Rassam idli is a south Indian restaurant that we often resort to for having breakfast. For our recent visit, we had Onion uthappa, Medu Wada, Masala dosa and Idli sambar along with filter coffees. Everything was really good in taste, The medu wada, delicious, light on the stomach, great option for breakfast, the uthappa, especially the Idli sambar. They serve 2 Idlis along with Sambar, chutney.
Rassam idli is a South Indian treat with its own charm. I have personally visited the Deccan outlet and the staff is very friendly and the food is also up to the mark. Today I ordered from here and everything was so fresh. A notable and very appreciative thing about this place is that the quantity of everything is very commendable in terms of the pricing which is very rare these days. The ratings for the restaurant is something that they do not deserve as the ratings are very low and underrated. They deserve a thumbs for really everything that they are offering right from food to the quantity to the service. Keep up the good work! Cheers to the entire team of Rassam idli!
I find this place good, without hype and serving good food at reasonable cost. Initially, they had self service which is now discontinued.
Most of their items are good in taste, similar to (and few of them better than) much hyped south indian restaurants on FC road. Taste of sambar is also different yet good.
Best is their filter coffee. One of the most authentic south indian coffees available in Pune.
In short this restaurant presents good hygienic eating option and has become very popular too.
This place has always been good from the very beginning the service is quick and the people are humble the taste is awesome sambar is very different to the other South Indian establishments

We visited this place as we wanted to grab a quick and lightweight snacks. Was looking for some restaurant while coming from swargate in afternokn 4pm. First we went to darshan as sneha was closed. It doesn't have much options, in budget range. Sandwich was 150 bucks so we came out and went to rassam idli.
It looked like Udupi as per menu. We ordered idli, Mysore masala does and puri bhaji. Idli and dosa came quickly with banana leaf. It was good. Puri bhaji took sometime, puri was double the size which you normally get in Udupi. Bhaji was different. Sambar was tasty. Coconut chutney was not good. We tried filter coffee as well. It was good. Good place to visit for a quick byte and South Indian food near garware on Prabhat road.

Found this place at the junction and tried their filter coffee and tea. The service was fast (just like all south Indian restaurants) and the taste was amazing. The price was also decent for me, as a student. They also serve various south Indian delicacies.

Ambience is simple and comfortable seating arrangement.
•Steam idli with sambar-idli was fresh,hot and spongy.(Mastaaa)sambar was thick I prefer thick sambar mostly.
•Daal wada-crispy layer from outside and soft inside liked it alot soon to visit for this once more,it was served with coconut chutney which was fresh.
•Mysore Masala Dosa-Crispy dosa with rassam and coconut chutney was freshly made,potato sabji was Gud but not upto the mark felt it was bit of dry.
•Filter coffee-Mastaaaaa..one must try this highly recommended.

Awesome idli & medu vada dipped in Rassam... Had to have it twice.... Even chutney is tasty.... One of those rare places where hygiene and taste meet.... Need to visit again.... Though I still don't get the logic of people ordering French fries and pav bhaji here.... Lol

We tried idli wada mix, plain dosa and tea. Taste was very good and prices are extremely pocket friendly. Location is extremely good. Recommended.
If you wish to enjoy good South Indian dishes at a good price, this is the place you should be. South Indian cuisine, being my favourite breakfast food, I try it everywhere. Trust me this is really good. The service is good, and the food tasty and aesthetically attractive and appetizing. The dishes come in good quantity and the cost is low. I personally love the coconut chutney and thought that it was served in a lesser quantity (just my opinion). Loved the sambar as it was thick in consistency.
Thing to remember: The billing method here is different where you order and pay the bill and then the food is served.
Cost effective: We 2 people had 2 dishes, tea and coffee under 200. Just amazing.
What I had:
Ghee Roast Sada Dosa: Crunchy long dosa, rolled up to look absolutely amazing. Tasted delicious.
Set Dosa: Three small, soft dosas. Perfect for people who love their dosas thick.
Filter coffee: Not very strong, not very milky. Just appropriate. Must try.
prices are very good compared with quality same quality u will pay 40-50 rupees extra for Mysore masala Dosa

The place is at a very convenient point, well lit and extremely friendly staff. The food is good at a very reasonable price. Their Dahi wada has a very refreshing taste and I suggest its a must have. Altogether the best part is well lit, open restaurant with decent food and average price. Thumbs Up!

We had heard about this restaurant, and today we finally got the opportunity to sample the fare. We loved the experience, everything was really fresh and nice. The medu vadas were crisp and nicely done, as was the idli and onion uttappa. Ended the breakfast with a great filter coffee. Overall, this one is highly recommended, a real good restaurant serving nicely done South Indian items; a great alternative to hotel Vaishali.

It's a south Indian joint with indoor sitting options. The place has a self service system but the staff was courteous enough to serve our food at the table. We were a big group of girls n u can imagine the volume levels when so many girls are talking 😜 But the restaurant guys tolerated all this with utmost patience. We cud sit aaram se for long time n chit chat.
Now coming to food-
We probably ordered almost each and every item on the menu. Tut pade the khane pe 😜
They have many different options as compared to typical south Indian joint.
We had - Buns khurma ( a mangalorean dish) , Goli bhaje, Chau Chau bhat (made from Suji, served in 2 variations - sweet n salted). All these 3 items were total new for me. Something different n tasty to try.
Apart from this, we also had wada samber with Rassam, topi dosa, ghee roasted cheese dosa, cheese chillie toast, filter coffee n tea. All the items were good in taste.
Overall a wonderful experience for lifetime. Many more visits in future for sure.
It's a must visit place if you love south Indian cuisine n love exploring varieties of it.
If you are at Deccan in day time or searching early morning breakfast . This place newly started before 6 months near darshan . Serving really good fresh south indian food . Which is 100% going to satisfy you hunger . And it is pocket friendly as well. Nice place to visit with family. Rassam Idli Restaurant, located on a busy Prabhat road, Deccan Gym khana. You can totally see the bright big board from a good distance.
Serving Yummylicious south indian speciality food with various new introduced menu that atleast I haven't had before.
Going in a big group is always fun if we find a good place where we can sit, enjoy and not rush. Easy on the pocket is the bonus.

Rassam idli has a self service system which is absolutely hassle free and swift. Though we went in a big group, the staff was courteous enough to serve our food at the table, they were efficient and very organized.

Buns khurma - for a first timer like me, it was an absolute relish. The buns(a type of fried puri) which was neither too sweet nor salty, it had its own flavour something new for the tastebuds to explore. It was an absolutely different experience with this particular dish.
Goli bhaje - fried battered balls mixed with curry leaves and green chillies. The softness and freshness of goli bhaje was commendable. It was fried but wasn't oily at all, paired with a delicious coconut authentic chutney.
Chau chau bhat - flavoured sheers type made of suji paired together in two different flavours sweet and salt. It was absolutely lipsmacking.
Cold and hot coffee : the filter coffee as well as the cold coffee has their own unique flavour. I personally loved the fact that both had strong coffee and less sugar. Cold coffee was a hit for me being a coffee addict myself.
Apart from these we tried the dosa's, medu wada and cheese chilli toast. Everything was enjoyed and loved by each of us present there. The food was not only piping hot when served but also very neatly plated.
Over all we all enjoyed like crazy had a gala time and the food made it all such a wonderful experience. It is a must visit if you love exploring the different taste and specialities of the cuisines.

I never ever had such yummy South Indian food before in pune. They serve yum food and the place is hygiene. You can visit with family and friends. Food served in beautiful plates and banana leaves.
I never get onion-garlic less South Indian food in pune before as it’s not available at any resto. Here sambhar, chutney and rassam was served without onion and garlic and it was really yum !!
