I ordered chicken mughlai paratha and Bengali chicken biryani, first with the mughlai paratha there were lots of chicken pices plus it was made in pure bengali style, second the biryani was so flavour full and there were ample of chicken pices and egg as well as we get in kolkata #satisfied

I have gone today to this place...It was amazing...Sarkar da's behaviour was so nice ..That really u will feel homely here...Food was awsome ...Especially bhetki Paturi was so palatable 😍
The resturant is an take way one. Dine in is upto the visitors. I ordered fish thali nd fish cutlet. Fish cutlet was awesome taste as exactly like kolkata street food one..Less on oil ..Dip sauce was ok..Fish thali....Rice quantity is good..Alu bhaja was nostalgia, dal quality ok ok(not preferred for north Indians).. fish piece 2 good ...Curry was good. Over all it was nice experience.
excellent food!! fish fry was fabulous .

Food N Snax is one of my go to place whenever I long for bengali meal.Reasonable pricing and Sarkar Da's cordial nature makes you feel at home. I would only suggest they work on the taste a little more to make it a must go place for all
Food quality is good. Service is nice. I have order from there several times. One problem is it dose not take online order sometimes. This is a big pain.
Have never visited the place but have been ordering food from here since the last 1.5 years. Stumbled upon this restaurant while my Bengali roommate was craving for macher jhol 😂 and since then it has been my go to ( order to?) place when craving for home style chicken gravy or fish curry. Their combo offers are good to the pocket and the quantity is decent enough. Their Bengali tradition of giving aloo bhajja and dal with anything you order never fails to make a bengali (my friend) smile! Dipayan Ghosal
what to eat: mangsho bhaat, rui macher jhol, biryani, murgir jhol bhaath, veg/non-veg meal.
A tiny joint in Baner, easy to miss. I found this place thanks to Zomato. Serving authentic Bengali food, this joint easily reminds me of Kolkata. They serve thalis, individual dishes and also do catering for parties. I like their Bhetki Shorshe diye and their mutton. Soft, delicious mutton served generously, their one thali is good enough for two people. It's best to order in from this place as there's not much ambience in this restaurant and just two tables. So definitely try their home delivery. The food is not of the highest quality but it will early remind you of Kolkata if you are a Bengali staying away from home!
Had a visit to this budget friendly restraunt and man I wasn't disappointed. The chicken was extremely tasty and had ample quantity. The only downside is the they lack sitting space else the experience was very good.
Ordered in the Bengali style chicken biryani. Good packaging. The first thing that will melt your heart is the smell of the biryani, which was quite nostalgic for me. The second thing that will excite you is the presence of aalu and dim. The third thing may be disappointing looking at the quantity of the rice (as compared to what we get in Kolkata) but hold on, they provided 4 succulent pieces of chicken!! Yes you read it right!
I've been to Hyderabad and had their biryani, it's preparation and taste is different than what we get in Kolkata. This biryani was like a fusion of both types of biryani and surprisingly its awesome. Everything was tasty, I'm definitely visiting this place very soon.
Good quantity. Mughlai Parantha is very good.
All Bong foodies and patrons listen up! Your search for authentic bengali dishes end here!
Let me warn you, this is no fancy restaurant with AC and elaborate seating and all, rather its more of a delivery joint. But you must mist try this place for the love of food alone... This is a place in Baner, situated in quiet lane next to Rohit Vadewale.
We had ordered Mutton kosha, chholar daal, chicken cutlets and Radhabollobi with it(for those who are unfamiliar with the name - it is kind of a stuffed bhatura smaller in size).
For a mere 515₹, we had tummyfulls of two meals...at d outlet and leftovers packed for next meal.. quantity of each dish was enough for two people, so we literally had leftovers packed and which sufficed for our next meal at home.
The place is run by a certain Sarkar da, who is a jolly person and suggests you around about the ideal combinations of orders.
The order was quick to arrive, the best part was that mutton meant only bonesless well cooked pieces and not bones like most other places serve! We had a truly satisfying meal here!
Happy 'gluttoning '!
Best Place to dine in...
Awesome food. Proper bengali tasty preparations.
I love the dish murgir jhol bhat. Service is no doubt better as well.
I happened to order chicken biryani on swiggy. And to my surprise it was a perfect awadhi biryani..I have ditched all other food joints to have biryani ever since..the price is much less than other places. Taste : 5/5, Value for money: 5/5
Ordered from this place after hearing a lot about it from friends. The order consisted of simple chicken curry and rice ( " murgir jhol bhat " ) that came along with a good portion of Bengali style potato fries
( " aloo bhaja " ) and some salad . My short review is as follows :
Food quantity : 5 / 5 . I wish I could give a 10 out of 5 . For 150 Rs I got a large portion of very good quality rice , 5 big pieces of chicken in a delicious Bengali style curry that reminded me of home , and a good portion of potato fries .
Food quality : 5 / 5
The chicken was tender and awesome in taste ,
and had the perfect balance of spices .
The rice was fresh , warm and of good long grain type. The aloo bhaja was hot and crispy . Overall it was the best Bengali style food I have tasted in the Balewadi Baner area.
Value for money : 5 / 5
I would recommend this place to everyone who wants to eat awesome food at a very low cost.
Well this is small place for take aways . I had tried it long time back for some rolls . It was ok however last week I ordered Fish fry from this thru swiggy . It was delivered in 30 mins . It contained 4-5 medium flat fillets of boneless fish crumb fried served along with mayo dip.
Fish was fresh and perfectly fried and crispy outside and soft inside. I just loved it so much thati ordered again next day and It was perfect again
Other Items are quite ok but I give 4 stars for fish fry, Its on my fav place list now
Good place. Polite staff. Very oily food. Outdoor seating. They accept PayTm.
Good breakfast options. Need to try more options from the menu.
The whole review is based on food delivered from this restaurant by the Swiggy food delivery app. I have not been to this place physically.
The only place to order bengali cuisine in Baner if I am not wrong. Haven't tried their full menu but have tried their bengali thalis and felt contended. I have also had this vegetable chop and fish fingers which were very nice.
The man who runs this restaurant deserves a special mention for his gentle kind and considerate nature. I ordered food late one night when it was raining cats and dogs and all his delivery boys left. He came himself at my doorstep at 11:30 in the night to deliver the food to me.
Will definitely take my parents for a casual lunch when they come here.
If u r a Bengali suffering in Pune for some home coming....This is the place folks...
Whether its maach or Mangso....sukto or ghonto....Will Bring tears to ur eyes....Sarkar da runs himself the food place...with bangaliana hospitality....
Hats off for the customization you can do in your thali. That's the only thing which draws me here. The food tastes good and if you hate something about it they don't mind changing it or replacing it with something else. Out of 10 times I ate here, 7 times I had a good time. So yes, sometimes restaurants do mess up but its fine if they rectify it and sort it out :)
Good bengali cuisine served at affordable n competitive price. The fish is extremely well prepared. Chicken Steak sizzler is also a dish to look out for.
The one place where you can CUSTOMIZE ANYTHING you want to eat even if it is not on the menu!
The owners are a very humble bengali couple. There is homely sweetness in their conversations.
food quality - awesome
food quantity - sufficient
ambience - small place, one table inside and 2 tables outside in the open. you have to climb a few stairs to reach the place.
price - pocket friendly
The place is good with some decent Bengali flavours within the normal price range. SHORSHE KATOL MACH is a must try and the Aalu Bhaja is very good. So guys, Go and enjoy the food there.
Being a Bengali I would tell that this place has some time of bengaliness to their food. But since Pune has dearth of Bengali joints they should only concentrate on Bengali food. They have way too many options considering the space they have. Their biryani isn't authentic Bengali biryani. Tastes like any other biryani you get here. They should work on their Bengali cuisine part a lot and only provide with Bengali cuisine. The man and the lady owning this place are very nice and friendly.
Welll i tried this place after it was recommended... totally quaint looking.. no ambiance as such..
had these fried fish... gave good quantity... i dont know how to describe it.. love and hate realtionship.. it was good and also not that much...
but worth a try... its really quite a reasonable restaurant.. snax corner
Its awesome!!!!!
Super tasty...super hospitality....even suoerb on pocket!!
Dont go by the look and ambience of this place. Ultimately you come to EAT...and this food won't let you down.
The bengali guy himself owns this place. He is so humble and sweet. Tell him what kind of stuff you are looking for and he will suggest you the best in kitchen!
I tried fish chilly ...its super delicious.... a fish in mustard gravy and some red gravy chiken. All nice and good :)
The quantity is sufficient for 2 big diet stomachs.
Only thing is its a bit spicy so if you are not spice loving person tell him before hand and he gets u done accordingly.
This is my roommate's favorite place for eat out. The staff are friendly n they have very less space for seating n it is outdoor. Owner/chef is very friendly and he suggested the dishes for us.
Fish chilly is very soft, spicy, well marinated n damn tasty.
Chef suggested to try chicken shorma or something, fish in mustard sauce and roti n lacha paratha . it was little spicy but the taste was good. Roti was very soft.
Overall it's worth going there frequently
There is scarcity of good bengali food joint, specially in this part of the city.Period.
I heard of this place from my manager who loves to eat deep fried fish. So, one fine sunday I visited the place. The first impression was not a great one. I have always noticed, whosoever is opening a bengali food joint in pune, never gives that much importance to the decoration of the restaurant. The sole focus is on food. The same is applicable to "Food n Snax". Three tables in total, three of different shapes n colour, which is odd. The place is kinda dirty. Please try to make it sophisticated. If you need to wash your hand, you have to do it very carefully, otherwise the next table can get disturbed. So small the place is.
Now, will come to the good part. Rates are reasonable. Owner of the restaurant is well behaved. And, food is seriously good.
Ordered food from here for my Kiddos first B'day!
Just loved the food!
Veg Pulao
Dhokar dalna
Macher Kalia
Cholar daal
One place I am going to frequent in Pune now!!
Its a not so big eatery not is it flashy but one thing is really awesome "Its a authentic Bongs paradise" Only few tables and chairs just outside this place and service is also a bit slow, but the food,... yum i must say you. Ordered the Kosa Mangso and Fish Fry, mutton was cooked just right and fish was fresh. Then we went for the chicken curry and fish curry, they were well cooked and spices were authentic and mild, just perfect as you find in kolkata. The dishes they serve are made fresh so takes a bit time, but you are assured of good taste.
Overall i highly recommend this place.
Food: 4/5
Service: 3/5
Ambiance: 3/5
Awesome place for home style Bengali food .I prefer its fish preparation far better than chicken . Betki maacher patori a must try. Along with all other fish dish available
Awesome homely food!!!!!
I am deducting 0.5 just because this joint is a small place.
We had a spicy chicken thali and prawns thali, quality was really good, the owner was really warm & welcoming, customizing the thali for us. I can't comment if it was authentic Bengali; however the food was tasty and felt like having home made food.
End of the day its not the ambience or the place but the food that really matters.
Really good food .. Whatever you demand they will make for you. Amazing Bengali food and staffs are so we'll behaved. Only con is the place was lil hard to spot and less space. But that is negligible when the food is so good.
A small restaurant at baner road near my college which serves homely bengali food. Must try their Luchi and narkol diye cholar dal, it tastes good.
My office is right opposite to Food n Snax.
It's a great place to get a taste of (almost) authentic Bengali food in Pune.
Two of my colleagues at the office are Bengali and are frequent visitors to this place.
So I decided to try it out with them.
First time, I tried out a chicken dish with an egg paratha. The parotha was called Mughlai Parotha. Dont remember what the Chicken dish was called. Frankly one of the best parothas I have ever had. The chicken curry was also delicious. Not too spicy but full of taste.
Today I went again to try out a fish rice plate. Name dont remember :( . My colleague ordered it for me.
Again great curry taste . Fish was cooked well. And obviously goes well with rice.
I think I am going again to try the other Bengali fish delicacies!
Its a small place near Balewadi Phata with little seating capacity but serves tasty and authentic Bengali Food. The place is neat and clean for a small eatery. If you value taste above ambience, its the right place.
Been in Pune for the past one year. I am a Bengali by soul and my soul was tranquilized when I came to this place. Saw this place 8 days back and been visiting this place daily for the past 8 days. Variety of dishes, spices as per requested, amazing hospitality. They feed with Love and affection. You ask for any dish. They have it. If not in Menu, they'll prepare it for you. From Thali to snacks, from dishes to soups. PERFECT is the word. Will keep coming as frequently as possible. Fab Taste as well. Gaga!!
Hello Frndz...I am back and I was hungry. Found a small place near idlicious at Baner which has Bengali delicacies starting from fish fry "Mach Bhaja", "Jhuri Bhaja" to Paturi. We had fish thali, fish fry, jhuri bhaja, veg thali. This all costed 360/-. Honestly, the food was not finger licking but ofcourse it was authentically bengali. Pretty much home cooked style. They serve fresh and hot fulkas (ruti) with thali. Quantity is sufficient to fill up the human tank (stomach).
Do not expect the best of ambience, but the hospitality is excellent!!!
If you relish bengali cusine, do visit this place.
Found a new place in Baner for authentic bengali food and that too at a reasonable price ... Pic attached is of the fish thali which was really yumm served with 2 pieces of katla fish , 3 chapatis , rice N a bowl of dal only for 120 Rs ... Must try :)
I saw the name of this food joint few days ago on another website when I was searching for Bengali restaurants and without wasting any time I visited the place on next possible day and here I’m penning down my experience.
Ambiance:
The place is small but neat and clean. We visited the place at peak hours, place was full with hungry souls. They have single table on the ground floor in front of the kitchen and a table or two outside, just right in front of the entrance. As it was raining heavily outside we had to drop the idea of sitting outside and managed a seat in the mezzanine section. A single table with three chairs was available there in the whole place; right now they are using it as storage I guess. Hope they will add more tables to that place soon.
Food:
This was our unplanned visit and we had nothing specific in mind to order. So we scanned the menu and ordered for Fish Fry and Fish Finger as starter. Then we settled with Puri Bhaji and Chicken Kosha with Paratha.
Fish Fry
A perfect Fish Fry is all about the good bonding between crispy crunchy outer layer and soft delicate fish layer in between. I had tried so many places in Pune in the search of this heavenly fry (remember, it’s not just fried fish fillet) and the search was on until I has visited this place. Though their Fish fry is not typical Bengali style; the coriander-onion mixture layer on fish is somehow either missing or very thin. Other than that taste wise it is our perfect Bhetki Fish Fry with a large bhetki fillet and extreme crunch on breaded outer layer. The fish was cooked perfectly; neither burnt nor raw with the right amount of seasoning. It is a must try from their menu.
Fish Finger
Same words for Fish Finger too. Good amount of fish, great crunch and perfectly cooked delicate fish strips with correct seasoning. The only thing is if they serve Kasundi with it, I will be in 7th heaven for sure!
Puri Bhaji:
First of all these are ‘puri’ not luchi as I expected. Luchis are made of maida and puris are made from atta. Honestly I was bit disappointed when I saw a plateful of puri coming towards me.
But then after taking first nibble I realized these puris were extremely soft and light; not oily or hard at all. Now I’m glad that I had tried these perfectly puffed up puris because this is the best puri I’ve tried so far. On the other hand bhaji was good alu sabzi (potato curry) with green peas but nothing great about it. They also provided pickle and raw onion which I enjoyed truly with the bhaji.
Chicken Kosha with Paratha
First of all the quality of chicken (with bone) was good and the Bengali Styles triangle parathas were made of atta not maida (sorry can’t escape from my bong nature). Chicken kosha didn't taste like typical Bengali styled but it tasted good. Probably fragrant Bengali spices were missing in the dish.
The chicken was cooked well, spices were fried/roasted (not raw at all), gravy tasted well balanced. Since it is a good chicken curry so the ‘Bengali thing’ is completely forgivable to me. And the humble owner also provided us an extra bowl full of jhol and alu (curry with potato) which made my heart melt.
Service:
As I mentioned before, the place is small to call a restaurant; rather a happening (by looking at the crowd) food joint would be appropriate for it. The place was over flowing with people on a rainy night and few of them were sitting outside too. We waited about 15 mins to get our starters and another 5-6 mins to get the main. Honestly I didn't find any problem with that as they provided everything freshly cooked.
Pros:
The one and only place (at present) to enjoy good Bengali fried snacks/appetizers and other dishes,
Value for money.
Cons:
Inadequate dine in facility.
Cost:
Cost for two people 350-400 INR.
Verdict:
As I mentioned before I had the best Bengali fried snacks here only, it is obvious I will keep visiting them in a loop. And even if I leave the authentic Bengali food criteria aside, there are plenty of other reasons to visit this place repeatedly. But next time I’ll be back to try some fish curry here.

It's a restaurant for food loving people. The bengali/fish dishes are very good. Pocket friendly resturent. Here you can get every type of menu. But this place is famous for bengali dishes. They have delivery option through food panda, swiggy, Zomato. It's populer with name of " Sarkar da's resturant".
Great Place to have Bengali foods in Baner.
Great location.
Good food.
Sitting arrangement is less. Best for takeaway.
Staffs are well mannered.
The place is small with only 2 tables to sit. But the dishes are too good...a recommended place for ordering.
My first try on Bengali cuisine in Pune and I was more than satisfied with the dishes served...Tried the Chicken Chaap and Chicken Kosha. The dishes were full of flavour and very well depicted the Bengali cuisine. The Laccha parathas were thin with deliciously crisp outer layer and perfectly cooked inner layer which accompanied the Chicken dishes brilliantly. Luchi the Bengali take on Puri's (served for tasting) were yumm. To finsh up the meal, the Chum Chum was exceptionally soft with well balanced sweetness and the Masala Tak was beautifully seasoned.
In all a very delecious, flavourful and well balanced dishes that did justice to a Sunday lunch at reasonable prices.
Will be visiting again to try other dishes.
Place is small but when it comes to taste, they have that authentic Bengali touch, excllent taste and hospitality from the owner make the affair all the more good, highly recommend if you are craving for authentic Bangla food
