Recently I visited this resto with my friend. We ordered beef masala and bangada fry with paratha.
As this is my third time I am visiting this hotel.
Food taste is good. Cleanliness to be improved.
You will get food very soon as you place the order.
Staff is polite. They come and ask whether you need something extra like paratha. Even they suggest you what you suppose to take and how much quantity.
Please take note. THEY TAKE BILL AMOUNT IN CASH ONLY. THEY DO NOT HAVE ON LINE PAYMENT OR CARD PAYMENT. ITS CASH PAYMENT NOT CASH LESS PAYMENT.
TRY THIS HOTEL FOR DELICOUS BIRAYANI,KABABS,NON VEG ITEMS. ITS VERY POCKET FRIENDLY.
The best Beef Chilli dry, and kheema masala is the must preferred. Simply cooked meat and chicken and served fresh. Place is a bit noisy but has a family corner if ua with a girl ir family. Food for 2 less than 350 tummy filled.
The food is very tasty and the prices are reasonable.
Nothing like it.
Quality is just average.
A lot of variety and you can rest assured it will be tasty.
Ambience is ok.
We were hanging out in the Camp area and were craving for some meaty food 🤩😋🍗🍖 Right then we spotted Hotel Sahil and looked no further! The sight & aroma of the kebabs and shawarma was so tempting, we were pulled in like magnets 🌀 We were guided to the 1st floor which is the family section and straight off we got into ordering.
* Chicken Shawarma roll
* Tandoori Chicken
* Parathas & Tandoori Rotis
* Dal Gosth
* Chicken Biryani
Quite a long list 😁 We devoured every bite of the each dish we ordered. It was absolutely delicious and we wiped off our plates clean to the last bite! Super satisfied with the food.
The ambiance of this place may not be that great but it's good food & service and Value for money that gets people coming in 👍😀

Chicken Angara and Paratha here is my soul food. The Best. Love it. Whenever I eat this dish I feel Peace. I'll eat it everyday without getting bored. Its awesome.❤️
Expercie at sahil in camp area near shivaji market was great! If you are a hardcore foodiee who loves mutton and beef then do visit here! They never make us dissapoint. Ambiance was decent with family section on upper floor. We ordered for beef fry, mutton masala and butter paneer masala and the quality of the food was more than enough with huge quantity. Service was quick .Beef fry was yummy and crunchy. Mutton masala tasted superb and really loved the butter tandoori roti. Everything was made with good taste. Price was absolutely value for money place. Just good food. A very good experience and really visit again!
Review No 503:
I was introduced to Sahil in Camp by a friend who swears by their Mutton Kheema and their version of the Tandoori Roti.
Ambience: Do not expect the world as this place is more known for its food rather than ambience. Reminded me of the days in Hyderabad honestly with Shahgouse and Ruhmaan in Tolichowki being the first two places which came to mind seeing their setup.
Service: In spite of the influx of patrons, the staff knows their table count well and do a great job in ensuring that patrons are not left hanging for attention.
What did we have:
Mutton Kheema Methi and Tandoori Roti: The mutton Kheema was prepared well with the meat cooked well, spiced up nicely and topped with coriander when served with a huge Tandoori Roti, which was unlike what I have tasted so far ever.
Mutton Masala: What a super cooked meat with the combination of the strong spices to make it one tasteful dish.
Tandoori Roti: Like I have mentioned before in the review, I have not had such a size and taste which comes with a Tandoori Roti. Loved it.
Mutton Biryani: A small portion of the dish which is not Biryani perhaps in the true sense of the word, but the preparation in itself was great. Loved the gravy which lay underneath along with the succulent pieces of mutton.
Chicken Tandoori: May not have been their strongest preparation but was surely was lip smacking.
Irani Chai: No meal is complete without a Irani chai at the end of it. The taste was excellent, and I can proudly it was very close to the one I had in Nimrah (in Charminar).
Price: Absolutely a Value for Money place with no frills attached. Just good food.
Here's how our experience at Sahil was post our maiden visit:
Food: 4/5
Price: 4/5
Service: 4/5
Ambience: 3/5

Overall: 4/5 (Implied rating of 4)
My friend recommended me about this hotel.. So went here...
Ambience is not so attractive but a big place.. Fast service and crowdy place..
Tried chicken shawrma, chicken maharaja half, butter paratha, mutton biryani...
Quality as well as quantity is awsome...
Its pocket friendly..
My friend tried chicken khajana they said that was also nice.. So try it..
One of the cheapest Non-Veg restaurants in Pune which serves good food. Have tried their Tandoori Roti, Chicken Korma, Parathas and Sulaimani Tea.
Everything was made good with good taste.
The Sulaimani Tea here is an inevitable part during my visits here. Served with Pudhina leaves in big glass, it really refreshes you. The ambiance and service is a part they can improve on.
One of the cheapest non vegetarian place in pune I have ever visited. They serve delicious non veg at pocket friendly prices. I visited here for lunch on one of my colleague's suggestion and I was not disappointed. Ambiance was decent with family section on upper floor.
We ordered kerala parota, mutton keema fry and biryani rice. Service is quick. The quantity of food was more than enough for two of us. Keema fry was delicious and so was parota. Biryani rice tasted superb with keema fry.
Experience at Sahil was great. If you are a hardcore foodie who loves mutton, beef and chicken, then do visit here. Have heard about there shawarma a lot, I will definitely try it next time.
Dont expect any fancy seating or an ambiance. Its all about the food. I personally didnt find the food doing wonders on my tastebuds, but yes if you are looking for hard-core non vegetarian food head here.
If you would be ordering less option of dishes one dish will serve a single person, provided you are a decently good eater. If ordering a variety single dishes wud work.
Things like the chicken samosa, tawa gosht, beef (water buffalo) roll are good. The kheema fry was mediocre. Tried paya gravy. It didn't seem like it was freshly made. Paya being an extremely flavour packed dish if made the right way. This one in particular lacked everythg. The biryani again was okay. Decent quantity. The big sized chapatis are ok.
If you are a hardcore non vegetarian, then do not think twice and head here!!! The tawa ghosh, beef kheema, and chilly beef fry is just out of this world!!! If you are on a diet please do not consider this place!! 🤣
The chapati was fresh and perfect...!!
A must try while at camp...
So this was my first beef (buff) 🐃 outing in pune
It's very close to shivaji market in the camp area
So this restaurant is run by malayali muslims who started it some 5 years back apparently
The ambience is far better than I expected actually.. It's a huge space with a huge ceiling.. Lots of air so no issues there.. And it's well lit and packed at night
They serve shawarma.. Beef stuff.. 2 Kerala fish varities.. Chicken mutton etc..
So i ordered a beef makhani and 2 rotis
I had never heard of this beef makhani concept before so found it interesting
So it came and it had a generous serving of butter to it.. No shortage there.. And the gravy was surprisingly good but here's the catch..
There were hardly any beef pieces first of all and as such I couldn't get the beef flavour because the butter was too overpowering
So overall I just felt like I was eating a makhani gravy.. Dunno why there were hardly any pieces
So that was definitely a disappointment
Coming to the rotis.. They were huge.. Just like the ones at Bagdadi.. The exact same size probably.. So 2 are more than enough for almost any person.. Add to it the butter and a bottle of coke and you'll be full
So couldn't try anything else
Though I did get to try a piece of the beef chilli fry and it was just decent.. Actually it wasn't fresh at all.. Dunno when they prepare and keep it
Time and again my experience has shown me that Maharashtra is just not the place for beef and nobody can get it right like a mallu
It could be the preparation.. It could be the NEEL GAI.. Dunno.. But it's all sad
But since they have a lot more items.. I'm definitely going back to try them
And oh yes.. It's pretty cheap so no issues there.. You get good food at cheap prices
Also I finally found a place in pune that serves shawarma.. Thank the good heavens!!!
More on the other stuff later.. Whenever I go again.. Which'll be pretty soon..
27th May 2017 dinner
Ordered a beef biryani.. Beef kheema fry and parotta
Finally had my first good buff biryani in Maharashtra.. Finally.. Beef kheema was good too.. So was the kerala parotta
There were enough pieces in the biryani today.. And the whole flavour was great too.. The spices n all.. The pieces were also yum
All great for the price
Food is cheap, absolute delish, and spicy. Maybe a little too spicy for some people, but its pocket friendly. Service is quick. Even though it is not a fine dine, you would enjoy this place with a bunch of friends. We order Keema masala, Beef biryani, Rolls and Parathas. Keema Masala was mind numbing good, and they taste superb along with Parathas. Rolls had a good filling but tastes average.
I recommend it to anyone who has strong affection for spicy food.
Those who want delicious cheap beef and mutton then this is your destination. Food is cheap, hotel have a decent ambience, service is fast and they have family section too. Taste gives ek dum desi feel. Mutton Paya is so good that you hardly get it, it gets over as soon as it was prepared. Place needs more improvement in ambience and air flow.
For all the Bheja and Beef lovers this is the cheapest place to get 'em. A simple hotel, no interesting ambience. The place is almost always full. Getting your food home delivered or taking a parcel would be recommended. Tried their Mutton Paya and Beef Fry. Unfortunately they didn't have any bheja the time I visited.
Decent place if you want to eat good food for cheaper rates.
Another restaurant for them beef lovers, the most common dish I like from here is the beef chilly dry. Its got that taste that compliments with any dish you have, best you're having rice and dal fry or paratha and this dish. If you're a hard core non vegetarian, then i recommend you visit this place and never hesitate to order the beef chilly dry. Also, if you happen to drop by during the evening, you'd love to also grab a Shwarma from this place.
Amazing food, love the beef chilly dry and gravy.... its affordable, you can look at hygine over there... stomach filling....!!!parking is a problem so dont take your car,....
Awesome place to have cheap and delicious food. Earlier I got confused between this hotel sahil and the other one at Rasta peth. This one's in Camp area. The one with the Sexiest shawarma in Pune.
Great food at competitive prices. Diverse menu options efficient service.
Great Parathas.
Hygienically and aesthetically pleasing than most restaurants in the area. A Must visit
Undoubtedly the best Shawarma of Pune. Ignore the ambiance, hygiene, etc and enjoy the food.
PS: Don't even try to take the car in this area. Parking woos..
Tasty, lip smacking n cheap food. Tandoori rotis n parathas r very nice. But lagging in cleanliness n hygene. Well i dont think the management even cares bot it. But the food is good. Always a fall back option of mine in case of late night dinner.
This is a huge space in camp. Its started by a south Indian who has moved in from the gulf. The shawarmas here are yum and so is most if the other food. I also regularly buy the maida parothas from here. Only recently did i decide to not take my food away and try and dine in. They have the general section down and the family section on top. The family section is decent but very very basic. There is no ac or celieng fan they just have a few wall fans. The cutlery is reasonable and no doubt the food is yum. So if you are a foodie who does not mind going places for good food irrespective of the ambiance you must try the place. If nothing else a take away is surely recomended.
Super packed during lunch hours. Fast service. Must try their beef items and kashmiri pulav and the rates are very much reasonable. Seating arrangement is spacious but the ambience is not soothing
If you are in a mood of having food which will not prick your pocket then this is the place you can have all their beef items and chicken items do try their showrama with roti and in the plate the beef biryani is also decent enough and it accomplishes well with a chai
Cheapest non veg place I have ever visited in pune.
Went there on my roommates suggestion and to my astonishment the food was delicious! More than delicious ctually! There butter roti is heavenly as they use self made butter. If u r beef fan then their beef is also good. Overall I had a sumptuous lunch at this place and have already visites thrice, n planning to visit more.
if ur hungry and eat something budget friendly.. well this is the place for you...
service is very good.. place is clean.. and you will always find comfortable place to sit... try beef chilly (personal favourite) for starters....chicken shorma is also gud.. other gravy items are also good.. I have been there many times and never has it crossed us above 200 per person for dinner..
Total paisa vasoool .. A great variety for nonvegeterian and that tastes good with bottled zeera soda thats available only in that hotel.. Very economical max 250 per person ..
There are places where you go just for the food.Everything else ,ambience, service, cleanliness(yeah,im not that picky) is just filler.Saahil is one such place. It's not difficult to locate, just close enough to Yezdan and Dorabjees. This is primarily a meat eaters paradise.I haven't seen anyone actually ordering a veg dish here.So Im gonna stick to the tried and tested dishes. The beef fry served here is not actually "fried".It's just big chunks of soft meat spiced to perfection and goes along well with the Kerala Parathas or plain rice. The beef chilly fry and the beef biryani(south style)is to die for.The kheema masala is alright but the kheema fry is the actual winner. They serve some decent chicken dishes too.I did kinda like the chicken 65(spicy and juicy). The fish preparations though are just plain ordinary(Bangda and Surmayi). The quantities are sufficient and the service is ok.The place though is a bit dirty. They've got a family room upstairs which remains packed throughout the day.In short,it's another one of those economical meat paradises you find a lot at Camp. And yeah, one more thing, the beef rolls served are the real deal.Im not sure what the recipe is ,but it tastes of proper succulent meat, mashed with spicy chillies and black pepper(It's awesome (I hate this clichéd word though))
Continuing on my Ramzan foodwalk in the city, I came upon SAHIL the other day. Take the straight road up from Dorabjee & Sons, cross the road at the intersection (Sharbatwala Chowk) and continue ahead and you will immediately see SAHIL on your left as you walk from Dorabjee towards Shivaji Market.
I picked up the following from their special iftar spread and was quite bowled over.
CHICKEN CUTLET @ Rs 20 a piece: Angel hair pasta or seviyan covered good sized crisp cutlets – surprisingly spicy & flavourful with generous use of green chillies and therefore exciting to the palate. To counter its heat, I had to pick up the Khaja (see below) and it was perfect as a twosome.
CHICKEN SAMOSAS @ Rs 12 a piece: Absolutely first rate – chicken with finely chopped veggies inside a crisp pastry. I don’t know how I will return to the regular Aloo Samosas after encounters with non-veg samosas at all these Ramzan stalls that I have been liberally treating myself to!
BEEF ROLL @ Rs 40 a piece: They had a stack of prepared rolls but I asked for a fresh one and they complied readily with my request. It was truly a gorgeous one – well cooked beef mince filling inside a standard maida roll, lined on the inside with egg, cut up as you would a spring roll in about 6-8 pieces. I had them with Thums Up but saved a few pieces for next day’s tea time treat and it was even better with a hot beverage.
KHAJA @ Rs 15 a piece: This was the perfect thing to have with the above savoury snacks since it is a sweet item composed of flaky layers of maida kneaded with ghee and sugar, often times nuts sandwiched between the layers and then fried. They had a fresh batch of Khaja when I visited the stall and so it practically sold itself. It is advisable you have it fresh although the inside layers did seem moist enough to survive refrigeration – I regret not having picked up more.
If you visit the stall, find Shafique Ahmed to help you coz he was a real sweetheart in complying with all sorts of requests I made. They pack the items nicely in brown paper bags unlike most other stalls which would pack them in torn newspaper halves. I hadn’t expected much from them since the evening I came upon them, there wasn’t exactly a throng to inspire confidence but by the time I finished with getting my order packed, an impressive enough crowd had turned up so that is an enviable endorsement from the neighbourhood folks right there. They have a proper dining area inside of course since this is a restaurant – you could plonk yourself there as well as I saw many patrons do. I plan to try their other Ramzan specials like BEEF KADI, NARGEES KEBAB, SHAMI KEBAB etc. next.
The prices at these Ramzan stalls and the high quality of grub has proven to me exactly how conned we get at most of the regular restaurants we frequent the rest of the time. I haven’t had one episode of any kind of digestive trouble in all these meanderings – this when I am fairly prone to it and therefore (try to) strictly avoid street food sold on actual streets generally. But these Ramzan spreads are truly blessed stuff – be it at Imdadi, Sharif, Shalimar, Sahil, the stalls at Kausar Bagh etc. – and at the risk of reiteration, I have to say a complete steal at those prices. Go find yourself a merry feast this festive season. Ramzan Kareem all over again!
Been there countless times, if you want to try some cheap nonveg (Beef/Chicken) food in camp area then this is another a good food joints for you.
Must Try:- bheja fry, tawa gosht, dal gosht, biryani
Ambiance:- Not good, i mostly prefer takeaway
Vaule for money:- prices are very fair.
Sometimes when you are short of money, but still you want to eat something spicy, you will definitely opt for restaurants like this. Very cheap, but if you compare the cost with the quality and taste they serve, definitely you wont be disappointed. The taste is really good. mmm no comments on the HYGIENE but sometimes unhygienic is kewl ;)
Jokes apart, food is good.
Average place as ambience os not good.
Food is good but hygiene and cleanliness is not ok.
Good for One time visit
Hotel Sahil serves delicious non veg at pocket friendly prices. I visited here for lunch on one of my colleague's suggestion and I was not disappointed. Ambiance was decent with family section on upper floor.
We ordered kerala parota, mutton keema fry and biryani rice. Service was quick. The quantity of food was more than enough for two of us. Keema fry was delicious and so was parota. Biryani rice tasted superb with keema fry.
Experience at Sahil was great. If you are a hardcore foodie who loves non vegetarian, then do visit here. It is one of the cheapest non vegetarian place in pune I have ever visited.
This is restaurant for masses.
Crowded , fast moving, lot of variety, low end pricing, reasonably good taste.. liked chk, prawns and egg curry. Paratha and roti both are very good.
Chk Biryani was ok ok.
Hotel Sahil hidden by the lanes of MG Road is a gem of restaurant pocket friendly and good food. This place has got from Biryani's to kebabs to shawarma. They have dining area for family a level above within the restaurant. We had chicken biryani which was simple and best like any other caterer cooks that cost 150/-. Biryani quantity is good for two people. Kerala paratha cost you around 10/- and definitely lot of starters fry and curry to go with it. Two people can have lunch or dinner for around 300/- and that would be sufficient.
Awesome tasty food with Pocket friendly menu
Mostly for Non vegetarian recipes
Still very affordable and tasty food
Try the beef fry with tandoori roti. Wouldn’t recommend keema with chana, a disappointment . I was hoping it would be like the ones you get in Mumbai Pune Expressway dhabas. The shrimp biryani was good enough for one to consider.
Visited Lunch Time as well as Dinner Time.
Served well, less waiting time for food.
Tried Beef Briyani, Chicken Briyani, Parotta, Beef Handi, Roti, Chicken Gravy, Rabdi etc..,
Everything is soo good & budget Friendly also.
Will visit next time also if got chance..
1200-1300 for 6 peoples.
Hole in the wall eatery outside shivaji market for a quick meal. This restaurant is known for it's non vegetarian Mohammedan cuisine. Wide array of items are available at pocket friendly prices. They are known for their Dal ghosh and kheema parathas. The place seems hygienic compared to it's peers serving similar food in the area.
Another gem in the camp area. Their lachchha paratha is a treat!! Soft, bouncy and ample lachchha coming out of it. Also had Beef Makhni. I was warned that the gravy may be on the sweeter side but I went ahead.
And they did not disappoint. It was a treat for the senses. It did look spicy, but it was very flavorful, buttery and with a right hint of sweetness. The pieces were very soft, I wasn't able to believe it was really beef.
Their speciality, chilli beef is something I was not much impressed about. The lean cut of beef was cut into strips, marinated in some paste/batter and then deep fried. It did not give the beefy taste and the batter was overpowering the dish as the beef strips were very thin.
You can also try their custard.
Tasty food. We had here it twice and everytime it's taste is awesome.
Good and affordable place to jave non vegetarian food (if you don't mind okayish atmosphere)
Food test is good, all non veg lover must visit, heaven for spicy kind of people, tandoori chicken was good and kheeema ghotla was fabulous, biryani was not very my test it was sweet somehow
Good place to hang out with family and friends. Great option and taste. Would recommend.
Very Good restaurant but limited menu, No kekabs, I tried mutton kheema fry, little bit spicy, as compared to Madina restaurant, madina is Best
Very nice. We enjoyed food. We always visit there with family.
A great place for non-veg food. Absolutely delicious. Korma and Lachha Parantha is an absolute must
Decent restaurant to get served in better and cheapest way with a variety of items. Delicious, spacious restaurant and above all pocket friendly... Do visit and taste urself...
