I visited this place for my friend birthday treat. The restaurant is easy to locate on Satara highway just after the khed shivapur toll. The décor of this place is pretty simple and the place was neat and clean.

We tried sukka mutton, sukka chicken, gavran chicken sukka, chicken in kala masala. The sukka was good in taste but the chicken in kala masala has a watery gravy and didn’t impress me. The masala was not blended nicely.

My Experience: A good place to explore maharashtrian cuisine, Rates are reasonable and service was quick.

I visited this place along with my friends to celebrate a birthday Party. We tried Mutton Raan, Kadaknath Chicken Sukka and Kala Masala Chicken Handi. Everything was nicely done and the meat in all dishes was well cooked.

Total Bill for 5 people was 3000 with a 10% discount we paid Rs 2700 which was worth every penny.

Overall: Service was prompt and restaurant was hygienic. Staff was polite and attentive. A recommended place for people who want to try Maharashtrian non veg cuisine.

We accidentally discovered this place while traveling back to Mumbai. We have had the best chicken Thali. Authentic taste and chicken Sukha is a must try delicacy. Worth stopping here for dinner . Would definitely come back here. Good and polite staff.

The mutton raan was big,well marinated and nicely cooked,it was really delicious.
Kadaknath sukka is a black chicken the kadknath sukka was marinated in medium spicy masala,the taste was good and the chicken was well cooked
Chicken handi had a thin consistency gravy,the gravy was flavourful and the chicken was well cooked.

This place indeed deserves a good review. This restaurant serves really delicious mutton raan. It's tender mutton cooked with some amazing spices n skills :) KadakNath chicken Thali is another attraction of this place. This has become my dinner joint on B'lore highway while returning to Pune. Sometimes we need some change in daily food but what to eat that is the big question. One day decided to go to URUS with friends. We went inside the resto n ordered Veg n Non veg food. Then came to know that food is cooked on the traditional stove. The quality of food was awesome n tasty.

I would say best option to try different flavour food near Pune.

Location : 1 km from Khed Shivapur Toll Plaza towards Satara.

Best place for having nice maharashtrian mealwhile travel towards satara.

An dhaba type ambience very clean and hygienic with quality food is boon for frequent travelers like me.

We ordered mutton raan, kadaknath sukka, gharguti Chicken thali and mutton thali.

The raan an whole leg of lamb weighing 1.2 kg was marinated long hours and deep Tandoored to achieve perfect smoky Flavourful tender masaledar an heavy mouthwatering starter must have if big group.
Pre-ordering 24 hrs is advisable for this.

Kadaknath sukka. A chicken dish made using kadaknath ie black chicken. Its said to be beneficial for health. I have eaten it before and it was worth here too.
The thali are another star items of the place.
Bolhai meat is used here. The masala are prepared in house and are full of flavors.

Overall an excellent place for having good food.

!! Good Food Good Mood !!

It's true that if food is good then even if you're sad you'll be happy in no time. Urus restaurant which is located outside of Main Pune city offers some outstanding traditional delicacies. There are very few times I was satisfied till my foodie soul and the food hit my inner foodie and this experience was one of them. Traditional food is best to eat while it's warm and fresh and the experience which you get here is simply something which you will always remember.

As it's away from City area and hectic city life the delicious food adds up the satisfying feel which ensures your journey worth traveling. Urus restaurant is good as per the ambiance as they have wide open seating arrangement and on the back side, they have an open kitchen where they have a tandoor and some other things. You can check how it's made fresh in front you which gives you assured feeling that you're in good hands.

Let's get started then with what I had at my dinner -

✪ Mutton Raan

Mutton Raan - Well I was waiting for this dish so long to try as it's a slow-cooked dish which takes time. Tender meat with perfect marination tasted fantastic. The marination was so perfect that it really overshadowed tender meat. The flavors really exploded in our mouth. It was huge raan which really got finished in less than 2 minutes. I will definitely recommend this dish to every meat lover.

✪ Alni rassa - Alni rassa is nothing but a stock of meat which tastes superb. The intense original flavor of meat, while it cooks, comes in the stock which is slightly oily but satisfies you. Plus if you're trying it in cold weather then it's a treat to your stomach. The flavors were on point in soup and it really satisfied us.

✪ Kadaknath Chicken Starter - It was my first experience to try so talked kadaknath chicken which is high in nutrition and always recommended by everyone. My experience was fantastic. The dish was similar to Sukkha chicken where chicken chunks are tossed is semi-spicy onion gravy. The chicken was perfectly cooked but the masala which used in it won our heart. The distinctive taste of some spices in the masala was the main reason we loved it so much. The quantity was so huge that it was impossible for 6 of us to finish it. The chicken was a little bit different than the normal regular chicken but I personally loved it. #Highly Recommended

✪ Urus Special chicken thali - A normal thali which consists of chicken masala, chicken sukkha , kheema, tambda pandhra rassa , egg curry and accompanied with bhakri. Again the main element masala was superbly done that we just ate that masala without any bread. Kheema was nicely minced and it went well with bhakri. The chicken was perfectly cooked and complimented the curry very well. We loved everything in the thali and the bhakri was so fluffy and soft it just melted in our mouth.

✪ Urus Mutton thali - When you talk about mutton then 85% time the mutton wasn't cooked perfectly as it takes time and hard work to cook mutton to a certain level. Here the mutton was cooked to a perfect level that it really melted in our mouth. It had mutton sukkha, mutton kheema, rassa and accompanied with bhakri. The bhakri which made to perfection was the key point to our thali which went well with everything. The Indrayani rice was sticky and was perfect side dish to the curries which made us finish a 4-5 bowl of rice.

✪ Stuffed Leg piece - We had one more starter in our dinner which was beautifully made and had unique preparation method to it. It was a leg piece which was stuffed with dry fruits which gives you two types of flavor combination. It was accompanied by mint chutney which is I feel the best combination to go with it. The tender leg piece beautifully complimented the stuffing which gave a different taste.

Last but not the least it was a wonderful non-veg dinner where we did order some veg stuff which was to my surprise similarly best like other things. We enjoyed each and every veg stuff like we did non-veg.

Overall my experience was superb and it really satisfied my hungry soul. I was ready to sleep there only as it made us happy from inside. Having such good meal traveling almost 20 km from the city is really worth. I'll definitely recommend everyone to visit Urus at least once to try their specialty Kadaknath chicken and raan.

This was an unplanned visit to this place & trust me it was worth. We have ordered gavran chicken thali with bhakri and the taste was deliciously good.. Would like to visit again to try other dishes.. :)

हॉटेल उरूस, खेड शिवापूर टोलनाक्याजवळ.

माझं गाव इस्लामपूर. गावात हिंदू-मुस्लीम एकोप्याने गावची जत्रा म्हणजेच "उरूस" साजरा करतात. तर अशी ह्या शब्दाची आणि माझी ओळख जुनी ओळख.

खेड-शिवापूर टोलनाक्याजवळच उरूस नावाचं नवं हाटेल थाटलंय. नोव्हेंबरमध्ये सुरू झालेला हा उरूस अजून भरतोय, रंगतोय. रविवारी गावाहून पुण्याकडे येताना इथं जेवायला थांबलो. सोबत रखुमाई, आई-बाबा आणि लेकरू होतं. आईबाबांसोबत बाहेर जेवणे ही एक पर्वणी आहे. माझी आई अन्नपूर्णा आहे. आम्ही सोबत असलो तरी बाहेर जेवायची इच्छा फारशी होत नाही. माझ्या घरी तुमचा जेवायचा योग आला तर मी असं का बोलतोय ह्याचा तुम्हाला प्रत्यय येईलच.

भर दुपारी दीड वाजता उरूसला गाडी थांबवली. येण्यापूर्वी फोन करून जेवण मिळेल ना ह्याची खात्री करून घेतली होती मी. मला घरगुती चिकन थाळी मागवली. बाकीच्यांना झुणका-भाकरी आणि भरली वांगी घेतली. शाकाहारी जेवणातील तेल-तिखट लक्षपूर्वक प्रमाणात ठेवायला सांगितलं होतं. माझ्या थाळीबाबत मी कोणत्याच सूचना दिल्या नाहीत. सुरुवातीला मला आळणी आणि इतरांना सोलकढी दिली गेली. यथावकाश एकेक पदार्थ आले आणि पानं वाढली. अखेरीस घरगुती चिकन थाळीचं आगमन झालं. माझी भरगच्च थाळी बघून पोरीने लगेच भुवया उडवल्या. एखादी जादू बघितल्यावर चकीत व्हावं तसे भाव तोंडावर आणत तिने "बाबा" अशी खट्याळ हाक मारली. अगदी बापावर गेलीये या बाबतीत. इकडे मी पटापट फोटो काढून जेवायला सुरुवात केली. ताटात खिमा वाटी असेल तर मी त्या हॉटेलला विशेष गुण देतो. शाकाहारी पदार्थांची चव बघितली. सगळं चांगलं होतं. सुटकेचा निश्वास सोडला. म्हणजे आता मला निवांतपणे ताव मारता येणार होता. ताटात दोन कांदेफोडी घेऊन जेवायला सुरुवात केली.

आळणीची वाटी एका दमात संपवली. अजून थोडं तिखट सहज खपलं असतं असं जाणवलं.

भाकरीच्या छोट्याशा तुकड्याने खिमा बघितला खाऊन. चव आवडली. खिमा वाटी वर मला अनाठायी वाटणारा एक सेंटीमिटरचा तवंग नव्हता. असा तवंग बघून चव चांगली असली तरीही मी खाण्याचा विचार सोडतो. बरं वाटलं बघून. खिमा खायला पुन्हा इथे यायलाच लागतंय असं वाटलं.

भाकरी छान होती. गरमागरम आणि खरपूस भाजलेली. अशी गरम आणि ताटभर भाकरी बघितली की "पैसे फिटले" असा फील येतो मला.

सोलकढीची चव नेहमीपेक्षा वेगळी आणि चांगली लागली. मला अतिशय आवडणारा ठसका नव्हता. गोडसर चव पण नव्हती. अगोड चवीची ही मनापासून आवडली. उन्हातून आलेल्याला अशी थंड सोलकढी अमृतच वाटणार.

पांढरा रस्सा चवीला पटला नाही. मसाला वाटण अजून लावले असते तर मजा आली असती असं वाटून गेलं.

अंडा करी आणि माझं छान जमलं. जेमतेम अर्ध अंडे बसेल अशी वाटी आणि अंडे बुडेल इतपत करी. चव अतिशय सुंदर. करी तर मी बिना भाकरीची खाल्ली.

तांबडा रस्सा आवडला. पण इतर पदार्थ जास्त असल्याने नीट न्याय देता आला नाही.

आता नंबर लागला इतका वेळ गप्प बसलेल्या लेग पीसचा. एकतर थाळीमध्ये इतका सणसणीत लेगपीस दिलेला मी बघितलाच नव्हता ह्यापूर्वी. डेक्कनला कु-कूच-कु बोरावके इथे तंगडी कबाब आठवले लेग पीस बघून. छान मसाल्यात झकास मुरलेला लेगपीस एकदम लुसलुशीत. अफलातून ! मसाला सौम्य. अजून थोडं तिखट सहज चाललं असतं मला.

चिकन करीचं तसंच. निर्विवादपणे चिकन छान शिजलेलं. तिखटपणा नाही. हे मी जास्त तिखट खातो म्हणून नाही तर एकंदरीत तिखटपणा अजून हवाय ह्या अर्थानं म्हणतोय.

इंद्रायणी भाताची ताटली आणि खिमा वाटीचा संगम अगदी स्वर्गीयच ! असं वाटलं की पुढच्या वेळी आलो की फक्त खिमा न भात मागवू. मांसाहारी थाळीतला भात मी अजिबात कुरकुर न करता खातो. ते शहाजहानने म्हणे ताजमहालच्या जबरी इंजिनिअर-मिस्त्री लोकांना "ठाकूर" केलं होतं ना तसं इथल्या आचारी लोकांचं करावं की काय असा विचित्र डेंजर विचार मनात येऊन गेला. छे-छे ! थोडक्यात : असा खिमा होणे नाही.

ताटवाट्या अगदी चाटूनपुसून साफ आणि समाधानाची ढेकर. जेवणाबद्दलचं मत मालकांनी विचारल्यावर सत्वर सांगण्यात आले. उरुसाच जरा बस्तान बसलं की पुन्हा नक्की जाणार. तीन महिने झालेत उरुसला.

जाताजाता :

ताटात बरेच पदार्थ असणे म्हणजे हॉटेलसाठी "सेफ डील" असते माझ्यामते. हाटेलच्या विविधगुणदर्शनाला मिळालेली ती एक संधी असते. कोणाला काय आवडेल नेम नाही. उदा. कोकण कोल्हापुरी, थरमॅक्स चौक इथं मी फक्त सोलकढी प्यायला पण जातो.

अर्थात प्रत्येक हाटेलचं आपापलं अर्थशास्त्र असतंच आणि थाळीचा विस्तार त्यातूनच ठरवायचा असतो. पण अशा छोट्या छोट्या वाट्या त्या हॉटेलचं क्रॉस-सेलिंग वाढवतात हे माझं मत. उदा. चिकन बिर्याणीसोबत गुलाबजाम-जिलेबी मी उभ्या आयुष्यात खाल्ली नव्हती. पण बेहरुज किंवा बिग_बाईट_बिर्याणी यांनी ती सवय लावली. त्यातूनच त्यांचं स्वतःचा असा एक चाहत्यांचा गट बनला. कोअर प्रॉडक्ट्स सेट होत असतानाच नॉन-कोअर प्रोडक्ट बाळसं धरू लागले तर कमाल होईल ना ? काय माहीत, कदाचित त्यांनाच आपण काही दिवसांनी गोडधोडाच्या ऑर्डरी देऊ! ☺️

Cozy atmosphere with tasty food. For people who love non-veg food this place is a good option for them. Vegetarian food is also tasty and a decent option available. Coming to service, it's good and appreciable. Overall good for family and friends whoever wants a quick bite or small party. Maharashtrian food is a speciality of this restaurant.

The food is very tasty and service is quick.The main course was mutton fry and rassa with bhakari Also very good. We finished the meal with sticky white rice which was delicious.
