Was on a one day trip to Pune, to visit the Dagduseth Ganpati and try the classy food at Pune. After having a long day, all tired I finally arrived at Mastani house. It was time to end the hot day with some awesum desserts and leave for Mumbai.
Ambience: As soon as I entered the Mastani house I took first table next to the door. I gave the order and then realised I was sweating. There was just one ceiling fan in the centre of the room and that too was in stopped state. There was a standing floor fan which was engaged on an another customer. Finally I moved to another table outside the door, and it was suprisingly cool and breezy ouside. The table outside actually lit up my mood.
Food: We had ordered Gulkand mastani and Spl. Malai kulfi. The order came without a lot of delay even though the place seemed to have a good amount of customers. Gulkand mastani was some thick and slightly rose flavoured milk, some concentrated unevenly stirred gulkand at the bottom and a large vanilla icecream scoop garnished with a cherry at the top. The first sip was heaven. The milk was really thick(icy) and consistent. Moving the straw deeper into the glass gave a lot stronger flavour of gulkand. With an already full stomach it felt slightly heavy, but overall was a delicious experience .
The Spl Malai kulfi was garnished with a bit of dry fruits and tasted comparatively better than other malai kulfi's I had tried before. It seemed and tasted as if it was freshly prepared.
I left the Mastani house satisfied with taste and stomach full of deserts. They can do a bit well with the ambience inside the house, especially the cooling arrangements and customer attendance/staff. The menu and taste is already fantastic and satisfactory.
This place serves deserts for a decent price range especially if your in the mood for a faluda.
I would recommend the Faluda Ice-cream and Mango Faluda.

Mastani does not have a certified fineprint about how its taste and texture and overall how should it be. I usually like to have the one of Sujata's Mastani House. But had a keen interest in trying out another option too. So what better than Gujar :) Also we (I and one of my friend) we were in close vicinity of this branch.
Ventured in and got to see two seating options, downstairs (outside/inside) and upstairs (For couples ;-P ). We chose upstairs. The place is quite ok in terms of space. I had heard about the Bajirao Mastani and wanted to try that one. My friend chose Butterscotch. Got both served in about 10 minutes or so. Both of them were good in taste, but were a bit more on the liquid side.
Overall the experience was good and I would not exactly recommend this but would ask you all to try out once.

Bajirao mastani was a twist in taste as it had mango pineapple mix,black current was amazing and rose could have been better..

I was aware of this delicious drink called Bajirao Mastani but never got a chance to try it. Wanted to do a food trail on my birthday and this was on my list ever since I heard of it. So there I were, at the ever famous Gujar Mastani House and without a doubt, I ordered Bajirao Mastani.
Freshly rustled sumptuous glass of Bajirao Mastani, Puneās very own creation. Mastani is your very own thick milkshake topped with pieces of cut fruit, dry fruit and whipped cream. Pineapple flavored ice cream which gives it an extra punch. Pretty decent. Sujata Mastani still gets top marks.
This name from the legend of the famous Peshwa ruler Bajirao and his lover, the beautiful Mastani. After a little checking and asking around I got to know that initially when this drink was served to people they used to appreciatively remark āmastā or awesome thus, this drink is called Mastani.
Also, Us Punekars are extremely proud of our cultural heritage and hence this delicious, famous dessert has been named after the effervescent, beautiful courtesan who stole the mighty Bajiraoās heart.

Mango mastani, Special Dry Fruit mastani- these are the two things I used to have during visits to my relatives in Pune. Honestly, I haven't found a substitute for Gujar! Quantity and quality both were unmatched, about 10 years ago, need to check again soon.

Well, I prefer a cool refreshing Falooda.
I nostalgically remember the the ice cold Shahi Gulab Falooda I always have at Shalimar in Bhendi Bazar after devouring my favorite tandoori raan masala and other spicy rich non-veg delights.
And what is a perfect end to a spicy Kolhapuri Meal?
It is a Mastani ā no doubt about it ā a cool, refreshing, lip-smaking Mastani to quench your fires and perk you up with itās blissful sweet cool revitalizing effect.
Mastani is to Pune what Falooda is to Mumbai.
You get Mastani at many places in Pune.
The first time I tasted Mastani when I was a small boy was at Kawre Cold drink House near Ganpati Chowk off Laxmi Road, but now I feel that their Mastani isnāt as good as before.
Punekarās have their favorites like Sujata Mastani in Sadashiv Peth, which is close to the āKolhapuriā food district of Pune near Peru Gate, but I like the Mastani at Gujar Mastani House near City Pride Multiplex on Satara Road.
At Gujar Mastani House, I order a āBajirao Mastaniā.
If you look at the menu, you will get confused, as there feature all types of fancy Mastani fortified with dry fruits and all sorts of rich high-calorie embellishments, which will in fact will make you feel heavy and slothful, rather than quench, stimulate, revitalize and perk you up.
So remember the golden rule, the āsignatureā no-frills authentic item will always be at the top of the menu, least expensive in that class ā so go ahead and order it.
The contents of the tall glass comprise an attractively appetizing looking and fragrant layered creamy milky liquid of increasing density topped with ice-cream, with a straw thrust vertically through.
The glass is so full, that in order not to spill the stuff, you first sip through the straw a bit of the deliciously sweet pineapple syrup at the bottom, which feels heavenly as it mingles with, permeates, and overcomes, the spicy āKolhapuriā aftertaste on your tongue.
And if you are just plain parched, dehydrated and thirsty, the first sweet sip itself is deliciously thirst-quenching.
Then you have small dollops of vanilla and pineapple ice-creams that adorn the crown.
After that you can savour the Mastani as you please, but I like to stir the contents into a creamy mƩlange and spoon the delicious concoction onto my tongue, roll it in my mouth and savor every drop, rather than hastily suck the liquid via the straw straight into my throat down the hatch.
The āBajirao Mastaniā at Gujar is pineapple and orange flavored and the small juicy pieces of pineapple at the end leave you with a tangy feeling.
I donāt know if you get āMastaniā in Mumbai, or elsewhere.
But next time you visit Pune, do enjoy a Mastani.

It was my first experience trying a mastani. I tried the mango flavor and I just loved it! The smooth creamy texture served with a scoop of vanilla icecream was like a cherry on the top. The flavorful beverage was phenomenal. Along with it we tried their special badshahi falooda which had kulfi in it. I honestly did not like it much(hence a star less). And the other special, dry fruit falooda, as the name says was loaded with dry fruits. Overall it was a good experience. Clean place, parking space available, can be easily located. Would recommend .
It's a nice place with sufficient seating,making it particularly convenient for families. They don't have their own car parking,which can be a hassle during daytime. However, if you go later in the evening or at night, parking should not be an issue as you will easily find it on Market Yard road. They have a wide range of mastanis to choose from. Overall, I would recommend this place.
one of the best mastani in pune city, not just like an thick milkshake and ice cream on top, these people really respect there work and keep the place clean , mastani is very classic and delicious, fresh ice-cream, not much preserved as others, try out bajirao mastani for 60 rupees almost an dollar , thats and nice piece and meaning of an taste. kulfies are wonderfully serve, seating arrangements are great, outdoor chairs are available and its an duplex sittings for customers but does not accept any card or any phone or online transactions, these people also have some parking space for bikes which is exactly touch to the main road, check out the prices of mastani and other drinks and ice cream i posted below.

Not upto the mark but ok. Not anything different or unique, just another mastani house. You can see a lot of variety on menu but i dont think it would be anything so different. I had a Bajirao Mastani.
I tasted my first masthani here. Masthanis starts at ā¹70. The basic masthani is named as Bajirao masthani. It's good but it's a one tym wonder.
Apparently this is one of the oldest coldrink house as they used to call it in the retro era. This one is themed around faloodas, Mastaani and icecreams along with Kulfi and shakes and sundaes. The taste is distinct and delicious, which certainly delight your taste buds. When you travel towards Kartaj Chowk from swaragte you have to spot City Pride multiplex which sits right next to the place. Recommend
