Brilliant place with super variety..Had their veg thali which was economically priced and very well made..Loved my share of 'solkadi'..Do try their thalis
Amazing food. Have been going here for years and every time I need a spicy trip on food I go here. Good job guys keep it up!!! Love the food.
Great prawns thali and descent service..also as far as sea food is concerned, you get a typical Konkan taste and preparation.. friends tried surmai thali too which tasted good..👍..finding place to park your vehicle is a bit issue..
I don't know why this place has such bad reviews. Yes they do charge for water and d card, but on zomato we need to talk about how d food is..... isn't it?
Anyway, I personally LOVED the food here....n so did my friends. We had ordered the chicken thali and surmai fry....all of which was amazingly delicious. We literally drooled over that taste for days after the visit! Yep it was that good! Maybe it was a lucky day for me....or maybe other reviewers were unlucky....but as far as I am concerned, I will definitely revisit!
I have visited this place multiple times in last 3 years, being one of the good place for fish.
In fish, I prefer their perfection Bombil Thali, or a la carte dishes like moori masala and prawns masala with kombdi wada. Other many dishes are up to the mark.
Though improvements needed in chapatis and Sol kadhi.
I recommend sea food lovers to visit here.
Good place to have some authentic malvani cuisine.
Ambiance has a little konkani village feel to it with dim yellow lightings and basic diner furniture. There are 2 3 fish tanks around.
The staff is okay and service is a bit slow.
We had ordered gajalee special fish thali, the fish fry was tasty and perfectly spiced. Fish curry could have been better or i have had better konkani curry before. Special points for bombil fry, really liked that. Solkadhi was good though a bit salty, Liked the rice bhakris too.
A nice place to quench those seafood cravings.
Been there today and had Surmai fry and Solkadhi 👍😋 its was nice experience fish was fresh and solkadhi too 👍 wud try some other dishes too, Ambeince is ok ok and wud recommend to friends
Good food, excellent and fast service, that's what is required when you're hungry.
Had ordered surmai and bombil fry, found it delicious enough for my satisfaction.
Staff members are very prompt and humble to serve you.
Worth visiting again.
It's one if the must visit yum yum fish places - v courteous staff and print service. Home delivery is super efficient too. Try their whole menu one by one and it's worth it!! The owner is really sweet and will always personally assist u too. A must visit!
Delicious sea food, everything was fresh. More than sufficient food quantity in thali. Staff was very friendly. Must visit restaurant for sea food lovers.

Nice place to have authentic fish varieties. Specially like Surmai and Pamphlet thali. All the best and keep the same taste, quality and service.
Awesome tasting food.... After trying out the food here once you just cannot avoid ordering again and again...!!👍🏻👌🏻keep up the great work guys..
Best place for seafood lovers, fresh food, with best quality....and delicious. ........must try. They have home delivery every where in pune
Excellent Service. Excellent Home Delivery. Excellent Food Quality. Words are not enough to describe this joint. The owner Gaurav Khedekar is very much the entrepreneur a man can be. Customer satisfaction has always been key quality inspite of what people say. As far as my experience goes, amazing outlet to dig into your favourite Malvani Dishes.
If u r not too fussy about ambiance and on a lookout for a no-nonsense tasty sumptuous sunday afternoon dine-out..you would really appreciate this place.. The proprietor attends everyone personally ..non-veg n seafood replicate their native flavor almost to the tee..
Been here while coming back to Mumbai from Pune (comes on the way if you take baner road). Given the fan of malwan food, I was excited to stop here for lunch. Ordered surmai fish thali and a bhangada fry separately. The fish thali had different kinds of fishes- fish fry, fish curry and fish in some green colored coconut based gravy; also had rice bhakari and rice (can also chose chapatis). Liked all of them, especially fried fish and the green gravy. One must visit for malwan food. Very tasty!
This place was recommended by a senior in our office and I went there along with a few colleagues for dinner . The restaurant has a very simple exterior and interior . The ambience is like any small ticket place with basic amenities . Nothing fancy . Famous for its non veg esp sea food . We ordered 2 pom fret fish thali and 1 egg thali . Also ordered rotis made from rice. Very unique taste I must say ! The thali is quite filling and after they serve rice you almost want to give up. :) there are 2 types of curry fish dishes and one fries fish . It's a lot for one person. So if you go there don't think of starters and extra dishes . The taste is good esp fried fish ..although in one of the curries I could get a strong smell which I thought was strange for pom fret . Anyways , I feel overall it's a nice place for food . And a welcome change from the regular.
this ones long pending review... visited here in 1st half of April, used to go earlier back in my childhood..over the years quality has changed quite drastically as seen from other reviews.however we had mixed experience, thanks to good service will visit it again...
location: its on baner road while going towards balewadi stadium after balewadi phata...
ambiance: its fairly big place, which is well maintained.
don't expect hifi stuff but I must admit no fishy smell either(raw one)!!
they have open kitchen as in you can see all activities but of course behind glass windows that way one wont get aromatic feel(I prefer that aroma while fish is being fried)
Food: after deciding for long time than usual opted for usual starter(fry items) and main course
for starters we had Surmai Fry and Bombil fry(in per plate version)
Surmai comes in 3 medium pieces & masala coating
although taste was good it was nothing like mind blowing, then it was bit oily than normal , however bombil fry was bit improved than this ( but overall trust me I have had better)
in main course we tried their Malwani Gajali special gravy of Mori(Baby Shark) with 4 wade
This was stellar of all , quite brilliantly cooked and had perfect balance of that strong shark flavour and konkani masala ,Mori pieces were tender melted in the mouth.. malwani wadas or you can say puri were just too good... crispy and tasted fabulous with gravy.. quantity of gravy was ample for two and in fact we ordered bhakri (rice)
service: fast and efficient.. although server didn't have deep knowledge about cooking methods of those dishes it was still passable
cost something 1100 for 2 so somewhat on higher side
overall its worth giving second shot but its not entirely pocket friendly adventure... 3.5/5 from me
Good seafood
Authentic.
The service is okay
Overall the place is okay to sit
Nothing fancy but a good place to enjoy seafood
The prawns Thali is really tasty
The thalis are slightly expensive (but im just comparing this with goa so the rates for pune are normal. Duh!!) Had bangda thali. Good food. Service levels are okay. Decor is nothing to die for.
Well, it was an unknown hotel for me. Went in search of some snacks and ended eating A prawns thali.
It was super Amazing. Fried prawns.. Masala prawns and curry.. All very yummy.. very very ample quantity.. Perfectly Cooked. Perfectly spice.. Must try..
Even the solkadhi is yummy.. Must visit must try..
The first reasonable meal in Pune after almost a month. Coming back late from my friends house at around 11 we ordered dinner .... The owner himself was there at that time and served the food even , such hospitality warms the heart .. The food though took a good 35-40 mins to arrive was good .... Chicken handi and paneer tikaa masala .. Both were really good ,the tandoori roties were really good also .... Id like to go there at a more proper time and try out a lot more .
Recently tried this twice, and liked the food. Large menu to choose from variety of chicken, fish, mutton. The taste is really different but still feels like home cooked. Ordered for home delivery and it was perfect and HOT.
My weekend lunch capitol on baner, Malwani Gazali offers a great assortment of curries in its meat thalis along with a nice chilled out ambience to dine in. A lil bit on the pricey side, the place still gives one his money's worth.
Very good malwani chicken handi and chapati.
Not recommended for people who can't handle fish smell as the entire place smells like one.
This place exists here since long long time and I have had dinner here a few times in the past. Yesterday, I had very late night dinner at Malwani Gazali. It was 11:15 PM and there were only two patrons. I wanted to have quick meal hence asked for Thali.
Typically would have opted for a fish thali but I wanted to have something different yet not to deviate from Maharashtrian cuisine hence opted for Kolhapuri mutton thali.
Bhakhari- made from rice flour, thin, light and nice.
Mutton fry- Dry preparation in red-brown base with lots of oil but lesser spices, tender and nice.
Egg Masala- Best preparation of thali in semi thick red-orange gravy. Very tasty.
Pandhara Rassa- Thin coconut broth, piping hot, best in Pune.
Tambada Rassa- Thin spicy red-brown broth with lesser oil, piping hot. Nice.
Steamed rice- small portion, warm and tender.
Onion slices and lemon.
Thali Rs 269, PDW Rs 25 Service Charges Rs 6
Decent, tasteful dinner experience.
Awesum place for rassa bhakri. Assal Kolhapuri food.
We were in mood for some burgers and chips and decided on a place. However the place was closed and we had to start looking for some place else which would70 fit the bill. We came upon this traditional Malavni joint advertising huge servings of fish and the fish-eater in us just could not resist. The hoarding also says that its their 20th year in the business and they also have a facebook page. That reminds me that I have to go like it...
The place boasts of being a family restaurant but may look a little shady to sceptics from outside. However, my urge to dig into a fish got the better of me and we decided to walk in. There was 1 family inside which was enough to put me at ease. I must say for some strange reason we were given special treatment from the outset and were served by the restaurant manager himself (at least he looked like it). Did someone tip them off that I would be writing this review??
The menu card brought an instant smile on our faces to see such cheap prices for fish in this city. We took -
1. Crab Soup, 1/2 - for just 70 bucks I had assumed they would simply dip a crab and take it out of the vegetable stock and serve the crabless stock to us. I was in for a shocker. It did have crab meat and loads of it. Total paisa vasool. How are they making a profit I wonder.
2. Prawn Thali - Includes good size portions of - prawn curry, dry prawn masala, fried prawns, 3 chapatis, extra curry, sol-kadhi and rice of course.
3. Surmai Thali - Includes surmai red curry, surmai green curry, fried surmai, 3 chapatis, extra curry, sol-kadhi and rice.
The thalis were 300/- a piece and were the most expensive items on the menu. So in all we had a over-full fish meal under 700 bucks. A steal i say.
Strictly for sea-food lovers. We will be back!
The sea food was good and also in affordable rate (fish platter @950). Mostly the non-veg food are made in malvani style, it's little bit sweet due to coconut.
Excellent food. Great service and a clean kitchen.
Tasty but costly.
Visited the restaurant near inox.
Easy to reach.
Parking was available.
The restaurant is spacious.
Ambience is good.
Since it was an afternoon of a working day,
there was hardly any crowd.
Elaborate menu right from starters to desserts.
Ordered various seafood dishes from starters, soups, main course.
You have a choice to select a 🦀 or 🦞 that goes in your plate. (Personally didn't eat either of them).
Prawns in starters and 🐟 curries were good and tasty.
However, overall this is a slightly heavy on pocket place.
Great seafood place. Car parking can be an issue. Owner is usually present at the hotel and takes an interest in ensuring that patrons are happy. Rates are reasonable. Food quality is great. They offer home delivery across town. Highly recommended place for seafood with a very simple ambience considering Balewadi High Street is literally around the corner.
Awsome food specially the fish dishes. Try out there malvani curry and fried fish. My brother and mom loves the mutton special dry fry. Mouth watering will visit you again
In hurry? Want to have a quick breakfast? This is a right place you are looking for.. Taste is good.. Also it serves Lunch and dinner just like your mess, at reasonable rates.. Also parcels are available..
Good place for sea food, reasonable prices. Only bad point is not car parking available,
And VERY long wait to get the food. We waited 45mins just to get the order for 2.
Place is kinda shacky, but good if you are with friends.
Food quality is good. One can have a full fledged food at economical rates. Taste is also good as compared to remaining nearby restaurants at same price.
It was the most gratifying experience. The food was excellent, the staff was very patient, informative and helpful. And to top it all , the portions were very sumptuous. It was value for money. Thank you.I would highly recommend Malvani Gajali.
Good place to eat sea food. Also economical on pocket. The straters are also good and fish Thali is good to eat. Wish they made hot Bhakri ( Indian bread) Pro tip: Order wada instead of Chapatis.
Prawns dry, bombil fry, mutton dishes, bangda fry, shell fish or veg zunka served with wade and rice bhakri washed down with sol kadi all so delicious.
