This famous misal joint from Chinchwad has made its way to Pune City. It's conveniently located at Nal Stop. The misal here is known to be one of the spiciest in PCMC. The misal here is tasty and spicy. The misal felt like there was jaggery added, probably for the pune folks. But it could have been spicy. We even had buttermilk. The buttermilk was tasty.
Well misal being favourite food mine, this misal does a great job in satisfying your tastebuds. It gives a spicy taste to begin with and end up with kind of mild sweet flavour to it, which is good. Must try for all misal lovers

The misal we had was with its unique taste , of sweet & spicy both .
The ingredients with basic sprouts to the mixture of poha , mix sev , fine chopped onion & coriander .
The curry made is the main point here with proper spicy level , as the taste is managed with the sweetness of poha first and the hit of spice at the last which makes it diffrent and tasty 😋 .
The bhaji's made up of potatoes are also served , with good taste and crispy bhajiyas served with chutney .

Frankly we 1st were going for the overrated katakirr misal ..... But seriously I went here and the staff actually cares how u want your misal .... Strong medium light spicy ..... And they actually serve u that way just perfect .... #feels of course the misal n solkadi was just supreme ... And ofc it's pocket friendly place ....

their rassa has a good depth and is really well balanced! the oil has a really good spicy hit which makes u sweat! this is surely a great place for all the spicy misal lovers out there! A great place to have a breakfast/brunch.
I visited this outlet last week. Decent amount of sprouts and good quality of farsan was used, however the masala in rassa/sample was not properly blended and didn’t suit my tastebud. Rassa was not boiled properly. The pav served was fresh. I will not compare the taste of this Misal with the chinchwad outlet and might visit this outlet again to check the consistency.

Newale Misal is not a new place for Punekars, as it was one of the popular street food joints, in Chinchwad. Recently we had a new place alert through one PEO friend , about their hoarding as they were starting a new joint near Nal Stop , next building to Kalyan Jewellers
So I landed on Monday breakfast and what more is the best motivation to start a week than having Misal Pav from this very famous joint?
A delicious and spicy misal, Newale is famous to have the spiciest misal in the city.
However the Misal that I had today in this place, cannot be claimed as the spiciest, It was totally manageable spicy and to me it was a very authentic taste and enjoyed every bite of it. The place is small, the service was good. Its pocket friendly and a must visit. This was totally satisfactory as I could manage eating couple of pav along with the Misal..

Misal being the most loved dish in the city, there is a misal joint on almost every street of the city. And to beat this competition you need to have something special in your misal. And Nevale misal has just the right thing which makes its fans go gaga over it- spiceness. This is the second branch of nevale misal. The first one being in pimpri-chinchwad. I had heard a lot of things about this misal and how it is spicy to a crazy level. Being a long way from home, I wasn't able to visit their first outlet. But as soon as I heard about their new outlet in erandwane, I couldn't help myself. To be frank, I have a really moderate level of tolerance for spiceness and I wasn't really expecting that I would like this misal. I went to this place just out of sheer curiosity. This outlet of nevale misal is located near nal stop, on karve road, in erandwane. Not much difficult to locate. Roadside parking available. The one thing you can count on a puneri misal joint to have is- low ambience. The ambience is next to nothing. Just a room with few tables. I visited this place with my friend on a weekday, tuesday at around 5:30 pm. We were the last customers. The place was empty owing to the odd time of our visit. When my friend enquired about their spicy version, the waiter suggested us to take the medium spicy version and I am really glad that we listened to him. So we ordered misal pav along with kokum sarbat. The rassa/sample was real beauty. It was dark brown and spicy. And the best thing about it was, that the spiceness did not hamper or overpower it's taste even a little bit. The misal had sprouts, lots of onions and poha with farsan and shev. Potatoes were lacking. The inclusion of poha really lifted the taste and balanced the spiceness of the misal. It was really good. I could barely handle the spiceness and cooled my tastebuds with kokum sarbat. Kokum sarbat was tasty as well. Talking about the service, it was really fast. The staff although a bit informal was really polite and friendly. The quality as well as quanitity of food was great. The prices are satisfactory. Really liked this place. Will visit again. Must visit place for spicy food lovers.

Tried their missal in the medium flavour (not a fan of spicy items) , yet the medium missal tasted very much spicy. But it is really great as first you will feel the slight touch of sweetness and then the spices get to your taste buds.

I just have one word for their misal, 'zhanzhaneet!' that means super spicy. The taste of this misal is really out of this world. I am a big fan of this place. The misal is finger licking good.
Must visit place for hot and spicy misal. They serve misal in a plate half filled with pohe, farsan and chopped onions and half with typical rassa. They provide two types of rassas- medium and spicy. If you love spicy food then try their spicy rassa.
Recently i visited second time to this Pune based misal. In reality i am big lover of Nevale misal, Chinchwad. I never ever got the kick which i got after eating it. So i had made fix opinion that none can match to this misal.
But i was wrong. Nevale misal , pune has ditto taste. In addition it has excellent seating , if compared to chinchwad nevale, this seating and ambience is five star. No meat shop beside, so for pure veg lovers you will enjoy pune nevale more than chinchwad nevale.

We had gone here today for a late breakfast at 11.00am
The restaurant is clean and tidy. Because we were late there was no one else there except us.
I ordered one misal and one solkadi.
Misal was made in Kala masala with matki in it. Too much masala and less tarri/kat/rassa. Maybe because we were late we got the last remaining stock, but I was not impressed by the taste.
Solkadi is good for its price.
Service is great. Staff is friendly. Definitely Pocket friendly.
Sadly it is a one time go restaurant for me.. :(
One of the best places to enjoy misal pav. Ambience is good and place is kept very clean. They served us one medium n one spicy sample with the misal which was hot. Misal was very spicy n mouth watering. It had a very unique spicy yet a sweet punch to it. Courteous staff n great service. Recommended to every misal lover to try it atleast once.

If you love spiciness, go try this missal ASAP. Spicy as well as Tasty and delicious. Misal is really good. Quantity and quality is great.
Misal served like with pohe, farsan, shev, chopped Onion and some coriander. And after that the fire comes.. Piping hot Spicy Sample(tarri, rassa). And they serve pao(kind of bread) instead of bread slice.
That's all to say about this great misal...
Its addiction, spicy misal always make me high. Punekar must try this missal....
If spiciness hits you, don't worry, chilled solkadhi will save your life.. Solkadhi was also delicious just for 20/-. And missal just for 60/-. So its Pocket friendly too.
Place is clean and hygiene. But pretty small. 15-16 people can be served at a time.
They put a board of batata bhaji but each n every time bhaji wasn't available. I don't know why... LOL

I landed there around 10:30 AM on Sunday, and it was pretty occupied. Very much hygienic and fresh ambience welcomed us with aroma of Misal Rassa.
Ordered Misal with maximum Kat (tarri) and less paatal bhaji (Rassa).
First bite itself made me sweating and I ran for glass of water. This is what I call as initial turbulence before flying high with this Misal.
But second bite onwards it gave me so much fun and crave to eat more of this. I knew it was very much spicey but still fun to eat.
Rassa was absolutely flavorful and tasty. Paav, farsan, papadi and gathi she everything was fresh and crunchy.
They served paatal bhaji as many times as I want.
I would say this can be considered as one of the best Misal in karve road - Kothrud area.
*****Due to my demand of Kat it became spicey. But if you are not much used to it, go for only paatal bhaji version. It will definitely suit your taste buds.*****

Had chance to visit the newly started Nevale misal karve road branch. Yes the same legendary Nevale from Chinchvad. Being Sunday morning there was little rush and wait time. But its proved all worthy. Firstly they served bowl with mix of Poha and farsan, and another katori of onion and lemon, and finally they pour the heavenly misal tarri. With initial bytes you may find slightly sweet but as you start eating it the spices gets firmly registered in your brain and soul. They also serve solkadhi, buttermilk and kokam sarbat, either of which you must have to cool off. I found this misal a notch superior than kata kirr which is also located in near vicinity. Half point deducted for the service, which was slow. The staff seems new and untrained but no complaints for the misal. Will surely visit again.
I don't know if everybody will like it but I loved it. Heard alott form my chinchwad buddies so gave it a try. Service is bit slow but worth it.
It was a sudden plan and a big craving for misal which made me come to this place .
i always heard about nevale misal being serving some spicy misal but never tried it.
so as this place is now open in erandwane i choose to go to this place .
their serving style is very different firstly they put farsan and onions and later on they bring the rassa .
you have to mix them and then dig in the flavours of this misal.
as soon as i took a bite there was a blast of flavours in my mouth.
their misal is super tasty and super spicy . really loved it .
if you are spicy misal lover then yes this is the place for you which you should you definitely try.
I'm from chinchwad so i know the spice factor. Of Newale but as per location and ambience the one which is opened in kothrud is amazing.

Had heard for quite some time about this haven of spicy misal. But had never been there as Chinchwad was far from my place. Thanks to Karve road branch for solving this problem.
They use Poha as a base. Tarri is not just spicy but tasty & spicy. It gives a bit of sweet tinge at the end making it good to handle. They give ample onion along with the Misal. Buttermilk was quite soothing ;)
Give it a try to get your bowels cleaned the next morning (or same day :D )

It could've been 5/5 but there are some reasons I gave 0.5 less. It was rumoured that legendary Newale misal has opened it's new branch in Kothrud area which was a shocker for me. Never thought newale will come near my home. I didn't go on the first day of their launch as I thought it will be flooded with people but after that, I've visited this branch at least for 5-6 times. It's been just 2-3 weeks that newale have opened up and finally, they've managed to get the real taste of the original branch.
Main point - There are lots of stories and rumours that this isn't the branch of the original newale and my friend have confirmed the same also but as I'm foodie I'm concerned about the food I don't want to get into their personal matters. All I care about the misal.
About Ambiance - It's simple like the original one. Small one room for easting which is cosy but can manage at least 16-20 people at a time. A clean, neat, tidy and hygienic place which is a plus point.
Misal - Misal which is served here was kind of same when I tried the first time. The original one is zanzanit spicy with dark reddish in colour with little bit of sweet aftertaste because of farsan. The basic plating is same where you get farsan , chopped onions , chopped coriander leaves and other stuff. Then they pour that spicy heavenly delicious red tarri into your plate. When I frist tried the tarri was less spicy but had the basic taste of newale misal which I tried at the original one. I thought they've kept it medium spicy because of the area which they've opened the branch. The kothrudkar's are not into extra spicy misal. The colour of tarri was also kind of faint red which clearly differs it from the original one. This happened to me at least for next 3-4 visits. Then recently in last week, I went again and what I saw was shocking the tarri which they gave me was same as of the original one. The dark red gravy with the zanzanit spicy taste which literally gives you tears in your eyes and you feel the heat in your nose. I was super happy that for now, I don't have to travel all the way to chinchwad from kothrud to relish on this legendary misal.
Hunry soul's verdict - If you're visiting on weekends make sure you go before 9 am as it gets crowded after that. On weekdays it's not that full so any time will be good. Enjoy the misal and if you're trying for first time please carry a napkin as it's a must.
Newale Misal - The misal is not just spicy water. It's a spicy misal with sweet aftertaste because of farsan and it tastes superb, It gives you a ride to the spicy heaven which is worth visiting.
This best misal house nearby nal stop which better than katakirrr.You can get here spicy and medium spicy type of misal.their batata bhaji also too good.but seating arrangements is so congested.Parking facility is not available for cars.

The misal was not ready even at 9:15 am. We had to wait 10-15 min. No change in taste compared with 2 months ago. Again recommend for those who don't ear spicy/hot (तिखट) try regular one first. Quantity may seem less at first sight, but it's enough to have proper breakfast. They also have buttermilk (ताक), सोलकढी, कोकम सरबत.

I always visit here whenever I want to taste a spicy misal and good salted buttermilk. Very clean place. You can order medium spicy misal if you do not life more spicy food. The taste of misal is awesome and buttermilk is also good for taste but costly rs 10 than market.
This misal house is 3 generations old. Their misal is extremely spicy and tasty. I have been there quite a few time and I like their taste very much. Their main branch is in Chinchwad. They serve Matki misal. Taste of the rassa is mind-blowing. If you don't like tikhat misal then no point in visiting. If you like tikhat misal then this is the place where you should hop in immediately.
Have tried lots of Missal not only in Pune but all around Maharashtra. This one is different, the base was aloo sabzi and some sprouts so it was a new thing for me. I didn't get the place as its themed to an old restaurant in Puneri style. Food was awesome, we even tried the masala taak it was good but not that great. I would like to asked every Punekar to try different Missal than Katakir. They were great but then not right now.

Well it was spicy food for me. But those who love too spicy misal pav do visit this place, this place is a bit of small in space.
Whichever brach I have visited till now, Newale has always proved why it is the best Misal in Pune.
