If you are in pune bedekar is a must visit .authentic puneri misal showing the rich culture of pune itself .
Bedekar misal gives an authentic puneri misal with great quality food. Packaged with utmost care . Great to start a Sunday with ....
Went to pune for a news interview with Sharad Pawar during assembly election 2019. With entire crew & Ahsan Abbas (collegue) visited this place. It was suggested by a foodie friend Santoshi Mishra. This is very simple food joint. Simple sitting. Moderate decor. Very economical rate compare to the quality of food. But the missal they had was amazing… legendery. One of the best of Maharashtra. Spicy and typical pune’s ytaste in it . Instead of paav they serve slice bread with Misal. It’s a must visit place for all missal lovers.
Decided to have Bedekar misal after long. Picked it up myself. Packaging was excellent. Cost 90 rupees, which is on the higher side. I would term it as "Donald Trump" of misals for how polarizing it is. Those who like it, love it; those who dislike it, hate it. Personally, I liked it very much. Had only eaten it a couple of times so didn't even remember what it tasted like. It has a sweet/sour or tangy kind of undertone which is generally not associated with misal. Was definitely a welcome change.
If you like your Misal spicy so this place maybe disappoint you .
It's not like a traditional spicy Misal you get anywhere. The curry is not spicy and has different ingredients than found in typical one.
Thought it has got a little touch of sweetness because of Jaggery, it tastes really good. Being a person with sweet tooth, I had no problems of it being sweet. I am a hard core Maharashtrian, and love spicy Misal as well, and I can still vouch for this Misal being one of the best. They do serve it with bread instead of Pav, which goes really well or rather better than Pav, with the kind of flavor it offers. The Chivda/Farsan used is crispy and is similar to what will be used in a good spicy Misal.
Must visit place, if you are OK with little bit of sweetness in the Misal. If not, then this is not a place for you.
Best misal I have ever had
The owner was very kind and gave me a teaspoon sugar after they got an idea that I found the misal too spicy. Loved the taste. 😋
A place for Maharashtra special items.
People recommended me to have Misal pav here and it's a great dish.
It is located in busy City area of Pune and place is so many years old shop with amazing dishes there.
Misal pav was lil spicy but who doesn't like spicy.
You must experience few dishes like batata vada, misal pav, and sweet dishes here.
This place is abuzz at karve road
Filled with crowd and so many hungry-birdies who need their morning fill
The sabudana-khichdi was nice looking, soft sabudana, and the khichdi came out superb. The balls of love, with sweet, spicy and a hint of tang flavours to add with the lemon-wedge they provide on the side.
It had perfect balance of spice and sweetness
With pieces of peanuts in between for all those who love their peanuts
I cudn't ask for more
Really!
I missed the sweet dahi which sadly they don't provide
Happy Eating!
Go and have this misal atleast once. It's sweet and spice, perfect blend abd will be overcrowded sunday mornings, so choose some other day. And, don't forget to have taak there. For more genuine reviews, follow my food blog on Instagram - https://instagram.com/food__4__soul?igshid=wgd1r4w6iyf7
First of all I am a super misal lover♥️♥️and talking about this misal is a super good in taste .....only the thing which disappointed me was bread served with misal and they called it paav.😂seriously 💯and the service is good ....and talking about the staff.....they are bit puneriiiii but greatttt😂😂as I m the same.🥳
One of the legendary misal outlets in Pune. We went early morning and the service was pretty good, we were given a seat immediately though we had to share the table with one more person. Many people say the misal is sweet but the sweet flavour really balances the spicy part of the curry. Batata vada was nice and crisp, rather perfect. Service is fast and prompt especially in morning hours.
A legendary outlet in the bylanes of Narayan Peth. Partial to this one over Katakirr, Shrimant and all that. They haven't changed a thing and that experience counts. It's a little different from all the other misals you might have tasted (a liiittle sweet with all the spice) but that makes it even more special. Must-have in old Pune.
Usually bekekars is closed during diwali week. Please note. They had a board displayed outside that they are closed 30 oct to 6 Nov 2019.
In the by lanes of Narayan Peth, is located the famous and iconic Bedekar Tea Stall, serving quintessential Maharashtrian snacks, including the famous Puneri Misal. If you are there for breakfast you can go for poha, upma, sheera or Misal. We of course went for Misal. The one made here is quite different from Kolhapur or Jalgaon and has a tinge of sweetness to it, as they add gud or jaggery to it. This is in keeping with the local Brahmin tastes and specifications of the cuisine. They also serve two varieties of laadu made with ghee coconut and jaggery, along with their hot cuppa tea! A must visit place in Pune, clean, hygienic and easy on the pocket. Extremely polite and warm management and staff. Place is pretty crowded throughout the day. Best time to visit is early morning or late afternoon
Got some misal pav delivered from here, and absolutely loved it! it is perfect for one person and if you can handle the spice, then it is the place for you. We have heard it is knows for their super spicy misals!
Bedekar tea stall is a very old joint in pune. Known for vada and misal pav many locals and tourists visit here. My friend has high regards for this place and he took me there. To be really honest, i liked the food but felt it is just above average. They serve misal with a spicy gravy with bread slices instead of pav. It is a place that you can visit once.
Had heard about this place alot of time.....finally went here and i was amazed with their misal it was fantastic with proper balance of spiciness, sourness and sweetness.....after this ive gone here many times and ill go again again.......
Although the place is very small, they are nicely able to manage the crowd. Misal tastes awesome, not too spicy, and u willbe full in 2 slices bread. There are sweet options as well like differenttypes pf laddoos and we tried each one, they tasted awesome like home made.
The misal is really Yummy super taste, the owners are cordial and smiling
My husband is really find of misal and I am not so he insisted me to go this place. For the first time I liked misal. They serve misal with bread and tatse was different from misal I have tried till now. We also had Kanda bhaji which was amazing tasty. Loved their food. Will surely love to visit another time.

We go to Bedekar for the misal almost every time that we visit Pune. Small non descript place service misal with bread slices and not pav. The misal is not very spicy, though you can ask for the spicy tarri also. What we also enjoy here are the dahi Vati, nimbu pani, Kokam Sharbat and taak. The home made supari packets are ideal to end the meal with.
A very old outlet in the tiny bylanes of Narayan peth...this one pays a tribute to the typical Maharashtrian fare of Pune ..it's almost as good as visiting your Marathi grandmother..the misal paav for which the crowd gathers is good ..nothing out of the world ..what I really couldn't get over was Chirote, a Maharashtrian festive dessert . This one is extremely thin crusted and crispy and very delicate ..the cardamom aroma just adds to this delicacy ..alivacha Laado is anothet masterpiece of theirs..the batata wadas were really good too with the trademark garlic and ginger taste ..

I am visiting this place for the last 10 years, Their Misal, Batata Wada and Bhaji is always best and I prefer to visit this place for early breakfast whenever I visit Pune city.
Recently visited this place for the famous misal which I’ve heard from many people and I found out to be the best😍
🌟 Misal Slice: the misal was super tasty not so spicy not so sweet a perfect combination of spices and flavours and correct amount of ingredients used served with two slices of bread, love the flavour and taste, loved it must try💕
🌟Sol kadhi: the sol kadhi was so fresh it wasn’t a packed sol kadhi like other restaurants have must try.
🌟chirote: a dry sweet preparation from Maharashtra love the texture must try
• Batata Wada: the batata wada was nice with a good stuffing.
This misal has a puneri taste and some people want only spicy misal but when you taste it with a correct manner you’ll get that perfect taste
This place is clean and hygiene and ambience is simple but you’ll fine happy people around you, staff is friendly
Overall had a great experience tasting their misal Must go and try this outstanding misal
On a local food eating spree and the first one ticked is Bedekar. I'm not a local Maharashtian but this misal definitely is one of the best I've had. Buttermilk or taak as it's called is a add-on and blends on perfectly. Small outlet nothing fancy but at 9am you have people queuing up which tells how famous is this place. Kudos
This is where I had Misal for the first time in Pune in 2004.
I try to go back every couple of months just for the nostalgia factor.
Every true Punekar will respect this place, the trolls can make fun of it, I don’t care.
Ask for The spicy Tarri if you like it Hot.
This is surely a legendary place. Serves absolutely lipsmacking Misal. It's a little on the sweet side so be warned. But I personally like their Misal cause it's one of a kind. Dating back to 1948, this place is been open for almost 70 years.
So if in Pune, give it a try.
If in Pune must try to banta hai....👍
Good joint to have puneri misal.
I loved the unique taste of the misal.
The portion size is good.
Misal is lil sweet and spicy with tangyness...they served it with bread slices.
Farsaan is great again with a unique flavour.
Yet more to discover on the the menu..there are lots of items.
4/5 taste (misal)
5/5 for the service
Clean but small simple place.
This is one of the oldest and best misal in Pune, I have been having this misal since my childhood and I never get tired of it's taste, it is sweet and spicy both and slice provided with misal is always fresh
I absolutely love this place! If you’re a true misal fan, it is a must visit! You may have to wait in the line for some time though which just goes to show the popularity of the place and trust me, good things come to those who wait. Expect nothing fancy though. The misal, is served with bread, not pav. The bread makes it so much better though! It’s fresh bread. The rassa of the misal is delicious, full of flavor and freshly made in the kitchen continuously. I was lucky enough to try some of the local sweets such as Kharas which was beyond delicious. Definitely a must visit place! My mouth is watering as I write this review.
It is a family run business, personally catered to by them. They’re all very humble and sweet, making the experience so much better!
Lipsmacking misal. Perfect on flavors and high on happiness this place surely is a must visit for misal lovers. They serve misal with bread which is unique. Spice level is perfectly balanced too. It's a family run establishment so there's definitely extra love. Solkadi was okeish. Quick service and reasonably priced this place is a must visit.
One of the oldest and authentic place for misal. The best misal in town. The preparation is so awesome that you can’t resist eating. Misal is usually a spicy dish but they make it so well that all aromas are perfectly blended. Don’t forget to eat their gulkand ladu which is a natural coolant with awesome taste and appetizers like kokam and limbu sarbat
Hats of to this place
I am visiting this place for almost 15 years regularly. They were one of the best place to get misal in Pune. Only thing over the years I realised that earlier it was more spicy now days they have reduced there spice considerably but still it's good. Apart from misal u get other things which are also very good no doubt
One of the few places in Pune who serves the best Misal in town, I have been going there since a child and the taste has not changed a bit. Will keep on going whenever i visit Pune.
Located near Shanivarwada this place serves delicious Misal along with bread slices rather than pav.Taste of Misal is bit on the spicier side and I totally enjoyed it.If you want to have awesome misal in Pune then Bedekar is the place to go to.
Okay, to start with, I’m not a misal paav fan. I’ve never enjoyed the dish and prefer having poha or idli over misal. I visited this place just cos my husband is a huge misal fan. And, to my surprise, I started to fall in love with misal after visiting this place. They serve misal with milk bread, and trust me, the taste of misal was another level altogether! The only con about this place is that it’s too small and they make you wait, but that speaks volumes about the familiarity and the taste. A must-try if you are a foodie!
Best part of the restaurant is there service. There hygiene level is really awesome.quantity of the misal is good.taste is really good.what can we say this place is just awesome for someone to do the breakfast

Bedekar tea stall is one of the famous place in pune to try street food.
Visited in evening and place was very crowded.
Had batata vada and hot tea which is value for money.
This is most iconic place in Food world at pune. This place is King of All Misals and Authentic Puneri Taste !! I have been visiting this place from my childhood and always had enriching experience.. Having visited Most of the Misal joints in pune I must say.. Bahut aaye gaye. But this taste is unmatchable.. place is bit small but it reflects old pune and it's authentic experience..
This is must go place.. i Highly recommend it.. wish I could give more than 5 rating for this place..
Why I didn’t get hard copy of bill of my purchase? How can I claim it for reimbursement? Another thing on my last order from you I had received one misal less than order. For which Zomato credited ₹70/- to my account but it didn’t got adjusted in this bill.
One of the iconic places in town famous for it's traditional puneri misal. It's a small shop located in Narayan peth. The interior is very basic like any snacks shop.
Misal is made up of potato, moth, sev, chivda and onions. It is served along with rassa(tarri) and bread slices. Misal is pretty good and unique. Rassa has a sweet and spicy mixed taste making it a bit different from other misal joints famous for spice.
Also try solkadhi and kokum sarbat.
If you go during rush hours be ready to wait long or share your table with other people. Service is super fast.
Zomato delivery was prompt and before time highly recommended.
The taste of misal was perfect and consistent
Best Misal in Pune
This is like punekar’s first choice very awesome and unique taste can’t find it anywhere else... must try Misal with bread uniques mixture and serving. Proper managment while sitting arrangements though the space is less. There is many things to learn from this shop. MBA marketing and other company visit shud happen here

Must visit place ...
Bedekar is the one who made Pune famous for Misal 😋😘😘.The misal is just luscious 🤟.The sample for the misal is the one that adds to tge unique taste.
Misal is amazing. Service is fast and overall it was great experience. Ekdam Puneri misal. 😍❤👍
Had misal after ages. For sure will visit again and again whenever possible.
I loved the missal, it was 🤯 hot but, it was great symphony for my taste buds. Back in Bangalore I have never had such an amazing missal. They had one milk walla - sweet, I don't recall the name. I am not a sweet tooth so it was just perfect along with kokum thirst quencher
Bedekar is one of the most loved places in Pune by all misal fans.A place that I have been visiting since I was a small kid with my father.Their misal has an amazing taste and sone pe suhaga is the cold "taak" which one can definitely enjoy with the spicy misal. It has its own flavour and is wonderful to taste and of course undoubtedly one of the best places in Pune to eat misal. They also serve amazing pickle as well. The gulkand laddoo is one of my most favourite sweet dish to have after the spicy misal. This place is open all week except on Mondays.
Do visit this place to fulfill your misal cravings.
Food:
Indeed Legendary!!! That’s what our reaction were when we tasted the first bite. It is a matki misal served with bread slice (instead of traditional pavs). At the start it may taste sweet but with each bite you’ll feel flavour of spices and its 🔥 effect. Not for people who don’t eat spicy food.
Even if you find it too spicy, to amend things they have sweets like Laddoo(2,3 variants , Solkadhi (Liquid drink made of Coconut), Kharvas (Dairy Prouduct), etc. 5/5
Ambience:
Recently they have expanded to the floor above the original place to accommodate growing patrons. Very ambient and cool place is this 1st floor. Ground floor would be very noisy and not recommended for family outings. 4.5/5
Staff: As this is a family managed restaurant, very polite is what my first reaction was. Just one weird/ new thing. As soon as you are allocated a table, you’re supposed to pay advance Rs. 200,300 so that order can be managed through that and adjusted amount is to be paid later. 4.5/5
Hope this helps.
Happy Misal 🥗
This is my favorite misal joint in pune.. One has to wait for a few minutes before getting a table.. The Misal here is a little sweet and served with bread.. Beware if you're the person who doesn't like sweet gravy..
