This restaurant is nice! You would never say this is if you’re outside. It looks like nothing from the outside. The decor inside is very welcoming. I love it.
The food is outstanding North Indian food! I was recommended this place by a close Punjabi friend of mine.
They also have a very interesting paan ice cream which they call Paan Shotz. Must try if you’re ok with the taste of paan.
Service is really nice at this restaurant as well.
Overall I recommend this restaurant if you like North Indian food. This is one of the best!
Excellent taste... true North Indian taste, we had been today and ordered Haryali paneer tikka for starter... cooked in perfection , also had miloni subji.. it was awesome... value for money
Great place for mughlai and North Indian food. Courteous service and authentic cuisine. Mutton rara is one of their best offerings. Pricing is reasonable and the portions are good.
Found this place during our transit from Bund Garden to MG Road. Since, we had some work at MG road, we thought of having lunch somewhere nearby and opted to have quick lunch here.
the restaurant has a standard clean ambiance with black and white photos hung across the wall giving a typical Parsi restaurant feeling. It seemed to be the hot spot for the elders who have been coming here with their friends group for a long time. After all, the place is here since 1956! It felt historic and I quite liked this vibe.
We ordered:
Lasooni Dal Palak - Good Quantity, serves absolutely hot and very very tasty. the fries onions on the top gave little crispiness.
Chur Chur Naan - I have been wanting to try this for quite some time and thought of ordering it. It is basically a mildly stuffed/flavoured naan broken into pieces accompanied with melted butter. It was soft, crispy and the mild flavours of fennel seeds and onion was going perfect with the dal.
Roomali Roti
This quick stop left us by surprise with the lovely food and courteous staff making this place a must visit.
Follow me @bunsandbottles on Instagram for updates.
The place is good for family dinner or dinner with office colleagues. Food is also very good. Paneer Lavanglatta is their speciality and it’s too good. Staff is also very polite and assertive.
We've been here for office party. Quite decent place, staffs are very courteous.
Food quality is great, very fast service.
I will definitely visit here again.
Good place to be with friends and family.
First of all, this restaurant has well known history that its India's first chain of restaurants opened in cities like New Delhi, Mumbai, Surat, Pune and couple of other cities. You can find old pictures of famous personalities in 60's & 70's. The facade and interiors gave a nostalgic look, however I felt that it has past its prime.
Staff here are very courteous and friendly. When I asked for their recommendations on my order, I got prompt response with good details which gave me confidence to try out Miloni Subzee and Lachcha Paratha. I found brown gravy well cooked and spice were perfectly blended with vegetables, nice aroma added to its taste. Paratha were soft and crispy.
Although I was there for quick lunch and my purpose was well served, I am looking for my next visit for trying full course meal and desserts.
quality and taste is good but quantity is very less as per price
I loved the ambiance it’s morden with a touch of antique.
The ‘kwality special butter chicken is a must have.
Roti is a perfect mixture of crisp and soft.
Definitely visiting again.
Visited this place after quite some time.
Ordered karari roti and prawns cocktail which was quite yummy ! Especially prawns cocktail was something different!
Ordered butter chicken and tawa sabji for main course.
Butter chicken tasted a little sour. But still it was alright.
And for dessert we ordered caramel custard which is a personal favourite!
In the end they served us a complimentary paan shot. It had some paan icecream along with some paan leaves in it. It was really good to end a hearty meal!
Service is like no other. Sweetest staff with a smile on their face every time they are communicating.
Glad this place reopened ! Will always be one of my favourite :)
a nice family restaurant, simple decor and a very diverse menu, with my favorite dishes being their kadhai paneer, kurkure bhindi, chur-chur parantha and kwality daal. One of the few restaurants where we either go in or order home, quite often.
This is a great place to have kebabs ! Aromatic shorbas , delish Dal , crunchy rotis . Everything is made with fresh ingredients and so much love ! My personal favorite for having delicious Indian gourmet food !
Our friends invited us to eat here and it was amazing. Service is great and the food is even better. We had the butter chicken. I absolutely loved it. The quality is very fresh. Speaking of fresh the garlic Naan is just to die for. It comes out nice and hot ready to share. The chicken rara good as well. I can't wait to come back. Highly recommend.
Been there with my family for a birthday dinner. We ordered a variety of stuff and most of them were nice. The mushrooms and chicken starter was good. However the soup was not that great and not hot enough. The one thing restaurant need to improvise upon is the service. The service was not upto the mark and the server was getting confused with order again and again.
I highly recommend the Malai murg lahori if you don't mind the sweet blend of Malai in your main course dish. I also ordered the sizzling brownie but it wasn't as impressive. All in all a good experience.
I have visited this place but neva had a chance to review it. The place is an arena of historical arts and gives a pleasent feel from the moment you step in. Every wall has numourous historical pictorials displayed and the painting on the ceiling is the real eye candy. The service is above average, and the staff is suggestive and welcoming. The food is lip smacking and would completely satisfy your cravings for mughlai and north indian delicacies. The food though has its prices on the higher side so one should be ready to be paying a bit more then he/she expects plus the added taxes.Apart from that its definitely a place worth visiting. We ordered mirg mirchi kebab, and chicken lasooni kebab, for starters alond with murg nizami soup as starters and all were nice and yummy. The kebabs were nicely smoked with perfect flavour and adequately juicy. Then we ordered chicken hyderabadi, butter Kulcha , chicken chelman biryani and a compopolitian cocktail as main course. Everything was satisfying. Definitely try mutton rara, chicken hyderabadi, and chicken lasooni kebab. Would definitely visit the place many more times.
The overall ratings is based on the following Ambience 3/5
Service 4.5/5

In total a place you must visit if given a choice wherein you are a foodie dying to experience and want change.
The food is great and tasting very good well done.
Service is great, friendly.
we tried Chicken malai tikka, chicken rara and mutton korma and every item has amazing flavours and well cooked.
The Naan is well done warm and nice flavour.
Awesome fine dining place. Simply loved the place. Food was awesome - we ordered mushroom, dahi kabab, mirch ka salon, dal makhani and variety of breads. Apart from dahi kabab, I loved everything. 😊 Must visit place - go with your family/friends n njoy.
P.S. Service is toooo slow but worth the wait 😎
Hands down one of the best North Indian food in the city. You cannot beat both the quality and quantity of food you get here, or even compare it to other fine dining establishments.
If you want to experience what real North Indian food is all about, this is it!
The food is delicious. The seating is nice. Total value for money. The service is good. The managers and other staff are super friendly. Valet parking available. The area is clean. All the dishes are amazing. I'm a North Indian and very critical about rating, but I have been to this place like 20 times since the time i have shifted to Pune and not even once it has disappointed me.
Had always wanted to visit this place as it mentions 'since 1956' as its tag line. Was a little wary as it looks pretty secluded from outside. However I finally visited the place today with my wife and the ambience inside is amazing. Coming to the food, we ordered Karari roti, Coach, mix Veg Raita and chicken biryani. Food was good along with courteous service. The menu is a bit pricey though. But overall a good experience.
Tip: Don't go by the looks from outside, this is not at all a shady place.
Perfect place at E street. Ambiance is pretty good.Nice welcome by Staffs.Service good too.Now coming to a main part.Thats food.
We ordered Kalmi Kebab ,Chicken Satey ,Garlic Naan ,Mutton Biriyanu and Lassi.
Kalmi Kebab was juicy,nicely cooked
Staey was ok ok test .
Garlic Nan was champion
Mutton biriyani was good .I liked it
Lassi was made customised. As we wanted they mad on that way.
Special thanks to Captain Chetan and Tirupati to take care us.
Ambiance 4/5
Service 5/5
Food 4.5/5
Look forward to visit again for main course dishes.
Thank you to entire team
This place is at a perfect place. The East Street. Ambience is pretty good enough. Service is good too. Coming to the most important point:The Taste. It's amazing. The food lives up to the restaurant's name-quality. The food takes some time to be served but it's worth the wait. We, as a family, were not quite in a mood for heavy lunch so just 1 murgh mirchi kebab, a paneer kadhai and 4 naans. Quantity was sufficient. Just my one complaint is that it is overpriced even without the tax. But the food makes you forget about the price leaving you with a memorable good food experience.
Just loved the butter chicken. It was full of cream. Very royally prepared. Butter Roti was one of the best I ever had. The ambience is superbly rich. But the rates are on very higher side.
I had visited this restaurant with my family last week and many times in the past. In a nutshell it serves delicious authentic Punjabi Cuisine , I would recommend Karari Roti (Starter) , Chicken Banjara Kebab, Paneer Lavanglatta are a Must try!
They need to improve on service as we found it extremely slow.
Finally visited the most heard about place in camp.
Seating is a cozy one,a place to visit with family.
Gaarlic Naan with Chicken Boti Curry was the best of the lot we tasted, also the pineapple raita was by far the best i had.
Would suggest them to improve on their iced tea and kwality special daal.
Overall a good experience as a whole.
Place is good ambience is good. We got a table in the centre which is not a good place. I went there with friends who were visiting from outside of pune. We couldn't talk much as the noise was echoing and had to change place and take corner table.
Food is average but prices are high, you've other good options available just nearby.
One of the oldest restaurant in the city..good ambience and service as well.. though prices on the higher side ,food is good. We ordered Karari roti( must try, light as a khakra similar to masala papad, tastes quite nice ) , lasuni tikka was good too., And bati chicken( was average). Overall it was a great experience and a lovely evening.
Ordered masala papad and chicken biryani. Masala papad wasn't very good. The onion amd tomato masala on the top was too salty. The biryani was amazing. The chicken was so soft and tender, it was just melting in the mouth. Hope to try more variety sometime later.
silent and decent place to enjoy the food with wine in camp area
food is good
i love the ambiance
overall good place who serves well prepared food with a perfect glass of wine.
I adore this place. Lovely ambience and probably the best fine dine for me in Pune. The paneer dishes are outstanding..My favorite being the Paneer Tikka. The prices are on the higher side but worth every penny.
I had come here with my best friends for dinner on a late Monday evening. The restaurant on the inside isn't too big but it looks elegant with the kind if decor and ambience they have. Their menu has a lot to choose from and the captain was a little too suggestive with the choice of dishes.
So, we finally ordered a serving of veg and chicken seekh kebabs for starters. The order came in time and was served nicely. The kebabs were nice and flavorful. Next, we had bati chicken with rotis, naans and chur chur parantha. The bati chicken was quite good and so were the breads. Although, the chur chur parantha did not appeal much to me after being recommended by the captain. But it tasted okay.
Now, the prices here are definitely on the higher side considering the quantity you get on your plate. But, the food, the service and the ambience really makes up for it which makes Kwality a quality restaurant to have a meal with your group.
This restaurant rises to your epxectations when you take your loved ones for a fine dinning experience. It is superb place complete with tasty food, lovely ambience, and welcoming staff. We were looked after so well! Karari roti is a must!
So another place which was on my bookmarks for a long time. Esablished in 1956 and still doing well in the business means definitely this restaurant has something unique to offer to its patrons. The ambience is great with egyptian sculptures all around on the wall and the unique dome. Food was good except for of the main course (Paneer Tikka Masala). The starters were really good. Worth another visit.

+3.5
Kwality stands true to each seven letters of its name !
I have been here twice and both the times I didn't find any chance to complain about either food or their service. It's a medium sized restaurant, with the iconic blue dazzling lights ! This place is mostly filled with family.
Coming to food -> They serve lip smacking starters, both veg and non-veg. Veg kebabs, appropriately spiced and served smokin hot! Chicken tandoori, makes you swipe the plate clean ! Main course, not bad too. Desserts are yumm !!!
Staff -> Decent. But you do have to try hard to get their attention sometimes, during rush hours.
Price -> Me and my friends feel that it's a Pricey place, considering the food, ambiance and location. But I guess after all it's named 'Kwality' for some reason right ! ;)
Do visit and you won't be disappointed with food Kwality :)
Always good to be here. The food is lipsmacking, the decor is warm and the service is quick. They do know their food and almost anything you order is made to perfection. The mutton here especially is delectable. You can give the biryani a skip but everything else is simply delicious. The cost equates the quantity, though not for starters (but thats everywhere). All in all, a delightful place to eat.
I agree the food and service is great here but they have a problem of bed bugs which is just unacceptable!!! Almost a year back, a friend of ours had the same experience and brought it to the attention of the person in charge but sadly, just a few days back when we decided to go there for dinner, we noticed these pests again!! Bed bugs are a serious menace and being such an iconic restaurant in one if the busiest parts of town, I think the restaurant owners need to do something about this. I'm sure no one wants to accidentally carry one of these pests home and experience an infestation. I hope the restaurant guys read this and take this issue seriously.
Have been to this place a long time back.Visited first time after they changed their decor. The Indian tandoori fare was excellent as usual.Kabab platter was good and so was the kwality murg makhani , however the dal makhani was not up to the mark. They need tp work on this to cone up to the standard of their remaining fare. They had a problem with their net connection so card payment was not possible ,we were asked to pay in cash. This was a surprise, that in this day and age they do not have a back up.
Long time have been in Pune but have not tried the legendary places it offered on East Street...
My East Street Food journey started with kayani bakery.. and we went to kwality..
The most appreciable thing about this place is the service & hospitality which is outstanding for a restaurant. They greet you warmly the manager is polite and explains you all the items which you ask inquire. .
Ambiance is also nice ... Now on to the food.. we started with Karari Roti which was roasted rumali roti with hint of oil and chilli powder quite Brilliant :)
We also had Hara bhara kebab which was quite soft and filling.. tasted quite nice. .
We straight away jumped to Jeera rice & Daal Kwality which Daal Makhani ...
Both of which were outstanding specially daal was perfect. .. Nice thick loaded with goodness of butter.. too good..
We ended with peach ice tea.. which was nice. . The place offers more options for non veg but veg options are also there .. in good numbers ..
All in all.. a great place to dine!!!
Final Verdict :
Food : 5/5
Service : 5/5
Ambiance : 4/5
VFM : 4.5 / 5
Cheers. ... !!!
It is one of the most renowned and a legendary restaurant in pune me and friend of mine had been to this place were we ordered for chicken hydrabadi and boy it was just too good. The goan prawns curry it wasn't bad i mean it was an average. But the disappointing part is the service it is slow bt the food makes up for it.
Rating- 4/5
We had a lovely dinner yesterday & apart from the ambience, what we enjoyed most was the Chaap Kheema Masala. Mind blowing stuff. It's nothing but tandoor roasted Chaap , pan tossed with mutton Kheema. Surprisingly the masala was just right, not too spicy & large portions, good enough for 3 persons. Couldn't say the same about Daal Lehsooni which was quite bland. Overall we had a good time. 👍👍👍
Kwality's turns 60 at East Street, Pune!
It has maintained it's high standards and quality thru the years serving authentic Mughlai cuisine to be relished by your taste buds.
Try their Stuffed Jalapeno Cheese Chilli, Dahi Anjeer ke Kabab, Thai Chicken Spring Rolls, Shish Taouk, Murg Banjara Kebab, Raan e Punjab, Lehsooni Tandoori Jhinga, Mutton Rogan Josh, Rara Mutton with Rumali roti, Missi roti........oh! the list of favourites is endless!!!!!!
Highly recommended for a special outing.
this restaurant is located on the east street in camp next to kayani bakery
the ambience is nice
its the same place that is located in caunaught place in delhi since the last 30-40yrs or something
but the taste is not the same as to that restaurant
service is good but this place is over hyped (as the other kwality is really awesome )
had butter chicken - ok in taste ...a little sweeter than normal
paneer kadhai - paneer was good but quantity was small
dal makhani - it was quite good
overall
ambience - 4/5
food -3.5/5
service 3.5 /5
quality of food 3.5/5
its just that there are many places with same cuisine and better food and are cheaper
Went here for the first time and boy I was impressed! The ambience is really nice.
Food :
Paneer Shashlik : good
Chicken biryani : amazing! So impressed!
Gulab jamuns with ice cream : perfect
Strawberry mousse : amazing
Loved this place. Only issue being parking :D
Great experience. The staff was very friendly! Loved the biryani, mutton chops and Bhuna mutton gosht. Must try dishes 💯
I had heard so much about George Restaurant, so I decided to pay a visit. I ordered their chicken biryani, and I must say, it lived up to all my expectations. The chicken was cooked to perfection.
I also tried their lime soda, which was not good.
However, my experience took a downturn when my two vegetarian friends ordered Kadahi Paneer. Unfortunately, it didn't meet the mark and was rather disappointing.
In summary, George Restaurant is a haven for non-vegetarians, particularly for biryani enthusiasts. But for vegetarians, the options might not be as satisfying, so it's a mixed bag depending on your dietary preferences.
Almost a century old restaurant it ensures to carry on a legacy with good food, fast service and decent ambience. The pricing is on the reasonable side & i recommend visiting on weekdays to avoid crowds which is normally high on weekends.
restaurant is spacious but no-parking facility.
we tried the chicken tikka Birayani love that,
for dessert we tried the pudding which is not upto the mark
It is time to review the legendary George Restaurant.. It is the culture of old era .. From 1970..
It is best known for its non veg dishes.
Ambiance : it is clean and hygienic.. However has its old charm intact till today.. I love the simplicity of table arrangements.. It is well utilized.. It is in the heart of the camp area.. So be ready for traffic hustle..
Service : super quick service very well managed by all staff. Staff was polite and humble.. All are very well know their menu.. So might be having some waiting on rush hours..
Food : All knows that geoge restaurant.. Is famous for their non veg cousin.. It is having taste from 1970 or even before.. I have tried their chicken biryani.. (Super soft and tender chicken.. ) just melts in mouth.. Biryani is on bit dryer side , I would love to have bit more masala to manage the rice.. But that is what people love they are serving from years and years.. Paneer tikka masala was spot on love it.. Paneer was soft masala was good 👍
Roti is again very big in size compared to any other restaurant... Overall it cult following... It is just take you in to different era of non veg cousin..
Overall give a try for the culture and flavours of 90'..

Mutton Chops was just amazing!! Definitely try it. Had also ordered mutton biryani which wasn’t as good as expected. The mutton pieces in the Biryani had too much bones. Maybe I was unfortunate. Taste was it was good not excellent as I had expected. I would have given this restaurant a 5 star if the look of desert was perfect though the taste was usual. Would definitely visit again to try the mutton chops.
This is a very famous restaurant service people for more than a decade. They have a speciality in non veg food options. Most of the times it is crowded and you might have to wait here for a few minutes. But the space is huge so you'll get your seat. There is an AC seating option available as well.
Now about the food. Let me tell you my experience with the vegetarian food.
Avoid going here if you are a pure vegetarian and can't stand non veg.
Also the veg food options were less than average in taste. We tried Hara bhara kabab and they were extremely disappointing. Then we got Paneer Butter Masala with butter roti. The paneer was average. You can way more better options than that.
Now about the non veg food.
In starter we tried Chicken Reshmi Kabab, mutton seekh kabab and mutton fried chops. All of it was delicious.
For the main course we tried Chicken Dum biryani and Chicken tikka biryani. The dum biryani was better than the tikka biryani.
For desert we tried the caramel custard and we didn't like it. It was very bland. The flavours were very very subtle and bland.
Their prices are also on higher side for everything.
So overall it's a good place to enjoy non vegetarian food options.
There is a washroom present here.
Fav place of punekars. 1936 Restuarant still rocking in the city with its delicacies.. Major hits are Chicken Rotisserie, Kababs, Caramel Pudding, Tandoori Pomfret and Mutton Chap Kababs.
Situated at MG Road, the most happening place of Pune this is a wonderful family restaurant. The old building has been nicely decorated to keep up with changing times. Food is great, service is sincere, the environment warm and friendly.
Highly recommended for dining out with family and friends.
Nice place for a meal with family and friends, or even alone. The food is great! Service is generally good, though it may falter on very busy days -- days when you have to wait outside for 5 - 6 minutes for a seat. Staff and manager are very courteous and helpful. Location is very good, though finding a parking spot is always a challenge in this area at any time of day or night and for any type of vehicle.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at George restaurant, and it was a truly delightful experience. The ambiance was warm and inviting, creating the perfect setting for a memorable meal.
While the prices are on the higher side, the overall value for the quality of the food and service makes it worth every penny. Whether it's a special occasion or a casual night out, George restaurant is a culinary gem that I would highly recommend to anyone seeking an exceptional dining experience.
Absolutely delighted with my dining experience at this restaurant! The ambiance was charming, the staff attentive, and the food was a culinary delight. Every dish was meticulously prepared, showcasing a perfect balance of flavors. I highly recommend it for anyone seeking a memorable and delicious dining experience.
Nostalgic experience, we had fried mutton chops and Mutton Biryani.
Mutton was tender and tastey.
Biryani is must have with classic parsi masala.
A restaurant owned by the Venkey’s group. Good selection of non vegetarian food, bun maska, tea/coffee, desserts etc.
Reasonable prices and good service.
Biryani?
Here’s your place
George Restaurant- very authentic and famous for its chicken and mutton Biryani!
Whole lot of rush for Dinner and they even got varieties of deserts.
Many side dishes with even vegetarian options for courses
A must try in Pune!!!
