Only once have been here. Good place to try when you dont want to have any fast food, etc.
The place is good and gives affordable options. The food taste is good and the service is quick. There is ample space to park and sit too. Would recommend this place.
It's a great place. Superb food. The masala Dosa is the must try. The ambience is great. The service is also good. Surely, everyone should try this place.
Good place to eat all varieties of food are available ......
Taste is good
Staff is friendly
Service is also good
Price is moderate
Overall good place to visit
Combos r good
Good place right next to the highway. Clean washrooms and courteous staff. Tad expensive as with most highway eatouts. Nothing special to talk about the food, had chai and pakodas and they lives up to my expectations :)
It's good place to eat, all varieties of food are available here. Taste is good, moderately priced and staff behaviour also good. Overall It's nice restaurant.
We found this place in a mid way to Lonavala , good for snacks not for lunch people who prefer only thali can go they have biryani chole bature and south Indian food
Kamat is known for serving great food on highways and that's why, I usually prefer visiting one of its outlets any time I'm on the road since I've never been disappointed with the quality in years.
Recently, happen to visit this outlet located on the highway and quite easy to find. We tried out their Vada which was just as good and served with great chutneys as I've had at other outlets. The dish was served warm with the vada being very soft and fried to perfection. You should definitely try this if you happen to visit Kamat. We also tried their Mysore Masala Dosa that was again quite good. Though the sambar was a bit sweet, I really did like the chutney that was just the right amount of spicy. Another plus point was the place was quite clean and hygienic.
Though self service was mentioned, the staff was quite hospitable and on handing over the token, we were asked to sit and food was served within minutes!
Highly recommended!
Food quality is avarage...I tried for breakfast but don't feel satisfactory...only Kamat brand name is running...U guys improve more....only positive point is service is very fast
Very nice place, all food items are quite good quality wise and taste wise.but best is vitthal vada 5*,staff is also very soft spoken and place is also very neat and clean.nice place to visit with family
Visted this place on the way back to Mumbai. Misal paav was good. Deluxe thali was also nice and the quantity was good enough for one person. Service is very quick, we didn't have to wait at all. I also had strawberry milkshake from a place inside the hotel. It was just awesome!
Went there for a quick lunch.
We're two of us and chose this place over subway which is located just in front of this outlet.
Ordered Masala dosa and rawa masala dosa and buttermilk and filter coffee.
Masala dosa was good as usual.
Buttermilk was refreshing and fresh
Rawa masala dosa wasn't up to the mark and was soggy and not at all crisp which it should have have been
Filter coffee wasn't authentic , too sweet and less coffee , more water.
Though the price is quite decent
The following will be the exact rating from my side
Quality 3/5
Service 4/5
Cleanliness 4/5
Value for money 4/5
Overall 3.5/5
Still better than other places in the vicinity.
Vithal Kamat is my favourite place for their Lassi. It has an amazing Shrikhand Taste. Food is good but only veg. They have standard menu so frequent visitors can find it boring.
I would say this is the best Kamat Outlet I have visited till date. Clean washrooms, ample parking space, friendly staff. This is the best stopover for people travelling to Mumbai. Food quality is excellent. If you are here at tea time, try the Veg. Cheese grill sandwich.
Went here on the way back from a lazy weekend getaway near Khadakvasla. It's big and like any Kamat, the 'decor' is basic and necessary rather than aesthetic. As for the food, the dosas were crisp and nice. The sambhar was cloyingly sweet and tasted a tad funny. The coconut chutney was great. They have an interesting way of serving batata wadas. It's served with a sweet vinegar sauce, sweet yogurt onion dip, regular chutney and of course the red chutney. The wadas are flat and white (as opposed to yellow balls) but taste good. I scrounged my nose when I first saw it but the taste left me asking for more. The grilled sandwich was interesting as well. There was a layer of sautéed capsicum, onion in green chutney. Filter coffee was sweet and fresh.
I would have given it more had I not got a horrid stomach upset from the sambhar though.
Update - 28th January 2018.
Just resumed my journey with the family after a hearty breakfast and some interesting service, compelling me, voluntarily, to tip the middle aged, average height, almost bald gentleman who was waiting at our table. We enjoyed his patronizing behaviour and quick service. Try him. You won't regret.

We spotted this franchise of the popular chain while scanning the roadside eateries for a decent place to have a quick bite; a diner which would serve us something in a short span of time and not the customary 20 minutes serving time as we were rushing to Mumbai on an emergency call.
A little beyond the Wakad food chowpatty along the Pune-Bangalore bypass, VK has ample parking. The diner is a welcome relief on that stretch of the highway for a decent meal or snack amidst an environment of hygiene, cleanliness and extremely polite staff!
An Idli-Medu Wada has always been my preference at South Indian restaurants and here it was no different and though disappointed, I was pleasantly surprised to be advised at the counter (All VK outlets are self-service diners) that the medu wada was stale and not advisable for consumption, having been prepared early that morning! It was 2pm when we had stopped there.
So my wife settled for a plate of Idli (₹70) and a Masala Tak (buttermilk) (₹50). I opted for a Pav Bhaji (₹90) and two extra Pavs (₹5 each).
The pav bhaji was delectable and hungry that I was, lapped it off the plate in no time!!
When the gentleman came to pick up our empty plates and glasses, he politely sought permission to lift them first before simply choosing to clear the table. Admirable!
Conclusively, the food was decent, like at most VKs but the service was almost outstanding.
Definitely recommended to all travelers heading in private cars to Mumbai or Talegaon and beyond to stop by at this clean and decent pit stop for some decent chow and polite service.
Review No 344:
First up, Thank you Zomato for chasing to get this listing up. It took some time but I appreciate the coordinated effort in getting this listed so that others take benefit from the listing.
We happened to see this huge billboard calling out loud the setting up of a Vithal Kamat in the Dange Chowk area (on the Mumbai - Pune road). This place is exactly 3 Kms from the Hinjawadi Flyover on the way to Mumbai (it will fall on your left hand side before the Sai HP Petrol Pump).
This review is based on multiple visits made to the place.
a. Batata wada (Rs 50/- per plate): is a Vithal Kamat's take on the traditional wada. Always served super-hot, it’s filling and spices do not overpower the taste buds nor the tummy. Its served with a nice curd combination along with a spicy side accompaniment.
b. Mini Meal: Was another good dish to have if you are hungry and want to grab something on your way before the Express way begins. Except the Paneer, the dal (tasted very homemade) and mixed veg was good. The food quality overall is very good.
c. Misal Pav: Again, their take on the Misal pav is slightly different but by no means takes away from the ethos of the dish. Good option to try.
d. Idli's: Are perfect for the morning time snack and again always served hot.
e. Onion Cheese Dosa: Took a bit of time to get to our table but again, very nicely prepared.
f. Sabudana Wada: We felt slightly let down by this one. It could have been better. One of the Vadas was overcooked which took the steam off the dish.
Service: In these multiple visits, the service was very prompt and attentive. They clear the plates quickly and ensure the tables are done promptly once the guests leave. They do accept cards as well (important in today's time).
Price: The price is slightly on the higher side when you compare the dishes but I feel they justify the taste and quality they have been able to maintain all these years...irrespective the locations we have been to sit down and have their meals.
Ambience: Very airy and open. Simple setup...nothing fancy but definitely Airy. There is ample parking as well.
Overall the visits have been positive. Here's the ratings on basis the same.
Food: 4/5
Price: 3.5/5
Service: 4/5
Ambience: 3.5/5
*****************
Overall: 4/5 (The additional point is for the good food they continue to serve consistently).
I’m giving 4 star because of the taste has not been same as before or may be this particular outlet had not that tasty food.
We went there as a big group and they were able to serve us in good time and made arrangements for seating us all together. Service and quick and we get all whatever we ordered.
Atmosphere is nothing in these outlets. These all outlets are place where you take a pit stop eat and move ahead.
Located on the Mumbai Pune Highway, this is a great place to stop. Along with Kamat's there is a subway and a missal place as well. There's something for everyone 😊
I always have the kamat batata wada with sambhar. And they never disappoint!
Parking available. Washrooms are clean and well maintained.
The service sometimes is a bit slow, but the food makes up for it.
Overall, a great place 👍
Perfect place on the highway. You get good Maharashtrian cuisine here. Mouth watering taste. Pav bhaji and misal was good.
They have a small flea market as well if you like to purchase the so called old gold things or snacking things.
It’s a good place for simple wholesome food. The best part is they’ve parking available right outside. If you’re traveling with kids you can try butter rotis with gudh (jaggery). Place is very clean. Even the washrooms are also very hygienic and nicely maintained.
Good for breakfast and brunch. Very tasty veg breakfast menu. I liked especially the wada pav and dosa. Dahi wada ia also good. Rates are bit expensive.
Took a hault as we were travelling and had breakfast. We ordered idli sambar. The idli was soft sambar also was tasty. If you are travelling via mumbai-banglore highway and don't know where to go this place might be helpful. They have variety of dishes like misal pav, poha, dosa, vada. Overall taste is great and the service too.
Good Food joint. peaceful atmosphere. Various South Indian varieties. Delicious Rice Plate. Parking Space.
Always a best place for quick bite. Pour vegetarian restaurant. Staff well dressed, service very fast. Great food with reasonable price. Clean and neat washroom inside the restaurant. You can get all south Indian dishes, Punjabi, Chinese and sandwiches with filter coffee and masala tea. Limited thali also available.
We visited on 25th december. There was too much of a rush so the service was ok. We had Maharashtrian thali which was fulfilling and tasty.
Food was not tasty. Otherwise all good.
