The name of the restaurant has changed and it was difficult to ascertain the location as a result, but once we went there, it was an overwhelming experience. Honestly, I was not expecting the food to be this good. But it proves that outside bells and whistles do not matter. The quality of food was really excellent. Items such as - chilli egg plant, methi chicken and mutton kasha were absolutely amazing. The staff were courteous as well. Few points of improvement I would like to add for the owners - to include Papad and one Dessert to make it one complete package. Also, please note - you guys need to place food order one day in advance. Luckily for me the staff were courteous enough to accept my booking on the day itself.

This is an amazing place for food lovers. You need to order prior to have your lunch or dinner. They cook foods accordingly. Cordial behavior, delicious bengali thali and so nice ambience!! I loved this place. O would suggest at least one visit if you are looking for treat to your taste buds. Parking might be a bit difficult because of the narrow road. Overall, a must try.

Out of all the good Bengali food I've ever had, Aarhani was hands down the finest home cooked bengali food. Everything was made in their unique style right from the aaloo bhaja to the bhindi to the prawns that was super light, not very oily or spicy, but full of simple and good flavours. Must visit! A professional chef/restauranter with us said it was the best Bengali meal he has ever had so that should work. Also, the lady running the space was very sweet and sincere. She looks after several stray pets she has adopted over the years and cooks because it's her passion. I think that's very special.

Hidden gem of Shantiniketan. They don't promote that much, found out from one travel blog, tried and guess what, it was awesome. Thank you for such a lovely food.

Amazing experience! Was looking for a nice place for my birthday lunch at Shantiniketan and voila! found this hidden gem just few meters away from our stay. We had to book a day before and also pre order our menu.( which is a nice thing, less wastage of food). So please keep these two things on mind. Quite pocket friendly, we had ordered Rice,Shukto,Dal,aloo bhaja, mixed veg,Prawn dish, bonmurgir curry, and chutney. It costs INR 650/- for two people. Rest be assured you will definitely have a satisfactory experience. Its all homecooked food by the owner herself. She is so nice, welcoming and her food is amazing.Must try!! You are bound to fall in love with bengali food.

Like most reviews here, my account of my visit will also be rather hagiographical. I am no expert on gourmet, but the culinary ingenuity of the chef is unparalleled. By her own admission, the 'begun tok' is the most popular dish that is served at Aarhani, and not without reason. It is mind-numbingly good, and a gastronomic experience of its own. The chicken curry served at dinner was sumptous too, and perhaps coincidentally shared that proprietary zest of the 'begun'. My reasons for not pointing out the other dishes are purely logistical, but they are equally praiseworthy. As for the chef herself and her husband, they were kind and perfectly amiable. To conclude, and I say this without any unction whatsoever: a meal of a lifetime.

This is a hidden gen in Bolpur, Shantiniketan. The only drawback is you have to call Rini di ahead of your visit and order the food. Rini di herself carried all the food that we ordered to our homestay. The quantity was decent , the pork they prepared was so tasty. Must order pork from them .

A bowl of Kashmiri mutton which a four year old kid and his four year old dad both enjoyed and relished to have a finger-licking experience! Sounds unbelievable? 😋 It has been exactly one week since the unforgettable afternoon in Aarhani Restaurant in Shantiniketan.❤️ This place run by a very kind couple, Rini di and Dibyansghu da, did elevate the idea of home-chef to an altogether sublime level! Three plates of fine rice to have with daal and aloo bhaja dotted with posto, some bandhakopi, two plates of mutton and some awesome mango chutney to finish off - yes, all this for only INR 750/- for 3 of us. So what one has to do? 1. Preorder is a must here - at least 4 hours ahead, if not the previous day. 2. Then have some patience and then sit back in the outdoor area or the mud house and just soak in the earthy atmosphere. #honumanshongothon #travelwithhonumans #shantiniketan #aarhani #goodfood #beautifulbengal

Incredible experience at this quaint place near Prantik. Home cooked gourmet food. That a simple Bengali meal can be so hearty is difficult to believe until you've had lunch or dinner here. The Kashmiri Mutton is a speciality but what blew my mind was the Doi Maach.
