a soul winner kadhi for me. I always try solkadhi if I visit any thali place because it has become a mandatory thing for me. The hint of spice which I always find in solkadhi was there and it really satisfied my soul. Highly recommended.

Whereas the prawns didn't match my expectations. Prawns weren't fresh as I was expecting. The coating was extra hard which I found bit odd and it didn't go well with soft prawns. I found the coating overpowering everything and I didn't taste prawns at all.

Overall it was a wonderful experience. I loved dining here as it made me happy. I traveled approx 25 kms to try this and it didn't disappoint me. Except for prawns, everything else was superb. I'll definitely come here again to try their mutton as it's super reasonable and the food is really good.

Visited this place for dinner last week. its very small and compact place. much like a khanawal or mess. so don't expect star ambience. we tried their chicken thali and masala papad. and I loved the food. 5 stars for food. pandhara rassa was too good. tambada rassa was also very tasty but it was very oily too. service can be improved. will visit again. if you like maharashtrian spicy chicken with tasty pandhara/tambada rassa, do give it a try. cheers.

खात्रीशीर चांगलं जेवण कुठे मिळेल असं विचारायला पंकज कराडना फोन केला आणि त्यांनी हॉटेल कोकण कोल्हापूरी, थरमॅक्स चौक सुचवले । लगेच गाडीने ठिकाणी पोचलो । एकुलते एक रिकामे टेबल पकडून मी स्पेशल कॉम्बो चिकन थाळी मागवली । बिर्याणी संपल्याने कॉम्बो थाळी नाही, चिकन थाळी चालेल का असं नीट सांगितलं गेलं । मी होकारार्थी मान डोलावली ।

हॉटेल छोटेखानी दुमजली आहे । मी तळमजल्यावरच बसलेलो । मोजकीच सुटसुटीत टेबल असा कारभार । मालकांनी स्वतः येऊन चपाती की भाकरी विचारलं । दहाच मिनिटं लागली थाळी यायला । थाळी बघूनच पोट भरलं । मित्रानेच काढले म्हणून हे फोटो देऊ शकतोय ।

पांढरा रस्सा छान दाट होता । फोटोत दिसतोय तसा नाममात्र तवंग होता । आणि तो ही नारळाच्या दुधामुळेच आला असं वाटतं । अगदी फक्कड लागला चवीला । तसाच प्रकार तांबडा रश्यामध्ये । उगाच मणभर तिखट आणि वाटीभर तेल नाही । इतर वेळी हॉटेलमालकांना नम्रपणे सांगावंसं वाटतं की अरे बाबा मी जेवायला आलोय रे इथे, मिरची-तेल माझ्याघरी आहेच की !

चिकन पुरेसं आणि चांगलं शिजवलेलं होतं । मजा आली खायला । रस्सा, चिकन गरम नसेल तर ते गॅस गेलेल्या कॉल्डड्रिंक सारखं वाटतं मला ।

अंडाकरी पण छान । पण चिकन अन रस्सा ह्यापुढे हरली बिचारी ।

चपाती/पोळीच्या म्हणून टीचभर फुलके आणि उगाच रंगरंगोटी केलेला भात बघून माझी जेवायची इच्छाच संपते । नशिबाने इथं तस झालं नाही । इथे थाळीत तीन चपात्या मिळतात । एकाच वेळी अशा चपात्या आणून ठेवल्या पाहिजेत । नाहीतर एक-एक असे कोणी द्यायला लागले की उगाच मी लाभार्थी वाटायला लागतं । मी दोन मधेच गार झालो ।

सर्वात शेवटी सोलकढी : अप्रतिम ! अशी मस्त जिरेपूड घातलेली ठसकेबाज सोलकढी मिळायला नशीब पाहिजे । ह्याची रेसिपी अगदी आदर्श आहे असं वाटलं । माझ्यासमोरच फ्रिजमध्ये आगळ ठेवलेले कॅन दिसत होते ।

खऱ्या अर्थाने कोकण आणि कोल्हापुरी नाव सार्थ केलेलं मी हे पहिलंच हॉटेल बघतोय । नाहीतर सगळेच लिहितात म्हणून हॉटेलच्या नावात लिहितात असा प्रकार नाही ।

घरगुती चवीचं आणि उत्तम सर्व्हिस असलेलं अजून एक हॉटेल मिळाले ।

बाकी :

चिकन थाळी : २०० रुपये.

पत्ता : रेनॉ शोरूमच्या बाजूला, थरमॅक्स चौक, चिंचवड ।

जाताजाता : हॉटेलच्या नावात असलं तरी हायवेलगतचं प्रत्येक हॉटेल "ढाबा" नसतं आणि विनाकारण तेल-तिखट ओतलं म्हणून जेवण "कोल्हापुरी" नसतं ।

Foodies - if you are looking for true tambda and pandhra rassa Type of chicken , fish, mutton thali's, then this place is the one for you

Unlimited tambda and pandhra rassa with any thali is very delicious.

Space is little bit squeezy Type , ambience is not the one should see for.

Chicken and rice quantity in a thali is less in a thali , but overall taste overshadows the other factors .

Cost of Fish thali is little bit costly i thought of.

So for rassa Type lovers - this Resto you can try out

Been there thrice to eat the Kolhapuri mutton thali. Try it you wont be disappointed, surely it will exceed your expectations. Pandhra rassa is class, even better than what they serve at some well known places in Kolhapur. Rated 0.5 less because of its thambda rassa(red curry), It seems they serve the fish curry in all the thalis.
Its the food you should look forward to not the size of the place. Its congested but its clean, for me that’s what matters.
Like I said its totally worth it.

We visited this place on weekdays. This is located near Bird valley park. You will have to find parking on service road. This place is small but you have options to seat at ground or on 1st floor. We chose the ground floor as we were hungry and couldn't wait for waiter to go down always for fetching pandhara rassa 😋. We ordered chicken special Thali. You get full plate thali with option of having 3 Chapati or 2 bhakari. You get 1 egg with curry.,chicken fry, solkadhi, rice. Taste was very good. Chicken pandhara rassa was good. But the thali is Little over priced. So rating it as 4. Hope this review reach the owner and they reduce the thali price.

Kolhapur style homecooked type nice non vegetarian food If you find the owner of the place eating same food sitting next to you , you can be rest assured about quality and taste and this place is one of those . I have been dining here since long and the place is consistent about taste and quality . Different chicken , mutton , fish , egg thalis as well as a la carte portions . Veg options available . Biryanis are also ok here. Food is always served piping hot . Bhakhris are good , tambda - pandhra rassa are not overly spicy/hot and tasteful. Portion sizes are decent . Cleanliness is good and service is satisfactory .

I had ordered biryani for about 20 people. Got to know them from some relatives. Wasnt sure as the order was for office team. But it was worth risking. I had ordered late night but they still did accomodate for next day at noon. With chicken biryani they provided red curry. It was hot than average but perfectly made. So you cant enough of it. Tastes awesome. Veg biryani was good too. Upon request they kept salad separate than curd. We mixed it while serving. Overall- must have place.

Loved it. This place was recommended to me on one of my Quora answer's comments. It's a small outlet so I missed to see it whenever I was around this area. This is the reason I visited it much later than I had originally planned. The first thing I liked about the food is its authentic feel. The macchhi thali feels like straight from Konkan. Taste is superb. I have tried their Surmai thali, prawns biryani and chicken thali. I would highly recommend their Macchi thali. Along with refreshing unlimited tambda-pandhra rassa they serve macchi kalvan in the thali which is a surprise. It is amazing. Chapati and Bhakri in the thali are so good that it feels like home made. Dish rates are quite reasonable considering the quantity, the taste and the hygiene. It's not a big place. So you will have to wait to get a place in case you are going there in peak hours. So I would recommend to go early lunch and dinner hours to peacefully enjoy the dishes. I hope they maintain their superb quality forever.

Pandhara rassa and chicken fry is the highlight of thali.....tambada rassa is not good..... Many people prefer chicken biryani at this place but mostly it is out of stock..... Prongs biryani is also nice....in Fish thali mostly fish fry is good...... Prices are reasonable..... Updated:- Tried chicken dum biryani and prongs biryani at this place and both were amazing. The chicken was soft and tasty, the prongs were also delicious and fresh. They give both rassa with biryani, pandhara rassa with biryani is a nice combo. Must try biryani at this place.

Place is compact but we'll organised. Chiken Thali is most common and affordable cource there is. As it's a Kolhapuri Cuisine based, you get traditional chiken curry and white curry(Tambda-Pandhra) and as an appetizer solkadi is available which tests good. For rest of the dishes the quality is average. There are both options available, dine in and take away. Curry is unlimited.

Hotel located in thermax chowk , this hotel is famous for kokani and kolhapuri cuisines . I had never tried this combination before i tried kolhapuri tambada pandhara rassa and malvani curry with solkadhi and all but here you get perfect combination of both delicacies . Other options are available here but you should try thali whether it us fish thali , chicken thali , mutton thali or prawns thali . Tried prawns thali and veg thali . I didn't quite like veg thali but prawns thali is awsome best one of the best prawns i ever had . You will get bhakari or chapati option . Ambience is not that good there is lot of scope for improvement . Taste is best for sea food and non veg loveers. Prawns thali cost around 370 all thalis are in the same range except veg thali.

Fantastic Nonveg food and good service. The place is bit small but manageable. They provide fish preparations too. We had Chicken Thali. Chicken was tender. Made in fresh coconut. Solkadhi was good too. They provide Bajra Roti, Chapati. Surmai, Kolambi and Pomfret preparations are also available. Service is fast and staff is very attentive. Good experience.
