According to me, this is the best in the area serving big chunks of chicken pieces unlike the thin malnourished looking tandoori you get at other joints. You will definitely be craving more once you've tried it here.
The restaurant has been around for a long time now and they have a similar branch at MG road. The ambience is not the best, most people take out or have it delivered. Service is quick except during rush hour. Go there for the food not the experience.
It is a go-to place when you're not in the mood to cook at home. Pocket friendly, portion friendly and wheat rotis actually mean wheat! Chicken Taka tak, Chicken Mughlai are my favorites.
Went there for dinner with a friend. Nothing to say about the ambience a normal seating arrangement that is comfortable. Had ordered Afgani malai tandoori, butter chicken and garlic butter naan. Afgani malai tandoori was exceptional, loved it! The chicken was well marinated soft and succulent! Good quantity for a half tandoori nicely char grilled! 5/5 for the tandoori. Main course we ordered butter chicken with was a bit disappointing as the gravy lacked a lot of flavours. There was less gravy and more of chicken pieces. It did not have the kick what a usual buttery butter chicken has. The garlic butter naan was good not too chewy and not to thick a perfect one.
Its the best place with the most mouthwatering food a must try! Lovely experience .... simple decent ambience a 10/10 service justifies the fast food tag

Every sampan I visit serve best tandoori chicken, and love it like heaven itself. Tangdi kebab is also just exquisite. Next best thing here you get is mutton roghan Josh. It's everyone's favourite in my house.

A pocket friendly, nice little restaurant. The tandoor stuff where amazing for the prize. Ordered the chicken taka tak which also turned out to be good and pretty much good quantity. The naans where a bit oily except for that everything was good.

The weekends means late-nights and Sampan is open till late. The home delivery is prompt and the simple ambience, if you choose to eat out, is pretty comfy too. Their tandoor dishes out some pretty good stuff and overall it's nice.

We fondly call Sampan our month end place as their prices are suitable for the pocket even when we are close to being broke.
It is an easy to spot outlet near parmar park wanowerie. There are a few plastic tables outside and some tables inside. Most people prefer sitting outside though. This is not a place to visit for ambience, but what's available is basic and clean.
They have one of the best tandoori chicken we have had in Pune. Places charging twice the money sometimes don't even have half the taste. Their gravy's are pretty standard and nothing to complain about, the chicken adraki is a favourite in that department. The staff is always quick and welcoming.
This place is always busy in the evenings and there can be waiting at peak times. Card payment is accepted.

Totally worth it ! The speciality of this restaurant is non veg food which undoubtly they serve the best. But they are little short of the place but nothing matters when they give you the hot lip smacking food. Also the quality and the quantity of the food is appropriate.
Had dinner here with my beau after a long and tiring day and also as just a stone throw from my nest. At first glance, u see the tandoor stand with half grilled chicken and sheekhs and people moving constantly. The place is always busy. Good food choices from Chinese to Indian to mughlai and fairly priced. Food quality and quantity is good. Recommendation is to have a biryani with sheekh kebab. Overall a decent experience.

We have had our dawats many a times here. And every time manchow soup and tandoori chicken are our first orders. Their soup is very very good. I have yet to find another one like them. Tandoori chicken is good but done in a bit hurry and so dry. Only once I ordered paneer tikka and was let down by it as it was not marinated properly and chunks were very big.
But non veg food is very good. More than value for money.
Owner, manager and staff are very courteous and hospitable. It always seems to be full but you get a place within minutes. And despite being full it is always peaceful.

Highly recommended for non vegetarian people. Its the best outlet for non veg food. I have tried their chicken tandoori,roti,chicken curry. Their portions are also satisfying. I would recommend this to people who are short on money and crave for quality food.

I am writing this review only as an appreciation for one particular dish.Their Tandoori Chicken Wings! They are the best I have had till date. They don't deliver, we have gotten it parceled numerous times for house parties. They make the perfect companion for alcohol! I believe there are barely any places where they put wings on a sheek and roast it in Tandoor. The meat is absolutely tender and taste is to die for! The biggest surprise is the price, Rs. 100 per plate and there are at least 10 pieces in it. Completely worth every penny!

You can't miss this place... really good tandoor menu with fresh spicy tandoori chicken and excellent sheekh. Garma-garam buttet rotis almost melt away in your mouth. Don't miss having a friendly chat with their manager, an old sweet talking muslim fellow, really friendly and courteous. Price is right on the money.. ;)

My place for comfort food, it is famous for its non-vegetarian dishes. The Tandoori Chicken is out of the world, they serve Pompfret Tandoor at a mere 200 bucks. In main course, my personal favourites are the Chicken Chilly and the Chicken Takatak. The ambience is absent altogether :p but the service is fast. The place to be for pure carnivores.

The brief review: Good Food and huge crowds.
Okay so now that I just mentioned the main idea I will begin with the entire review. Alright so we headed to Green Sampan at about 8:30 in the evening on Tuesday I surprisingly found a parking on that oh so very crowded jagtap chowk! As soon as we neared the restaurant I was stunned to see the crowd that was already there! It was buzzing with people and the servers shouting out at each other to get the order to the table. Luckily we found a place in the corner as it was only the 3 of us. I had a somewhat very Indian Chinese craving that you'd get in small restaurants that day so I went in for the usual chicken lollipops and ginger fried rice, we also ordered chicken tandoori leg as the tagndi kebab was not available, Chicken takatak(gravy) and 2 na'ans. The order arrived pretty soon and gotta say the lollipops were yum. They had a thin coating so I didn't feel cheated! Lol and the chicken was perfectly cooked and not to forget the food was HOT so be careful whatever you bite into! The tandoori chicken leg was also really good the marinade was to die for, it tasted different to the other tandoori chickens I have tasted. As soon as the starters were done the main course came in. The ginger rice was lovely I really loved the aroma of the ginger and the fried rice, it wasn't too dry or sticky it was perfect but mind you the shezwan sauce is on the spicy side. The chicken takatak was pretty decent too it was spicy too and I guess their speciality according to the server. The only drawback of this place is that it's overly crowded people just keep pouring in and also it's a feeling that you have to eat in the ultimate hurry as the servers keep hanging around trying to clear the table. Yes there was a crowd on Tuesday evening which was a weekday!
I really enjoyed the food, the bill was pretty okay 600/- for all this and oops the coca cola too! Will surely be visiting again!
this place is very easliy locatable in wanowrie, it is just ahead of the square after the loquor bar. it is always crowded but you will find a place easily as there is a lot of space to sit. although, sitting area is more on outside, it may be a trouble in monsoon. service is a little slow, but it gets compensated with the quality they serve. a perfect place for non-vegetarians. must try tandoori chicken and chicken tikka masala! it is a little high on spice but you can ask for less spicy too. I also had mutton Rogan josh, which was excellently cooked and the taste was fantabulous! I really love this place for non-veg and keep it on the list when I have some non-veg cravings.

Tandur items are best here but i think they use same gravy in every dish. Prices are not to high. Chiken takatak is good dish from there menu. Little crowded on weekends. Service is good and fast.

Wanowrie Restaurant. Good Tandoori and Chinese food at very reasonable rates. Hygiene is good. Their Butter Chicken is great. Ambience isn't really great becoz after all its a budget eatery. Only issue is 4 Wheeler parking isn't available. One can always parcel or order online if you don't want to dine in the place.
