The ambience was nice.
The staff were friendly.
I tried
1. Chicken Biryani which was spicy and tasted like authentic South Indian biryani
2. Naan with Ghee Roast Chicken which was amazing. I highly recommend this.
3. Dosa with cashew and coconut gravy, which was ok.
Decentralizing Idli, is their punchline which somehow I did not understand. The place is nicely done, mozaic table tops, comfortable chairs and seating both outdoors and indoor. It was rainy and the covered seating produced a great atmostphere. Was not crowded at 9.30am. The restaurant manager who is quite courteous reached out several times to ask orders, quality etc. Menu was quite unexpected as not many Idli items were seen although the name of place is We.Idliwale. Only 2 veg Idli offerings rest with fish and prawns. Likewise Uttapam only available with egg - no veg version available and hence not for vegetarians. Dosa too had only the plain dosa version available for veggies, many more with non-veg. 3 of us 4 in the family are veg and it was difficult to choose what to eat as ven medu vada was sold out. I could have left however my accommodative family agreed for idli sambar chutney, a plain dosa and I thought of trying Egg Uttapam. The order took quite long to be served however when it came, the presentation was quite pleasing. Idli's, majority of our order, were super soft and made me happy. Sambar and chutney along with podi created a great combo. One feedback though, extra sambar took more than 10 minutes to arrive and the meal was done by then. Likewise when serving veg and non vegetarian items on table, one should service extra spoons/cutlery for common items such as chutney or kesri bath however it took us more than 5 minutes to summon the server and then another 5 minutes just to get extra cutlery - there is need for speed and attention to customers. This is when there were only 2-3 visitors at the joint, and is going to be a show spoiler when they are house full. The dosa (2 pieces in a plate) were nice and tasted well. The egg Uttapam was nothing great as nothing more than a poached yolk on the uttapam but not bad either - something new. The uttapam was nicely made, was soft and had lots of onion, tomato, coriander and chillies - that's how I like it to be. The filter coffee was great however both the times - it wasn't hot the way it should be, espl in rainy season. To summarise - Good food, great presentation, service needs improvement and so does the menu offerings. On service, they are primarily a delivery/take-away(is my observation) however they need to prioritise the walk-in customers first !
We celebrated our mother’s birthday at We Idliwale NIBM Road, and I must say our family was surprised. The place was recommended by my cousin and it turned out a hit for a casual dining celebration.
The food was awesome. Many thought they would have to order idle and dosa with sambhar which is one of their dishes.. but We Idliwale serves kandapur chicken, mutton Saru, prawn Sri Lankan curry, veg stew among other gravy dishes to go with Dosa, idle or parotta, (good for sharing). The starters we ordered were Yam Rava dry, podi potato and fish tava fry, relished - finger licking!!
We asked for extra dosa and the crispy hot dosa were served to wipe the dish clean 😋.
With prior permission, I was allowed to bring in a cake to celebrate the occasion. (It will only be right to carry your own paper plates and spoons to serve the cake, like I did).
A selection of non-veg dosas and idles dunked in mutton and chicken gravies truly decentralizes Idle…
What completed our memorable experience was the service. The staff were friendly and accommodated to our need to reserve our table, reduce spice, add extra dosas, recommend dishes. Chef Umesh was all along from taking the reservations two days prior to serving salivating dishes. In gratitude to Chef Umesh (both), Raushan and all the staff.
Highly recommended!!
After reading a lot of public reviews, tried We Idli waale today. I went to have breakfast there. Not much crowded at 09:30am atleast on weekday, the staff was very polite.
I ordered only a single plate of idli sambhar chutney and a filter coffee. The presentation was really attractive as the design of plate gives you a feel of being in South India. Idli was soft, sambhar was okay but the chutney (coconut base) and podi was really satisfying (P.S I usually don't like chutney)
About the filter coffee - didn't like it much and there is definitely a scope of improvement.
They have combined non veg with idli and dosa which I have heard for the first time but as Shravan month is going on hence couldn't try. Will definitely be trying the same and posting a review. Stay updated.
All appetiser are recommended. Taste is amazing.
Don’t order biryani or main course they are not up to the mark.
Best place to have South Indian cuisine. Like many others I agree they have limited options in Idli but what an amazing serve. This is my 2nd visit at this branch and 7th overall (online order) and till date they have made sure to maintain the taste and authenticity. Do give it a try if you ever feel like having some South Indian food.
One of the best and most authentic South Indian foods with real taste from the root villages of Andhra Pradesh. Rasam was lovely with the right balance of Garlic cloves and tangy taste of tomato. Podi Fried Potatoes were a little spicy flavour to the crispy potatoes. Rice was subtle with very natural essence. Dosa was different from the ones we get all across the town with a flavourful essence of south. Filter Coffee had the taste from the streets of Mangaluru. Not just any regular South Indian food joint instead the ones recognized under the most authentic taste. They also serve Vegan Filter Cold Coffee.

Went for breakfast at We Idliwale, loved the food and presentation, good customer service and nice ambience too.
Awesome food. Tastes Authentic and pleasant atmosphere.
Like many other reviewers I didn’t like the fact that they have only 1 idly option, I also felt that the prices are on a higher side, plus the staff needs some more training, but guess what I have visited them 4 times already since they opened. I believe it’s the ambience, the taste and the fact that the menu is not the run of the mill variety that we are used to! Keep it up folks and please give us some more Idly varieties to do justice to your name😋
Food is good but the restaurant can handle only simple orders of one or two items. If you order many different items, they will definitely miss out some item. This is my experience on number of occasions. So ‘Medium Raw Hospitality’ has a tendency to occasionally give you a Raw Deal!
Can do better with service. The service seemed slow and we had to specifically remind the servers to get us what we wanted. Got one plate of idli and waited 10 minutes for the next even when we ordered all of it together. Imagine getting dosa first before idli 😅 overall the food is amazinggggg compensates for the services. Staff is soft spoken and good to talk to
We just visited to have a bite and were not disappointed. The menu is predominantly non veg and big portions. If 4 persons, suggest order only 2 dishes. We ordered the chicken curry with paratha and black pepper Prawns on dosa. Both excellent and different in taste. Finished the meal with a filter coffee. Taste is predominantly Andhra.
Tried the non veg meals at We Idli Wale this afternoon and I instantly experienced the biggest regret of my last 5 years in Pune. Regret that I didn't realise what I was missing all thes years. A crying shame that despite staying so close to this absolutely mind-blowing restaurant, albeit with a very misleading name, I didn't leverage this to satiate my palate. They don't just serve idlis, in fact idlis find only a few spots in the menu. Great ambience, service and absolutely scrumptious and lip smacking delicacies that are finger licking good. Like, I couldn't find anything wrong with any dish on my large banana leaf. Sad that they serve meals only on Fridays but now that makes total justice to the term TGIF. I just can't wait to go back there. Thank you We Idli Wale and God bless the chef.
My favourite here is the "Srilankan prawn curry". It's amazing.
Food here in general is really good and filling.
Authentic Southindian food 😍
@we_idliwale serves delicious & healthy brakfast combos like Idli with sambar or chicken with idli or mutton with dosa and they also have veg combos too.😋
We really liked - Filter coffee, Crispy Podi Prawns,Kundapur Chicken Curry with parotta ,Dindigul Mutton biryani and don't forget to end your meal with coconut Jaggery Icecream 🍧.
Really good experience... truly authentic idli and chutney. Sambar was spot on. Perfect for a brunch date. Or otherwise too. Can't wait to visit again.
