Been to this place on a friend's birthday for lunch. It's a small and cute place. The nachos were great. Expected a little something out of the deep dish pizza but it was extremely small in size. Otherwise the rest of the food was good too.
A good place to have chit chat over drinks. They have outside seatings also as it is less spacious inside. Ambiance is good. Still, worth try restaurant in baner.
I really liked their food, little different, they have few fusion dishes which were nice. Ambience is okay not very great but not bad either. It's good place for a chill evening.

This place serves the best chicken peri peri in town(people preferring spicy and yummy)
1) chicken peri peri- something incredible when it comes to taste, authentic herbs may pop your taste buds🤩. It is must try with Coriander,mint and chilly chutney. It was a highway to the heart

It contains all the basic and authentic herbs we use in Mughal cuisine.. It's been long, searching for such taste 😁must appreciated..
The best part was the Tom and Jerry flashing over the screen,great way to spend time till the order is up.

I am very pleased with the service and the quality of food is very good. I recommend this place to all my friends. They have a wide variety of menu. Its not like the usual menu in all the Indian restaurants.
Such lovely and a lively place for dinner. I love their ambiance, the vibrant live performances just pulls you out of your normal life. Tried their bhakarwadj chat which was something different and ideal for bhakarwadi lovers. They have a unique spread like vangi/masala Bhaat combo which we enjoyed. Over all a good experience except the service is very slow and the staff needs to be more attentive. Value for money - I feel the quantity is low as compared the price. But still a place worth to try.
Chicken wings were delicious. One of the best I've had in Pune. Paneer Butter masala was good. What I really liked was they had Chapatis unlike most places that only have Roti and Naan. The ambience was good. Being a weekday there was no rush.
A good place on the Balewadi High Street to have drinks and bar food. The ambience is average. They have an outdoor seating available too. We went on a Saturday night and there were a few people performing live. The food is quite good. Value for money.

This salad had tomato, cucumber , sweet corn and some cabbage tossed in chaat masala , nothing special about it ! Just was in the mood to had salad and so I did .

Well this had a very delicious crunchy patty with soft bun . Absolutely loved how it tasted so healthy.
Ba k with another review, my luck with good food and service continues 😀. Let's start with the service this time, Gyan Khatri, the young kid from Nepal, well versed with the menu, including the cocktails. You would feel he owns the place from the pride he reflects. Kudos to Poona Canteen management for hiring and retaining such an excellent staff member.
Now the food, guys, when you come here, try the bhakarwadi chaat without fail, brilliant! The other dishes we had were the mascrapone Malai chicken, bhareli tangdi, spinach Mac and cheese, the really fantastic khow suey prawn biryani. Each dish was yummy.

On the surface, it looks just like your casual hangout bar but it has a lot of thought & work put into it. The interiors are done subtly yet tastefully. They even have outdoor seating if you wish to opt for that.The servers were polite & knew what they were doing. The food was tasty although we had to wait quite some time for ours. But that's just nitpicking. Overall would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to have fun yet have their own privacy & a low-key evening of sorts. Will definitely visit again!

Well this is a late review of this amazing place named The Poona Canteen. I have been to this place like 5 times in the past 2 months n not even once has this place disappointed on any of the parameters I.e food, drinks, service.
As I m a beer lover, so I had draught bira white most of times...n when it comes to food I have tried the below items...although I don’t have pic of everything I ate (sorry for that)
1. Kanda bhajji - perfectly crisp, tasty n not too oily, this is undoubtedly the best chakna that goes with beer, rum or whiskey #musttry
2. Bhakarwadi chaat - this is again a good n different combination of starter...it has bhakarwadi with some chutney n those little namkeen on top of it gives it a lovely n tangy taste. #highlyrecommended
3. Sev bhaaji bunny bombs - so here it’s the regular pav loaded with spicy sev bhaaji n top of it is cheese...tastes super yummy
This place has nice graffiti made on the walls in the outside sitting area which is kinda cool
A perfect place to sit n do chit chat with friends over a couple of glasses of drink with some good n tasty food.

The ponna canteen is a small place but it has amazing amazing food. Plus the service and the ambience is good too. The rates here are moderate.
The ambience is really good and loved the interior. I enjoyed the light music and good food. Specially loved the dish 'chicken wings with naga chilly sauce' its spicy and tasty.
The place has good vibes, good music, good ambience and the most important of all, good service! The staff here is very friendly and accommodating and the service is quick as well. This place is pocket-friendly and the food is good too. Do try to Spagetthi Bologonese and the Paneer schezwan here...

In search if new places which offer Zomato Gold, we stumbled upon this gem. We visited this on a Saturday afternoon. This place was empty and gave a vibe that it would be a fun place in the evening.
Their menu is quite impressive and intriguing. One will go through the entire menu to see what they have to offer, because they have a quirky take on typical maharashtrian/puneri dishes.
So finally, we started with bakarwadi Chaat( like we could resist anything with this puneri staple), then some Bharleli Tangdi and South African Chicken Tikka. All the appetizers were super delicious.
They did not have a mains dish which we were hoping to order so we had to settle for something else. It was Smoked Paprika Stroganhoff and Chicken overload pizza. The Stroganhoff was mild tasting and pizza was smaller than expected.
We ended the meal with some lip smakin dark choclate mousse and a big smile on our face.
They do not have desserts included in Zomato Gold offer, which they don't explicitly tell you before hand.
But, a stellar place to have good food :)

It's located in the Heart of Baner on the way to Balewadi high Street....
Mr Rohit was kind enough in settling this off.
So we had booked a complete package of unlimited drinks and food.
As it was on Saturday, we were offered live band performance by Desi Quarters.
I had thought this band would not work for a party , but it rocked......it was simply awesome and the crowd loved it.
Food was delicious and tuned as required.
Service was overall Good...

The Cheesy Vada Pav is a "cheesy" take on the much loved local vada pav. The vada is stuffed with goeey cheese. Be careful with the first bite as they come steaming hot. The graffiti on the wall is pretty attractive, representing the local banter. Ambience is good. One can enjoy watching live matches with a group of friends or family!
This place caught our attention as the name itself is catchy. Plus we were having zomato gold offer available on food here which infact did work well for us. Place is somewhat shady but what I most like is their menu which is hatke. Some of the items on their menu, you could probably never find anywhere else. Like bakarwadi chat which was mouthwatering. Overall good experience.
To start with I wished this place was a little bigger in area than it is. It somewhat turns out to be a cafe where you expect it to be a place to dine in. So we had Fauzi style mutton curry and tandoori roti , it says the curry has alcohol in it but frankly couldn't feel any. The dish tasted authentic with a lot of spices and flavour. Would definitely come back to this place . Also thanks to eatigo, got 50% off.
The service, food and ambience of this place are all great. We ordered fish fingers, puneri nachos and chicken strips. Both the chicken strips and fish fingers were excellent. Mildly spiced and brimming w the flavour of fish and chicken. The puneri nachos were not for me, I couldn't really stand the smell of Kadi patta but for most people it should be an interesting experimentative flavour
This place was hardly crowded even on a Friday evening, despite good food and ambience, which we found a bit sad.

Small setup ; indoors n outdoors , live music playing by a duo ; good vocals ; can sit outside n still c n hear it : menu is with twists :- had a drink ,guava pepper with a flash of whisky - leaves a real spicy aftertaste and had the bhakerwadi mish mash - basically bhakarwadi with all the ingredients of a sev puri ; experimental stuff .
Went here on a Sunday night. The place is a comfortable place and not a party place. Its perfect for sitting with friends , chilling over booze.
Their menu is affordably designed.
Food options are a bit limited.
*I tried their tandoori chicken momos—fine.
*Next, I had a chicken tikka— it was also nicely done.
*Then for main course, I had their chicken biryani—which was surprisingly quite delicious.
*And 3 cheese pasta—which sadly was very disappointing.

One of the best places in Baner and 'the' best for experimental Poona food. There's something new to discover in every dish here! The ambiance is great with quirky frames! My favourite is Bakarwadi Chaat, The Thalipeeth, and Fish Curry Rice. A must try is Black Label Spiked Dark Chocolate Mousse. Must must try. Highly recommended this to everyone!

The Poona Canteen - It has been on my list since a very long time. Recently I saw their post on Instagram for a live performance with a talented band and decided it's a good day to try it out.
So, we headed for TPC and it was quite empty. Well, do not get the illusion that it's unknown or something. I like visiting during late afternoon which is often uncrowded everywhere. I just prefer it like that. The decor is good. Not too shabby. Perky. Funky. Good use of space. I loved the interior furnitures.
I prefer trying out the appetizers and starters than the main course. The consistency in starters menu is often harder to maintain. So I began with Chicken Breadpakora. To start off, it's a great snack to munch side of Beck's Beers. The beer is extraordinary when it comes to taste. Thank God they entered India. The Break Pakoras was nicely done. The chicken filler was good although a bit less but almost perfect. What I didn't like was... The Sauce Garnishing. It's not that I hate ketchup but for those who don't like it, it should be optional. They could have served it on the side and whipped up a nice Saunth-Pudina Chutney to go with the crispy fresh Bread Pakoras.
Next was South African Paneer Tikka. I ordered "Black Label Mastani". This is heaven. One thing you have to visit TPC for is their Black Label Mastani. The freak shake is loaded with dark chocolate and the smoothness of Black Label. It's a different kind of taste symphony. The paneer was okay. I didn't quite understand the reference to South Africa but it wasn't bad. I'd suggest you to try out the chicken version in this. I have a feeling it would be better than the paneer.
We had a kid amongst us and she demanded a pasta. The white sauce pasta was good. The bread was nice and crispy. The garlic and butter flavour in the pasta was overwhelming. Great if you have it hot. Do not cool it and have. I'd have loved some grilled mushrooms in that but this was decent too.
Overall, the things I loved the most were the Bread Pakoras and the Black Label Mastani. Instant hit with my taste buds. The live band added to my day. The service was great. The waiters are pretty well behaved and mannered. A fly had crept into our bottle and they immediately replaced it without fuss. So, great place to spend and chill.
Love this place for it's karaoke nights! The service and hospitality here is great. They can add more food options over time. Have tried the chicken stroganoff and the kebabs here. Kebabs were tad bit too salty, stroganoff was perfect. Will keep visiting this place for all the amazing events it hosts.

While Fusion Food is becoming a rage in India ,Pune is leading from the front . Last 2-3 years saw International influences and ingredients mixed with Indian Flavors and is becoming a big draw for food lovers. Restaurateurs are going back to the roots and coming up with fresh experiments. Although there are culinary borrowings from other cultures the primary inspiration is Indian Food .However the local Pune food or the food popular in Pune is still finding it hard to make it to menu of many fusion food restaurants. There are only a handful of restaurants which have been experimenting on the local food and Poona Canteen House at Baner Biz Bay is one of them. Of course it serves dishes from all over also.
I've seen the place in the passing. Haven't had the time to stop by. And on this Monday when everyone is beavering back to work, I decided to give this place a try. And I wasn't disappointed. We settled for the usual beers and chicken 65 andhra style. This is the closest I've had something that tastes LIKE Andhra food. Trust me, my search for the evasive Haleem and Hyderabadi biryani is still on after a decade in Pune. That quite makes another story, but coming back to Poona Canteen. Apart from the starter we ordered for fauji chicken spiked with a dash of rum and rotis. If you are from the Army background and have eaten a bada khana you'll know the taste I'm referring to. That was wrapped up with a dark chocolate mousse with some black label. And Pankaj Kumar, who was serving us is someone you should ask for because h is one of the most cheerful guys around. Don't give this place a miss! I

Love the food here! Definitely unique, many of the dishes are a modern take on traditional Maharashtrian dishes. Quantity and quality of food is great! Service is also good. The music can be too loud sometimes though and it's difficult to even hear what the people at your own table are saying. We tried their takes on shev bhaji and pav, their mezze platter, nachos, chicken tandoori. All the dishes taste really good!
A good pocket friendly place to have fine dine. The courteous staff, services,and finger licking food will surely make visit this place again.

Beautiful Lazy weather on a Saturday evening and we decided to walk down to Poona Canteen for a quick dinner!
But fate had surprises in store for us. At arrival we were offered a choice of outdoor seating or indoor with the live band. With a kid, the outdoor was not an option since it was a smoking zone. And what a blessing it turned out to be.
We quickly placed our order and as if right on cue the "Desi Quarter" took to the stage and started belting out some super numbers.. great performance.. we loved it so much.. from a quick dinner plan we stayed on for close to 2 hours!
Now for the food and drinks we ordered:
Dirty Nariyal Paani - Vodka based cocktail that kick started my dinner and hit all the right spots... Most recommended
Aai Mai Tai - A regular Mai Tai as it shud be.
The cocktails weren't as potent bas I hoped they would be, but the taste was spot on!
3 cheese margarita pizza 🍕 was the most yummiliciius piece of cheese heaven I have had in a while - Highly recommended
Sai bhajji - crisp bhajji but fairly average in taste for me. Though my daughter liked it.. so no complaints here
Fauji style chicken - this was the Super Star of the evening. One bite and I was blown away. I absolutely ignored my better half as well as my kiddo (this itself is a statement) and gorged on this manna from heaven. Requested to speak to Deepak Kelkar who worked his magic on the chicken.. humble fellow who seemed surprised that customers even request to talk to the chef to convey their appreciation. Thanks Deepak for making my evening! I will be back for more Fauji Chicken!

The best place to go eat puneri food. They also have a bar. But the food there is super good. Must try the mushroom khari. They usually have offers on drinks which is pretty reasonable and attractive. Also every Friday or Saturday the usually have a live band performance. Better to call and ask for the band and reservation is recommended before visiting!

Delicious Food, Variety of different drinks , Specially Black Label Mastaani, the concept & theme of the restaurant is nice accordingly to typical Pune theme. The live shows were also performed periodically by different artists. Like stand-up comedy shows ,jamming sessions, if you want to enjoy some drinks and delicious foods with friends and if you are going for a date this restaurant is for you.
