Place to hang out across age groups. Keep on sitting way past after eating and nobody minds. Naturally shaded and kinda cool
Lots of Fond memories while studying in Ferguson during late 90's just felt nostalgic hope they still serve Bun Wada with sambar and chutni
Awesome food...
Gharach jewan...
Must taste the food...
#Sunday mornings be like this!!
When I don’t want to be lazy and in bed, I wake up at 7 am ( that’s definitely pretty early on a Sunday morning), drop my kid at her dance class and go visit this place on BMCC road.
.
.
.
All it offers in quality food, quiet place to hangout, nostalgic college memories to keep company and happiness that the pocket is not much lighter than before! But isn’t that all we need to make a perfect meal? You can just add a great company and you are all set to have the time of your life!
.
.
I like to visit this place on especially a Sunday mornings where I can see so many people my age and elders visiting here with their friends.
.
.
.
Acting like exactly the collegiates they were couple of years back, they sit back to enjoy spicy gossip with the hot cup of tea. Proving once again that we can keep the child in us alive and kicking, age be damned!

Place: IMDR canteen, BMCC road, Pune
Cost: This tray cost me Rs.50/-

It may seem a bit pricey for a college canteen, but it's also very hygenic for a college canteen. Bread Masala here has been my favourite, followed by, chaha, duh! Being a part of Fergusson College campus, it has a simple yet scenic ambience. Perfect for hanging out during the college after-hours.
Being a Fergusson student, I have spent as much time at IMDR as much in lectures(perhaps even more).
It’s one of the best places in the city for breakfast! The misal, sada dosa, special instant coffee, limbu sarbat and chaha are my personal favourites. Everything on the menu is tasty and freshly made. Plus, it’s very affordable and totally worth the price.
The service and staff is extremely friendly. The place itself is quaint and cosy.
Bound to be one of your amazing breakfasts.
Amazing food. South Indian, Maharashtrian, and fast food is there which makes it have a lot of variety. Only thing is that it closes too early at night time
IMDR is a great breakfast place. The uttapas, idli, Poha, misal, upma all are fab breakfast dishes served here. For someone who's wants a break from Vaishali it is a great place to go. The food is yummy , place bustling with ppl on weekends and a good atmosphere.
Being student of Ferguson College, this place needs to paid visits at regular instances. Hygienic college canteen. Better than rest other canteens in campus.
Sitting area is clean. Taste wise it's good. Apart from Italian, the menu includes maharashtrian, south indian and north indian dishes.
Taste of food is nice. Bread masala is one of popular items on list. I have tried many of food items from the menu, didn't disappoint.
Only drawback is token system. It causes chaos. During peak periods you have to wait for some extra time to get your order. Otherwise it's good option for breakfast.
This is the canteen I love the most in Pune
All my college memories belong here and revisiting here is always my favourite
The staff is fast and the food is good quality
Rates are regular and the teaste is really good
Love the Misal, dabeli , vada pav and cold coffee here 😋
I am visiting this place since I was in college..it is very good place to have food and to spend time..Some people might feel it costly but they are providing good quality food and ambiance.. Students can even sit there and complete assignments or project..no restrictions on sitting timing..
IMDR is very hygienic and clean..... Food Quality is good. Dosa,Uttappa all the south Indian dishes are exclusively great with tasty sambar. The only problem is IMDR is a bit costly, sandwich and coffee are some of the items that are especially costly but rest all is good!
Excellent quality and hygiene. Taste is also very good! Rates are reasonable and ambience is nice. A good pocket friendly place for having breakfast.

Perfect college canteen ambience. Good taste, very reasonable prices. I Often like to spend time here with a cup of hot chocolate. Also must try misal here...
The IMDR canteen on bmcc road is a nice cafe type place welcome for all. They serve a variety of fast food items like vada pav, sandwiches, misal pav, pav bhaji etc. The place is hygienic, service is quick, rates are reasonable and food is tasty. There is outdoor seating and you can sit for how much ever time you want. It's a favourite among college students.
Canteen is very nice... I liked the tokkan system...vada pav, cold coffee, bread items, paratha, tea, pav bhaji at pocket friendly prices.
For college croud, open for all, must go place to hangout for snacks with friends
At first we got lost. But then it was a good experience, the owner is a nice person. You would not believe at first that it is a college canteen, because you know why. But good food at pocket friendly price. I would surely visit again.
Couldn't miss reviewing this place!!
My College canteen ❤️❤️
The Vadapav here is tooo Awesome !!
Hot chocolate, cold coffee, sabudana vada, kacchi dabeli chilli garlic cheese sandwich are also great!!
This place has a serene and peaceful ambience though it is not very quiet. It is very pocket-friendly. The hot coffee that i had was for 20 rs and was totally worth it.The kokum sarbat is amazing !
Excellent food (snacks) and at a very reasonable price. I also love the set up of this place (covered by green trees). Misal and Batata Wada are my favourites.
Nice place for a lazy breakfast...not too pricey either considering that it's a canteen! Must try the South Indian options and of course the Misal...
This canteen is great for tasty and affordable food... I enjoy the coffee, vada pav, SPDP and South Indian dishes!
The ambience reminds you a bit of Mapro Garden! All in all, it's worth a visit.
A bright Sunday morning, a game of football followed by plans to visit the most popular outlet for breakfast... The plan changes to visit the IMDR canteen and we see its empty.
But once we've devoured the tasty and adequate quantity pohe, upma, sabudana wada with the chutney , and unlimited rounds of excellent quality buttermilk and lassie... We just fell in love with this place.
The less staff made us wait a bit, but it was just what we needed... Quality quiet time to catch up with old buddies. By the time we left, the place had picked up some buzz..
I can't wait to take my wife there for some quiet, snacking time and try other delicacies.
Past student of Ferguson college . Mesmerized all memories of this canteen very neat and clean . Everyday we were there. Long as i always order green tea there.
Good food, quick service, great location and light on the wallet. I visit this place almost on every weekday. Vada Pav and Vada Sambar are among the best.
Food - 4.5/5
Ambience - 4/5
Hospitality - 3.5/5
Cost - 5/5
Trending place with all veg options available. Importantly two wheeler and four wheeler parking is available. Timing is morning 6.30 to evening 7.00.
Simple hangout place in Central Pune. Food here is great but it is self-service. Upma is highly recommended! It is a good place to chit chat for a long time with friends in the open dining area. Go early as food tends to run out with passing of time. Affordable rates and good food so basically good hangout spot even for students!
On June 24, 2023 we went to IMDR Canteen for lunch. We were nine people. One friend suggested trying out their Misal Pav. It costs
70 rs. We had a look at the menu and decided to have Misal Pav.
We placed the order and made the payment. The waiting time is very less. They served us the food very quickly. You have to collect your order from the food counter. It's a self-service system. The ambience is amazing. It isn't very noisy. The sitting arrangements are well done. It's an awesome vibe. With Misal Pav, you get two pavs, one bowl of misal along with farsan, sev, onion (typical misal). The taste is decent. It's neither too good, nor too bad. For an additional Pav pair it costs 10 rs and for a sev plate it costs 20 rs.
Overall it was a good experience.
There are a lot of other items on their menu.
The service and ambience is amazing.
I highly suggest you to give a try to IMDR and try different items from the menu.
Unfortunately I couldn't get a close up pic of the food, I only have this group picture :-))
(All the prices mentioned are relevant to the date this review is written, check the menu for updated prices)
The ambience and food was great, as it's self service, we need to carry our own food. Fast service. Misal/tea/ kothambir vadi/ sabudana vada were not upto the mark.
Imdr canteen is home to several fergussonians, Punekars and students in general. They serve absolutely amazing food at a good price.
You should try their machine coffee, aloo butter paratha, cut dosa and veg grilled sandwich.
It's a place full of nostalgia for those past their student lives. 🌸♥️
Food potions are large enough for value of money. This is definitely a plus point . Food quality was also good , piping hot dishes were served . Enough space for large groups . parking FACILITY IS GOOD. Rates of items are also very reasonable.
Wonderful place to have breakfast or Lunch. Simple but worth. Open canteen with fresh air and atmosphere. Famous within the students.
IMDR Canteen is really good place for Old Time Friends to meet. On Weekend mornings, it is Full of multiple large group's re-union type meetings. It is very good Family Restaurant, where Food quality is very good and at very much reasonable rates. It works in Self Service Basis. The Place is very Clean and good with lot of Parking space.
There is self service. Quality of food & snacks is too good & testy. Price also is very reasonable.
Although born and brought up in Pune, never had the opportunity to visit IMDR canteen. Today, visited restaurant with my scoolmates. ambience is perfect andnfood is delicious. Must visit.
