Went to this places after ages, so wanted to go to this place as the last time I had gone to this place was so great that I just wanted to come back to this place again n again. So, finally post one of my city bike rides went to this place went here with couple of my friends. Order Special mutton thali to eat and boy it was like yummmmm. Unlimited servings of Tamba n Pandra rassa my only regret no Indrayani Rice. For all the mutton lovers in Pune would definitely suggest you to go this place and for outsiders as well.
A good place in Sadashiv Peth for typical Kolhapuri food. We tried the Mutton Thali. It was good but mutton was a little raw. We also tried Kheema, Mutton Pickle in the thali which was good as well. The best part was Tambda Rassa, Pandhra rassa and Jawar Bhakari which was very soft.
Excellent place for Kolhapuri type chicken and mutton dishes. Most economical and authentic place with unique taste. Best part is chicken cooking, it doesn't even smell and teeth doesn't need to work extra. Must go place.
Good food. Good taste. Last 10 years, I'm visiting this place regularly for Chicken Dum Biryani n Chicken Thali. Tambda Rassa n Pandhra Rassa is also good.
well in time great servise
Well, have been ordering food from here. And it is mind blowing... very reasonably priced, great taste, and quality and quantity of non-veg is great - more meat than bones - unlike many places which disappoint on this front.
It is indeed on a bit spicier side. Mutton handi is delicious. Mutton biryani is good as well, so is the curry that accompanies it. Mutton fry is okish.
Overall great choice to order food from when you crave for some spicy non vegetarian food.
An old eatery in Pune serving traditional Maharashtrian non veg food since 20 years.
Ambience is ok.
A little bit difficult to find in the buisy and zigzag Lanes of Sadashiv peth.
Go for mutton thali along with bhakri and order kheema plate separately.
Although a lot of new eateries offering kolhapuri cuisine have been opened in Pune, it remains unique due to it's taste and value for money which proves the fact"Old is Gold".
The 'peths' of Pune have a different story to tell. The old houses and streets have their own charm and even as Pune goes cosmopolitan the Maharashtrian flavour clings to these hoods! Go to breathe in the culture.
The Maratha Kolhapur Darbar - A quaint little shop at Sadashiv Peth (close to Peru Gate) and ironically next to Brahmin Mangal Karyalaya, serves the spicy kolhapuri meat and some really kickass thalis. It started somewhere in 1972 as a veg joint which slowly started serving mutton and became the local favourite!
Ambience as expected is old and basic but hygiene has been maintained. Cleanliness can be observed via the 'open kitchen'. I went for the Special Mutton Thali - mutton curry, Kheema, mutton thecha ( pickled kheema), 1 bhakri, 1 chapati, Biryani rice :) yes they give you just the Biryani rice in special Thali :)!! Teekhat teekhat mutton and kheema which was really cooked to perfection. Also you get pandhra rasaa ( white yummy soup kinda curry - I drank it like a fish ) and tambhda rassa.
You dine here for 100-250 Rs. per person depending on what you order.
Lots to explore on men, including veg stuff.
Absolutely simple and absolutely amazing! They boast of Nana Patekar and Daler Mehndi visits ( had lunch and dinner on same day here) and you can spot old pune photos hanging on little wall.
Be ready to share tables and to wait for your turn :) They have a family section which is just as basic as rest.

Pune restaurants are normally hopeless for Mutton.... But this is one of those which really blew my mind.... Simply awesome Mutton sukka, Mutton biryani and associated chicken dishes..... Bhakri is avg.... Waiting to try Gavran in future.... This eatery is humble and taste is really good.... & highly cost effective... The amount they serve is actually more than enough for two.... But make sure you go for Mutton for special days like weekends, holiday etc....
A small place, didnāt expect much, but the food BLEW MY MIND! I WAS LITERALLY TRANSPORTED TO FOOD HEAVEN WHEN I TOOK THE FIRST BITE.I had the Chicken Fry Thali and Mutton Fry thali both thalis were AMAZING.Everything was prepared from scratch, piping hot which added to the wow factor.Everything was perfect,but..yes thereās always a but,I couldāve killed for a solkadhi after such a sumptuous meal, which they couldnāt provide due to the absence of a refrigerator.Maratha Kolhapur Darbar is worth all the time you have in the world,so you must visit this place when youāre nearby.
Mutton masala and kheema should try out here. Well, important thing is here we can have half plate of biryani which is sufficient for one person.
Kala masala made non veg is plus point.
Twice we had taste... Its spicy.. Good i loved it... Sitting arrangements is compact.. U hv to wait, sometimes.. But food quality is good.. Service is also good... We taste Chicken biryani.. Chicken masala... Kheema.. And chicken special thali... Everything is tasty.. Their parsel system is also good... Mutton products are also good..one thing want to tell u they charge extra for extra plate while sharing... Or else all is good.. Any plate is enough for two... If u r not heavy eater.. Haha
This is a tiny place like old style canteen with 5-6 tables only. But being true to its name, they serve some good kolhapuri style non-veg food. We had thali. Tambda and pandhara rassa (meaning red and white mutton clear soups) were damn good. Mutton Kheema was also very well prepared. It was a filling meal with the bhakri. Rest of the things in the thali were ok.
If any dish has the power to make a meat loverās mouth water, it is definitely the āmutton rassaā. . There are many variations to this dish but the one eatery which has stayed true to its original Kolhapuri recipe is the Maratha Kolhapur Darbar in Sadashiv Peth. This small eatery serves the most authentic and mouth watering rassa. thatās why it is always filled with mutton loving connoisseurs. Do try the mutton fry thali here and also the mutton kheema along with the ' Sol kadhi '.
Had a strong craving for typical Maharashtrian Nonveg food. So we headed to Sadashiv Peth area were some small but good restaurants serving such food are located. Looking around , we finally zeroed down on this place. Orders Chicken Thali. Chicken gravy, Tambda Rassa, Pandhara Rassa -both unlimited, two jumbo size bajra bhakris, rice. And all of this for 160. Quantity was huge enough to satisfy even ferocious eater. Taste was really nice and ambience apt to match the food. Though small and simple place, it certainly seems clean and hygienic. Surely recommended...Absolute value for money!! Pandhara rassa is simply awesome!
Absolutely delicious Chicken thali , pandhra rassa was best i hav ever tasted and while ambience was not good but still taste will take you there.
Awesome non veg food . Not much spicy but not sweet too. One of the hotel which provides authentic chicken. Biryani ani thali what i ate and mast . Sadashiv peth becoming hub for non veg food at it rank above it
Good food.. Mutton thali was good.. Don't think it was too heavy. The options were good. Would have loved to see some fast service or attentive service given the space of the restaurant. It's small but the quality is good
As a first-time visitor to Pune, this was the first taste of Kolhapuri cuisine. The place is nondescript from the outside, and tiny inside. The food however was simply delicious. We ordered a thali (mutton) and a chicken biryani and gobbled it down. We are small eaters so didn't go in for seconds, regretfully. The service was prompt and the proprietor was rather amused with our interest in his tiny eatery. He was curious to know how we discovered it and pleased when I told him I'd read about his "darbar" on the Net. The meal cost us less than five hundred bucks, so that didn't hurt either.
If you are a die hard non veggie. Then you must visit this place.
Though the infra is not up to the mark, but the food is way beyond the mark.
I have gone to this hotel more than 20 times and out of that more than 15 times I have ordered the same "Thali".
Special Mutton Fry Thali.
Which consists of Dry Mutton, Mutton pickle and Mutton keema and each one of them is an experience.
Do visit this hotel, it will be worth a visit.
If you love kolhapuri spicy mutton or chicken then i would recommend you to please visit. The food was tasty and spicy as i like.if you like biryani's then try mutton biryani.
For reasons best known to me, I got a take-away instead of sitting there n havin my grub. So I wont be able to comment much on the staff or the thaali. Got a mutton kheema and a mutton masala. With familiar Kolhapuri spices tickling my palate and the succulent meat with it's satiety, I wouldn't complain about anything.
The place is well known for it's typical Kolhapuri non-veg food. I had simple chicken thali. It's basic thali which contains Chicken masala and chapati/bhakri with most important- unlimited Kolhapuri Red gravy and White gravy. The food was just like what I wanted. Chicken and White gravy were best. It was slightly more spicy for me but 'not' so extra spicy that half of your time is wasted drinking water and wiping forehead.
The place is much cheaper and I dont think anyone can provide better non-veg meal at this price.
Only drawback- The place is very small with only 5-6 tables. Its not the place if you want very good ambience. But it looks clean and has good crowd and service.
This is one my Favorite Place for Non Veg in Thali System.
i have visited this place last Sunday Afternoon, as i reached at 3PM i don't think there will be rush (usually you have to wait for 30 mins)
there are almost 20-25 peoples Rush outside of hotel awaiting for there Number.... like Mera Number Kab Ayega...!!!! :) :)
i am hungry enough so i ordered "Special Mutton Thali" which includes Mutton Masala,Mutton Kheema,Mutton Achar,Tamda/Pandhra Rassa Bhakri n Rice....
Food is awesome especially Mutton Kheema n Mutton Achar.
Food having authenticate Kolhapuri Taste.
i m sure i'll visit this Place again n Again.
Awesome food. The taste lasts forever.Mutton Loncha is worth trying.
Delicious mutton thali accompanied with kheema and the trademark pickle. The serving staff is enthusiastic and warm.
A definite must visit every time I visit Pune to eat authentic Kolhapuri thali.
Value for money. Decent staff . Recommended, chicken thali along with kheema. Good options available. Cheaper compared to any other restaurant nearby.
Food there was absolutely tasty š¤¤
Very authentic taste and extremely value for money. And the quality and quality was very well maintained. It's been 21 years they are serving the customers. Please visit once on my request!
Affordable price and good taste.
Very nice place with authentic Kolhapuri taste. Definitely 5 stars for Taste of food and the ambiance was beautifully designed. Most recommended if you love Kolhapuri food and taste.
I disovered this place out of nowhere when me and my friend were searching for a 'non veg thali with tambda pandhra'. Tucked in the bylanes of Sadashiv Peth, this place really delivered on its name. Don't go in hoping for a world-class ambiance or service, its a very khanaval store experience. And it only adds to the whole thing. The place has only 4 tables, which are cramped together. The food comes out of a small window behind the kitchen and you constantly hear the rattle from the kitchen mixed with the Marathi serial on the little TV above.
Coming to the food, since we dropped in a little early, just short of 12, the kheema wasn't ready, so we had to settle for thalis that did not have kheema. Mine had chicken masala, chicken fry, anda masala and the usual periphery. The chicken was beautifully cooked, tender, well marinated and perfectly coated in the masala. The fry chicken was delicious and appropriately spicy. The tambda pandhra rassas played perfect yin and yang to each other, while the chapatis were soft and fresh. The rice too was well cooked. The only part Indid not like was the dahi kanda. There was next to no dahi in it. It had been stored in the freezer, probably, so numbed my teeth on the first few bites. And the onions were probably run through a chopper instead of cut by hand, which gave it a bitter taste. We asked for normal sliced onions as an alternative and were provided which was certainly a whole lot better.
The kaka on the counter, who also takes your order and serves you is extremely courteous and polite.
To sum up, I am going back whenever I am having a friendly. Its yummy, homely, and pocket-friendly.
So we had Mutton special thali, prawn masala and matar paneer. All of them.... Awesome. Especially the mutton Thali, it has so many dishes and for 450 rupee, it is worth it absolutely š
This place might seem Little in photos and in real too, but trust me, the chicken thali over here is soo yum! They serve it with two rassa's which are unlimited and they r amazing
One of the best places to have non-veg in the Peth area. Authentic non veg kolhapuri food.
Food was awesome and I'll definitely suggest to try their Solkadhi. Taste is superb.
This is a really nice place to eat nonveg dishes .,šššš
And the maratha special thalis š as in the photos attached was really superb.
What i liked most that this thali has unlimited roti,/bhakri/chapati .
The fish š thali we ordered was also excellently prepared ..
And the cook just nailed the solkadiš· ,
This being a kolhapuri restro we can get the real spice if instructed early .
Overall I liked the food here and look forward to visit again
Must try place if you are craving for authentic Kolhapuri Food.
Their mutton thali and chicken thali are must try.
Simple, delicious with right amount of spice.
Being kolhapuri i must say, their pandra rassa is superior in test than any other restaurants .
I also tried Kolambi thali, which was delicious.
Great food.. amazing menu.. excellent blend with veg and non veg menu..we ordered for mutton thali n all the food in the thali r mouthwatering.
Home like taste. Pure kolhapuri taste.overall good experience in terms of quality, quantity and service of food with reasonable price which makes this place more attractive.
Got to know that this place has amazing chicken thali at a very affordable price range . So decided to visit it. Maratha Darbar serves both veg and non-vegetarian thalis . Their basic thali is ā¹170 which has a chicken curry , egg curry , roti or bhakri, two types of gravies and rice . They also have a special thali which includes everything in normal thali and an extra chicken kheema and a different type of rice. If you have a big appetite you can finish the special thali easily. But the regular thali is enough for a person. If you visit this place you must try their chicken Biryani. It is mouth watering. They also serve mutton thali at same pricing range . The service is fast . But you have to wait for a while because it's mostly crowded.
Definitely visit this place or add it to your to go list .
